    Atmosphere 9, Appetizers 8, Entrees 9, dessert 6
A restaurant of this quality should not be cutting corners on product and the foie gras served as a very expensive special appetizer was clearly less than top grade and was actually duck foie gras rather than goose.  The escargot was an excellent deconstruction, snails served alongside a roasted head of garlic and a seasoned cube of butter.  It did lack the necessary dipping bread.  Entrees ordered consisted of a 3 small plate combo and an Australian Kobe Beef topped with foie gras mousse and mushrooms, with a side of Delmonico potatoes.  On the recommendation of wait staff, the small plate combination  included Black Noodles (Lobster, Lemon, Saffron), Ahi tuna, with white soy, red onion and black salt; Peking Duck Salad, w cashews, crunchy noodles and Chicories (The high point of the meal).  The Australian Kobe Beef could just as well have been Prime American Black Angus with perhaps better results.  The foie gras mousse was insipid and needed some inspiration.  Our waiter offered to prepare a Bananas Foster as dessert and in so doing proved Paragon is not Commanders Palace in New Orleans.  We tend to dine early and arrived to an uncrowded dining room which as the night progressed became reasonably full and exceedingly noisy, which may be the fault of the domed ceiling.  The bill with two drinks came to $238.00 without tip, expensive but not unexpected.
If I have to chose that special dining again at Foxwoods, I think I will have to go with CraftSteak, at the MGM.  A great foie gras and amazing wagyu steaks.

Definitely a very upscale restaurant with a classy victorian-ish theme. Great food- loved the goat cheese salad, top notch service- the bus boy could not pick our napkins up off the table with his hands, he actually used some type of silverware and a tray.  If your there for the sunset you will see an amazing view as this restaurant is on the 24th floor and surrounded by windows. We had a deal for one nights stay and a 3 course dinner for 2 at the paragon and we'd definitely book that package again.

The worst gourmet dining experience in my life!  Trust me, saying another word is unnecessary.  I suspect this restaurant will be closing soon.  Jacket & tie on website, but t-shirts & shorts in reality.  Worst menu items: Heirloom tomatoes, Buffalo Mozzarella, EVOO, PX Vinegar; Dry Dry Aged Kansas City Sirloin, Roasted Portobello, Pancetta, Roquefort.
Worst non-menu items: table bread was stale.
Servers were clearly "nice" but not knowledgeable and therefore unable to be helpful.
I never thought these words could come out of my mouth, but, "The steak was putrid."
My guest was "family" and for that I was fortunate.

Paragon is the highest-end of the high-end restaurants in the Foxwoods complex, sitting on the 24th floor of the Grand Pequot Tower, down one flight on a grand spiral interior staircase from the high-rollers only Stargazer private casino.  Dinner here, with a bottle of wine from the low end of the list, a shared appetizer and dessets, and one cocktail a piece, will set you back some $200.

No big deal, you'll make it right back at the craps tables afterwards!

Aside from waiting a bit too long in the lounge for our reservations, and for the lounge hostess getting my drink order wrong (straight up in a rocks glass does *not* mean "with ice" thankyouverymuch, it just means I hate martini glasses), our dinner was impeccable.  Everything was just so: service was prompt and attentive, but not rushed; food was prepared perfectly, with flavor bursting out of every bite thanks to the little extras that the best chefs will throw in (little bits of thai chiles in the creamy sauce accompanying the fish, bacony smoke in the wheatberries supporting the duck breast).

Lovely live piano music playing the background sets a romantic mood.  Mostly older crowd, but some folks in their 30's thrown in for good looks.  Views are underwhelming since it's night outside and lights inside, so you really can't see out the windows unless you're sitting next to one.

Wine list ranges from a few $45 bottles up to a few $4,000 bottles, with most selections in the $100-$200 range.  We picked a winner at about $65, it certainly can be done if you know what you're looking for.

Paragon was boring. I found it to be overhyped and underwhelming with very little innovation. Suckage to the max.

The Paragon is the flagship restaurant at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino.  It is located on the  next to top floor, the 24th, of the Grand Pequot Tower.  I normally wouldn't comment on a restaurant that I have only been to once but since I won't be going back I will.

The Paragon is a beautiful restaurant, richly appointed, spacious seating, everything saying quality. There are murals back lit on the ceilings that add to the feeling of space.  Alas, what is missing is a view.  I booked it thinking that a restaurant on 24th floor would have a great view, but there are only a few windows with tables by them, and the way the lighting works at night you really can't see out, not that here is anything to see. So don't expect a Manhattan experience gazing out on a glittering sky line.

Paragon bills itself as the only 7 diamond restaurant in the State. Sorry.  Its good, not great, and has a couple of problems. I started with the Lobster Chowder, billed as a true lobster bisque ($10),  It was good but lacked the deep nutty brown color and intense lobster taste that a seriously reduced lobster bisque should have. For a main course I had a Wild Boar special, which was a large perfectly cooked grilled chop, accompanied only by a smidgen of an earthy sauerkraut.  Veggies are a al carte like a steak house.

Here comes the problems.  The server neglected to mention prices for the specials, the boar was $45, which I wouldn't have complained about.  My dining partner however ordered a special foe gras appetizer prior to her tuna entree ($28).  The tuna was accompanied by a very small portion of basil mango sticky rice which was far too al dente.  The issue came when we got the check and the foie gras, which wasn't that special, turned out to cost $40.  Now I have had Foie Gras at Daniel, Jean Georges, most the the 4 star places in Manhattan and never paid more than $30, usually $22-24.

