My 1st experience here wasn't so pleasant, so I went back to shaving. Of course got tired of the hassle, so attempted waxing once more and and committed! I seen Eric the next time I went back, and she didn't an amazing job and conitues to do so each time! The process is getting easier and Im definitely sticking to Erick the girl knows her stuff, and for me being black its good to have some one who know the best for my type for hair! Lol.. I'm always seen right @ my appointment even on a busy day and she's quick! Done in 10- 15 mins!. There is ample parking (meters on the street though)
P.s the boutique is super cute! Makes it feel almost spa like! They're personable and really try to make it as pleasant as possible, granted that its not so pleasant lol. =) -

Came here for the first time i had ever gotten a brazillian done...
I have to admit there arent many things that make me uncomfortable, but someone looking at my kuka was kinda uncomfy, until i came here...
It was quick and fast and my esthetician talked me through the whole procedure...
Definitely no double dippin also :) [believe it or no some people do, ive heard some horror stories] -

Erica is the best! She makes you feel comfortable in a not so comfortable position. She's quick and thorough. I would reccomend her to anyone. Especially if its your first waxing experience. The Pretty Kitty has a fabulous employee. I will be returning.

My experience here was short-lived and not too memorable. It was my first time getting a brazilian and I will break down my visit into parts that support the review I have given.
Pros:
-They booked me last minute.
-The girl I had wax me was very professional
-She didn't double dip and employed hygienic methods
-She claimed she had four years of experience and knew what she was doing
-The interior design of the place looks expensive and modern.
Cons:
-I was left with a ton of ingrown hairs, which were very painful and I couldn't sleep well due to the festering bumps which I had to take some tweezers to. (This HAS to be my largest complaint. I was so upset.)
-I was red, incredibly sensitive, sore and in pain for the next three days.
-They charge a HEFTY price for a method of waxing that is outdated.
-I was left to get dressed and ski-daddle. I didn't feel I was being pampered and treated like a potential long-term customer.
-You have to pay for parking on the street.
After doing some more research I realized that the form of waxing they use is actually really painful and leaves you more ingrown hairs!
Other waxing methods have been discovered, such as: hard wax (which I had at Viva Brazil, which doesn't hurt a smidgeon!!) and sugaring, which I heard was organic and also not as painful. -

I have been going here for two months and have been pleased with the results and the staff. The first time i ever got a Brazilian done I went in a little terrified but after talking to Megan and having her work on me I soon became comfortable. When you go in not only does the staff make you feel welcomed but they also make sure to inform you on the best way to achieve the best results. This means a lot when it is your first time getting Brazilian.
The second time in the process was faster and didn't hurt as much which is a big thing and when talking to Virgina (yes a tried a different person) she continued to explain to me why it wasn't as painful!!
You can park on the street on in the parking structure behind Fudruckers...I park in the parking structure to skip the street parking meters altogether!
Best place to go to get unwanted hair removed!! -

I have been going here for the last couple of months and am a great fan. I have had Megan and Stephanie who are both great estheticians!
Brazilian waxes are no walk in the park, so really, don't expect it not to be painful because it is. I have to take an ibuprofen and use their numbing gel before I come here but it still kind of hurts. However, the estheticians somewhat lessen the pain through their technique and it also helps that they are really fun to talk to. When i get my brazilians here, it's like I'm coming in for a 10 minute chat with a new friend! they are really nice here, the facility is clean, and I also noticed that they do not re-use the same sticks.
Price for a brazilian wax: $45, which is kind of on the pricey side, but hey, you're paying for people you can trust and cleanliness!
I came out of this great waxing boutique comfortable, beautiful, and content with my pretty kitty! LOL. -

Getting a Brazilian is not something you can just go anywhere and get. Will they double dip the stick? Are they professionals? Do they know what they're doing? This is a sensitive area and should be treated as such! I have heard horror stories about women going to nail salons and getting the procedure done and i didn't want to become another horror story! So after much research i ended up at The Pretty Kitty. I have now been a customer for a year and a half and come in every 6-8 weeks. And honestly, $45 seems like a perfect price to me for what they're doing and how well they're doing it.
I have probably had every girl wax me at the Chula Vista location and they are all professionals, make you feel comfortable, and all professional estheticians with years of experience waxing. They know what they're doing. I remember my first time going and they do walk you through it and try to make it as easy of an experience as possible. And although they accept walk-ins, they do get busy so i highly suggest booking an appointment instead.
If you are reading this review because it will be your first time, remember to take Tylenol 30-45 min before your appointment. If it ends up being more painful than you can handle they sell a numbing creme you can buy that you can apply before your next appointment. I know everyones different, so I'm not going to say its not that bad. They also sell brushes and an ointment if you are a person who suffers from ingrowns. The ladies walk you through the aftercare treatment if you inform them it is your first time. -

