Obviously there need to be separate listings for the hotel, restaurant, bar, valet, residence, etc.  Because I am amazed that anyone writing about "The Mansion on Peachtree" (I assume that refers to the hotel) could find much to complain about here.

For various special occasions/gifts/etc. I have stayed in several luxury hotels over the years - the Plaza Athenee and Hotel Crillon in Paris spring to mind first and foremost.  Surprisingly, The Mansion gives both of those stunning experiences a strong run for their money (and at a fraction of the price).  Now, the difference is gazing off of your balcony at either the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysee or the Phipps Plaza parking lot, but for Atlanta I think this is probably as good as it gets.

I reserved a balcony suite here for the wife's birthday, and was absolutely thrilled with everything from the moment we stepped through the front doors.  Actually from before that moment, as we had arranged (through the hotel) for a town car to come pick us up at our house and drive us there.  On that note, a special thank you should go out to the concierge and entire hotel staff, who made me look good with dozens of special touches and surprises for the wife.  (I won't describe them all, so that others can design their own special weekends instead of biting mine.)  As an example, they actually bumped us up from a balcony suite to a premier double balcony suite, and yet I never heard so much as a peep about this very generous gesture.  I guess that's just business as usual at "THE MANSION."

The room was impressive (they have a freaking flat-screen hidden behind a remote-controlled painting), and decked out in what you might call "modern luxury": sleek lines and funny angles covered in fluffy linens and soft pillows.  I don't know, think Berlin meets the Roman Empire.  But in a good way.  Room service was fantastic (they called to let us know our breakfast would arrive *three minutes* later than the estimated time *GASP!!!*).  And without kids for the first time in whoknowshowlong, I actually slept until 10:30 in the morning.

All in all, a fantastic weekend.  This would be my go-to spot for a luxurious getaway in Atlanta, if I got away more often.

Oh, as a PS... my wife tried a deep-tissue massage at the Spa, and was happy, but the massage technician had a little gas issue.  Not classy, 29 Spa, not classy.

Following our wedding we spent two nights in one of the Mansion's suites hoping to
a) cushion the blow of going back to the reality of boring everyday life
and
b) make ourselves forget that we're postponing our honeymoon til Christmas so as to avoid spending the holidays with my nutjob family.

Bad idea!!! The hotel staff catered to our every whim and we nearly cried spoiled rotten tears and threw a joint temper tantrum when we had to go home!

First, room service. We called on them every time our tummies growled for food, and they kept us filled with delicious vittles day and night.

Second, the soft and squishy king size bed. Loved it! And the linens and all those huge down filled pillows. The bed made one hell of a trampoline on which for me to rejoice being married to my Sweet Baboo. (FINALLY! Hallelujah!)

The bathroom was enormous and well appointed. Pootie loved that it was done in all white save the brown marble counter tops. The exhibitionist in me loved that the tub was perched right in front of a floor to ceiling window overlooking the Atlanta skyline though I seriously doubt anyone could see our naughty bits. Speaking of the soaking tub, I didn't totally love it b/c it was too short for me to fully stretch out in and it wasn't jetted.

Then there was 29 Spa which was pretty fabulous. I had a deep tissue massage hoping to ease the tension that had reached the boiling point in my neck and back. It hurt SO good!  Despite that I'm an anxious, very anal type A who finds it impossible to relax unless under the influence of alcohol or prescription drugs.

Post massage I checked out the sauna and steam room then took a dip in the whirlpool but I wasn't entirely sure it was kosher to be whirling nekked so I split after just a few minutes. I didn't try any of the other spa services (various facials, body scrubs, mani/pedi, etc) but I do plan to return and test them out soon b/c most all of them incorporate grape seed oil which is wonderful for the skin.

We never made it down to Neo or Craft--we were too lazy to get dressed despite that we paid someone at the hotel to press our 'eating out at a nice restaurant' outfits. I did visit the bar though. The staff were very friendly and it seemed a cool place to hang out if you're into bar lounging.

The gym was pretty OK for a hotel gym. It had the basic cardio equipment and a sprinkling of weight machines. The small business center fulfilled my insatiable urge to do a little late night Internet surfing and had all the necessary things one would need to work away from home...a couple of compooters, a fax machine, a giant copier, etc.

Pootie would love to live at this Mansion..PERMANENTLY! Picture it.....

"Hello, room service?! We're ready for second breakfast now. We'd like 4 Belgian waffles, 6 biscuits, 8 scrambled egg whites, 6 orders of bacon, a basket of pastries, a glass of 2% milk, 2 OJs and 4 of those cutie pie little bottled Cokes...got all that? You'll be here in 20? Excellent!! Thxkbai!" [inset sound of Pootie jumping on the bed]

This is write up for the bar/lounge of the hotel.  When you first pull up into the hotel, you know you are in for an experience..  The building is absolutely stunning.  As soon as you pull up, you are greeted by very friendly valet (which may I add is complimentary which is rare these days at hotels).

As stated in reviews before, the bar is a little tricky to find once you get inside, but it is somewhere where you don't mind getting lost for a second and seeing all the decor and feel of this full service butler hotel.

As we made our way to the bar, it wasn't all stuffy with corporate up types as I thought it would be.  It was a very sexy, mellow crowd.  Plenty of comfortable seating and great ambiance lighting...

Of course I wanted to go right to the patio area which is amazing with a soaring high ceiling and gas lit lantern lights above...

The drinks were great, but not for the tight in the wallet types, they are not cheap...  The service was great.  No uptight servers who act like they own the place and not work there twhich you find alot at high end establishments.  Our server made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us regularly.  No looking around wondering when she was coming back.

