This place is amazing. AMAZING. Here is a list why.
-Great Staff, everyone is sooo nice, and the boys are really really really good looking.
-Really delicious food and hard to find groceries.
-All you can eat brunch for $10 on weekend.
-Generous portions at extremely generous prices.
-They have coconuts
-Best of all I live around the corner and come in here at minimum 4 times a week.
For the life of me, how can you not give them 5 stars? -

What a neat place!!!
The focus here is definitely on the faux meat...from Philly Cheese Steaks to Rubens, if you have a hankering for a traditionally meaty kind of sandwich or salad but you are a vegetarian/vegan, this place can definitely satisfy your craving. They also have a nice selection of specialty grocery items (all vegan) from cashew cheese to vegan jello...
They did seem to be understaffed with only one employee working the counter and preparing the food BUT the guy working there was really sweet and all the food we ordered was delicious. One of the peeps I was with is a carnivore/omnivore and he definitely seemed satisfied with the BBQ beef sandwich. I am always happy to turn meat eaters on to the fact that they can enjoy the foods they love without always participating in the cruelty industries. -

People often ask me. "do you miss eating meat?" I usually don't hesitate to answer, "Not really".
The Meet Market is the type of place that reminds me why I don't miss eating meat. I had their Philly Cheese steak Sandwich today and I was not only impressed but it took me back to the days of meat eating when I would order one from "Steak Depot" in Hollywood after a night of heavy drinking.
I love my philly cheese steaks with hot sauces and the one I had at The Meet Market was pretty good with tapatio hot sauce! YUM! I also had the chicken club. It was good but not as good as the philly cheese steak. I want to return and try their sausage and maybe by some of that vegan cheese dip! -

There was confusion. We showed up at Flore. The waitress told us the place we were trying to go to was at "the other Flore two blocks away". We left. Six blocks later we arrived at The Meet Place.
Its hot inside.
Four tables and a bar.
We ate outdoors. Four more tables.
Tofu scramble - bland. Onions and red bell peppers. I got carpal tunnel from using the salt shaker.
Bacon - Very tasty
Sausage - tough but tasty
French toast - tough but tasty
Potatoes - delish
I didn't try the waffles.
For $10 all you can eat brunch this place is a steal. Make sure your teeth are nice and strong for this meal.
They also have fruit, OJ, and coffee. -

Brunch is my absolute favorite meal. Unfortunately, being vegan makes going out for a good weekend brunch difficult and limiting.
I am sooo glad that I found this place! For $10 an all you can eat vegan brunch. The buffet is physically small, but it usually includes fresh fruit, seitan bacon and/or sausage, breakfast potatoes, French toast, tofu scramble, pancakes and/or waffles, juice, and coffee.
The tofu scramble and vegan French toast are literally the best that I've had, and I've experimented with a lot of different variations.
Basically, even if you're not planning on consuming the typical huge portions per usual of all-you-can-eat buffets, the quality of the food is well worth the $10.
I haven't actually tried anything other than the brunch, but they have a good-looking sandwinch lunch menu, as well as some packaged/grocery goods. They also sell yummy looking local vegan cupcakes, etc that I haven't tried.
The place is really small, but in a cozy way, and the staff is really friendly--not the typical, pretentious vegan cafe :) -

$10 all you can eat brunch does not mean you HAVE to eat 6 pancakes, 4 lbs of tofu scramble and a kilo of tempeh bacon. I wish I knew that before I went.