First time I went here was in PB and I'm glad they opened up in Chula Vista. Fast and friendly - great atmosphere, clean and parking wasn't too much of a hassle since I'm familiar with the area. I've gone to other places after and never had the same experience. I didn't have to go back as often and I liked how painless they made it.
Anyhow - I gave it 4 star instead of 5 because of how pricey it is. They give discounts to new customers but after that you have to pay full price and a tip. I don't go back as often but do recommend friends to go there, but they hesitate because of the price. =) -

I've been getting my brazilian waxes from Stephanie lately. When I first started going here in 2010 (after finding the *purrfect*..haha..okay that was lame..wax place), I originally was getting waxed by Virginia. But schedule changes happened and Stephanie's schedule worked best for my busy lifestyle.
I'm giving this place 5 stars despite the metered parking (it is downtown Chula Vista, after all) but you don't need to pay on weekend! The brazilian is really affordable and it's clean and fast. Stephanie does a great job making you forget what you're going through because the whole time, you're just having a normal conversation with her.
I have extremely sensitive skin but because I've been going here for a while, they know how to take care of me. Comfy. Clean. Affordable. Fast! Oh and they don't put you in awkward positions..! -

I started going here in 2008 and have been getting Brazilian waxes since. Because this is the first place I ever got my lady parts professionally "groomed", I wanted to try other places to see how they compared. Pretty Kitty definitely beat out the competition (waxing-wise). They have the best quality of wax I have ever experienced. Virginia, by far, is the BEST esthetician. She is quick, funny (keeps your attention away from what's really going on), and professional.
There are two reasons I gave The Pretty Kitty four stars rather than five:
1. The price (although it is not bad and they have waxing packages, I found a better deal for another place) and
2. The wait (I've had to wait for the esthetician to open the shop and prep for my 10am appt. And, on several occasions, they were behind schedule). -

First Review: LOVE this place! ALL their waxers are wonderful, keep GREAT conversation, no awkward moments. FAST! I've been going for over a year and my best advice is to purchase the brush exfoliator and USE IT EVERYDAY!!
Update: I walked in excited for my monthly wax, but was told to reschedule because I had my child with me. I never knew there was a no-child policy, I wouldn't have brought my child if he was ill-mannered or if I didn't trust him to wait for me.
I was really upset when their No Child Policy sign was pointed out to me, which was rather small, and I would have never bothered to read it anyway. I highly suggest when making confirmation calls the day before, reiterating their "no child policy"
My child just so happen to have a 1/2 day that day and it was very inconvenient for me to reschedule.
I don't plan on returning here. -

I love Lisa, my first time here she made sure I was comfortable and talked me through the whole process. Lisa answered all the questions I had and gave me tips to do before my next wax. She also remembers you when you come back. Great service:]
First time I got my Brazilian, pain was probably a 7 out of 10. But it's bearable and results are worth it. The other sessions were less painful, I recommend purchasing NUMB-IT. You apply it 10-15 minutes before your session , it helps lessen the pain and it really helps. Well to me it does.
Other thing I like about this place is the decor, and the whole staff is friendly.
If it's your first time, don't worry they will definitely take good care of you! -

I'm not going to try to hide the fact that I'm an esthetician that does waxing as well, but I am very honest in my reviews and have in fact given other waxing places great reviews before.
I was very excited to try out the pretty kitty. They are so close to my apartment, they have super cute decor, and some great reviews. The girl that did my wax was nice enough and had a pretty good technique going, and no double dipping.
But the reason for the 2 stars is because she lifted skin around the labia area which happens when the wax is too hot.
I went home to shower and holy s*** my kitty was on fire! I took a peek at why it could be hurting so much and there it was on each side of the labia, the top layer of skin was gone/burned off. It didnt go very deep, thank goodness but it was still enough to shock me and to be uncomfortable for about a week after. The esthetician really should have let me know so I could treat it to prevent an infection. I know accidents happen but all I can say is that she really should have let me know.
I also dont like that she didnt put anything on my skin after the wax is over. A little aloe? witch hazel? something soothing? On top of that, there were a ton of hairs left. It was probably the most incomplete wax I've ever had. I had to get waxed again the very next weekend because it bothered me how much hair was left!
So unfortunately, I wont be going back. -

