Your average mall w/ all the perks of a full sizer but nothing extraordinary.
Mostly indoor complex featuring a massive food court, ice skating rink, interior & exterior parking, theater, and many kiosks as well as stores & department stores.
As with most malls, this one has many outside stores surrounding it.
I do have to say, though, that something about this malls annoys/depresses me. And it's not just the swarms of little teenagers with no where else to hang out because Arlington sux!
Maybe I'm just spoiled by the awesomeness of CA malls..
(Heheh).
Skating rink, Movie Theaters, Food Court, Lots of variety in shops, clean mall, and plenty of parking spaces... I've got no complaints. I'm not sure why there's such negative reviews on here, but it's mostly due to the fact that there are many teenagers who "hang out" at the mall. I'm not sure where everyone else hung out when they were younger, but shopping malls are where everyone I knew while growing up hung out.
Anyway, shop here. It's not as bad as people say, and it's better than driving really far to another mall that has the same shops.
I agree that this mall was much better before they expanded it. There are too many kids there now, and it's impossible to do any shopping on a weekend. It's so crowded that I get claustrophobic when I go there, and I feel like I'm in a cattle drive, but a cattle drive of preteens dressed like hookers and making out with their boyfriends. Being at this mall makes me feel old, because I constantly want to tell these kids to put some clothes on or ask where their parents are. If you're coming from North Arlington, I think you're much better off going to North East Mall in Hurst.
In defense of the Parks Mall, it's pretty decent if you can manage to go at a time when kids are in school.
Good stores. Great movie theaters. But everyone else hits it right on the dot about the customers. But i guess you can't really call them customers because they don't shop. It's crowded full of teenie boppers who get all hoochie-fied and gangster wanna be guys who alll just walk around and try to act hard. But then i guess you can't call it walking either because they all have to walk side by side at speeds that grandmas on walkers could exceed, blocking the entire walkway. And don't think about trying to walk around or through them because you will infringe on the aura of "hard gangsterness" or interrupt their "mack game" on the 12 yr old girls who dress like hookers. and the security guards are mediocre. I think half of the time, they're also checking out the 12 yr old girls. And when they do act, they overdo it because their inability to grasp that they couldn't pass police academy and had to become rent-a-cops instead.
If you do go to this mall, I suggest avoiding weekends. And on weekdays, you may want to go before the kids get out of school if you want to have a pleasant shopping time.
Used to be nice before the made it too huge and added an ice rink. It gets scarier each time I go. There are a ton of middle income shops there (gap, dick's sporting goods, abercrombie) but very few upscale stores. It's extremely suburban and where people hang out because they're bored and there's a movie theater there now.
i went to this mall for the first time yesterday. i was actually more impressed than i thought i would be....being that my fave mall is the galleria (i have high shopping standards.) i was pleased with the atmosphere. lots of kids, but it was a sunday. i really like the whole area in which the mall is located. (the surrounding businesses, the cleanliness of the area.) plus, the mall has some really good stores and seems like a nice mall. one of the better malls in the dallas area; but nothing beats the galleria
How does one rate a shopping mall? They are all hermetically-sealed, sterile collections of chain stores and restaurants. They depress the hell out of me. However, as far as malls go, this one is sort of OK because they have a nice skating rink and a comfortable, spacious movie theater. But no pet store!
