The sandwiches here are good.  The give A LOT and the make them BIG.

I usually would go at lunch.. It gets pretty busy, but it's not that bad.  Just show up around 11, instead of 12 I guess?

Also, I'm usually able finish only half of my sandwiches... and it's usually the 6" ones that I get.  I don't know how some of these people are able to finish the large 10" sandwiches.. but more power to them! :)

One of my favorites!

Have been a customer for years, and will continue to be for years to come. Great sandwiches, chips, and all you can drink soda.....lots of different sandwiches to choose from, so try them all and pick your favorite! Would recommend the richmond or the italian combo.

Staff is friendly and even when this place is busy, your sandwich will come out fast.

If you want a serious sandwich with fresh meat, all the fixings this is your spot. I work near by so when hunger came a calling I was pleasantly surprised when the yelp crew pointed me to this coastal jem.

Being from back east I miss the NY deli seen, sammys named after their creators are always a nice touch, plus their hot sandwichs...like the hawaiian and the Chevy Andy....The Chris....your TLC with BLT...oh and you can combo it up with chips and a soda for a few more bills.

Great sandwiches. Fresh, huge and tasty! I don't think I've ever ate something that was bad at this place!

The only bad thing is, there's too many sandwiches on the menu so you're looking over it for like 10 mins to decide.

Don't go during the lunch hour though, you won't find a seat or table.

The sandwiches are made to order fast too. You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches, it's just up to your preference on what you want to eat at that perticular moment.

Best sandwich shop in the local area. The bread is soft and fresh and the meats are all Boars Head brand which are one of the top deli meats. Hot sandwiches are all good and the turkey meatball sub is a must try. Funny though, you wouldn't expect sandwiches this good to come from a place owned and operated by Asians.

HOLY SHNIKES!!!

After having Rinaldi's bookmarked to try for I don't even know how long, and after repeated recommendations by some buds (thanks Lei B, Ralph W and Mei C!), I finally made the (short) trek to downtown El Segundo for a sampling... not a far trek because I happen to work in El Segundo.

I literally just took the first bite of my sando, and say DAMN this thing is bomb!  I ordered the 10-inch Airport Bergmann ($6.50), and it's a monster of a sando that has meatballs (perfectly seasoned), pastrami, pepperoni, marinara sauce (hearty and with a nice kick), and mozzarella (but not so much to be overwhelming).  I actually substituted extra pastrami instead of the pepperoni (wasn't in the mood for pepperoni today).  The sandwich is wrapped in a nice, freshly-baked bread roll, which was lovingly toasted to perfection.

Fortunately I ordered for pick-up, because at 1:30pm on a Tuesday the line was loooooong.  Everyone who works there is efficient... not brusque, just efficient.  Because they're SUPER busy.

Considering the quality of the meats, cheese and bread, and also taking into account the price (SO CHEAP!), I have to go 4 stars.  This is DEFINITELY one of my go-to lunch spots from now on.

Oh where have you been all my life? For the 33 living years I could have eaten here hundreds of times already. All I have to say  is THE GODFATHER!!! A warm sandwich of heaven. Steak, bacon, salami, pepperoni, and traded capicola for percuitto, lettuce, tomato and melted provolone cheese on a soft roll. Only $6.75 with boar's head meat. You cant go wrong. My only gripe is that most of the available tables were still dirty and as well as the self serve soda machine area. Maybe they should wipe up the tables more often. Just a thought...

Rinaldi's isn't the greatest sandwich in LA, but it's definitely the best in El Segundo. Fresh ingredients, large portions, lunch lines out the door.

You know its a great restaurant when there's a line to order food!! Well, most of the time, right? Rinaldi's uses premium meat, Boar Heads Meat. Boar Heads is Pavilions (is owned and one step higher than Von's) choice of brand meat! Rinaldi's also use fresh soft baked bread!!! Unlike Bay Cities(hard as rock bread).  Every morning they get a shipment in. You'll always get a Delicious fresh sandwich!!!! Great Sandwiches at Great Prices. Of course Rinaldi's isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. It definitely is mine!

Boar's Head meats are low in Sodium, no MSG, backed by American Heart Association Certified, Feingold's Association, and American Diabetes Association.

I'm gonna make this short and sweet......

I occasionally work on a film set in the neighborhood.  We all get excited about ordering lunch from Rinaldi's.  I've not heard one crew member complain about their food, and crew guys/gals are picky.  It's always outstanding and they have lots to offer.

I certainly wish this place was near my house, I'd be a 1000 pounds already

Rinaldi's is a funny place because it's a straight-up sandwich shop with Italian tendencies.... Run by a large Cantonese family! Don't you love America?

