Loved this hotel. Nice walk to Pike Place and space needle right around the corner. Employees at the hotel were nice and did their job well.
Bonus: The Rock Bar and Grill is in the lobby. Awesome pizza cheap micro-brew beers!!! Don't have to leave your hotel!! Staff were awesome as well.
Rooms seemed really clean and modern. Will definitely stay here again. Good rates!! -

Great hotel. We stayed here before leaving on our cruise to Alaska. It's a very nice hotel, rooms are updated, I loved the decor, and walking distance to tourist areas.
Also we checked out at 11am but our cruise didn't leave until 4pm. The hotel held our bags while we explored Seattle more and when we returned the hotel shuttle gave us a ride to the port.
It's not a big name hotel, but give it a chance, I'm glad we did! -

The Maxwell is a wonderful hotel in the Queen Anne area - we will be back there again for sure!
The Location: The property is well maintained, on a quiet street that faces the Space Needle. You can walk the short walk to the Space Needle and hop onto the tram that will take you to downtown. It is an easy, and cheap, way to get to and from downtown from Queen Anne.
The Price: It isn't cheap but for hotels my moto is you get what you pay for! Deals can be had online if you look or have AAA or AARP discounts. The hotel allows dogs and charges a very nominal fee for the entire stay of the dog, rather then a per day fee which is fairly standard in the industry.
Public Spaces: The lobby is spacious and a great place to meet up with folks not staying at the hotel before heading out to enjoy the city. There is cupcake and coffee hour in the lobby every afternoon which is a fun treat after a busy morning of sightseeing!
The room: The rooms are newly re-done with laminate hardwood flooring, trendy appointments and very comfortable sheets and towels. My only complaint, and this is a stretch, is that in a room with hard wood floors, it would have been nice to have hotel slippers to use when walking in the room. When you book a dog room they provide in the room a dog bed, water bowl and poop-bag dispenser - very nice touches. -

As a family we will definately come back. Nice and clean! Room with two Queens was very big. Great view of Space Needle (318). Loved the pineapple cupcakes. Needed to be bigger ;)
Loved the hair dryer (full size) Tommy Bahama products smelled really good. Kinda a funky entry into the bathroom with the shower to the right. Open shower was cool. But a little chilly if your not under the hot water. No fan? Great big flat screen TV nice. Fridge was plugged in but not very cold.
Key card didn't work when we checked in. Someone had to open the door every time we went in. No complaints as someone was always available!
Pretty furniture in the lobby (tons of it) So wanted to take some of it home ;) -

This place is fuh-han-cy! We stayed here when we were a part of the Urban Craft Uprising holiday show, which was ultra-conveniently a mere block away. Every staff memeber I came into contact with - from the front desk to cleaning - was professionial. I'm a stickler for a good customer experience, and this place was top notch.
The room we stayed in was great - clean, stylish, quiet. The bathroom, and this may be small to you, but big to me, had for reals bona fide tile in the shower, not one of those cheap plastic stalls you find in even some upscale places these days. The walls also seemed solid - while the hallway outside could be noisy as people passed by, we couldn't hear anything from the other rooms which was great.
The location is also great: secure underground parking, walking distance to the Queen Anne district with plenty of food and drink options, and access to many busses to take you downtown if you don't feel like driving. And then of course the Space Needle, EMP, the monorail, and all that business.
Also interesting was that this place had some serious communal loungy areas. Super comfy chairs and tables to relax at outside of your room. I saw a group of older visitors playing go fish every morning, people reading their paper, etc. It added to the general ambiance of the hotel in my book.
All in all, I recommend it. Check their website for any deals, and carefully! We almost reserved under a seemingly obvious choice, but discovered an even cheaper deal right alongside the first. We'll definitely be staying here again next time we're in Seattle. -