This is my first time ever getting a Brazilian wax and the staff was so nice Stephanie was soo help and nice and made me feel so comfortable. She was fast and efficient and walked me through the whole process. I loved her. I'm giving them 4 stars because the person who waxed my eye brows burned me with the was and left a mark on the side of my eye, very upset. But the Brazilian was great, I would go again but not for eye brows

I just realized I can't remember the name of the woman who did my Brazilian, but she was fantastic, and she had an Aussie accent. She talked with me throughout the whole deal which made it much easier. It had been a while since I'd gotten one done and it wasn't nearly as painful as I'd remembered it being. *shrug*
Either way, she left me alone to change (aka strip down). They had wipes on a shelf (nice). Then she returned and we got down to business. The wax was a perfect temperature and it felt good going on, despite the fact that she was about to rip it and all of my hair off.
She did my lower tummy as well ('cause I have only a little fuzz there), and she did my butt! The last place I went to back East didn't do that!
I got a way better deal here with all they did. And they sold me the roll-on PFB for ingrown hairs. I walked out of there feeling so much lighter. Now I just need someone to try this out on! -

I wish I had discovered this place sooner! I was in & out in about 10 minutes and the pain wasn't as bad as I had anticipated! Big thank you to Lisa who did my brazillian.. she was very nice & gave me a ton of useful information on the upkeep and everything. I mean, I left with a very pretty kitty, a huge smile on my face AND new customers get $10 off!
This is definitely the place to go & I'll definitely be back with friends :) -

I delayed coming back to PK not because of the awesome ladies that work here BUT the grueling idea of hair being yanked like there is no tomorrow is not something I am excited about (well, I am excited about the results!!). Setting up an appointment was easy and I ended up with Lucia (?) who has an incredibly cool Aussie accent! She was FANTASTIC and has only a couple of months working at PK but is an expert in my book.

It has been over a month since I had my hair waxed and I didn't want to go to Le Wax again so I experimented on my friends and which ever one had the best review and results was the place I was going to.
Just last night, I spoke to my boyfriend's sister and she was telling me how fast and easy it was even though it hurt a little for her first time. I was surprised because she didn't seem too bothered by the pain she felt. She told me she was going to get her wax done at Brazilia and she ended up going to TPK.
It was somewhat hard finding their location because there were two 24 Hour Fitness locations coming from the 54-W freeway. They are located right in between 24 and Fudruckers which is where we parked since we didn't get lucky enough to find parking out front. I was late to the appointment but they didn't really care. Immediately, I felt comfortable talking to Tricia. She did everything so quickly, not even noticing that it was my first time there and thinking that I was a regulular customer. She asked if I knew what to do and I basically had the idea down: wiping and undressing. The waxing didn't hurt as much as I anticipated; maybe a little bit on the top of the pubic bone but in less than 15 minutes, she got the job done as she talked her way through it!
All I can say was that she did an amazing job! I just didn't like how the receptionist, Dane was so eager about the tip! But overall, great service. Fast, and a very clean kitty indeed (:
Updated Results: My hair didn't grow for 3 1/2 weeks with just a little stuble showing. No ingrown hairs after using PFB Vanish. The growth was regulated unlike my previous wax which had different growth patterns. -

I decided to try this place out because my sister-in-law recommended it and I kept seeing an ad for it in one of those local coupon books you get in the mail. Plus, I didn't have time to drive to my usual waxer in the Sports Arena area.
I was a few minutes late to my appointment but it was no problem. I parked my car right in front in the metered parking, but forgot to bring coins. I walked in to ask for change but the receptionist said they had none =/ so I had to move my car into the Fuddrucker's parking lot (which is where I should've parked in the first place).
My waxer's name was Lindsay. She complimented me on how well I was doing during the waxing, even though it did hurt a bit. And boy she was quick! She was done in less than 10 minutes!
I know that the majority of the other reviews gave the Pretty Kitty 5 stars so you're probably wondering why I'm giving it only 2 stars... Well, simply because "Meh. I've experienced better" totally sums up my opinion. She used strip wax, which gave me a bad reaction afterwards. My skin got irritated and red... it definitely was not a pleasant feeling. =( I prefer the no-strip hard wax that my usual waxer at TL Spa uses because it's less painful and it certainly has never given me a bad reaction like this before.
One good thing that came out of my experience was that I got 20% off for being a first-time client. But I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon... I'd rather stick with my usual waxer. I just wanted to give Pretty Kitty a try, and I did.
P.S. I'm allergic to cats... how ironic. :P -

I got a Brazilian from Patricia and she had me cracking up the whole time and did a terrific job. The results are amazing, I feel so good! Definitely going to become a regular here!