Flore Cafe is now "the Meet Market"-- a sandwich shop that also sells coffees and teas, and a few market items such as Mac n' Chreese, TVP, banana chips, Pirates Booty, Soy Jerky, etc. They also sell vegan Silk [egg] nog in little cartons! So good, no cholesterol, and no innocent animals were tortured to make it!
Parking is limited to street meters and tiny residential streets up the hill. The restaurant is tiny, and has a very relaxed and simple atmosphere. It holds about 12 people inside and about 8 outside.
Hours are currently Monday-Friday from 11am-4pm and on Saturday & Sunday from 11am-8pm. These might change since they are still in their "soft grand opening" phase and are trying to see what hours work best.
Sandwiches are freshly made, reasonably priced ($5.95), and very tasty! They are served on toasted bread and offer delicious versions of Philly Cheese steaks, BBQ beef, chicken and pesto, and more! They use a cheesy sauce/spread that has great flavor. They've also got soups, salads, coffee, tea, etc.
They hold $10 All You Can Eat Vegan brunch buffets on the weekends (for the time being). I've been to a bunch of their all-you-can-eat events (when they were Flore Cafe) and have loved each of them. Their Sunday brunch offers waffles that taste like gingerbread (a little tough to chew, probably whole wheat?), a tofu scramble which is light and fluffy with great flavor, well seasoned breakfast potatoes, and a homemade take on sausage and bacon instead of the frozen stuff from Taiwan. (The bacon is a little strange... it's shaped like a Jenga block instead of a crisp.) The fresh OJ and fruit were naturally juicy, sweet, and fresh.
The staff is very friendly and sandwiches are made on the spot within a few minutes. $10 for unlimited homemade vegan brunch is a bargain!Listed in: Veg*n Restaurants, Strictly Vegan Restaurants

Where to meet? The Meet Market, of course! We'd been to this location a few years ago, back when it was another vegan eatery, Flore Cafe. Heads up - there's no sign outside. Not the prettiest view, either (Sunset traffic).
My husband and I split the Philly Cheesesteak ("Beef" Strips with Green Peppers, Onions, and Melted Daiya Mozzarella) and the Reuben (Wheat Meat, Sauerkraut, 1000 Island, Balsamic Beets, Daiya mozzarella).
The Cheesesteak was just okay. The cheese wasn't fully melted and it was all-around too dry. I want my cheesesteaks to be a little greasy - I am aware that this isn't meat, but I've had a juicy vegetarian Cheesesteak before, in Philly, so I know it's possible. I appreciated the peppers, but they weren't cooked long enough.
The Reuben, however, was great - very similar to the one I had at Locali, except $5 cheaper and with the nutritional benefit of beets! I traded a bite with Diana's Chicken Club (Breaded "Chicken" Fillet, Tempeh Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado, Sprouts).
It should be noted that our order took FOREVER. Like, 30-40 minutes? This was because there was only one guy working behind the counter - and he was doing all the cooking (and chopping) as well. That said, he was really sweet and we weren't in a rush; just had to feed the meter. Don't come here if you've got a time-crunch, or maybe you could call in your order half an hour beforehand.
I'm interested in coming back for their $10 All-You-Can-Eat vegan brunch on the weekend... -

It's all over folks. The Meet Market just keeps getting better and better. Not only do they offer Daiya cheese on a few of their sammies, which made the already delicious Philly Cheesesteak nothing short of amazing, they sell the stuff by the half pound. Between this place and Naturewell, I may never need to step into a Whole Foods again. Hell yeah!
Check out the ever-expanding shelf of specialty items here. Everything from Marmite to cheez crackers, TVP to soy jerky and much, much more to come.Listed in: Tastes like chicken!, Strictly for my V.e.g.a.n.z., Vegan On A Budget

Awesome brunch!
Wish they would make more pancakes as the brunch went on...they ran out 2 hours before the brunch was supposed to end.
Lesson learned: get there early! Pretty tasty, and all you can eat! Definitely a great place to hit up any Sunday you find yourself in the area!Listed in: I Can Has Vegetables