Philadelphia, PA
I trekked almost 15 hours from my home in Philadelphia, suffering multiple flight delays and finally arrived at the Maxwell at close to 10 PM (when I should have been checking in 5 hours earlier). The front desk was helpful and welcoming and may or may not have been swayed by my dismal travel tales to put me in a luxurious corner room on the top floor with an AMAZING view of the Space Needle.
I stayed 3 nights in this huge, beautiful room with hardwood floors and 2 amazingly comfortable beds all to myself (you know, in case I felt like switching between them or building a pillow fort.) LOVED the decor - so fresh and fun and modern! Even the stand up/walk in shower was awesome. Flat screen LCD TV, free coffee/Keurig brewer, microwave & fridge, and free bottled water- which probably saved me at least $10 on buying bottled water out because I would just pop 2 of them in the fridge and take them out walking around with me, then have them refreshed when I came back in the afternoon. (And of course, hot coffee and mini pineapple cupcakes waiting for me in the lobby as well on my return.)
Plus, the staff is super friendly and helpful. I had an unfortunate meeting between my butt and the stairs in the lobby and both desk clerks were very concerned and asked me repeatedly if I was ok. (I'm sure the would have jumped over the desk 'Dukes of Hazard' style to help if their reaction time had been better.) And after I checked out and was out exploring, I remembered I'd left my camera charger plugged in in the room and they had it waiting for me - along with my bags - when I came back.
The hotel has a pool and bikes they loan out, neither of which I got to use on this particular trip, but I will definitely be back soon. Queen Anne is a fun, beautiful location near all the attractions and close to bus routes, monorail - a mere 15 minutes from Pike Place and downtown. I am already planning my next trip to Seattle and will most definitely be staying at the Maxwell again! -

Found this amazing little hotel from Google (and here on Yelp) and decided to take a chance. TOTALLY worth it!
This place really is a very nice, modern hotel. The rooms are actually decorated in modern styles and are very comfortable with plenty of space, large flat screens with DVD players, mini fridge, coffee maker, and microwave! There is free Wifi here, just ask for the password at the front desk (at least we couldn't find the password in the room). The lobby has a fireplace with plenty of seating if you get stuck inside and don't want to just hang around in your room, plus free coffee and fun little pineapple cupcakes, there is also a 'small' coffee/soda bar. Great location with the space needle a few blocks away, and in the same spot there is a monorail that runs downtown ($4 round trip). There are also plenty of good places to eat around the hotel.
Some people here on Yelp were weird about the open showers but these are really nice, plenty of room compared to the usual little hotel bathrooms (and really, these showers are fully walled in, they just don't have doors or curtains).
I will defiantly be staying here again when I go back to Seattle! -

This is a case where the sum is less that the constituent parts.
I stayed at the Maxwell Hotel for three nights in September, largely based on the great reviews on this site as well as TripAdvisor. Also, the Maxwell ran a "Third Night Free" promotion -- which made the Maxwell very competitive price-wise (I believe that promotion has been brought back for the remainder of 2011).
On the face of it, the Maxwell is a nice hotel, but I didn't like it. There is something cold about the hotel. The rooms are reasonably appointed, but it's not cozy or luxurious or homey, as it portends. Rather, it's cold, impersonal, hard. I didn't want to spend much time there.
To be fair, its location is reasonable (though sketchy neighborhoods abound depending on which way one wanders). The third night free promotion makes the Maxwell competitive pricewise, if one plans on spending three or more nights. And, there is free parking -- a big plus for Seattle (where one can easily spend $25-30/night for hotel parking).
No breakfast included, but lousy pineapple cupcakes and decent coffee are available each day after 3p. -
Review from Rebecca C.
We have been staying at the Maxwell since it opened. It's extremely quirky for a large hotel. It's not so much a boutique hotel as it is a clean, modern place that marches to the beat of its own drummer.
The rooms are so massive that a couple could spread out all their luggage and still have space to practice yoga, should they so choose. The bathrooms have huge walk-in showers, although they don't quite spray enough water to be suitable as a two-person shower.
The entire establishment is decorated with a dizzying array of clashing colours and textures.
The location is ideal as its right in the heart of the city, but that is also a hindrance if there is an event going on at Key Arena or Seattle Center and you are trying to get back to the hotel. And there never seems to be enough parking in the hotel parking lot, although there's plenty of street parking.
The staff are friendly and helpful. There are artistic interpretations of pineapples everywhere. The staff like to explain why there are pineapples everywhere. -

This is my (new) favorite of all the Seattle hotels I've stayed in, so far.
The location is excellent - it's a couple blocks from the Space Needle, EMP, tram, etc. If you get a room on a side of the building other than the side we were stuck with, you might get an awesome view! Our view was mostly of residential homes in Queene Anne, but that's ok too.
There is free covered parking and plentiful handicapped spots. Major kudos for that.
They have a small indoor pool downstairs (no spa) that was kept quite clean.
I know they also lend out bicycles for free, which is a neat idea.
There's no continental breakfast served here, but they do have a small "cafe" (booth) downstairs that will sell you similar items.
There are free mini pineapple (the fruit seems to pop up in much of their branding) cupcakes served in the lobby every afternoon. Yum!
The decor is extremely updated and much higher-end than the price might suggest. The bed was probably my favorite part; the matress is extremely comfortable and the bedding was very nice. The flat screen tv included a dvd player (there are free dvd's to rent downstairs) and more cable channels than you expect to see at a hotel. The only thing I didn't like in our room was the water pressure in the shower. It was kind of ridiculous, really. Yes, the shower itself is gorgeous and the whole suite is for that matter -- but a girl needs to rinse her hair.
Overall, this is a lovely hotel. -

