My office department went here for a Pre-Thanksgiving Lunch celebration. We were around 10 people. The antique ambience felt cozy and I loved their Spaghetti Visuvius (even though their menu said it is spicy, I didn't think it was that's why I sprinkled more crushed red chili pepper on it). I love the fact that there's abundance of parmesan cheese on the table. Service is friendly as well.

The name of the place is what you get: spaghetti. So don't look for anything else. LOL.

I have hapazard recollections of eating here as a child.

I remember stuffing my face with everything.

And surprisingly, the food was the same. The only good thing about this place was that it brought me back to my childhood... a fatty, awkward child who ate too much Fruit By The Foot (look where that got me).

It had flavor, but not enough. The best part was probably the appetizer which was sausage, garbanzos and a mustard...

We had asked for recommendations and maybe the server doesn't know how to recommend something, but it was BLAH. My Sierra Nevada and salt was enough to maybe induce a sodium attack. Service was really unremarkable... and really with a place like the Old Spaghetti Factory, you have many rooms to shine. I know, because I'm in the industry.

Can't say that I expected much, but I did expect something OKAY. It's too bad, I expected something better...

My friends and I stopped here after cavorting around downtown earlier in the day, and we were fortunate to get in within their last hour of business for a Sunday night.

This was my first time to any of the restaurants in the chain, which, is as old as I am. (Ahem!) I know of the Stockton location. (Heard to avoid it, haven't verified yet), and I know of the ones in Roseville and Elk Grove and Fresno, but we chose the location that came into existence a mere 2 years after the restaurant chain was established.

We got to dine in the trolley, which was a nice experience, though I kept feeling like I was going to break the pane from resting my arm on it throughout the meal. It was good, since it was warm, having dropped down to the 40s outside, and I was happy as long as they kept the coffee coming.

No Chicken Piccata on the menu, but they have fettucine (with or without chicken), and some good deals on classic pasta offerings, with allowances if you're into whole-wheat spaghetti, like I am. I had mine with the meat sauce, and a side of two good-sized meatballs.)

The garlic bread, as another Yelper mentioned on here, is very good, especially with the marinara sauce they give you. The portions are pretty good for the price. Out of three of us, I was the only one who cleared his entire plate. ^_^;

Opted for the minestrone soup over the salad (because it was pretty cold outside, and I still needed to warm up), and found it to my liking. (Even before carpet-bombing it with Parmesan cheese.), and I have to add that the Old Spaghetti Factory got me back into liking Spumoni ice cream. (And I was a bad boy - I had the ice cream after downing a mud pie for dessert. ^_^; )

The only off-notes were when our server took a fall boarding the trolley to get to us during our stay, but she was okay, thankfully. (Though I think my friend Dominic's drink got dropped. No worries though.) There was also a rather embarrassing experience I had in the restroom before I left. Let's just say it would have been better if it were Friday or Saturday night, and I had a few drinks in me to make up for it. ^_^;

Overall, I'd return whenever the winds carry me this way. I'm already planning my next day trip to downtown San Jose. (I'll be returning to The Tech, of course, before heading northward towards San Pedro.)

I went here for my birthday dinner a few weeks ago with a group of about 8 people. The plan was to have dinner at 6:30pm. I knew that they did not take reservations over the phone so I decided to head to the restaurant in advance to put my name on the list. I arrived to the restaurant at 4:30pm - which is right when they re-open for dinner. I told them my name and that I would have a party of 8 arriving at 6:30pm. They took my name and said they couldn't guarantee a table at 6:30pm but to check back in when everyone in the party arrived and they'd get us seated as soon as possible. As with any dinner party such as this, some of my friends arrived a little late. I decided to check back in with the host when 5 of the 8 had showed up. I figured that was enough people to get seated. They then handed me a pager and asked me to wait. The time at this point was around 6:45pm. Finally, all my friends had arrived by about 7pm and we were still waiting for a table. We checked in with the host a few more times and were told "a few more minutes." We finally ended up getting our table around 7:30pm.

That is my only complaint about the restaurant. They should take reservations. If it wasn't my birthday, they may very well have lost business that night.