I think this is a great place to go with friends for drinks or to take that special someone.  This place that is still a hidden gem and not overflowing with people and giving you a great ambiance and experience.

Now if I could only purchase one of the $9 million dollar condos that sit atop the hotel so I could just have my drinks and go upstairs home...  Well, at least I can enjoy the bar and drinks for now.....

Stayed here for the Thanksgiving Holiday and LOVED IT!!!
This is an elegant hotel that pays attention to detail from the minute you pull up the valet/bell service is very attentive.  The rooms are comfy and spacious  with very comfortable beds and top notch linens.
You have a butler (or many) that take good care of you (ask for the ginger snap cookies), a beautiful spa, heated pool, nice gym, beautiful garden, and the BEST bartender BOJAN in their lounge/piano area.
The NEO restaurant is also top notch for breakfast, lunch or and dinner!
Bathrooms are almost as large as the rooms with a deep tub and separate large shower that could accommodate 2-3 people comfortable.
The decor is art deco- very elegant!
Whether you are seeking a decadent hotel, a nice place for a drink or a romantic spot for a date- The Mansion is the perfect place!

*** a couple bonus's CRAFT is opening 500 feet away.  Saks (east) Neimens (west) and Borders Books (south) all across the street.

I only visited the bar/lounge area for some network event. The drinks were a bit pricey but the service made up for it. Everyone was so nice. They didn't have that condescending tone that you normally encounter when you visit these pretentious over-priced places in Buckhead (and beyond). They also had little snacks that you can munch on while you sip your wine.

As you drive in, you immediately know you are in for a treat. There's this courtyard thingy outside, very nice enclosed space. Then the valets greet you so nicely and to top it off, it's complimentary (take that, W Buckhead!) and done with a smile. They open the doors for you, very nice service all the way. The hall way leading up to the bar is very chic. Their interior decorator deserved his/her paycheck. The bathrooms were also to die for. Makes you want to sit in a little longer.

I will try to come back as much as me and my wallet can. I just love places like this, makes you feel like you've taken a trip, like a mini-vacation.

This is review is for the bar area as well as the hotel staff.

I have now been to Mansion 3 times and each time I go like it more and more.  The b.f. and I met after work this past Friday for drinks at the bar.

Pulling into the turnaround courtyard at the front of hotel, you are met by the nicest valets/bellmen.  Finding the bar is a bit tough if you don't know where you're going, but who cares - wander around the hotel.  It's worth it as it is absolutely exquisite.  Seriously.

The bar is on the smaller side and narrow, but very comfortable, warm and beautiful.  Stephanie, the bar manager and James, head mixologist both took superb care of us.  They have a great inventory of liquor, including hard-to-find/rare bottles such as Chartreuse PEV and make very tasty drinks (custom ones, too).  Two of their specialties are the Lady Sapphire and the Bellini which I did not try, but will definitely do so in the future.

The bar at Mansion have crushed the Ritz & Intercontinental as favorite hotel bars of mine.  Be warned though, prices are not for the faint of heart.

Went a couple weeks ago and was not impressed at all.

Started with the Buffalo Mozzarella Caprice and it was just okay.  Nothing better than anything you can get at a mid range decent Italian restaurant.

Next was a soup, the tomato basil.  It was okay, very smoth but not as tasty as many I've had at much cheeper places.  The $3 tomato basil at La Madeline is much better than the $15 at the mansion.

Mushroom Risotto was next.  It was good, probably the highlight of the meal.

I finished with the Tuna and pine nuts.  It sounded great on the menu but I don't know...it was a little bland and really just nothing special.

The Tiramisu desert was wonderful, but the coffee was not.

The restaurant has a nice wine list but the waiter didn't offer any suggestions and seemed very uninformed.

The restaurant decor was old South charm. Very much what you would expect from a restaurant called 'The Mansion on Peachtree".

By the time we were finished we spent $300+ dollars on a meal for two and I couldn't help thinking a restaurant like Carrabba's would have been 1/3 of the cost and three times as delicious.

I had high hopes for the mansion and was utterly disappointed.  I will likely not return.  Fine dining it is, but tasty dining it is not...

Very proper service with a "white glove" touch.  Early in the game but plenty of promise to shine here with a Rosewood Hotel and Craft Restaurant.  Going to be a "spot" on the beautiful strip that's coming together very soon.

I can only comment on their bar. Really beautiful place. Service was exceptional and the decor was modern and smelled incredibly new. The bartender James was great and friendly and the cocktail waitress was beautiful and very sweet as well. Of course I was most impressed by the fact that they had Fernet, a new bottle at that. Had a great time. Would go back. But this is where the very rich hang out. Not your neighborhood spot. Unless you got it like that or know someone who does.

Impeccable 5 star hotel towering above the busy hustle and bustle of Peachtree Road in Buckhead. My husband took me here in January for a birthday night to remember. As soon as we pulled up we were treated like royalty. At the check-in desk the first thing that was spoken to me was "Happy Birthday Mrs. Newman". The rooms are spacious and completely luxurious from head to toe. All I can say is "WOW" about the bathrooms. Huge soaking tub in front of a flat screen tv, double vanities, and a stand up shower big enough for two. Waiting on the console table in the room was a rich, and oh so good, chocolate mousse dessert with two spoons and a piece of chocolate with the words 'Happy Birthday' written on it. These special touches just made the overall experience that much more amazing. The service is nothing short from perfect in every way. Great lap pool downstairs that my swimmer husband took full advantage of. We also enjoyed wine after dinner at the lavishly decorated bar right off the lobby. Next time, and there will be a next time, we are going to have to get treatments at the spa.
