OMFG I am soooooooo in love with this place.
This is better than BevMo in Cali and better than my favorite place in Costa Mesa, CA. This is -the- Disneyland of all things alcohol.
You might think I'm a raging drinker, but I am not. I've still got left overs from a case of Fat Tire I bought back in February.
My first visit was yesterday, when we were exploring all of the CVGs offerings. We stumbled across this place and I said we had to check it out. I ended up meeting Andrew (if you're reading this, Haaaaaaayyy), who knows all things beer. He is ah-may-zing.
I ended up buying single bottles of Founders, a Michigan based beer, since I made a note that I enjoyed it while in Grand Rapids one night, as well as a bottle of the temporary special edition of Guinness (the 205?) and some of the Red Hook beers that I can't get in VA.
Tonight, I ended up going back to get a 6 pack of Tuschers, a German beer I also enjoyed while in Grand Rapids, and a 6 pack of the new Red Hook light beer. I'll be bringing all of these back to VA with me.
I told Andrew which beers I liked and he was able to give me some recommendations based on his assessment of my beer likes.
The employees there are very helpful...my friend was looking for a blue liquor that he didn't remember the name of. Andrew got another guy, who got another guy to go through all of the liquors to find the blue ones. Talk about service!
All the wine, hard liquor and beer from all over the damn place are under one roof here.
You will love it.
Party Source, Oh how I miss you!!! I moved to Connecticut a couple years ago and made the assumption that I'd be able to find something with at least a similar selection to the Party Source. So, so wrong. Whether you're looking for an obscure wine you read about, a hard-to-find microbrew or that wonderful cigar you had that one time; the Party Souce has it. How I miss the days of mixing and matching six-packs of hand-picked microbrews to take home and spend the weekend sampling and comparing. Cincinnatians, Northern Kentuckyans consider yourself the luckiest people on the face of the planet and dont' ever take the Party Source for granted. You are truly blessed.
This place is an absolute favorite of ours.
Great selection of beers, wine ,liquors at what are "bargain prices" for a Michigan resident. We always stop on the way to,or on the way back from Florida.
Their website offers some really good recipes and information on a variety of beverages.
Alex Gehler in customer service is a gem Thanks Alex
Party Source FTW.
Best Beer Selection, plus growlers with specialty rotating draught selection. Yeah, i said draught.
Great Wine selection with any style, country of origin, and price range you could want. Plus very knowledgable staff.
Great Whiskey (Bourbon, Scotch and Irish) selection
And if you're looking for something to munch on besides the usual chips pretzels and dips, they have that too. Hummus, sushi, stinky cheese, exotic salsas, whatever.
I prefer this place to Jungle Jim's because the selection is pretty much dead-even, but it's not so overwhelming and obnoxious (no crocs on sale here!)
What can I add except that this huge, super-sized liquor store with excellent prices also has cooking classes and sells cards and gifts!
As you enter the store, past the specials, you find a well-stocked gift and home goods area with items like aprons, coasters, bookmarks, decorative kitchen ware, ceramics, and more. It's all displayed in an attractive manner and seems like the buyer alternates the merchandise selection fairly rapidly. I have purchased many a greeting card here, as well as some unique gift items.
In this same vicinity is the cooking class area. I haven't taken a class yet, but plan to soon! I also like the specialty foods and party supply areas.
What can I say about the Party Source that hasn't already been said? Sure this is THE place to stock up adult beverages and celebratory decor, but I almost always go to Party Source for their amazing selection of specialty and gourmet food items. When you just can't make a trip to Jungle Jim's, this is best place to go for those hard to find items.
No matter who you're entertaining, you can find a wide selection of appetizers, hors d'oeuvres, canapes, and finger foods to impress your guests. I particularly like Party Source's selection of brie and pate. Add a nice bottle of wine and you've got a perfect summer picnic.
The ultimate adult playground...the Party Source has everything one could ever need to throw the greatest party, ever.
Party Source combines aisles and aisles of party supplies (banners, boas, shot glass necklaces) with aisles and aisles of party food (cheeses, crackers, other little nibblies) with aisles and aisles of alcohol. What could be better?
You'll find a cold beer cave bigger (and COLDER, wear a sweater) than the one at Jungle Jims at Party Source, along with a generous selection of warm beer. We picked up a six pack of "Horse Piss" to take to the Kentucky Derby next weekend.
Wine is somewhat lacking; liquor and beer are definitely the focus here. I personally was disappointed with the lack of selection in the Pinot Noir section. Wines are organized by type then alphabetized, so it's pretty easy to find what you're looking for.
My favorite part of the Party Source is the "Mini Bottle" section. This little aisle contains almost all liquors known to man in airline bottle proportions. Want to sample Patron without shelling out 98 bucks for the big bottle? For just a few dollars you'll have enough for a substantial margarita. These bottles are also great for sampling the newest flavor of Smirnoff or Absolut without committing to a larger jug. Make sure you don't miss this aisle, its right next to the check-out lane!
Cincinnatians still drive to Kentucky to get their liquor. But not because of any blue-nosed notion that you need to sin on the other side of the river.
Now they do it because Party Center is so damn big, cheap, convenient, and well-stocked.
The Party Source has the absolute best selection of wine, beer and liquor I've ever seen. More importantly though, the staff is extremely knowledgeable about the products they carry and can help you manage through such a vast collection of drinks. If you're in Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky even for a visit, you should stop in just see what I'm talking about.