I wish this place would offer more discounts. I'm a fan, I come here regularly for Brazillians, but it gets pricy coming each 6-7 weeks as per their recommended schedule. There's no military discount.
I love my waxer, she makes me feel comfortable and is quick. She taught me about my particular skin. If you suffer a lot, as for more grapeseed oil. -

For my very first experience it was not as bad as i thought! It really helps when Trish would talk to me throughout the process of my brazilian, to help distract from the pain (which by the way was tolerable). It was well worth it considering I got my 50% off! From a coupon I found in a Buy 1 get 1 free book. Buy 1 Brazilian wax, get 1 free if you bring a friend! So me and my partner in crime went together and we will be coming back in 6 weeks! :)

I have now been to both locations and they are both awesome. I went to Tricia at the new Chula Vista salon and she was great. Not only do they make you totally comfortable there is little to no pain. I couldn't stop talking about this place so my good friend drove 2 hours to go with me. She loved it!

This place is great to get any type of waxing done, but they specialize in brazilian waxing. I've called last minute and they are able to book an appointment that same day you call. The reason I am giving it four stars is because they are very 'picky' when it comes to the appointment time. If you are not there at the exact time the reception girl will let you know in a 'bitchy' tone. What upsets me is that, they are not always on time, yet if you get there a few minutes late they have an attitude. But besides that everything else is great.l

I decided to go here since I tried the one here in Vegas. I'm originally from San Diego and so is Trish, the owner of PK, and I was in town for a couple weeks so I decided to go here b/c I was due.
My waxer was Lisa, beautiful Aussie gal. She was so sweet and she made me feel so comfortable during the entire process that it felt like 5 mins (though it was probably longer, I'm sure) and she was done! When I'm back in SD, and I am due for a wax, this is the location for me! Thanks Darlin'! -

In anticipation for my darling hubby's return home from deployment I decided I would do something I had never done before.
Brazilian Virgin no more!
I called this morning regarding walkin appointments and BOOM I had one ten minutes later. Lucky for me I live literally up the street so jumped in the truck and off I went.
It's SUPER easy to find especially for me since I can still get lost using a freaking GPS (don't ask). It's on the left hand side if you're going north on 3rd right next to Fuddruckers. Parking was easy since it was 1030 on a Saturday morning. I parked up front and used the meter but you could use the parking garage in the back for free.
When I walked in I was greeted by two girls. I wish I had gotten their names but alas I was too nervous to really remember much of the conversation.
So I'm in a room, undressed from the waist down. Not really nervous about a stranger seeing anything since I've had kids before and you lose all modesty once that happens.
The actual procedure is quick and virtually pain free but some spots I had to use colorful language. We talked the whole time and it seemed to go by quick. I was given a lot of good instructions and recommendations.
Bottom line my waxer was amazing.
The price was good since I got 2 for 1 from a local magazine. Woohoo for free stuff!
I'd recommend to anyone and will go back again next month.

I chose this place b/c of a special that the http://dailysave.com was promoting. I've heard of it from a couple friends but had my own waxing gal up in point loma. Figured I would try it since it's a lot closer. This place is nice and Lisa was great!!! She walked me through the whole thing; was very thorough- I guess that would be an appropriate word to describe her capabilites. haha let's just say I got my money's worth-she def wasn't lazy plus she was fast! She also gave me helpful hints for maintenance and even made sure I scheduled my next appointment for 6 weeks later. She's going on maternity leave soon so try and catch her but I'm sure the other girls are just as good..we shall see! I like this place though and will start coming here rather than driving up to point loma.

Listen... I've been meaning to write a review for this place. I'm a hairy-suburban-uncool-unhip-stay-at-home-mom caring for my autistic daughter and her 2 year old brother. I'm stressed and limited on time.
These chicks ROCK!!!! ok, the dude taking calls and cashiering rocks too...
Pretty Kitty is always appointment friendly, always nice, always clean, always FAST!! Call ahead and walk right in -- every time. (Metered parking right in front)
Thanks to owner Trish for coming to Chula Vista and bringing amazingly trained esthetecians with her. It's a nicely kept secret that well behaved young children can come with their mommies to their wax appointments. Trish is so extra gentle and carries the most gentle products that moms bring their teens for their first brow waxes too.
I thank you Pretty Kitty for letting me be the mom I want to be:

