My husband and I wanted to get away from LA for a few days, and just relax. When we got to the Retreat, there was absolutely nothing to do except meditate. I guess we should have figured out that "retreat" really means "no civilization."
We booked the Adyar room, which is attached to the main room, which has a living room and kitchen. Our room was small but decent, and it had a nice outdoor patio. Housekeeping was at times slow, but we found out that's cuz some of the other guests were demanding weird things. We had our continental breakfast (homemade, fresh scones) on the patio, and it was really nice and peaceful.
I guess the big downer and shocker was that there was NO TV. Luckily we brought books to read, otherwise we woulda attacked each other. I can't tell you how upset I was that there was no TV, but I guess that's my fault for booking this place.
Be warned - if you go to the Retreat, expect to spend a lot of time meditating, sleeping, or reading. I guess that doesn't sound so bad after all....