Anyway apparently Chinese people know how to make some BOMB freakin sandwiches, because we got two hot ones (the Wild Bill and the Fat Boy, haha great names for their sandwiches btw) and we were lickin' our chops clean. That meat on there is soooooo good. The bacon is crispy, the lettuce is fresh, and the sauces are awesome. No fries here, they do a bag of chips on the side.

Two 6" sandwiches with combos was $19. The "small" was a pretty good size! The large is 10" on a sub instead of a roll, which I didn't try but their rolls are pretty good. Interesting bread, I've never had a sandwich on that before.

There's some seating outside and a very eclectic collection of chairs and tables inside.

You seriously can't go wrong here, from their immense menu to the down-home feel of not just Rinaldi's but of El Segundo in general. Plus you gotta love weird Chinese shit and pictures of Lamar Odom all over the restaurant.

Rinaldi's serves solid home-style sandwiches. Their sandwiches are all things you could make at home with pretty basic ingredients (no aioli or tapenade spreads, no special cheeses, etc), but this statement is in no way meant to detract from Rinaldi's awesomeness. My boyfriend & I were walking down Main St., trying to find a place to eat - our noses found it for us - this place smells amazing! The menu has soooo many sandwiches on it, and there is pasta/deli food. I got the small vegetarian sandwich & the green salad. Good lord, the small sandwich would be a large anywhere else. It was SO thick, and hella satisfying. My boyfriend got the chevy andy, which was giant & full of stuff. Their sandwiches have rather interesting names, which makes reading the menu kinda fun.

Rinaldi's is the perfect place to go for thick, solid, quality sandwiches.

...Enter their facility from the street entrance, turn right, look at the wall, locate the picture of the two skydivers.  This picture sums up Rinaldi's clearly and accurately.  Their quotes are as follows:

1. "A Rinaldi's sandwich is at the end of my rainbow."
2.  "Rinaldi's is better than Sex."

How can you go wrong?
I recommend HOT SANDWICHES.  Get anything with an egg on it.

I think if you're not ready to order this place can be a little intimidating and so can the lunchtime crowds but once you get past that it's GREAT, everything is fresh and tasty. I really like a sandwich that I can use as a steering wheel or as a spare tire if I need to and the round sandwiches here can do that. The breakfast sandwiches are just as big and I've ruined lunch plans many times by filling up on one of those first but it was worth it every time.

If you're a regular here, be prepared for some f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c service.

If it's your first time, bring a jacket.  The cold shoulder they'll give you is a little chilly.

But who needs warm service at a sandwich counter?  Order your sandwich, order your drink, order some chips (if you think you'll need them - you probably won't) and tuck into the best damn sandwich you've ever had.

These sandwiches are magical.   Get the Fatboy (meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, marinara and mozzarella all melted together) - you won't regret it.

This place is one of the reasons I love working in El Segundo. I can call and pick up my order and return to work in less than 15 minutes. They also deliver within two miles ($5 extra if it's over two miles) but with a $12 minimum order.

They have a huge selection of hot and cold specialty sandwiches. A couple of my favorite hot sandwiches are the Chris Club (grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, avocado, bacon, and cheese), Pauly's Special (ground turkey with egg whites, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and mozarella cheese), and the Troll (Eggplant parmigiana, ground turkery with egg whites, marinara sauce, and mozarella cheese).  All of their cold sandwiches are great too, like the Ragin' Cajun (Cajun turkey, cooked bell peppers, onions and cheese) and USC Trojan (Prosciutto, salami, pepperoni, oil & vinegar, lettuce, tomato, italian dressing and provalone cheese).

A big plus is that they do NOT skimp out on any of the ingredients and they use Boar's Head brand products. Only bad thing is that they don't have wheat bread.  But their 6" rolls are very soft and moist, just the way I like it. If work didn't get in my way sometimes, I'd come here everyday of the week!

You would think that with the name of the place.. you would see some Italian's behind the counter... and slicing their proscuitto and stuff... but all i found was vietnamese ladies... slicing up the meat for the sandwhiches.

I guess it makes sense... vietnamese are known for their banh mi. And they are good in making french bread... due to french invasion..

I gave them a three stars because the sandwich that i ordered " The mail man" does not have much  flavor to it... just plain mayo, lettuce and tomato. I was searching for " goodness gracious! i gotta have this sandwich again..." but i couldn't see it within me..

But then maybe i'm ordering the wrong sandwich.

I will give them a 4.5 for the value of the money paid... it was a HUGE 10" sub... for just $8.

the service wasn't all that either.. i asked the lady  which one is good?? and she just said A has proscuitto and B has salami.. DOh!! i can read that... i want you to sell me which one is good..????

