Every time you go by this place the parking lot seems to be packed full. This is some of the best Chinese I have eaten anywhere; and I generally have to be in the mode even to eat Chinese in general.
Whether I have dined in or called ahead for a pick-up, I have never had to wait long; and the food is always outstanding.
I do not think there is one particular dish that stands out to me. My personal choices are usually limited when it comes to Chinese; but I can say that the egg drop soup and pot stickers are very good. I really do enjoy the food here.
If you are in the area or even shooting up or down 85 at any point and are hungry, consider swinging in by Orient Garden. You will not be disappointed. -

Best in Gwinnett? Considering the lousy restaurant choices in this area, that might be true, but I won't be back. Too much sauce, and the worst Chinese-American restaurant sin: using frozen mixed vegetables. I do not want cubed carrots and peas in my stir fry, thankyouverymuch. Completely inauthentic. You even have to make a special request for chopsticks.
The service is fast and friendly, but the dishes are completely overpriced for the quality of food. And I wouldn't dare try the sushi (the sushi bar was deserted, and the sushi chef didn't have a single order the entire hour we were there). -

I admit, I really only eat here once a year. Its kind of a weird birthday tradition with my parents.
None the less, I'm not saying this was the best chinese food out there. But it was pretty decent, or at least I was content with my sesame chicken. The menu is pretty diverse with it consisting of the basic chinese fanfare you'd find elsewhere as well as sushi bento box style meals. Honestly, the sushi was delicious and was a decent quality.
Our waitress was personable and hilarious, but almost seemed the epitome of the asian stereotype. I'm not sure if it was on purpose or not, but none the less it was an enjoyable experience.
It was decent food, good service, and a bright atmosphere. So, see you next year Orient Garden. -

I've been here a few times with friends, but don't really like it enough to go here by myself. The food is ok, but the two stars is because I have experienced better.
The place has good business when I drive by it, so I'm not sure my review will be in the majority. I'm fine with that.
The Chinese dishes have lots of sauce on them. I prefer the sauces to be lighter and if the meat is fried for it to be a lighter batter. The vegetables are ok as well, but they are usually covered in the sauce.
One time I tried the sushi. It was a little dry for my taste, but when I think about it, I went in the middle of the week.
The service was average. No complaints with it.
While two stars might seem like a negative review, I honestly would say the food and service is ok; however, I like other places better. -

Not really sure why people are writing great reviews of this place.
As an authentic Asian, who prides himself in the deliciousness of all cuisine that is authentically Asian, I have to say, that if the owner meant to imply that by the use of "Garden" in his restaurant's name, that food here was cooked fresh and with fresh ingredients, he is most likely the Asian Pinocchio and is a pathological liar who has ended up, over the course of his many lies, with more of a caucasian-shaped nose (which, if you don't know, would be abnormally large for an Asian like myself.)
I ordered to-go from this place several months ago, as it is close to my school, and great places to eat in this area are few and far between. I had seen the reviews on yelp and was misled into thinking this place had it going on. I ordered the coconut curry soup and the thai basil chicken. My buddy on the other hand, ordered the general tsao's chicken. I can't lie, the delivery guy was stellar, he even braved the security at our school to get us our meal. But my heart rate fluttered in amazement for only those brief few seconds as that heroic man strutted down our hallway with his rice-hat and shouted in all glory, "DERIBERY!"; because my experience with this place would flatline, soon afterwards.
First thing I noticed when I opened up the bag, was that curds of what I can only assume were the products of some chemical reaction between the coconut and whatever else was in the soup were spilling out of the haphazardly closed container inside the bag of food. It was pretty sick --- coconut curds floating at the top of what seemed to be some sort of beef broth (it was literally separated this distinctly; brown on top, a thick white layer at the top --- that soup must have been sitting out for AT LEAST 4 1/2 days for curds of coconut to form in that manner because I had never seen anything like that before. Suffice to say, I did not even venture to try a spoonful of that soup.
The Thai Basil Chicken wasn't bad -- it obviously was not anything that I could even deem as "good", but given the state of starvation that I was in, it did the job, that is, until soon afterwards, I ended up with an empty stomach anyway after hitting the toilet, HARD. It wans't just me either --- my buddy, who thoroughly enjoyed the General Tsao's chicken (he enjoys any general tsao's chicken --- so this is no compliment to you, Mr. Asian Pinocchio), soon followed suit.
Bottom line: Subpar Asian food that has some flavor (MSG works wonders) but whose creators obviously lack any sense of pride in providing fresh food. Orient "Garden"? More like the Orient "Compose Pile" the way Pinocchio and his gang blatantly let their food sit out. -