This is a tricky place to rate. As it's still pretty new, and therefore clean and stylish with nice furnishings, you really want to like this place. However, there are a number of little issues here that offset my enthusiasm. The good news is those issues are almost all easily solvable - they're not fatal design flaws. This is why I'm still going to rate The Maxwell 4 stars, and would probably stay here again.
The Maxwell has sort of a "boutique-lite" thing going on - stylish and sleek, but not at the level of a W. One major thing missing here is a bar/restaurant. Considering the immediate neighborhood only has some small and not noteworthy bars and restaurants, that's not an insignificant thing. It does look like they're going to have a restaurant open on one side of the hotel building soon though (some sort of wood-fired pizza place maybe?), so this could change.
A little more on the location - if you're trying to use public transportation to come here, it's a solid 10 minute walk from the Monorail, which can be rough with luggage and if it's raining. There's a MetropolitanMarket (it's like a Whole Foods) about 3-4 blocks away, which is nice.
Other niceties: good free WiFi, comfortable beds, free parking (although parking is much easier/cheaper around here than Downtown), microwave and fridge, friendly staff (first bullet point below notwithstanding).
Now, for those solvable issues I mentioned:
- Their check-in policy, with blind adherence to 3PM as check in time, is absurd. I have no issue with not being allowed to check-in at 12 noon, but when I returned at 2:10pm and asked whether I could check-in now, the girl at the front desk simply looked at her watch and told me "in 50 minutes". She didn't check the computer or call housekeeping or anything to see if there might be a room ready. And having spent almost a week there, I can assure you housekeeping starts cleaning rooms around 9AM.
- Regarding the showers, while I don't understand the logic behind having no curtain or door, I didn't care so much about that. What I did care about was the weak water pressure from the shower head. It's mounted fairly high, and pretty much just drops the water. But perhaps it was only an issue in the room I stayed in, as I am surprised it hasn't been mentioned by others.
- Mini ironing board was inconvenient to use.
- The incessantly blinking smoke alarm right in the middle of the room is irritating at night.
- Nice TV, but the signal isn't HD so it's wasted.
- Lastly, my room averaged about $165 a night, which was decent, but this struck me more as a $140 a night place.
I'd love to see The Maxwell address these issues, as this could be a 5 star rating. -

I have yet to actually stay at this hotel - I had it booked for 1 nights stay and then cancelled due to changed business plans. Somehow they booked me for 2 rooms and charged my card twice - talk about miscommunication!! But based on the Customer Service I received from Matthew in Reservations, I will for sure be returning on my next trip to Seattle!!
He was patient and kind, and helped work through my issue without a hint of frustration or annoyance in his voice.
Thank you Matthew. You save redeemed Maxwell to what could have been a horrible review. :0) -

My newly wed husband and I stayed here the night of our wedding and I really liked it. Check in was easy and quick; the hotel was nicely decorated with a retro feel; the room was clean and somewhat large considering other Seattle hotels. They have free parking.
Our bosses paid for the room for us and had a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of lilies put in the room. The choices the staff made were fabulous.
I found the shower to be a bit weird, but other than that the bed was comfortable and they had a Keurig coffee/tea maker in the room. I hadn't ever used one before and I really liked it! They also provided bottled water.
I would recommend this hotel for someone who isn't afraid to pay a bit more for their rooms and get better quality. -

During my flight up to Seattle, i thought to myself: "You know what would be awesome? If the Maxwell Hotel had hardwood floors"
Imagine my delight as i walked into my room to discover that the floors were, in fact, hardwood! Ok, ok, they're really pergo, but it's infinitely better than crusty, fungus infested carpet :-)
The room itself was minimalist/modern with dark wood furnishings. The flat screen television was larger than your typical hotel set, and had a tiny DVD player connected to it - the front desk has a collection of DVDs for guests to borrow. Unfortunately, they didn't have any hardcore porn :-(
Then again, WiFi is free, so you'll have all the porn you want at your disposal.
The showers are open-door stand-up only, so if you're looking for that "Calgon take me away" experience, you may be disappointed in the lack of bathtub option. The toiletries were definitely better than your standard hotel fare, and didn't leave me smelling like a cheap bath gift basket from Wal-Mart.
The building is located on a one-way street, between the parking structure for the Seattle Center, and a part residential, part small business district. You won't find shopping, or fine dining nearby, but there are some quaint restaurants (Thai and Vietnamese) and some coffee shop nearby. The Seattle Center, Space Needle, iMusic(hip hop club), Duck Tours and the monorail are a few short blocks away.
Parking is a breeze, thanks to the hotel's FREE underground parking structure. I doubt there are enough spots for everyone when the hotel is at capacity, so be sure you reserve your parking pass the moment you check-in. Parking nearby is not cheap, and from what i saw, Seattle's parking enforcement makes that of Oakland and SF look like the Mayberry police department.
All in all, a great hotel for the price ($160-$200 per night). If you're planning on staying there soon, be sure to check out their third night free promotion. I stayed there three nights, and only payed for two. -