Would i be back again? maybe.... but don't count on it

This place quite literally has a sandwich for everyone.  Quantity and quality are not traded off here, no matter what you order you will leave full and satisfied.

Best cold sandwich would be the "USC Trojan", usually prepared and ready to eat in less than 2 minutes.  Imagine a 8 or 9 inch loaf of freshly baked french bread stuffed with tons of meat, cheese, and a little lettuce.  It's all dressed with an oil and vinegar dressing.  If you aren't a big fan of mayo....this is the way to go.  Simple, and delicious.

If you have time to wait longer (or the foresight to call ahead) and are craving a warmer offering, I have two words..."Airport Bergman".  This sandwich combines pepperoni, pastrami, and Italian meatballs, drenches them in marinara, and smothers the aforementioned ingredients with mozzarella.  This sandwich is not for the faint of heart, those with hypertension, or those who plan to partake in any form of physical activity or additional food intake in the next 6-7 hours....but it's god damn delicious and truly a unique offering that must be tried.

Parking isn't too difficult to find, even during the busiest lunchtime hours and the staff is friendly, helpful, though a bit intimidating for those who aren't sure what they want...so take your time to study the menu before you get to the counter.

The fellas in my office were always bringing back sandwhiches from Rinaldi's, so I decided to try it once and now they've got me hooked too.

I *only* eat the USC TROJAN, which is pepperoni, salami & prosciutto.  Stuff it in a nice soft bun, add some tomato, lettuce, oil and vinegar and it's a real treat.

I never eat inside the restaurant, mainly becuase it's so drab and there's no A/C.  But the staff is very friendly and always has my order ready to go whenever I arrive.

Have to agree on the sandwich quality.  Better than average for a sandwich shop.  Bread isn't quite as good as Bay Cities, but they use the same meats (Boar's Head).   Their "godmother" attempt isn't what Bay Cities is either, but then again I was never a big fan of that "mess" anyway.  Stick w/the basics.  Turkey, roast beef etc., and try to avoid the oily ones.   You won't have the craziness over-hype lines that you have at B.C.'s as well..... Big plus.

As far as service, the dude that makes the sandwiches is really nice.  Not so for the oriental gals who take your order.  If "couldn't-care-less" were a facial expression, they've got it.   Even borderline hostile.  Kind of like "Hurry up, what you want? (so I can go back and read my newspaper.)"  That's the only offputting part about this place.  I'm kind of hoping they aren't the owners because I wouldn't want to give them my business if that's the case.  If you're working at, or own, a sandwich shop and you're that surly, then get another line of work.   Life must really suck huh?   I don't mind a little attitude when ordering a sandwich at a deli - in fact, all such shops SHOULD have it.   But this kind of "nasty Tiger Lady" attitude isn't amusing.   Loses a star for that reason alone.   Cheer up honey!  Your sandwich shop has customers (that you might want to keep).

I'm happy.

In all my years living in Marina Del Rey, I hardly ever remember going to El Segundo. Nicely wedged between LAX on the north side, El Segundo water treatment stuff to the west, a Chevron refinery to the south, this place exhibits a quiet community feel. I think it's because there are no major roads driving right through it, and it really only has one main street-ish area.

When I first ventured to El Segundo for eats, I went to Big Mikes, and was severely disappointed. So I was happy Rinaldi's went completely the opposite way!

It was great!!!!!!

I mean, Bay Cities is probably my favorite deli spot, but Rinaldi's is definitely on the list. I had the Italian Special, size small (6 inch) They serve it on a round roll, that looks like they plucked it from Princess Leia's head... It was tasty! Kind of like a subway sandwich times 1000, better ingredients really accounts for difference in taste! Comes with a drink and bag of chips! I had a bite of my boyfriends cajun-something sandwich it was good too!

We came at lunch, there was a line, but it moved quickly. They were really fast making the sandwich itself too, and they brought it to our table! YAY! The inside isn't spectacular, not trendy, not modern, but just the way I like it, gets the job done in a comfortable and unpretentious way.

I'm totally coming back here one of these days!!!!!!

This place is a great stop for a sandwich at lunch, avoid coming here during the weekdays because it's packed with mainly engin-nerds from the Chevron plant, Raytheon and Northrup.

Monday through Friday there is always a line out the door but for some reason they still manage to make your sandwich quick and find you seated somewhere in this packed deli.

Seating is also very limited during lunch rush and I suggest studying up on the menu before going to the register to order, if not then prepare to get  glares from your peers and the staff.  I love the USC sandwich (hate the school love the sandwich go figure).