I came here cause it is closer to my house than to where i used to go and it was a last minute touch up that i needed before vacation. The availability was great, dont get me wrong i liked the place, but was disapointed with the quality of their wax.
The place is super cute and the staff so sweet and attentive. My waxer was nice kept the conversation flowing which was good, but i did feel she was a bit messy with the job and left me kinda patchy. I have somewhat sensitive skin and when i was laying down spread eagle and all and asked what kind of wax they used she replied : a cream like soft wax from Italy... my heart dropped... Grant it i should have asked before booking the appointment but lke i said... last minute.
So when she was all done i was not only swollen but red bloches everywhere. I dont think ill be going back because of the wax they use. I work in the beauty industry so im a bit educated on waxing and girls if you have sensitive skin find a place that uses Sugar Wax. Sugar Wax adheres to the hair not the skin like others and is most hypoalergenic and not to mention sanitary and not a bit of pain. If sugar wax isnt available find a place that uses hard wax....but over all the service was good -

One of the quickest and most thorough Brazilians I've gotten in San Diego. I only stopped going here because I felt PB was too far (I live near downtown...I'm spoiled) and I hate hate HATE driving on Garnet or Grand. However, I'm being lured back by some lackluster waxes I've gotten at the PK's competitors. With bikini season looming, I'll deffo be back soon...

I got my first ever Brazilian wax here. I was certainly nervous, but the girl who did my wax talked on and on which made me a little forgetful of the pain, haha. She made me feel comfortable though and even let me know when the worse was over. HA! Yes, the experience is painful but tolerable. I love their no double dipping rule with the wax! It made me feel comfortable about the place and was just more reassurance that this place is clean! Afterwards, she explained to me what to do & not do and recommended some products they had. I thought the service was excellent, especially with it being my first time and all. They are a little pricier than other places I have looked up, but they really are worth it! Every time I'm due for a wax, I certainly come back here! Plus, the name is too cute! haha!

So, after a terrible VM from Le Wax Boutique banning from their business for not calling to cancel my appointment *ahem* I decided to try the ever so popular Pretty Kitty ;-) What a snazzy little name right? Made my appt, and was running a little late after work actually. Got in, they checked me in, got on the table and tadow... to work she went. Wax sesh was over in 15 mins, it still hurt a little, but they're right, the 2nd time waxing is DEF not as bad as the first, pain was a good 4 out of 10. :) Lindsay was super fast - she chopped it up with me the entire time, which made me forget about the pain, and afterwards I rec'd a discount for it being my first time there. I went home happy... and with a pretty kitty ;)

I Love this place for waxing~! They do a FANTASTIC JOB, the main lady is FABULOUS she made me feel extreemly comfortable on my first brazillian and I even got a discount for going there for my 1st time. I bought a product that you can apply after waxing shaving anything you do that helps prevent ingrown hairs and helps the hair growth normally & it works great! I would definately recommend this place to ANYONE! I am so happy that they opened the new location in CHULA VISTA, it's nice and both places are clean and they'll give u a glass of wine or some water too.. it's real cool here.. My best experience waxing ever and I'll never go to another place again.. the prices are "ok" but you get what you pay for and indeed you'll be satisfied!! I was in & out in TEN minutes!! Trish is GREAT!! I love the pretty kitty~!

Awesome!
I started getting waxed at the P.B. location with Ginger and Trish, who are both fantastic. It can be a little bit of a drive from my neighborhood near downtown though, so I thought I'd give the Chula Vista location a shot since it's in my old hood and the appointment they had fit better with my schedule. It was as easy as it could be (considering what you're doing); Trish is really wonderful. The new location is larger and looks beautiful. There's really nothing that comes close to the quality in the South County area. If you're going to do this, Pretty Kitty is the place to go! -

Woo. So Lisa does my brows and brazillians now, and she's also super-fantastic. She's conversational, detail oriented, quick, comforting, and tries to keep things as pain-free as possible. My eyebrows are always perfect when I leave--even my wonky one, they don't yell at me for CONSTANTLY changing my appointments around or waiting too long before visits, and it's just always a great experience. Super-sweet and knowledgable staff, great decor, lavendar colored wax, just all-around awesome.

As far as waxing goes, this joint is pretty painless. I've been here a couple of times, and only the first time I felt a little discomfort. Though they recommend making an appointmnet, I seem to always walk in last minute and am able to get in there in no time. Prices seem to be the going rate, but they are fast and make the whole experience seem to be a breath of fresh air.... Needless to say, when I am done, I walk out with a Pretty Kitty.
