I agree with Gina G. I too was expecting some outstanding soup, but instead found some basic, generic soup. :( I went here hoping they'd have some kind of creamy tomato soup but no such luck. Instead I ended up getting some chicken vegetable soup and a veggie panini. The panini was better than the soup and if I were to go back here I'd probably have that again before I had soup. There wasn't enough variety for me. I expected better choices. I wouldn't go out of my way to return here even though it's very close to me.

I think the problem with places like these is that you expect somekind of natural reaction to happen in your mouth after sampling the soup. Well guess what...there's no magic! No fireworks! Just soup. It's good soup. But still just soup. Don't get me wrong I love soup. I'm the person that always asks what the soup of the day is at restaurants when most people don't bother.

I had the crab bisque and my bf had chili. Both were delicious but my soup was like $12. Seriously that is too much for soup. Even at a five star restaurant the soup would not cost that much. I paired it with a wrap and got a combo which wasn't rediculiously priced. The wrap was good but overall I wasn't stuffed after eating half a wrap and a cup of soup. This is a little chain place where you walk to the counter and order. Prices should not be that high. They serve your soup with a piece of fruit and a little chocolate. Nice touch but still..the price. I'm not past it.

If you're in the area, try SoupMan cafe. By the way, they don't yell at you. They don't care how you order and the place really is just a sandwich shop. Seinfeld, you lied to me!

A Soup, Salad, and Wrap chain that is owned by the (in)famous Al Yeganeh of Seinfeld Soup Nazi fame.  The sausage gumbo was very good.  The Lobster Bisque my wife had was OK, too sweet with a bit too much sherry in it.  My parents had (I think), the Turkey Chili which was slightly above average. Soup comes with a choice of bread (the multi grain was very good) and a lindt chocolate.  A good place to pick up a quick lunch, but not necessarily a destination restaurant.

It was very busy when we went on a rainy day around lunch time on Super Bowl Sunday.  They definitely need a location in downtown Chicago.  Soupman would do monster business in the loop.
