Excellent service. Had the eggplant parmesan. Great dish. Plenty of food. Drinks are also good. Atmosphere is romantic yet suited for families as well.

I'm a California girl now, but I grew up in a small coastal town in this area; as a result, it's only natural that when I think of home I think of fresh, flavorful seafood.  I'm pleased to say that in this department The Pasta House definitely did not disappoint! I ordered linguine with clams, scallops, mussels, shrimp and fish in a garlic and oil sauce.  The seafood was fresh and plentiful!  However, I have to say that when I ate a portion of it at the restaurant I was torn.  The seafood on its own was delicious, but the dish overall was lacking.  So, when I ate my leftovers this afternoon I added a little garlic, lemon, and salt and WHOA! Just adding those three ingredients turned a good dish into a spectacular dish.

The decor is warm and inviting with exposed wood beams, brick walls, comfortable booths, and a cozy bar area.  It's set up in such a way that it's able to accommodate large parties, which was perfect for my group when we dined here last night.  There were 15 of us in our party (including a 2 yr old), and the waitress handled us like a well oiled machine.  Which, I must say, is no easy feat seeing as how my family is a bit on the loud and crazy side.

Originally, I was going to give this place 4 stars, but I'm taking a star off for the lack of flavor in my pasta and the nasty gunk in my shrimp that weren't deveined.  Completely unforgivable in a restaurant like this -- eck!

Friends held their wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was fantastic! Food was AMAZING and the staff was friendly and accommodating - we had a lovely table in the back, felt like we had a private room! I hope to be back soon!

Absolutely LOVED this place, hadn't been in a long time. Try the dinner for two on Mondays, 2 Entrees, soup or salad and a bottle of wine or pitcher of Sangria, $39.95!!! WOW was it a big pitcher! Food was to die for, we will definitely be back.

came here on a Fri night.. seated fast. The decor is more cafe like. There were 8 of us. It seems to me one must be careful about what to order here. half of us were very happy with there food... I was one who was not happy. I got a pizza, and besides being small, it was so whimpy on toppings... plain at best. Another got the sword fish and I was not gonna even taste it, I could tell by the look on his face he was not happy. But we were invited out for a birthday and thought it was not gonna go well if we bitched. The shrimp and corn chowder was not good either and over salted. My girlfriend got a salad and was happy with it. Cant say I would return.......

When I finally came to reading about The Pasta House, I found that only ONE person had ended up reviewing it. This was surprising to me because The Pasta House has always kind of been a big thing. I hadn't been in a few years, and I came back tonight after their remodeling about a year and a half ago.

Okay, now down to the yelp business. The atmosphere of The Pasta House feels swanky, almost like they really want to come off that way either though they once were a somewhat boring and sloppy restaurant. Their were leather booths, Nice Black wood tables, candles, Nice and box-y light fixtures, and the gray back splash.

I went at about 7:30, and was immediately seated (But wait a minute: this was on a Wednesday and it was still kind of crowded..Be warned for weekends.) to a booth.

The warm bread that was served quickly after our seating was accompanied by a dip that looked exactly the same as the bread dip at The Waterfront Grille in New Bedford. The problem was was that the dipping sauce for the bread here was way too spicy and bland.

The menu seemed mostly based on one common ingredient: pasta. Everything pasta. The basic parts of the menu were the essential pasta dishes (pamadore, spaghetti, etc.), pizza (which was fairly big for a non-specializing restaurant), meat (usually which would end up on top of..You guessed it! Pasta) and seafood.

The seafood menu was still on op of pasta, but sounded much tastier. I originally ordered the Seafood Manicotti (lobster and scallops on top of marinara and angel hair) for eighteen bucks, but was cock-blocked when our nice waiter, (unnamed waiter), said that they were all out of that. He suggested the Shrimp, scallops, crab meat pan seared with cream sauce and linguini instead. That sounded amazing, so I just went with that. My mother got the Lobster Nerberg, which was apart of The Pasta Houses Lobster Fest for 17 dollars, and my brother got the Butternut Ravioli for 17 dollars.

When the soup that we ordered came to the table, I was little disappointed. I got the spicy meat soup. The cup was small, and the soup was just blah. Their was only one piece of meat in the whole soup. The waiter actually gave my mom a clam chowder on the house, either though it wasn't one of the two choices for the soup. I was starting to like this (unnamed waiter).