I ordered the Manager's Special with Mizertha (not sure if that is spelled right) and Mushroom Sauce. I got it hearty sized since I was now super hungry. It was delicious and I ate every bit of it.  The waiter we had was a cool guy and the server that took over when he left for the night was cool as well... I'm not sure who gets tip in this situation though? Anybody know how that works? Ah whatever, I wasn't paying, it was my birthday!

I feel like this place was livelier and more exciting when I was younger. The old spaghetti factory is pretty standard. There's nothing extraordinary about the pasta, the sauce, the meatballs or anything for that matter, but it's a decent meal for a decent price. My team showed up a little bit late, and it was great to have the trolley to ourselves, it was a good time, but I'm sure with the crowd I was with, we would have had a blast just about anywhere. Standard spaghetti and meatballs pasta is just so easy to make nowadays it's almost pointless to go out and pay for it at a restaurant. Still, it's an old downtown SJ staple, and worth checking out.

Seriously delicious food!

I worked at the Oakland branch in high school for 2 years and it was SUCH a fun job!

And now, in the San Jose branch, I see so many San Jose State students working here.  They are college students, they need your support!  Give them some credit - the meals are really cheap and it comes with a lot of food.  They come with a salad and dessert.  How many sit-down restaurants can you say that about?

My favs are:
1. The manager's favorite with meat and miz.
2. The spinach tortillini

Although I've tried practically everything on the menu and they are all yummy - except the pasta with marinara. Its way too plain when you can get the meat sauce, or the meatballs with the pasta!

Yes once again we were here to eat. Came here after a short trip to Santa Cruz and the kids wanted to eat at one of their favorite places..
4:30pm was a agreat time to eat there. No wait no loud noise...
Kids had their Spaghetti w/ Meat sauce,  wife had Lasagna and I had the Tortellini's... Nothing new to write about it since last time since it is pretty often.. The waitress was very cool and very polite. The Salads are always decent and the warm bread too. Of course we will be back... The guy busting tables was cooler cuz he kept bringing us free stuff. More bread and he even gave us 2 to go. $$$ Tip!!!!!

The prices are always very good and we were out by 5:45.. Free parking till 6pm across the street . he he...

Came here for a birthday celebration with a friend. Just a lunch on a weekday so there weren't any crowds.

The decor is very cool... Vintage but not tacky or pastiche. Felt like I walked into a different world.

The Mizithra cheese and browned butter on spaghetti was very tasty. There's nothing quite like it. I had the "manager's favorite": half clam sauce and half Mizithra cheese. The clams were canned but the sauce was good even with canned clams. (I've had worse -- way worse.) This was a nice surprise. Good combination of the Mizithra and clams.

Service was good and kinda quirky. We had a mature gentleman as our waiter who was a bit of a character... in a good way. So far so good.

DING DING DING, the trolley has stopped and is now a permanent fixture in The Old Spaghetti Factory. It is one of the more unique places to dine within a restaurant. It definitely enhances the eating experience; otherwise you are siting in a regular booth/chair eating spaghetti... how exciting is that?
I've been coming here for years w/ my friends and it seems only recently they've decided to raise their prices. I guess times are tough for everyone.
We went on a Monday night, which was nice because there was not a long wait, but curiously we still had to wait even though the place was 25% capacity.
I wish I could tell you something interesting about what I ordered; I really wish I could, but it was just spaghetti w/ meat sauce, standard. The portion sizes are suitable for a hearty appetite, all entrées come with soup/salad, your entrée, and a scoop of ice cream (spumoni or vanilla). If you are still hungry afterwards, you might want to consider Buca di Beppo for you next Italian outing.
The Old Spaghetti Factory is fun, you can be loud (and obnoxious) w/ your friends and people don't seem to mind, and there is a trolley.

i mean.....the place is cute. i came here on a tuesday night with a friend and we were both starving! we were aiming to find the best place for food that night. he suggested oldsphaghetti and i was down. We both decided to get spaghetti since this place is known for the spaghetti [ i mean it says it in their name! ].....my spaghetti had a light creamy sauce on it and the pasta that i make at home tastes better. my friend had spaghetti with marinara and he said it was very normal and nothing special...in conclusion...i dont think i'll ever be back...as it wasn't really anything special!