TRUE: I am not a vegan.
FALSE: I do not enjoy eating like a vegan at all. Gross, gross, gross. Where is my lover Anthony Bourdain? Let's go eat something wicked.
From 12-24, I was pesca-whatever-tarian (basically a fake vegetarian since I ate fish), and then I went insane. Well, for about a year I ate vegan. Same thing. But what I learned during my temporary insanity is 1) I prefer eating vegan over everything else and 2) I am horribly tumor-causing allergic to soy. Ooops.
Never one to be held back by potentially harmful activities, vegan food is my COMFORT food. So, I've tried it all and more several times over. I am a bitter vegan veteran you might say. Oh, see. There I go. Calling myself "vegan" again. That is FALSE.
But here are some TRUTHS about the Meet Market:
TRUE: Vegan Spot and Flore #2 (the predecessors) sucked at both flavor and service.
TRUE: Meet Market does not suck.
TRUE: Meet Market is actually flavorful and uses Daiya cheese (yay, I won't die!).
TRUE: The staff is kind and not zombie-fied (a common affliction amongst vegan food service).
TRUE: VeganBakeSale cupcakes and vegan gummy bears are yummy and according to the "Skinny Bitch" book it is OK to eat vegan junk food because as long as it's vegan you won't gain weight.
TRUE: That part of the book is a lie.
TRUE: The prices at Meet Market are outstanding.
So, why 4 stars and not 5? Honestly, the bread. I've heard others complain about this too; the bread they use either needs to be changed or heated up. It's not that great, it's often cold, and it doesn't enhance the yummy contents of the sandwiches. Vegan bread is not hard to come by; most bread is vegan. Other than that, everything is fantastic.
TRUE: Even carnivores will dig this place.
FALSE: I don't plan on eating here once a week for the rest of my Eastside existence.

Love me some scrabbied tofu! The all you can eat vegan brunch buffet is legit and for $10 the price is right.
The Meet Market is small, including the buffet but it's all you need. Faux bacon/sausage, tofu scrabble, french toast, pancakes, fruit - the perfect first meal of the day.
The pancakes were definitely hands down the best pancakes I've consumed. I think they add cinnamon and nutmeg, yummy!
The service was friendly too, all around a wonderful place! -

I never visited the Flore Cafe that has since turned into the Meet Market, but all I know is the Meet Market is super and I'm grateful to live within walking distance so I can get my hot sandwich fix.
Honestly, I can't believe the negative reviews I've read of this place on here so far because of all 4 or 5 times that I've been here, I've never had a bad experience, ever! The service has always been very fast and one of the guys working here is always extremely kind. Bread has also been available for whatever sandwich I've ordered (the Philly cheesesteak and roast beef & cheddar are delicious!!) and the prices are extremely reasonable. Where else can you get a delicious vegan sandwich for $5 or $6? And if it's still not filling enough for your stomach, take your sandwich home and eat some chips with it. For me, the sandwiches I've had have hit the spot-- I don't feel extremely full, but I don't leave feeling hungry either.
Aside from the menu, the Meet Market also has a great selection of vegan groceries that seems to have expanded with my every visit. The prices are reasonable, especially for Daiya cheese which I believe runs for the same exact price at Whole Foods (which is nooo complaint because purchasing it here sure saves me a drive out to Glendale or WeHo). Be sure to also try the gummy bears that they sell in bulk... so good! -

I was visiting from out of town and I just woke up from sleeping in my car, needless to say I was starving and its hard to find a vegan breakfast in my hometown of Phoenix. My boyfriend and I stopped by this little gem for the all you can eat breakfast buffet. Delicious pumpkin pancakes, tofu scramble with vegetables, mounds of fresh fruit. I was so delighted that they had softened vegan butter for the pancakes instead of the hard stuff that can tear the delicate flapjacks.
Another plus for a poor college kid, they were only $10 per person! You can't beat that anywhere in LA. -

This is a review of the buffet at Meet Market, not the restaurant as a whole.
I visited Meet Market for the first time today for their so-called all-you-can-eat vegan buffet. For ten dollars I didn't expect a huge amount of variety, but I did expect to not pay then serve myself one helping of potatoes before discovering all the other buffet containers were completely empty. No veggie bacon, no vegan eggs Benedict, no pancakes. I then watched as a single cook brought out small bowls of each item even 10 minutes or so and hungry paying customers lined up to clean out every morsel. Sitting outside put me at a distinct disadvantage. When one customer came 30 minutes before the stated 2pm end time and complained she hadn't gotten any pancakes at all, one of the cooks told her she could maybe have a partial refund. Thanks, how generous. It's one thing to miscalculate supply and demand, it's another to act like people are nuts for expecting to get what they pay for. The food, what of it I had, was really quite good, but until this nonsense is worked out I will not be returning to the Meet Market buffet. -