Nothing special about this place. It's very American style Asian cuisine and is nothing special. They have a Sunday brunch buffet that is really not worth trying.

I should probably start out by saying I don't generally like Chinese food.
That being said.. I really enjoyed the experience in this restaurant.
I visited this on a business trip with a group of work associates. They were all wanting something Asian and to be polite I was prepared to simply drink tea and go hungry if I couldn't find something I liked.
Well about an hour later I had one full belly and a great experience.
The atmosphere reflects a much more upscale Chinese food experience than I have been accustomed to. There has really only been 1 or 2 Chinese places I have eaten in the past and it has been drive-up style or buffet style.
They start you off with a nice appetizer on a rotating center piece on the table to serve all of your guests. Once your order arrives the portions are huge and the quality of the meats and vegetables are excellent.
All of the sauces are served in place of the appetizers in the center of the table when the food arrives and you rotate it to find what you need.
the service was prompt and friendly. I will go back if I find myself in this area again, and hungry.
The only reason this does not get 5 stars from me is the price. I paid around $12 I believe for chicken fried rice, an egg roll and a chicken wing. It was a bit more expensive than I was expecting, but the quantity of food came close to making up for it.
Give it a try if you're in the area. It seems this area of Suwanee is filled with a lot of the common fast food chains so it was nice to find something I wasn't eating out of a bag and a wrapper. -

The place is clean, the people are friendly, and the food is delish!!! They even play good jazz music in the background (at least when I was there). The food isn't oily (which we all know can happen with Chinese food). The sushi is pretty good too. It really is a beautiful place to eat dinner. The lighting is pretty awesome (not too dark or too light). I can see why they were voted best in Gwinnett! The food is GREAT, the atmosphere is GREAT, the people are GREAT!

I don't even live in Gwinnett anymore but I'll make the drive just for their food. I love this restaurant. been going here since 1997. Service is great. Food arrives fresh and hot. Never been disappointed. I've ordered almost everything on the menu. If you've never been, would recommend
Triple Delight, chicken basil fried rice, Tokyo Sunrise (fabulous!). Never had dessert here. Always too full. -

I first ate at Orient Garden back in 1996 when I was a research assistant at Yerkes Field Station. Back then, Suwanee seemed impossibly far from civilization and I never thought I'd end up moving out here. Orient Garden was a good lunch choice and the only place I ever remember eating out here in the country.
Now that I *do* live out here, I have to say that Orient Garden doesn't quite equal the awesomeness that is China Inn (which was 5 minutes away from my old house). That said, it's pretty yummy. Their hot and sour soup could use more vinegar, but it's a lot better than what most places in Georgia serve. I've ordered it takeout and added extra vinegar, and that made it perfect. So it's not bad.
I generally shy away from sushi at Chinese restaurants. The sushi at Orient Garden is not the best, but it's better than what you'd get somewhere like Ru San's. Sadly, it's not as cheap as Ru San's, but it's the best way I know of to have sushi delivered to my door when I'm too lazy to change out of pajama pants. :)
My two favorite items from Orient Garden thus far are their Spicy Salt and Pepper Shrimp and their Spicy Thai Coconut Soup. The prices at this place are a little on the high side, but the food is good and there is an interesting variety that you won't find at most Chinese restaurants of similar quality.
Definitely worth a visit if you're out in the area already. -

I love love love this place! Everything is always SO good, and since they remodeled a few years ago, it is very aesthetically pleasing. My favorite dishes are always egg rolls, egg-drop soup, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and mongolian beef. Their Chinese Donuts are great, too! The service is always wonderful, too. 5 stars every time!