Good food, reasonable prices.

We usually get take out from OSF once a week at work. I'd say a good 99% of the time the order is perfect. Food taste, quality & quantity were always consistently good up until about 1 year ago. Recently the pricing has been going up, while quantity and quality of food have been going down. The spagetti never has enough sauce on it...  I've asked for more sauce and they charged for it!

I used to come here a lot when i worked in the area and remembered that it was decent food (maybe because i used to drink a lot here). I recently revisited OSF and was quite disappointed.  Most of the food didn't taste freshly made, more like frozen food and the pasta sauce was quite salty.  I had the bay shrimp crostini and it did not taste good. My lasagna was decent but nothing mind blowing. If you really want good tasting pasta, try another spot.  The only saving grace I have of this place is the decor and service.

You are a crappy realist. The food cost about $10 for

Dear OSF,
Thanks Old Spag Fact, you have always been cheap and unchanging. Your spaghetti may not be like Nana's home cooking, but you cost 10 dollars to get a full meal (from appetizer to dessert) with pretty much zero restaurant overhead...for that I thank you. Since I'm a big kid now, I look forward to trying your hopefully equally cheap happy hour prices I hear about too.
Yours,
Sam

My family likes to celebrate at The Old Spaghetti Factory.  They have big tables, plenty of room, pretty good service and food that just about everyone can find something to eat.  The vegetarians go for the Mizithra cheese spaghetti, the carnivores go for meatballs and tomato sauce.  The food very middle-of-the-road in terms of quality, but the bread is freshly baked and how can you argue with spumoni ice cream at the end of the meal?

Yesterday, we were celebrating my youngest niece and the party was set for twelve.  We had the best waitress that we have ever had at The Old Spaghetti Factory.  Her name was Neena and she had a great attitude, gettiing our orders perfectly and suggesting things like a fresh to-go loaf to go with our leftovers.  She was a real treasure.

Thanks to my brother-in-law, Bob for footing the bill and our niece, Acacia for giving us an excellent reason to celebrate.  OH!  Thanks also for Michael Sue and Acacia giving me a ride back up to the weekend house!

The Spaghetti is really good, something I'd expect from a place called Spaghetti Factory! The prices are really fair also. However the service is generally poor. The last time I went my GF and I sat for 20mins and no one even gave us bread and water in the middle of a full section. After we let management know they proceeded to sit us in a room with some kind of family gathering going on with little kids running around everywhere. If you're in need of carb loading and frustration this is the place to go!
Cliffs:
-Good food
-Good prices
-Bad service
-Would marginally recommend

This place is a great deal.... salad, main dish, dessert, and a drink for about $10?  Yes please!  This was one of my fave "sit down" places during college.

Their spaghetti was yummy and i LOVE their chicken parmigiana... and they have the best cheesy garlic bread.... BUT to be honest, I come here for one major reason.... SPUMONI.  When I die, I want to be buried with a grande nonfat zebra mocha in one hand and a pint of spumoni in the other.  I love it so badly.

I will definitely be back because I want to eat in the cable car thing... and I'll probably be back after that too :)

The wait sucks the most when you're starving and your tummy is turning you into this vengeful hungry monster. Any little thing ticks me off. My bbf Joe and I  arrive there with no appointment-there's plenty of tables NOT enough servers. The wait was 15-20 minutes. It was REALLY a 25-35 minute wait.

I think if they offered some nice soft bread and water while guests are waiting they wouldn't mind so much. Just a little to hold'em down.

So we were finally seated by this really tall host. The server came pretty quick. I was able to order everything at once-I was starving alright.

2 spaghetti with meat sauce hearty meal
2 side salads w/ranch (really 3)
1 garlic and cheese bread
1 water
1 iced tea

Our drinks came out pretty quickly, followed with our salads with a loaf of hard (chewy because its so hard) bread. My advice is skip the outside and just dig inside it.