If you love meaty, messy, over stuffed sandwiches this place is for you.

This is really a no frills deli.  They are all about the meat... I had order the fireman special it wasn't so special...way better pastarmi sandwichs at the Hat...

My friend got the Godfather... now that was a sandwich! the bacon was cooked just right super crispy without being brunt ... I didn't care for the bread ... it didn't really hold up well to the greasy and juice from the warm sandwich and become a big mess that you had to eat w/ a fork =(

over all good sandwich but nothing I would drive 45 mins for....

Skip the Mac Salad.   It's all about the sandwiches here - tasty, filling and all with a fun naming convention.  From turkey to bacon  to meatballs to sausage to cappicola.  It's all here, boar's head certified, waiting for you to consume.

Get the "IronMan" before your maration (Chix Parma).   Or the "Fat Boy" because you deserve it (Meatball Pepperoni).  Or the "Troll" because she's beautiful on the inside.  My personal fav is the Reuben or the Fireman Special.

Be prepared for the noise and crowds during lunch hour.  They're there to GRUB ON A GOOD SUB.

Yeah, we all have our personal favorite to get that perfect Philly CheeseSteak, Pastrami Sub, or Meatball Sandwich.   But to have such a large selection, all in one location, pretty damn tasty, wallet-friendly with the only pay off is the Philly Cheese isn't from your favorite sandwich shop x, smacks around the idea of going anywhere else.

And nowhere else in the world could you get your ass kicked by "IronMan" or get an offer by "The Godfather" that you couldn't refuse and have a full belly and a smile on your face.

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I'm sorry, but I wanted to like this place - lots of good reviews. The food is frozen, barely reheated - nothing fresh between the 5 of us except maybe the lettuce with was barely green and in hunks too big to eat without cutting up. The chicken parmigiana - YUCK. Rubbery chicken pieces, obviously frozen, cooked, frozen, thawed. I *think* there was 2 teaspoons of sauce under there (being generous here), so it was very dry. The cheese tortellini might have been nice if it had cheese in it - or on it - somewhere. Again, frozen product which they ran through hot water, just barely, as it was barely lukewarm. The cheese ravioli, which we requested vegetarian (and specifically asked if it was a marinara sauce), came out with meat sauce on it. When we pointed that out they said "yeah, marinara meat sauce". They unhappily took it to the back, scraped out most of the meat sauce and dumped some marinara on it... chunks of meat were still under the bottom ravioli. Then they came back, dropped it on the table and said "you have to tell us if you want vegetarian". The people were surly - never a smile.

We tried to like it; we were very polite about asking them to change out the meat sauce; smiles to the staff just brought blank stares. One of our party was an elderly lady on a walker who went back to use the restroom. The woman running the place was very rude about it and asked us why we weren't moving faster.

I almost always will give a place a second try - but not this time. Not one single thing good to say about this place.

Great place. Good food, service, et all. The bread is always fresh, and the sandwiches are filled with fresh Boar's Head deli cuts. Good stuff.

The pasta's are pretty good too, although sandwiches seem to be the speciality here. The ravioli and tortellini are baked, but you need to request 'cheese on top' if you like your pasta baked that way (which I prefer).

Lunch time is often crowded but that's because there really aren't too many better places around here to grab a sandwich (AFAIK, at least).

Love it!  Great Hot Sandwiches!  For a cold sandwich, go to Bay Cities, but for a HOT one, go to Rinaldi's.  This has become the default place for lunch if we can't come up with any original ideas.  The lady that takes your order is funny.  I always ask her what she recommends and she tells me something different everytime.  I think I've pretty much tried all the HOT sandwiches and I don't think I've been disappointed.  Great lunch spot... for 2 or 3 people.  Not much room for many more.

For my job I have to travel all over LA/OC/VC/IE on a regular basis meeting with clients.  If I'm not getting lunch with a client, then I am still in need of eating myself.  And I do love a good sandwich.

Rinaldi's is the only sandwich shop I will drive across town, for no purpose other than to eat one.  And I live in downtown LA, so that is a lot of town between me and that sandwich.  My work rarely brings me to the Gundo these days, and I miss getting to enjoy a Rinaldis fix...er sandwich, every week or two.

I personally love the Matt Man, but you really can never limit yourself, you must try to eat them all.  Every one of them.  That said, I almost always order the Matt Man myself.  The Boar's Head meats are amazing.  And they have Stewart sodas as an added bonus.  And you'll probably see Mike Piazza eating there as well if he happens to be in town.

