I've used the Maids twice now and am really impressed. I've used other companies and individuals but no one cleans like they do. Having 4 people come makes a HUGE difference. I'm really happy that we found a cleaning services that does a better job than I would cleaning.

I think that "The Maids" is a great addition to the Kyle Area I look forward to the day I can use them frequently.

We had The Maids come to our house last week to do a deep-cleaning. We had used them a couple of times 3 or 4 years ago before we got our dogs.  This time, we needed them to clean for prepping our house to put on the market!  For the money, I'm somewhat disappointed.

I may be a bit demanding when it comes to my cleaning standards when paying someone else. While this definitely would not have passed muster in a white-glove Marine Corps inspection, it might be just fine for other people.  That said, I was less than thrilled.  Granted, a couple of the rooms in the house were complete disasters--ie, the master bathroom and the kitchen.  There was a lot of elbow-grease that needed to go into cleaning those rooms. But after reviewing the work when they were done, there were areas in those rooms that were not touched.

First, the master bathroom:  the mirror still had spots on it that easily came off when I used Windex and a paper towel.  There were parts of the vanity counter that had not been cleaned (the backsplash).  The soap insert in the shower still had leftover dried scum on it.

Second, the kitchen: the top of the refrigerator had not been dusted, as evidenced by the half-inch of dust accumulated at the top of it.  The cabinets had not been wiped clean--hence, beverage stains that wiped up easily when I used a paper towel and water.

Third, mopping the tile: there were dried foster-dog-pee stains that weren't cleaned up in parts of our dining room which cleaned up no problem when I used my mop after the fact.

I don't know about you guys, but for $400 plus tip for 3 hours of work, I'm not using them again.

I've used the maids on a regular basis for 5 years now, and while they aren't perfect, they are head and shoulders above the other services I tried before finding them.  This is a long review, but since they've cleaned for me around 100 times now, I've a lot of experience to comment on:

I work a pretty intense job from home, so it's important to me that my house gets cleaned as quickly and with as few interruptions as possible.  When they come to the door, I give them 2 minutes of instruction on anything unique for that cleaning, and then I am not interrupted again until it's time for them to clean my office. When they are finished I spend a couple of minutes looking around, and if I catch something not done to my standards (pretty rare!) they take care of it before they leave at no extra charge. I love that they send 4-5 people so the whole house is spotless in just about an hour.

regarding scheduling, 1 of 2 reasons I give them 4 stars and not 5 is there have been a number of times over the past year when we changed our cleaning schedule and they didn't reflect the change properly.  Since they email and call the day before they come, I was able to correct them before they came out. They showed up early once when I had requested they come after a specified time, and a quick call to the office prevented me from being charged for their wait.

As far as price goes, the first cleaning is the most expensive, then it's based on how long they think it will take to clean you house.  I pay around $200 a clean for them coming once every 3 weeks, for an almost 3000 sq ft house. We are reasonably neat and clean people, but I'll readily admit I do little cleaning other than sweeping in between cleans (don't judge!)

On quality, the 2nd reason for 4 stars instead of 5: I had no problems at all with my primary team for 4 years, then we moved and changed days and our new team was not that great - they were a little too rough and not as thorough.  A call to the office was all it took, though, and we are back on track with a new team who are careful and detail oriented. Only one time in 5 years have I found something that they completely missed after they left (they didn't clean a tub that hadn't been used but was dust), and they came back out to clean it at no charge when I called to let them know.  I get a call about once every quarter to ask about how the team is doing and see if I have any concerns.

I've yet to find the perfect cleaning service, but these guys are the best I've found.

I used to have help with the house but then when the economy went south that was one thing that had to go.  But this past week I decided as a birthday present to myself I'd have The Maids come by.  I was told they were efficient and would get the blinds, the baseboards etc and they did.  they made my shower glass shine...that in itself was worth some money.  And yes I have had cheaper services but as I walked around I really thought they did a great job and looking at their prices if I have them every 5 weeks or so (rather than 5 years), the price is really reasonable.  And it was soooo nice coming into a clean home...

We had to find another cleaning service because the cost of using The Maids had become prohibitive. We had dropped to one clean per month to save money, but had decided to go back to twice a month. Unfortunately, they wouldn't let us keep the price we previously had when they were providing service twice a month.  I was willing to pay a premium for the speed and consistency we'd experience with them, but $300+ a month could get me a pretty good car payment. We've switched to one of their competitors and the quality is the same or better, and the cost is much more realistic.

I scheduled my 1 time cleaning ,referred through my friend who schedules them monthly.
My experience was okay as far as the cleaning goes , however they were not really honest about the time they did the job and i was charged per minute instead of the hour that was committed earlier when i scheduled the service.
I have employed better maid service in the past who are equally as good as The Maids -but far more economical for 1 time service.