My salad was pretty darn good until I found some unidentified wood splinter object as I was chewing my salad. Showed it to Joe... About an inch to inch and a half long. It was a piece of wood in my salad-looked like they accidently shredded wood with the carrots. I don't really know. I spitted it out and continue eating-because I was literally that hungry. Flagged down the server as I noticed him at the corner of my eye. He seems very attentive! Unfortunately I forgot his name but my bff remembers.

I just basically told him I found a piece of this  (points to the wooden object) in my salad. Would you be able to comp this salad and give me another one? A minute passed the manager came up to me and apologized! WOW to my surprise-that was really quick!! Food establishment usually given with response time and everything else for quality control was like last priority. Didn't charge me for my two salads and iced tea.

I chomped down on the cheese bread, the spaghetti, and salad... ummm I don't remember how I really ate it-but it was good enough that I had half a plate of spaghetti and some garlic cheese bread for lunch today.

Overall I hate the wait-but everything else seem superb to me. I would've gave it 5 stars but I took one away for the stupid long wait.

Their garlic cheese bread is d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s! Order it if you go here.

I LOVE THIS PLACE.
I love the outside of it because it feels like your kinda in Italy. The inside is either medieval or Victorian feel. Upstairs is the game area near the bathroom. In the far right when you walk in is a real cable car. Just amazing experience.

This is one of my favorite Italian places. Never ending amount of bread!
Huge portions of food. Great combos (any entree is a combo. Combo consist: your choice of salad or soup, hot bread, coffee or tea or milk and spumoni ice cream).

Another cool thing is probably the Italian cream soda where you get to keep the glass. (If you don't want to take home the used glass go to the bar and as for a clean one)

The server's varies but majority of them are great.

man so many things to say but don't just take my word for it, look on other reviews =D

My favorite is the 1/2 and 1/2 ^_^ Ravioli and Spaghetti ha ha.

One of the best deals that I know of. Where else for around $10-$12 you can get an appetizer, main dish, drink and a dessert?  Granted the food may not be the most authentic, but great deal none the less.

Bartenders are pretty generous as well, I ordered a a well drink (gin/tonic) and they put it in a tall glass (easily a double) for $4.65.

Okay, so why did I order the drink?? Because the wait here is horrendous.  Alot of large parties come in here and they seem to hog up the staff.  The servers are friendly and try to accomondate you to the best of their ability.  But you can tell that they are easily overworked.

Another couple random notes..it can get really noisy inside. And they don't validate parking! But other then that, I love Old Spaghetti Factory!

The food here is okay, nothing special at all. If you're a pasta aficionado, don't come here. It's really nothing special. Everything is just average. The prices are average, the food is average, the service is below average.

I've been coming here for years, probably since it first opened and my experiences has always been wonderful whether it be a family dinner or a big celebration with friends. The place has a cozy feel and it's sometimes fun to sit and eat in the little cable car that they have there. It's very affordable and your meal comes with bread, salad, and ice cream for dessert. Plus certain beverages for free! I've been a fan of the spinach ravioli and pasta with cheese and brown butter, but recently they changed their menu and added a few new things. My new fav dish there is now the jumbo crab ravioli...yum-o! Loaded with lots of crab and creamy pesto sauce, you just can't go wrong. The service there has been overall good, some days not that great, some days above and beyond, but the last time I was there was probably the best I've ever had so kudos to you Travis! Our food came out fast so it made up for the long hour wait.

The last time I was here was probably over a year ago and from what I remember the pasta and lasagna is pretty good for a chain restaurant.

We came here this past Saturday for a friend's birthday and I wasn't too hungry so I opted for a Cobb Salad instead while the bf got some burger sliders. I was disappointed with my salad. It was DINKY! And Cobb Salads are usually monsterous! I had a bite of the slider, which was on par with other places.

The only thing that bothered me from the meal was an incident that occurred with our waiter and the busboy. We had a party of 15 and our drink orders were ready sitting on a fold out makeshift table and the busboy accidently knocked it over. I could tell he felt bad and was embarrassed and what made it worse was how the waiter treated him so horribly in front of us! The bus boy asked him what the drink orders were to make our replacement and the waiter just said "I don't know" and tossed the notepad at him. I thought this was completely unprofessional and rude and what really got me was how the waiter demeaned him by telling us multiple times that he was sorry and our drinks were coming out soon because the busboy knocked them over. Yes, we get it. Lots of things go wrong on a busy night especially with a large group, but I didn't think it was cool how he kept saying the busboy knocked our drinks over.