Maxwell hotel is AWESOME!
I stayed here for my seattle trip and the hotel is hip, contemporary, and the customer service is awesome.
A major plus is the shuttle service that runs 7am-3pm and it's basically a taxi service.. for FREE!!!
How much better can that get?
In addition, the hotel is located/near the space needle and very walkable to many destinations.
Maxwell offers complimentary bicycles, a la cart services (netbook & printer), and is super quaint and cool.
The rooms are huge and spacious!
Love this place, I wished we had a longer trip just so I could enjoy the room more!
only one thing (but not a deal breaker at all) the shower is kind of weird and is part of the bathroom, and kind of reminds me of Europe. -

Boutique Beauty, Great Location, & Superb Service
The Maxwell hotel is a lovely boutique hotel nestled in the Queen Anne district of Seattle - just mere blocks away from the Space Needle and the duck boats!
I was traveling to Seattle for a meeting with Google (cool stuff!) and was very impressed with their amenities, service, & style. Though I had a bit of a snafu with the reservation (double check the dates on your PDF confirmation!) but thanks to sweet Jessica Scott & the Maxwell manager Tyler Suddith it got sorted handily. YAY! Impressive!
The lobby is lovely, modern, and very welcoming with many comfy lounges & chairs to meet friends & co-workers. They do provide mini-cupcakes & complimentary coffee every day but was too busy to partake.
My room #524 was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had a lovely view of the Space Needle. Knowing that the hotel rooms have hardwood floors I requested a room on the top floor (5th) so as not to hear any footsteps over my head. I do wish they had had an area rug or two or a runner for cold feet - thank goodness for comfy slippers & fuzzy socks!
Knowing that they provided single serve Keurig coffee makers I brought my favourite K-Cups (Jet Fuel!) and I really enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee every morning! However, the BEST amenity that they provide guests is the FREE FAST Wireless Internet! It's 2011, why can't ALL hotels do this already!? /rant
The Maxwell is within walking distance of several restaurants including Bahn Thai and McMenamins Queen Anne's pub. It's also a short block away from the Teatro ZinZanni which provided an amazing evening's dinner & entertainment my last night! Make sure to mention the Maxwell when buying tickets for a significant discount! (see my other reviews)
Though getting a cab in this residential neighborhood was sometimes a bit of a challenge & a wait thanks to Helen at the front desk who arranged the night before for a town car ride to the airport. The car was lovely, a flat rate ($42), and arrived early. Now THAT's the way to go!
Honestly, I was very pleased by this lovely property with it's attentive service and would both recommend it to anyone and I would definitely stay again! -
Review from Mark H.
Stayed here three nights while in Seattle. Great place! In the Queen Anne area and very close to Seattle Center and a bunch of restaurants, bars and interesting shops.
Pros:
- Reasonable prices
- Clean, bright, modern rooms
- Free parking
- Fridge, DVD player, free wifi
Cons:
- No restaurant or bar
- Don't expect an easy check in if you arrive before 3pm
- If you like bathtubs not sure if they have them here
The staff is helpful and friendly. Overall if they were to add a small cafe it would be stellar. Enjoyed this place and would return. -

We thought this was a great hotel, and so reasonably priced. Everything was very clean, and well appointed. The faux hardwood floors are so much better than carpet. My only complaint is rather odd, they have the noisiest sheets! I've never experienced sheets that made noise when you turn over, my husband thought the same. Otherwise, the bed was very comfy. The Rock restaurant in the lobby has excellent pizza. The hotel is nicely located in lower Queen Anne. The free parking in their secure garage was a real plus. It was easy to get where we wanted to go in the car, and by cab (just a few minutes to get downtown via cab if you didn't want to worry about parking downtown). Efficient staff. Check for coupons or specials before you book, they really save money.

All round great place. Clean and comfortable. We liked the Queen Anne location, lots of restaurants and things to do, but not as hectic as downtown. Hotel was quiet and convenient, quick walk to Seattle Center and monorail. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel even has a shuttle van that will transport you anywhere w/i 3 miles, which covers a lot of Seattle highlights. Only complaint was shower (which was very cool) had bad water pressure, but we were on the top floor so maybe better on lower floors. Will definitely stay there again.