On a Sunday afternoon it's the busiest place in town
I just had to try these sandwiches of world renown
So I braved the long line & got salad of chicken
It was good, but not as finger lickin'
As the salad of potato
That was absolutely great-o

After I ate, I got a sandwich to go
Brought it home for dinner and whaddaya know
It was delicious!  Turkey, with mustard spicy
The "Owner's Favorite" on the menu, nicey!

Would you believe they got a sandwich called the Troll?!
Eggplant, turkey, red sauce & cheese on a roll
Just like trolls, it sounds kinda......strange
A 10" version costs 7 bucks and change

They got a million selections, with all kinds of names
Like The Mailman, the Stinky, the Pipeline....fun & games
I like that they use Boar's Head brand
And they cater & deliver, at your command

If I ate here often, my waistline would expand
I'd have to jog a zillion miles in the sand
So I'll come to Rinaldi's only once in awhile
But, dang.....that potato salad sure made me smile.....

Rinaldi's has some incredible sandwiches. After about a year in the socal area, they are my favorite in the South Bay, and it helps they aren't too far from my work!

They come in two sizes 6" diameter roll or 10" sub, only a dollar difference between the two. The smaller (6 incher) is normally enough for me unless I know I'm going to have a long afternoon/evening at the office, and I could lose a couple pounds.

Rinaldi's has both hot and cold sandwiches. If you're in a rush, go for a cold one, as the hot sandwiches can add about 5 minutes to the wait, especially when it's packed at lunch. Cold sandwiches are also generally about a buck cheaper than hot ones ($6.50 for small cold, $7.50 for large cold/small hot, $8.50 for a large hot). Friday they also have some turkey lasagna which I enjoyed.

My recs for sandwiches:
Hot: Airport Bergman (Turkey Meatballs, Pepperoni, Pastrami, Mozz., Marinara)
Cold: UCLA Bruin (Turkey, Honey Ham, Provalone, Lettuce, Tomato, Honey Mustard).  Honorable mentions to Italian (like your regular italian) or USC Trojan (Italian with prosciutto)

Also if you like to pick up the Beach Reporter there's a drop for it right next to the entrance, so hit it up Thursday/Friday.

Well there are ok.  I'm not going to tell you where the best sammich in LA is because that's my secret and not yours.

On to the review.
The stinky is nice.  I guess.
The bread is good.
Kinda expensive.

I have to be in the right mood for this sammich.

You've got to be kidding me.  I've been to quite a few westside/southbay sandwich shops over the last 6 months.  Rinaldis was by far the worst.

These taste like the sandwiches you would slop together for a kid going off to school.  Their selection is extremely limited compared to others in the area.

Paying $7 for bread that's not fresh, very little meat, and too much lettuce is just naive.

Very disappointing.

Boar's Head Deli meats every combination imaginable. This place is awesome; I'd recommend the Hamilton and the Pipeline. There are a few others I can't remember the names of, but you have to try this spot.

I ate Subway for a year straight. Every working day... same sandwich. It was rather sad & embarrassing since the Subway workers knew exactly what my sandwich was that I had to just step in the store and they'd start on my 6" turkey on wheat, all the veggies except for lettuce, avocado, salt & pepper. Nothing more, nothing less. Now the thought of a Subway turkey sandwich makes me want to vomit out my fage yogurt/blackberry/blueberry (yes I eat this every day now) breakfast.

That is when Rinaldi's comes in the picture. For $6 (yes they recently raised prices), I can get a 6" roll with a MOUNTAIN of  honey turkey, lettuce (no spinach at rinaldis), tomato, and spicy mustard (which kicks regular mustards butt). They call this the Owner's Favorite.

Well, it's my favorite too! I've gotten it a few days in a row. The kicker for me is the Boar's Head deli meat that they use. It reminds me of my very first gourmet sandwich at Wolfe's Market during my college days in the retirement community of Claremont. Really Boar's Head is bomb! Nostalgic... and satisfying!

Boyfriend first introduced me to this place when I started working back in the 'Gundo again. I got a hot pastrami reuben that was PILED HIGH with meat and sauerkraut (yum). Now I go back about once a week. I don't usually eat in (since there's minimal tables and it's always packed), but the service is very quick and you can grab & run pretty easily.

I think this place is much better for carnivores than herbivores, as literally every sandwich is all about the meat. Some of my faves: The Smokey (smoked turkey and cappy) and Pat & Denny (turkey meatbal with sliced turkey!). The 10" is usually just a $1 or so more and, yes I do think the amount of filling is about the same on the 6" roll or 10" sub. I just like eating a sub better (that roll is too hard for me to manage!).

The staff is friendly and efficient and this is a much better deal/sammy that Quizno's.