Overall though, our dinner here was good as service was on top of it and making sure our needs were met. The waiter even brought out candles for the October birthdays, 3 of them, AND made these cute swans wrapped in tin foil with their loaves of bread inside. Pretty cool.

All in all, a good place for large group dinners and family affairs as the place is big and prices are affordable.

I got a slap on the wrist for my first no-no review here, so here we go again.

This particular Old Spaghetti is where good service goes to die. The hostesses are catty and the waiters are rude.

The food experience is overpowered by the smell of old house in combination with gym socks. It's sad, really. Their food isn't too bad and they've got wheat pasta for the health conscious.

Next time I'm craving something from here, I'll opt out of grabbing a table. I'd much rather take it to-go, and sit on one of the benches down the street.

The Spaghetti Factory is a San Jose institution! Anyone who was on a soccer team, swim team, or any cool team as a kid most likely came here for a fundraiser or group dinner on more than one occasion. (Bonus if you got to sit in the trolley car).

So it's with this biased, reminiscent perspective that I visited the SF after a gap of at least ten years.

And my, it was a great experience (and meal)!

Everyone in my group--including me--enjoyed their dinners. I had the spinach tortellini with cream sauce and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and not overly saucy. The salad that comes with every meal is similar to what you'd get at say, Olive Garden, but it's better! In fact, I'm still raving about their house-made pesto ranch dressing, weeks later! Round the meal our with their warm bread and a scoop of spumoni ice cream and it's quite a nice dinner (at an unbelievable price--around $10-12 per meal).

Added bonus: Their Bellini is excellent and comes with a split of champagne. Sweet, peachy goodness.

Proof that this is a SJ institution that's here to stay: The Woz was at the table in front of me as I sat there, starstruck. Apple co-founder. Dancing With the Stars Alumnus. (Yes, so Silicon Valley).

Needless to say, I'll be back!

So we used to come here all the time in college, you really couldn't beat the good deal here, 10 bucks for a full meal. Probably havent been there in 3 or 4 years, so we came back recently. It was ok, it was open late so that is nice....

One thing i didnt like we were there late at night and the staff was cleaning and they were sweeping the hard wood floors, and they just sweeped everything under the caboose in the middle of the room...now i know why OSF has a caboose!

Came here on Sunday during dinner time and immediately got seated in the cable car, which I love. It's different, it's historic, I love nostalgia.

Since I'm always indecisive, I ordered the Potpourri which came with 4 different sauces. Everything was blah except for the browned butter w/ Mizthra cheese sauce. It was jammed full of flavor, and when mixed with the bland marinara or meat sauce, made everything all the better.

This is a good cheap casual dinning spot, so don't expect anything more than that. Salad+ bread+ iced tea+ spumoni ice cream = $10

The first time I went was probably the best experience I had at this place, and most likely because it was my bday and they sang and gave me cake. The second time around was not so impressive. Oh, one thing I hate about this place is the long wait around dinner time. We had to wait almost 40 mins for us to get seated and the food didn't come out until 30 mins after we ordered. When I went there with my friends, there was this weird smell that we couldn't completely tell what it was. And the food wasn't as good as the first time. My friends and I were less than impress about that place.

Nevertheless, it's still one of the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to with its reasonable price and decent spaghetti.

The nay sayers are right. The food quality is not so great, but for our party of 14 the server did quite well. I would choose any of the neighboring restaurants to eat at before I would go to OSF.

Save your cash and boil some water yourself. :)

First I would like to say that the food is decent here. For the price, it's not bad although it's not amazing either. Just your general selection of pastas and desserts. Nothing special.

This is why I gave it two stars. Because other than the food, I would not go back to this place. I went for a friend's birthday and the service was horrendous. We had about 8 people in our party and our waiter was just terrible. We all ordered the special where you get pasta, bread, salad, and a drink.