I am a fan of The Mawell Hotel. And here are my fabulous reasons:
FREE parking: private, gated, covered
HIP decor: mix of modern and art deco, whimsical and simple
LARGE rooms: they even had a jetted tub, open shower, and a great view of the space needle
LOCATION: just a couple blocks from the space needle/City center and the Key Arena, lots of quaint restaurants within walking distance, yet tucked up against Queen Anne with little traffic and not too busy
PERKS: order "ala carts" to your room- free carts include kids activities such as scissors, papers, markers, games, or the "surf" cart- laptop/printer, or pay extra for a "romance cart", "space needle cart", and a few others. Free bottled water and popcorn in the room, indoor swimming pool (although rather small) and weight room
The only con I found was our bathtub did not look like it had been cleaned. We called for housekeeping at 9pm and they came right up and cleaned it for us.
Would definitely recommend and stay here again. We got a great rate of $139 a night, but if you go with their best available rate (around $240 I believe) you get the third night free! -

I stayed here for a recent weekend quick getaway to Seattle and very much enjoyed my stay. The hotel is very updated and stylish..the rooms are very cute and the bathrooms are spacious as well. There is a small Gym (small but has a treadmill, eliptical, 2 bikes and a weight machine) and an indoor heated pool (I guess in Seattle you have to have indoor pools for anyone to go in lol). The area is right next to the Space Needle, The Children's Museum, Experience Music Project, Seattle Repertory Theater..so good area for people visiting with families. Walking distance to markets, liquor store, pharmacy and restaurants. The Staff was very accommodating and the stay was very pleasant. I would definitely choose this place again next time. There is a small Expresso Bar called "Pineapple Expresso" located near the front desk..and don't forget the complimentary Starbucks Coffee and mini Pineapple Cupcakes (I believe this is brought out after 4p.m. or so..). The cupcakes were a hit with our party.

This is a wonderful hotel, well located in the Queen Anne neighborhood and within walking distance of the Seattle Center and Space Needle. There are several restaurants within walking distance as well as a higher end grocery store 2 blocks away. The hotel staff were also able to provide take out menus for restaurants which deliver when our 2 year old wasn't in the best condition to dine out during our trip.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and smartly decorated. There's free wi-fi and the hotel will also lend free DVDs to view in your room (there's a DVD player in the room). The hotel even had a free activity bin to lend out for guests with kids. The hotel has free parking on a first come first serve basis but parking is tight for larger cars. It's a great hotel with a lot of character. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Seattle. -

Came to Seattle last December for a Dave Matthews concert at the Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, so I picked this hotel because it was a block from the venue, had good reviews, and the price. Really great price. If I came back to Seattle, I might stay somewhere else just because the location was only good for the concert (or the Space Needle). We walked down to the monorail and took it to go Pike's Place. Wasn't too bad, but a little inconvenient if you have no reason to be near McCaw Hall.
I loved the hotel. The decor was awesome. It was very eclectic patterns and prints, but somehow it all worked together.
Very friendly staff.
Rooms had an unstocked fridge and microwave! Such a plus. One night we bought pastries to warm up the next morning and juice so we could lay in bed and have breakfast.
Bed was really comfortable; and I didn't notice any noise like other people did, but by the time we got back to the hotel we had a few drinks in us so we slept pretty soundly.
It was only a few blocks away from Citizen, a really good Creperie, and from MetroplitanMarket, where we got some good beers and snacks to stock our fridge. Also close to Caffe Zingaro, which had some great coffee. -
Review from Nique F.
I really cannot complain about a hotel in a great neighborhood that offers free parking, free internet, AND...a free night? Yes, people. They had a 3rd night free promotion, which made it impossible not to give this new independent hotel a try. Even without the promo, their rates are super reasonable for what you get.
The decor is bright and modern, perhaps a little too cheery for some people but I enjoyed the lemon-colored walls and funky furniture. It's a nice change from the beige & navy Hampton Inn scheme. Rooms were super clean and spacious - I can think of nothing to complain about, esp. for the price ($139/nt).
Service was great and the hotel wasn't too crowded, therefore no noise problems. You've got nice restaurants and a couple bars within walking distance, and even more selection just up Queen Anne hill (a great workout, if you choose not to drive).
This is my favorite neighborhood to stay in while on business in Seattle. You're close to the freeway, but far enough from downtown to escape the hustle. I also love the small-town feel on Queen Anne with all the local boutiques and restaurants. It's easily becomes a home away from home.Listed in: sEATtle me!