When our meals came, I was astonished by their huge servings. Well, maybe mine. My plate of gorgeous crab meat atop linguini, cream sauce, shrimp and scallops was fattening just looking at it. When I finally ate, my mouth needed surgery. The sauce was so creamy, the shrimp was so plump, the scallops cooked perfectly, and the crab eat sprinkled like a garnish. Pure Bliss. Ha.

When we finally got the bill, which I guessed correctly when we played our usual game of  "Guess the Check", we noticed that (unnamed waiter) left off my mom;'s second glass of wine.

Other than (unnamed waiter), the service was just so great. They were all really professional and cooperative. The Pasta House is a somewhat steeply priced, delicious and above all, good place to go eat out. It's great for get togethers and birthdays.

    I recommend going sometime soon.

Love the pasta house!  Like having a Boston or Providence restaurant in the south coast.  Mario and his staff do an amazing job making you feel welcome.  Great for an evening out for any occasion.

Going on a holiday to any restaurant is always a gamble. Mother's day dinner we decided to chance it and made 6:30 reservations here. We got to the restaurant a little early and we were given a pager. While we waited in the sitting area next to the doors and froze our toes off we noticed large groups of people leaving. A few groups of people who came in after us were seated a few minutes after the larger groups left. We are pretty patient and waited it out. Then 6:45 rolled around and someone got up and said something. The hostess said "your table is not ready yet" with a little bit of a 'tude. The other hostess/manager(?) cut her off and said "yes it is" and rushed us over to the round booth. First of all the trifold paper menus for mother's day were gross and had grease stains on them. C'mon did you not have enough printed out? My sisters and I got the clam chowder as an appetizer. My cup should have been called heavy cream with some potatoes. I had maybe 3 clams in mine. The bread they served was not their normal either....argh!! That really pissed me off. I got the Scrod with Saffron. LOL at the saffron because it was more like white fish that had orange rubbed on top of it. To boot it wasn't even hot! It was luke warm at best. Everyone at the table no matter what they ordered at the same 2 sides, mashed potatoes (which were decent) and asparagus. What the hell? I was so not impressed. I hate to bash restaurants but even the bathroom wasn't well maintained.

Wow, considering how packed the Pasta House was tonight (we had reservations; there was an hour wait for a table at 7:30), I'm surprised there's no review up here!  Is it just that citizens of the South Coast don't know about the wonder that is Yelp?

So, a group of friends and I went to the Pasta House tonight.  I had heard about this place from a co-worker and was interested in checking it out.
I had a delicious, fattening pasta dish of seared scallops over spinach fettucine with a cream sauce, finished with crumbled bacon.  I was hoping the flavor combination would recapture my beloved, but now gone from the menu, Bertucci's scallop bacon pizza.  It was close enough. :)
Along with dinner, bread and oil (red pepper-garlic-olive oil) are brought to the table, and you get a choice of soup or salad.  I had the minestrone, which had meat in it.  Weird.
The service was a bit off.  Our waitress did not ask for everyone's drink orders at once, and seemed to not understand splitting the check across more than one credit card.  I also got the feeling of being rushed, as plates were grabbed off the table without checking to see if we were done, and leftovers were dumped into styrofoam containers tableside.
Overall, the food was good and it was easy to get to (although a small parking lot -- I parked across the street in the Walmart lot), so I think I'd give them another shot, perhaps on a weekday night.

I love this place!!! Great food and I had a yummy pumpkin martini. I had to wait 30 minutes for a seat but it was well worth it and when the check came I was amazed how cheap it ended up being!

I wanted to like this place, I really really did.

Let me back it up, I live in Boston and my parents have a summer house in Fairhaven so I'm there most weekends. Overall, the restaurant quality in the town has not been impressive. We are big fans of the chowder house but only because of the oysters. We've tried many other places and haven't been impressed.

The Pasta House has been recently renovated and has an upscale bistro feel. The menu looks highly impressive, Italian seafood with a upscale twist.

My whole family orders seafood, tuna and swordfish. The tuna was cooked nicely but the risotto was sticky. I ordered veal saltimboda. The breading was gummy and had a strange texture while the sauce was oily and didn't have much flavor. It was disappointing. The salad that I started with was nothing out of the ordinary.

Overall, we won't be back to eat. Maybe to try some of the martini's on a rainy day but we'll see.

If you are from the area, try Margaret's and Elizabeth's, the best restaurants we've found around!!