First of all, our waiter completely forgot our bread. We almost didn't notice until halfway through eating our pasta, we realized we hadn't gotten it yet. Secondly, my friend asked twice for an iced tea. Both times the waiter said he'd get it. It never came. Thirdly, the waiter assumed that all of us didn't want dessert, just because 6 of us said we didn't. However, the other 2 people DID want dessert and were overlooked. Waiters should never assume anything on behalf of the rest of the party.

Lastly, since it was our friend's birthday, one of our girls went up quietly to the waiter to inform him that it was her birthday and that we would like to buy her a slice of cake for dessert and possibly have the waiters sing. However, the check came before we could even order or ask about dessert. My friend had to secretly go up to the manager again and ask for the cake.

To top it all off, not only was our waiter terrible at his job, he gave us an attitude as well. He would say things in a tone that showed he didn't want to be there, he looked bored all the time and didn't check up on us to see how we were doing, and he would walk away in the middle of talking to us.

Naturally we complained to the management about the service and the manager was very understanding and apologized and gave us a few free gift certificates for the next time. Although I must say that even with a free gift certificate, I'm still not sure I would go back.

A great place for families with young kids!  No one minds the noise.  They have a very affordable $5 kid meal with 9 options, salad or apple sauce, drink and ice cream or juice popsicle.  Mizithra Cheese and brown butter noodles are like crack for kids.  They can't get enough of it!

If your family is 4 or less you can request a seat in the trolley car.  Just be prepared for tables that slip and slide as kids push against them.

The wait staff are all high school kids out on their first job, but I've found for the most part they work real hard for the tips.

For 10 bucks you get bread, ice tea, spaghetti, and some ice cream.   Not bad, not bad at all.

The interior is unique and I'd have to say is much better than the one in Concord (which I'm going to have to give a 3 if I ever get around to reviewing it).  There's an arcade upstairs, table seating, booth seating, the main seating area has a trolley that has been stripped out and fit with several tables.

Food I thought was better than the last time I came 8 years ago.  I had the Italian Sausage with meat sauce.  I couldn't decipher whether I was hungry or it was good , either way I enjoyed it.
Service was just shy of being "good"  the server didn't offer the ice cream which comes with the meal or bring out straws.  But over all she did an A - OK job.

Ambiance: 5/5 Stars

Food: 3/5 Stars

Service 3/5 Stars

3.67 I'll round up to 4 on this one.

from the words of my friend: it really does look like it's a factory!!!

this was from the outside entering from the shady looking backside. ~*Entrance*~ it spells overhead as if this was a scene from Sweeny Todd.

but the inside is a different story.

Does i gets the cable car table nowz?

no. we get what looks like a bed post turned into table. oh well.

service was great here when we came for lunch. 3 people came by to make sure we were being served and that drinks have been ordered.

meal:
bread--soft and warm...but fills you up beware!
salad with honey mustard dressing-looks like bagged ice berg lettuce salad drowning in too much dressing. i'd prefer it if the dressing was on the side and i controlled how much i want thank you
strawberry italian cream soda--what i come here for! but too bad they don't come in those really tall slim glasses anymore. they just look like regular cups now
lasagna vegetariano--stacked high in layers and drowning in marinara sauce and topped with mushrooms. oh yay :P
dessert? i never have room for that crap. i blame the bread!

bathrooms? upstairs where there's a mini retro looking arcade. cool.
annd don't forget to take home your souvenir cream soda cup. i'll have a nice collection coming along soon...

This place is not the best Italian food, but it's great for reasonably priced meals and for families with kids.  We like to take our son there as it's informal and usually we get the 3 course meal that comes with the salad, entree and ice cream.  Even though the entree doesn't look that big it's very filling.  For the entree I like to get the sampler plate which has spaghetti with didfferent sauces so you can get a variety of tastes.
I think if you're on a budget but want to eat something other than fast food then this place is decent especially if you get the 3 course meal.