Tacoma, WA
Great place to stay. This hotel has it all: gorgeous decor, secure parking, friendly staff, plenty of amenities, reasonably quiet, close to shopping (and the Seattle Center).
The room we stayed in was the Aria King. We didn't have much of a view, but what the room lacked in a window view, it more than made up for in amenities! Awesome decor from the time you walk in the building (bright and colorful, but artfully done), spacious rooms to move around in, (Not like some hotels where you can barely turn around without knocking things -or other people-over!) , mini fridge and microwave (no room service, but that's ok since I knew that going in), nice size wall-mounted LG flat screen TV, very comfortable bed, and large walk-in shower.
Parking is accessed with your room key which I thought was just too sweet and there was plenty of parking available whenever we came back to the hotel so no worries there!
Staff were nice and friendly-check in literally took less then 3 minutes, check out less than 1 minute! These guys are efficient!
This was an easy (4 block?) walk to the Seattle Center-the main reason I wanted to stay here in the first place. Love Seattle, hate the traffic! (I live in Tacoma, so I can say that! mmmmwahhhh!!)
The rate was comparable to other hotels nearby but I chose this one based on other reviews and I'm so glad I did. I will definitely be returning to the Maxwell for future overnight stays in Seattle.
One minor caveat before I go. Based on other user reviews about noise near the elevator (and I'm sure this probably applies to most hotels), we chose a room quite a ways from the elevator and enjoyed a very peaceful stay. :-) hope you find this review helpful! -
Review from Sherry S.
First of all, extremely pretty everywhere.. Colorful, classy, hip, modern. Attention to detail wherever you look.
Staff is eager to help. I had a couple of issues that were automatically corrected. One simple one was that the gym's water bottle service was empty. I went to the desk to just buy a bottled water letting them know they were out and they comped it as I had hoped they would. I asked for a quiet room and they also found me one though she put me right across from housekeeping.. ? WTH?
Speaking of quiet though, the doors seem to slam automatically and are very loud. If you don't have your heat on you will hear this.
We were on the top floor so we had no one above us as I have read that you can hear folks walking on the parquet floors.
Our room was very big which is always nice. You get a modern flat screen tv and the wifi was fast. Bathroom very clean with a nice light up mirror to put on your makeup. Once again, nice colors in the room as well.
Free parking!! Always a star for that!
Priced very reasonably. I actually got a king size bed and also one of the accessible rooms as they were available. Lots more room. I checked a week before on the price again. It had gone down 20.00 so I called and they adjusted my rate.
Big negative though. We had strobe lights going all night as the electric smoke detector is right above the bed as well as one is in the closet. Not quite sure why they have this particular type of alarm as it might be good for the staff to know it's working by the light blinking but it sucks for the customer to have it flashing the whole night. This totally took a star off. I like a dark room to sleep in. So bummer that. -

Got a great deal on this hotel with my flight on Travelocity and thought, why not?....Good thing, too, cuz this is probably the best hotel I've stayed in so far--and definitely the best for the price.
The decor is totally hipster. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful--they would print out driving directions for us whenever we asked them how to get places. They put out yummy mini pineapple cupcakes every afternoon. They are really well located, just at the base of the Queen Anne neighborhood, really close to the Space Needle and the Monorail, which will take you to downtown in two minutes and you can walk almost everywhere downtown from there. The bed was super comfortable; one friend complained that it was too cushion-y, but I loved it. The shower head was really high up, which was a nice change for a tall girl like me not to have to hunch over to wash my hair.
Really, the only thing that I didn't like was that the mini fridge was at room temp even though it was on--although I'm sure if we'd complained they would have fixed it. -

Plusses
+Modern, clean hotel
+Pineapple cupcakes in the evening
+FREE BIKE RENTAL (needed for this poor location)
+Nice room
+Tully's coffee in room
+Popcorn & microwave in room
+Did face the Space Needle & Downtown skyline
Negatives
-Bad location. In the Queen Anne neighborhood. This would only be a good location for parents and kids since the Seattle Center is a children magnet like Disney World.
-Seattle is boring. Just because this hotel is in Seattle it gets one less star. I realized there is no reason for a tourist to come to this city. I saw all the "attractions" and I was not too satisfied. -

