Ahhh the melting pot. I've been to this location as well as the one in philly. I like the chestnut hill location a little better because that area makes me feel swanky and reminds me of rich areas of boston (brings me back). Consistently amazing, no matter where you go. I've always gone for the "big night out" option featuring 3 courses (cheese, meat and dessert). I like the main course where it's like a deep fry, forget what it's called. Definitely a place for a birthday or some other special occasion with the cost- but well worth it. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly and fast. All in all, I'm not sure you can have a bad time at the melting pot!

Cheese. Chocolate. Assorted breads, meats, seafood, veggies, fruit and pastries.
Yep, that's fondue for ya.
I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather go for a yummy two hour meal that you cook yourself.Listed in: Splendor in the Suburbs, It's Kids-ness Time, Does This Food Make My Butt…, What Women Want, Mass Outings

Review from Jen D.
Came here over the holiday weekend with a few friends. I've never tried fondue before and i was really excited when my friends thought of coming here. So I called on the way and made a reservation for 5 at 6:30pm.
We were promptly seated at a booth. We only had one fondue pot which I was worried about at first, but it turned out ok. We started with a cheddar fondue with all the bread and veggies for dipping. After wards came the spinach mushroom salad with bacon, tomatoes and balsamic vinaigrette. That was really yummy..
For the meal we ordered 2 Fondue Feasts. WAY TOO MUCH FOOD... Too much meat. Too many veggies. Whoa.... After that we had the chocolate turtle fondue. It was really yummy, but I'm not a chocolate person, so I only had 2 pieces and I was done.
The beer selection is eh... Which is why I knocked off a star. Otherwise, this is a fun place to dine. Our waitress was SUPER sweet too. Even brought my friend a free shot of bacardi 151 after he tried to drink the one she was using to flame our chocolate. haha... -

I was here for an afternoon wedding reception. The entire restaurant was taken up by our party. Awesome, right?
As cooking fondue isn't my favorite pastime, I was thrilled when an enterprising fellow diner dumped the whole shebang of meats and vegetables in our fondue pots. (The cheese fondue was good and I didn't really indulge in the dessert fondue - wedding cake was enough.) Service was friendly and put up with our wily antics.
Since the newlyweds foot the bill for all the fondue (not-to-mention an open bar), I had an extremely positive experience at the Melting Pot, indeed. -

The food was excellent. Come hungry. I am not sure if it was the quantity of food, the length of time we took to eat everything, or the mix of cheese and bread but you will be full.
Service was good. Although, the hostess asked to wait and seemed flustered when we arrived even though the place was relatively empty. I think she was new. Our waiter, Joe, did a good job. He tried to strike up some conversation but we were all about the food. But he was good and responsive.
If you order drink such as wine-just order a bottle. $9 seemed to be the average for wine. We ordered a bottle and got about 4 glasses out of it.
I will definitely go back. -

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the manager makes a point of being accessible. I've been to Melting Pots in Cali, Vegas, and South Carolina; the Philly Pot holds its own and maintains a high standard.
For a casual night of cocktails and conversation, just get a little cheese or dessert pot at the bar.
Otherwise, great for a girl's night out or birthday celebration where you plan to eat big! The four course meal is pretty daunting, but worth it (if you plan on going home to lay down after). Personally, my favorites are the Cheddar Cheese course, the California Salad, and then skip to the Flaming Turtle dessert. -