Where else can you get a full meal (salad, bread, dinner and ice cream) for two people for $26.
Both me and mom were pleased with our meals and had plenty of food extra to take home (the spinach and cheese tortellini with Alfredo was to die for)
Service was a little slow, but we didn't mind since that meant staying in the nice air conditioned room longer.
I don't know why it had been so long since our last visit, but I'll be sure to return again more often.

Even though I don't consider The Spaghetti Factory to be fabulously good, this place is a San Jose staple worth eating at once.

The food is classic Italian, and it's a great deal. If you get the fixed course meal you get a salad and dessert with your entree for a pretty low price for all courses. The food isn't incredibly delicious, but it's not bad either.  Spaghetti factory tends to be very loud and crowded, especially with sounds of small children, and they don't take reservations except for very large parties. Service can be a little bit slow as well.

That said, one reason you'll want to check out this place is the cute decor. You can wait for your service on throne-like chairs, and it's a great deal of fun to eat in the caboose if you're able to get a table there. The ambiance is adorable and quaint, especially if you're there when it's not too busy. They make good dessert drinks as well. For these reasons, it's worth it to check out The Spaghetti Factory, especially if you're looking for a casual, cheap place for decent quality.

I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would.  I decided to order the ever-popular Mizithra pasta and my date ordered the Italian meatloaf that comes with a side of mizithra. I should've ordered what he got because the meatloaf was really good AND you get a taste of the pasta that made the Factory famous.
Only complaint is that there is no option for soda when you order the value meal cuz it was too hot out for coffee and the iced tea wasn't very good.

Another San Jose oldie but goody.

I used to love the food here but the quality has gone down. Guess times are hard so they have to skimp on a few ingredients.

I dont care for spaghetti although the hubby loved their managers special, where you get two toppings.

I enjoy their ravioli and they have good salad. I love the ice cream here!

If your looking for a bargain this is your place. Family friendly atmosphere.

The only downfall on the food here is ....I get the runs every time...I thought it was just me...but so does the hubby..so we dont come here that often anymore..

This place was extremely packed on friday night. The decor was fantastic, my daughter enjoyed looking at the oversized chairs, pictures on the walls, video games upstairs, and stuff. However, the front hostess was rude to us. The wait was 45 min for a table, and apparently no wait to sit outside. We decided to eat outside, but still had to wait an additional 30 min. I would have waited the extra 15 min if I knew she was going to make us wait longer.

I ordered the Italian Sausage spagetti, and it was about $10.75? It came with bread, salad, entree, and ice cream ( i had the spumoni). Other ppl at our table had the manager's favorite $9.99 (pick 2 classic sauces), and the No.1 Premier (Chicken marsala & Lasagna)- $11.99 The meals were good portions and we did leave full.

The waiter that we had was on his 2nd day on the job, but did well. We spent a total of 3.5 hours , most of the time approx. 2 hrs of it, we spent either waiting for the the table or waiting for services at our table.

But, for the price, I can't complain too much. The food is ok, not the best, but you do get a lot for what you pay for. I would come back, probably when it is less busy on weekday, or at least call ahead. It is a good deal if you are watching your wallet and need to be fed

MIZITHRA CHEESE ALL THE WAY!!!

That cheese is the only reason I keep coming back for more! This place likes to keep it simple and as you can tell by the name, their spaghetti is their star. You can get spaghetti in five different types of sauce: white clam, mushroom, beef, marinara and browned butter with mizithra. For those who can't POSSIBLY make up their mind, you can get the Manager's Favorite where you can choose two sauces. You can also make it a HEARTY size for those who are REALLY hungry or sharing with someone for $1.95 more.

All the meals come with bread, salad with choice of dressing, coffee, tea or milk and vanilla or spumoni ice cream. A nice complete meal! You MUST try the PESTO DRESSING they have for their salad. It's the best. I wish I could get a bottle of that stuff at home.

The broccoli is BOMB. Its slightly flavored with olive oil, browned butter and mizithra cheese. YUM. That cheese just makes everything taste better!

This place is a pretty decent restaurant. Not the BEST, but not too shabby either. =) Good for some relatively cheap eats. Just be careful on the weekends. It can get pretty packed, so come by early!