This is a hotel that I will be visiting again soon. There are many reasons why this hotel get's a five-star rating:
Pros:
- Great views of the Space Needle and close to Seattle Center
- Great location. Close to shops, cafes, restrauants, and Teatro Zinzanni! It's literally a five minute walk and if you are out of town and going to TZ pick this hotel as you get a discount when mentioning the Maxwell.
- Very spacious rooms and comfy beds. This is probably the most comfortable hotel bed I have slept in.
- Very unique and modern deco throughout the hotel. The lobby is amazing with plently of sitting areas and a coffee stand. They do provide coffee and cupcakes in the lobby and I was going to sample one when some woman took the last eight cupcakes and ran back upstairs to her room with them. I know they are little but come on . . . . You had to take eight of them? The kid behind me didn't even get one.
- FREE PARKING. This is a good one. Covered parking that is free which is nice on the Queen Anne area.
-Flat screen TV and free wireless internet.
-Free coffee, bottled water, and pop-corn in the rooms. No extra charge if you open up the pop-corn.
- We didn't get a chance to use the gym or the pool but we did take a quick peep. They looked well maintained and the pool is perfect for kids to play in or just for a soak. No swimming laps here.
Cons:
- Bathrooms are very spacious but the shower can be a little strange to some folk. They are constructed to be open with no door or shower curtain. I have been to Europe so this shower wasn't that unusual to me but my husband was a little weirded out by it. But they did install a shower curtain for some privacy but honestly it didn't bother me that much.
- We didn't stay long enough! I was a little depressed checking out.
- That lady was greedy with the cupcakes : /
This is a great hotel that everyone should check out. It would be perfect for a bachelorett or birthday party. Check in early if you can to guarentee a parking space and grab a cupcake before someone snatches the whole plate . . . Really though who does that? -

Positives: LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
Good price. Free parking. Comfy beds. Open rooms. Chic and trendy. Bright and colorful. Espresso bar in lobby. Big plasma TV in room. Nice bathroom. Mini fridge and coffee maker. Staff was friendly and nice.
Negatives: NOISY!
We could hear the neighbor's TV. We could here the people out smoking next to the drive up part of the lobby at all times of the night. All the elevators are at one end and our room was on the other end. Parking was tight.
Honestly for the price and location, I would definitely stay there again. But I'll be asking for a room on the other end of the hotel. -

Awesome hotel! Really beautifully decorated, spacious rooms and free garage parking. Front desk was quick, warm, and helpful. You get a lot for your money. I'll definitely be back.

This was an awesome boutique hotel that I'd totally return to if I ever went back to Seattle. The price was decent and the amenities/decor were fabulous! Their theme is modern, contemporary, with pineapples everywhere! I love that they have little pineapple cupcakes out in the afternoon along with coffee. The decor of the lobby and rooms are very chic and the people were very kind as well. The room also had a mini-fridge that made it convenient for us to store liquor and food we purchased at the local store (within walking distance). They also provide a free shuttle service to just about anywhere you'd want to go in the Seattle area. We used this service several times to get us out to the pier and to other areas we were checking out. And our driver was nice enough to provide us with a map of the city and recommendations for places to check out. The hotel isn't super close to the busy, downtown area, but I think that made for a good balance. We went to the downtown area as well as the pier pretty much every day that we were in town so it was nice to come back to the hotel where it was more residential, calm, and a bit detached from the busy hustle and bustle of the city. Fabulous hotel!

We loved our overnight stay and wish it had been longer. The decor is funky and energizing and the hardwood floors give it "clean" feeling. They keep their rooms and entire hotel comfortably cool which we appreciated.
The front desk staff were very helpful, efficient, and friendly. They even called a cab for us when we were in a rush.
My only drawback is that I wish they had a continental breakfast. Nothing fancy, maybe just some yogurt, fruit and bagels that guests dont have to pay for. We did visit the espresso bar though, and I enjoyed my croissant cinnamon roll that the barista warmed up for me.
We will be back! -

Great hotel, great nightly rates and friendly staff! We stayed 2 nights in a King Aria room. Room was well laid out, small sitting area, flat screen TV, dvd player, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and safe! It had it all! The bathroom was huge with a beautiful marble countertop. Great amenities in the bathroom, not your typical cheap, off smelling products. We were greeted by 2 people at the front desk when we arrived, we had mini pineapple cupcakes and the check in process was a breeze! We had a room with a view of the Space Needle. Great curtains to make the room extra dark for those of us that aren't morning people...that would be me! I enjoyed sleeping in and then letting the light in when I was ready.
Small indoor pool, but heated, lots of seats and big windows. Many seating areas in the lobby that were frequently occupied! Free parking...how fantastic is that?!
So many places to walk to - we went to Jabu's, Peso's, Hula Hula, Ozzie's, Oskar's and Dick's drive in! Monorail is easy to access by foot also, we took that downtown one day, scenic route and quick!
My only complaints were minimal - the elevator makes a terrible noise at each floor (so glad I didn't have a room close to that!) and the coffee from the espresso stand was terrible, like not drinkable. Not to worry, many other coffee choices within walking distance.
I can't wait to stay here again! -