I got no satisfaction when I complained to the server and then I asked that she send the captain over.  After hearing me out he did the right thing and deducted the dish from my bill.  This was the first time I had ever complained about the price of a dish at a restaurant.  And I have eaten at all the Micheiin 3 star restaurants in Paris, and all of the NYTimes 4 star restaurants in New York, except for Per Se where I can't seem to get a damn reservation.

We finished with a dessert sampler which was entirely forgettable.

The wine list was so so.  We got lucky and had an absolutely delicious Rombauer 2005 Cab for $70 which was reasonable.

The tab before tip with the foie gras deducted was $205.  Which is in line with what the restaurant is about.

A better choice at Foxwoods might be the latest outpost of Tom Colicho's Craftsteak which just opened in the adjacent MGM Grand, and received 3 stars in the Connecticut issue of the NYTimes this past Sunday.  Its where I will try next when I go back to Foxwoods (not for the gambling for the shows-David Byrne was awesome).

    AAA Four Diamond Award

The view and live piano music is on par with the award, but the food is not. I have been to another AAA Four Diamond Award winning restaurant in Connecticut and they are not equal. Back to the view, it's fall here and all around are orange/yellow/bare trees. I grew up in the South so I'm not used to seeing a real fall season. So this view was pretty incredible for me.

Chocolate Martini - First time having it and was pleasantly surprised.
Taste of Paragon - 3 course surprise appetizer - liked 1/3 of it
Lobster Bisque - stingy on the lobster (only about a spoon full)
Boneless Kobe short ribs - great
    wild mushrooms - okay
    white chocolate dessert - good

Wow! We went to the Paragon before seeing a show at Foxwoods. The live pianist played wonderful music, the ambiance and decor was beautiful, the staff was attentive and very sensitive to our show time, and the food was amazing!!

I got the French Lace martini, an appetizer of the most tender fresh oysters I've ever had, a complimentary sample of crusty salmon with delicious red sauce, and my main course was roasted chicken.

My boyfriend and I shared side orders of cheesy mac and potatoes au gratin.  The cheesy mac was SO good!  I would have eaten the whole pan.

At the end of the meal, the server brought out a complimentary dessert plate for each of us!  The sampler included chocolate and white chocolate mousse, goat cheese cake, and creme brulee (my favorite of the three).

My boyfriend got the steak and the quail appetizer.

Both of us LOVED this restaurant.  A truly romantic, delicious night!

    4 stars, heres the deal

ok, high 4 stars, i cant give 5 cause it was way $$$ and its not like im made of money lady!

i gotta say, they do know what they're doing.  the location was very nice, on top of the tower they got there.  so we wifey, inrents and uncle&auntinlaws went there as it was there idea, good idea.  we started with a libation at the globe bar you see in the commercial, you never see that globe bar cause only those with really deep pockets come up here.  the drinks were great, maybe pricey, wouldnt shock me, but they were really good, i guess that's enough!

so we sit down and have a nice buzz going, lets get some wine...wine list please.  pretty extensive, i let it up to someone else to pick, fine by me.  so they come by with the "chef sample" and sit three morsels of goodness on our tasting plate, i guess this was an extra build in feature.  i only remember the sweet and sour chicken thing they put on my plate, very tasty.  the bread/rolls came next also very good as you would expect.   i also guess as the inauntsalaw come often they requested their favorite waiter, good idea cause he was very attentive, as you would expect at a top shelf place as such, no snooty at all.

as far as entrees, well lets just say you should care about the cost cause if you do you will miss out on the whole experience, which it was.  i believe i got fillet, i should have gotten the king crab, but i didnt, cognitive dissidence to the T.  they also had kobe beef which as anyone will tell you is not the real article but a very hyped item imo..to each is own.  i cant even remember if we got dessert cause by now uncle in law had ordered the 3rd bottle of wine and i was blitzed.

great meal, however the bill came over and well, i was hoping the adults would have fought over whose paying, not the case  :(  why isnt that the case!!!!

ok ,no worries, if you have the means or if you just hit the super 7 jackpot, dine so fine!

One of the best restaurants I've ever dined in. My girlfriend got us tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld at Foxwoods for my birthday so I went online to look at places to eat in the casino. Since she doesn't eat meat and I eat anything I thought Paragon would be a good choice as they have plenty of seafood selections. I requested a window seat on my reservation and that was honored but unfortunately this time of year by 5:30 it was too dark out to see anything. That did not hinder our meal though as the service and food were both exquisite from start to finish. We started off with a bottle of Malbec and we were served some bread and a fried oyster in a sweet and spicy sauce compliments of the chef. We then split the buffalo mozzarella and tomato salad appetizer. The mozzarella tasted so fresh and the tomatoes were ripe and delicious. We both ordered the lobster which was served over a squid ink linguini.  It was the best lobster I've ever had. Cooked perfectly, not chewy and extremely flavorful. The saffron oil it was served with really complimented the taste of the lobster very well without overpowering it. The linguine was also delicious. We had three different people serving our table, constantly refilling our water and checking up on us without being disruptive. All in all the whole dining experience was fantastic and worth every penny. Would like to return one day but unfortunately the rest of the casino is pretty awful and overpriced.