let's take a quiz:
where can you get tasty vegan sammies and salads for less than 6 bucks a pop??
where can you get helpful service with a smile and mint/cucumber water while you wait??
where can you purchase all your vegan sundries (including daiya cheese!!) for a reasonable price??
if you answered the meet market to all the above questions, well then i'd say you were in the accelerated classes in high school.
the meet market is healthy, vegan, DELICIOUS, and cheap. pretty much everything one could look for in a potential eatery. tried the corn chowder (fresh and homemade), grilled cheese with grilled onions and greens, and a philly cheese steak. the soup wasn't creamy like i wanted and was a bit spicy, but still good and gigantic for the price. my grilled cheese was INSANELY good and the bread tasted so buttery...i inhaled it. my boy's philly cheese steak was also superb and i liked it despite my general aversion to imitation chicken/beef strips seitan things. our counter helper/cook was great and we tipped him extra for bringing our food to us and clearing the table when we were done.
they sell all sorts of nifty stuff...i grabbed a box of vegan mac n cheese i have yet to try because i am kinda scared and some tempeh. they sell daiya here for 5 bucks and i bought the same pack at locali for freaking 8 dollars. definitely don't waste your money at locali when you can get the same stuff and sammies at the meet market for half the price!! also sidewalk seating. this place is at the bottom of the hill so i will be back, again and again and again...if only to formulate new quiz questions.Listed in: Vegan Havens

I went here twice in two days after my first visit to grab some to-go sandwiches for a picnic. I loved it so much I've wanted to go there every day thereafter...and have tried to.
So far I've had the Chicken Club, the Reuben, the Roast Beef, and the Grilled Cheese. Many of the sandwiches are better than Locali's, and, on average, half the price. HOW?! On certain lonely nights I feel I would pay $50 to have one of their Reubens. SO HOW DOES IT ONLY COST $5?!
These are big, hearty, diner-style vegan sandwiches bursting forth with tons of fake meat and oozing cheese. The THING TO DO is go with a friend and split two sandwiches so you can try as much as you can because IT'S GONNA BE SO GOOD.
Ask what to order depending on how hungry you are. The roast beef and grilled cheeses wouldn't have been able to handle me on their own.
They also have a nice selection of grocery items. I always get the boxed vegan mac and cheese, cupcakes and some kind of NUT DIP.
Everyone should go here all the time and help them stay in business. -

i had been waiting to try this place for awhile after i saw it written up on quarrygirl. went in at around 5pm on a day that they were supposed to be open until 8.. they were out of bread. their staple items are a few kinds of sandwiches... confusing. the guy gave us a dollar off of our kombucha and sent us on our way. in spite of the confusing first visit i had planned to return and try the sandwich another time until a friend told me that she went in hours before their closing on another day and they had one sandwich roll. as far as i am concerned it's not worth driving over to this place on the off chance that they MIGHT have the ingredients to produce the items on their menu.

Disappointing Brunch is what I had when I went this past weekend. I am not a vegan, but I enjoy vegan food for the most part, especially after a work out. I appreciate the vegan chef's creativity and effort to make things taste good, with that said I had a disappointing $10 brunch buffet at The Meet Market. Ok I really can't complain since its so cheap, but it was not imaginative, and quite boring. I like the vegan scrambled egg, the fresh cut vegetables, and that's about it. The potatoes need more flavor, and the pancakes and french toasts were too dry and stiff, hard to swallow, I guess I just prefered them a bit more fluffy. They serve what tasted like Sunny-D as orange juice. I mean, if you gotta serve juice, serve bottled apple juice of something, why Sunny-D? Or am I just too picky? I should have just stayed with the regular menu...

I am not vegan (or even vegetarian) and I really enjoyed the food I got here. I got an avocado and "cheese" sandwich - everything about it was delicious and fresh tasting, including the bun. It was pretty sizable (the slice of cheese was nice and thick and there was a ton of avocado on it) and it was only $5!! The guy working was super nice too. Unbeatable!

I am a strong supporter of small businesses, if and when possible.5-6 buck chuck for sandwiches, a vegan specialty, and a mini-grocery store. Retracing the sandwiches I had: chicken salad, italian chicken, reuben sandwich, and grilled cheese wi/ onions, but the real treat is their cupcakes (vanilla) the cake is pretty bland, but their frosting is definitely a must try though it is pretty steep $2.95. Also a place I venture for kombucha, hemp milk, and marshmallow treats. I went there once and they ran out of bread and on another occasion they said they closed early due to a flood. I will give them another try for their all you can eat brunch. A few tables in and out of this establishment so do not expect 5-star service.