    Great cleaning, lousy management!

Ok--I hate cleaning the house--and when the Dr's said that I couldn't, I was more that happy to take the wifs advice and try out a few house cleaners to see which did the best job.  The Maids are the second.  I've failed to review Castle Cleaners, but should get to it soon. The Maids did a top notch job of cleaning--the problems here are with management and the office--sooo....

I'll state it again. The Maids did a great job cleaning the house.  They cleaned in places that the last crew didn't even think about cleaning.  Too, they were fast. They cleaned the house in an hour less than it took the last crew to clean--and thank God for that, since they charged almost $80 more than what "Roy" quoted to me.  Let me write more about Roy.

When I called to find out what the Maids were all about (thanks to a YELP review), the switchboard sent me to Roy  (Roy had to call me back three times because their phone system was "wonky").  Okay,, that is just an annoyance.  But, don't talk to Roy unless you have plenty of time to listen.   Roy can talk talk talk about all the products they use (one by one), how a HEPA vacuum works, can describe the cleaning process in minute detail--he even explained to me the billing (which I took meticulous notes on). Okay, he talks but he didn't seem that interested in listening to the client--in this case, me.   I explained to him that I could not be scheduled for certain hours because I have to take and pick up from school. He said they could meet my parameters and so we scheduled Monday and he said that the scheduler would get back to me with a specific time. Again, I reminded him of when I could be available.  He said no problem and that Cindy would be getting in touch with me to schedule the time.  I informed him that I would be leaving town and that Cindy needed to call me before I left--he assured me that she would.  She did not.  When I returned I checked my my messages, and on Friday evening (while I was out of town), CIndy left a brief message, here is the totality of her message: "This is Cindy from the Maids--we're coming over Monday."  I immediately called the Maids and didn't get Roy--I found out that they were scheduled to come that day right at the time I specifically stated that they couldn't be there.  I was put on the line with Cindy--who rescheduled for a time that I could be there.  Cindy was on the verge of being apologetic, I'd say that she almost made one...  but pinned the problems more on Roy for not taking careful notes.  Well, today is the day for the cleaning and I was called this morning when I was dropping off at school, and they were there!  Already! Waiting on the porch!  Earlier than we had scheduled (which is a good thing, I guess.  Except they were charging by the hour).  So, in the end, I was charged $276.25 for a little less than two hours of cleaning--this for a 1000 SQFt house with one bathroom.  This was over the quoted price and more than Castle Cleaning.  So I am debating with myself as to whether or not to have them come again.  The wife was surprised that I rescheduled after the first problem.  So given Michelann Q's review here on YELP, I'm beginning to think that the administrative hitches are more than hitches but something endemic to The Maids--The Maids, as individual cleaners,  are definitely worth it--the management needs to step it up.

We've been using The Maids for about a year and they do a great job.  They always  come in teams of at least 4, so they are done quickly.  You'll be assigned to a team, so that the same team cleans your home each time.  Each time they leave a pre-stamped comment card asking you to rate their services.

They also have a great policy that if anything isn't cleaned to your liking, just call within 24 hours and they'll reclean whatever wasn't done properly, free of charge.  I did that one time when a new team member dropped the ball.  But things like that happen occasionally with any cleaning service and the important thing is how professionally the management handled it.

Scheduling is very easy.  Each team has at least one member who speaks fluent English so it's easy to give them any special instructions when they arrive.

This is also a locally owned family business that is involved with the community & supports local charities.  I went to their office to pick up gift certificates they donated for a non-profit's silent auction and just in the short time I had to look around their offices, I got the impression that they really care about their employees.

The Maids has cleaned our house for several months now, but it's time to kick them to the curb. They are way too expensive, the cleaning is inconsistent, and they break stuff. Sure, they're fast, but is that really such a plus? I'd rather it take longer and have the place dusted thoroughly. Moreover, I can't imagine that the people they hire are getting paid even 25% of what The Maids charges its customers - which makes me feel kind of bad for giving the actual cleaning people a bad review... but so be it.

We just went through an extensive and messy bathroom remodel and have also been out of town for two weeks.  The house was covered in concrete dust, drywall dust, etc...  Keep in mind, while the majority of the construction was happening, it's been raining.  Think mud everywhere!! They came in with a crew and cleaned everything (including mopping all the hardwood floors) in under two hours.  It would have take us all weekend long to do what they did.  If it weren't a tad pricey I would have given them 5 stars.  As it is, for $240, it was money well spent.  By the way, all the baseboards, window sills, ceiling fans, molding were wiped down.