Do not stay here! The people who worked there gave us wrong directions on the 4th of July. They didn't know Roy street cut off at a highway. It's loud. Crapy view of the space needle. They have bikes but didn't tell us we could use them.
Taxi drivers will take you to the max.... Not knowing of this new place.
It might look cool---- don't be fooled it's crap. -

My friend has a theory about hotels. It all lies in the bathroom and from there, it can tell you everything you need to know about the rest of the place. The bathroom is very clean, modern, and well-stocked with things called hair protector and body refresher. The only thing amiss is there is no shower curtain. And I don't mean they forgot to put it up, there's no where to put it. There's also no fan in the bathroom, which actually worked out well to smooth out some wrinkled clothes!
In essence, this hotel is a little off. Not to full blown bozo, but a little out there at first glance. It only opened in March for 2010, and like someone else said, there are a few kinks. I'm not a fan that housekeeping came around at 9:00am and started the vacuums shortly thereafter. If you want to sleep in, good luck! I liked the location, near Seattle Center and we actually walked to Pike's Place with no worries (mind you, we are NYC walkers). We also rented their free bikes to go around U-Dub. The bikes are the three speed, back break ones you had when you were 12, but they worked. Parking is free but if you are coming in late, it is REALLY tight. We came back at 10:30 on a Thursday night, and we barely got in the one spot left.
The rooms are clean and they offer to not change the sheets unless you put a card on the bed asking them to change them out. I always appreciate that. The fridge, microwave, popcorn, and coffee was very much appreciated. The beds were comfortable. As I am looking around the room, I defy anyone to find a print-type or color that these people missed. Plaid chairs, checkered blanket, fleur-de-lys' comforter, wooden floor, zig zag curtains, rainbow lined carpets. It works, but as I said before, it's just a little off.
Don't miss their pineapple theme which was explained to me as the sign of hospitality according to one of the staff. They have free pineapple cupcakes every afternoon with coffee in the lobby.Listed in: The Other Big Blue Wet Thing

Clean, modern and posh.
When you walk into this hotel it just gives off an elegant traditional air with a few modern elements mixed in (seen in the lobby furniture and the carpet).
Although I haven't had the pleasure of staying here I have attended a few events here and was pleased with the atmosphere.
The conference room was a little small but filled with comfy lounge furniture and a large flat screen TV. The bathrooms nearby were very clean.
Also, you can't beat the location. This hotel is only a block to Seattle center and is within walking distance of EMP, the Space Needle and the Seattle Monorail (which takes you downtown in a matter of minutes)
Perfect for tourists. If we ever needed a hotel in the Seattle area, this would be the first place we would go! -

Chicago, IL
I stayed here for two nights in early September and, overall, I would give the place a "pretty good" rating and would probably stay there again.
Pluses:
Queen Anne location, if you need to be up there, close to Seattle Center and Space Needle.
Price is right.
Free parking. Nice staff. Clean. New. Modern (dare I say somewhat "cool"?) decor and vibe. Free cupcakes in the afternoon. Pretty big rooms.
Minuses:
No scale that you can borrow to weigh your suitcase to make sure it is under the detestable 50 pound airline limit--you must haul your giant suitcase down to the health club and weigh it. Take it back to your room. Remove an item or two. Repeat. Very tiresome. The hotel should have a small scale to lend their guests.
No shower curtain in the shower area and the bathroom opens directly into the bedroom--your better be friendly with your roommate, since you will probably see a lot of them! I dig the open shower concept, generally. But in this case all you get is a wet floor and goose bumps, since the low flow shower head makes it difficult to really warm the bathroom [see next].
The bathrooms could use some supplemental heat.
The damn thermostat is so bright that it is actually kind of annoying--I ended up covering it with a piece of cloth. On the other hand, you won't need to bring a nightlight!
No restaurant. I like to have breakfast in my hotel so I can, shall we say, take care of business afterward. -

We got off to a rocky start because of some pet fees and contracts that wasn't made clear to us prior to check in, but the assistant general manager, Tyler made amends and treated us well. (So well in fact, that I made strides to get him tickets to see Bob Dylan!) He even took the time to send us a follow-up letter after we checked out.
The hotel is pet friendly, modern and the rooms are good-sized. The staff is pretty accommodating, and welcoming. Parking is great, and there are great pubs and restaurants nearby. Everything you're looking for regarding hospitality.
Yes, we would stay here again, and we definitely can't wait to do so!