I stopped at The Meet Market today for the first time and I loved it from the minute I walked in. Small, cozy and vegan cupcakes on display. I ordered the Reuben and it was THE BEST sandwich I have ever had. I finished it in under 3 minutes. So delicious! I also had the coconut creme cupcake which was just delightful. I wish I had The Meet Market (or something like it) nearby. But I'll definitely be heading up to LA more often. ...Just for that Reuben.

I'm no vegan, not even vegetarian, not by a long shot. What I do love is good food. Meet Market is fantastic, delicious sandwiches and way cheaper than anything Subway or Quiznos puts out, plus they are assembled by people who care, not disgruntled teenagers. I had the "chicken" club with tempeh bacon. It was delicious! Support local food!

All vegan, no dairy!! This place is amazing!! The food is good and cheap and the Sunday Brunch Buffet is really yummy. My only gripe would be the decor and the music. They turn the music up really loud on Sunday's, and there aren't enough booths and tables. For some that might add to the charm of this place. I love that they also sell vegan cupcakes, diaya cheese and a small offerings of dry goods to take home and cook with. Parking can be tricky, but it's a wonderful neighborhood to walk in.

The best part about this place is their weekend all-you-can-eat brunch. The tofu scramble (i.e., fake eggs) is better than most tofu scramble I've had - which is saying something, as I've sampled many a tofu scramble recipe! Their fake bacon is delish here, too. They also sell a few grocery items, stocked on a set of small shelves by the counter.

So my friend and I tried coming to this place about 2 weeks ago on a Saturday around dinner time and when we walked in the guy behind the counter told us they were out of bread for sandwiches, but he could make any of the salads. We went there for the sandwiches and told him that, so he went to the back and brought out a frozen loaf of some sort of seeded bread that he claimed they used for the french toast, which honestly sort of disgusted me because seeded bread as french toast seems massively unappealing. We bought two kombucha's and headed across Hollywood to M Cafe de Chaya. Today I went into the meet market to give it one more chance. I jokingly asked the guy behind the counter if they had bread. He suddenly looked concerned and said they were "very low, he needed to go back and check". HELLLO WHY THE HELL ARE YOUR DOORS OPEN IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY SUPPLIES TO MAKE SANDWICHES?!? PULL IT TOGETHER MEET MARKET!!!! He came back and said they had some bread and after about 10 minutes my sandwich came out. For over 6 dollars, this tiny thing was HARDLY worth it. Sure it tasted okay but I'm still starving. NEVER AGAIN MEET MARKET.

I finally got my belly over to the Meet Market to try the $10 brunch! I think I had it before but it was called Flore or the Vegan Spot that time. Anyways, while the price was a little high for the amount of that kind of food you can consume (it's really filling so you can't eat that much), it was pretty darn good! I think they rotate what they serve and so this time it was a vegan version of eggs benedict (tofu on sourdough toast with tomatoes and kale and a BIG vat of hollandaise sauce), hash browns, tempeh bacon, French Toast (made with what tasted like pumpkin bread) and fruit salad. Then you could have mint water, lemonade or coffee. The staff is super nice but maybe a little too laid back...customers had to inform them things like, "there are no more forks" or "no more water"! But what do you expect on a lazy Sunday from staff during a serve yourself buffet? I think they were watching a movie in the back! I'll definitely go again! I want to try their biscuits and gravy and the regular menu!!

A poor vegan's dream. I had been wanting to try Meet Market after reading about it on Quarrygirl, and after a week of living on bulk bought grains from Co-opportunity, I decided to treat myself. And treat myself I did. I got the chef salad, which comes with chicken, beef, bacon, tomato, sprouts, TONS of avocado, daiya mozz, and a ranch-ish kind of dressing. They were out of the bacon, which was fine because this thing is such a fat bomb anyways. De-freakin'-lish. It weighed about 2 pounds (leftovers!), everything was super fresh, and the guy at the counter was really nice-- what more can you ask for? Oh, and it was $7.