I love you, Party Source... We've had such great times, and although I know I usually only use you for your handles of Everclear which are unavailable in the state of Ohio or for your vast selection of Vodkas, you're always in my heart.
Remember that one time you provided me with enough Everclear and Kool-aid to make our Where's Waldo party a success? Yea... Good times, Party Source... Good times...
I think alcoholics are not allowed within 500 feet of this place. If you want one-stop shopping for booze, here you have it. You can get your hangover-sized bottles of cheap vodka for your college bash, or you can pick some fine scotches and cigars for your business partners. You can grab fine wines for that dinner party or a box of Franzia for that frat brawl. Cases of Bud, singles of microbrews. The catalogue is complete.
It does have limitations. Some select bourbons can only be found at Cork-N-Bottle, and some breweries don't ship to Kentucky, so you'll have to consult Jungle Jim's or Dilly Deli (as if it's a burden to continue beer hunting elsewhere). But it also has all sorts of cheese, garnishes, cutlery, plates, cards, decorations, and whatever you need to throw your shindig.
Bottom line: if you have a half-hour and you still need everything because your boss made you stay late for no good reason on a Friday, the Party Source is your only option to completely prepare all at once. (Though you might encounter some long lines at that time. No worries, just sneak a few sips from that wine bottle while waiting. (no, that's not legal, sorry.)) You'll pay less for alcohol but more for decor and other adjuncts.
Party Source is pretty awesome. They have a HUGE selection of everything - beer, wine, liquor and even cigars (ick!).
I have called several times to check on wine availability and the staff is very knowledgeable.
Party Source is indeed a show-stopping mecca of booze, but let's be clear about this: volume is the name of the game. And with volume comes irritation.
I've made the mistake of trying to shop at Party Source on the weekends and basically couldn't push my cart without someone slamming into me. I've also been utterly disappointed at their wine selection (their Portuguese sparkling wines are limited to one or two, and the Prosecco was only cheap varietals) and wine prices (no better than the grocery store, at least on the ones I was looking for).
We also asked for a trendy new liquor (St. Germain) and two different staff had never heard of it. Seeing that I first read about it in the New York Times, it wasn't exactly a rare item. Neither of the staff offered to find out if they would be carrying it or if it could be special ordered.
Anyway, it's still the best selection of alcohol I've ever seen. Just be prepared to fight crowds (and college students buying jugs of Everclear) and look for things yourself.
really great store for all your party needs. cheaper than vast majority of liquor stores in Cincy and a very good selection of beers, fine KY bourbons and liquors.
The Party Source is the largest liquor store in the area, it's also a great place to go cheese shopping and wine tasting. They carry a bunch of home brewing supplies and offer an impressive list of half barrels. I'm always slightly overwhelmed when I look for wine, bourbon or chocolate. If it wasn't such a nice place It might seem comparable to a Wal-Mart super store in sheer magnitude. You can certainly find all the items Party Source has to offer at better prices somewhere else but if you live in the Greater Cincinnati area you've probably already found yourself party shopping here for convenience and selection. How else would anyone know how to get to Bellevue, KY?
If you are going to drink it or smoke it there is no better spot in the tri state to buy it. Awesome wine selection second only to Jungle Jim's. The best Beer selection with a massive cold room and keg selection. Nice Food section but nothing the get excited by. Top cigar room.
If heaven has a liquor store, it tries to look like this. I actually did the happy dance upon entering the beer cave. Those 1/16th kegs of high- quality brews are just the right size for an afternoon of recreating on the Ohio river.
Buzz-a-loo-ya!
Wow. This place is huge. Great selection of just about everything from paper plates to beer, wine, and liquor (except rum). Sort of in a sketchy neighborhood but worth the drive as I'm told you can't find much in the way of alcohol on the Ohio side of the river.
Yes, it's possible to buy liquor in Ohio, but good luck finding a place that has the selection and prices that the Party Source offers. The closest Ohio competor is probably Jungle Jim's, but these two stores are nearly 40 minutes apart and the primary reason to visit Jim's is not liquor. The Party Source has one of the largest refrigerated alcohol containment systems in the country (forget the one on the first floor, almost the entire top floor is refrigerated). Great beer, liquor, and cigar selections; the wine selection is only surpassed by Chicago's fabulous Sam's Wine and Liquors. Also, don't forget to stop by for one of the many cooking or tasting classes offered in their state of the art kitchen. Some of the best Thai food I've had in Cincinnati was in a Party Source cooking class.
To friends of mine that have never heard or been to this place, I describe it simply as "The mecca of alcohol". That is precisely what it is, any type liquid you can imagine is sold here. They have the largest supply and variety of beer and liquor that I have ever seen. They also have a walk in refridgerator that houses kegs and selected beers. There is also a seperate humidor for cigars. It is good to go here and stock up because Kentucky does not tax alcohol or tabacco. It is right across the river from Cincinnati, and 2 minutes from the I-71 exit. Even if you don't drink, they sell items that can cater to any kind of party. Please go here and marvel at its' splendor.
Party Source also has the best cigar selection in the Tri-State (KY, OH, IN). Every year they are the only tobacconist who gets all of Cigar Aficionado's Top picks (except Cubans of course). They have the best cigar tasting in the city every Tuesday too. They do not carry many cigar accessories however.
