Came here for lunch with my girlfriends for the first time last weekend and I must say that I am now a fan of their zucchini bread as well! Of all the things that we ordered I'm going to have to say that that was my favorite!

The ambiance definitely gives off the traditional American diner vibe and was pretty quaint and cozy. The seats could get a little sticky.. but hey every diner can be. The wait staff was pretty friendly and it wasn't the our same server who kept asking if everything was ok, it was all of the servers which I found very nice. Like they weren't just asking because of their tips but because they were sincere about it.

Now on to the important stuff, the food!
    We ordered the:
    - Reuben sandwich with garlic fries (the sandwich came with very tasty sourdough bread and the sauerkraut wasn't TOO strong, which was perfect, in my opinion. The garlic fries were topped with fresh garlic! It needed a bit more garlic but overall was still very delicious)
    - Bayou Salad with the zucchini bread (the salad was nothing special, I actually don't remember it too much.. the BREAD, was heavenly :) definitely a delicious/sweet treat that I was not expecting.)
    - pumpkin bread (was good.. but I'll probably never get again. It was a bit dry for my taste but my friends seemed to love it).

Was my first time in NoHo and this joint definitely made it a nice experience! :)

U always are welcome at the grille.  Today I am trying something new the Denver omelette a classic
Can't wait to taste the goodness

Ok i got my "Denver" egg dish and I was surprised the cheese was so stringy that it was like Mozzarella ..I even asked the waitress if it was a mistake I" really could not enjoy my omelette  But the "Hash Browns were Awesome !!  So I at the Browns and had te "Firecracker" fresh salsa that is GREAT!!!  and the place was too busy today

    everybody was still friendly
but I have had better days here for sure!!

plus when I showed her the food that I did NOT enjoy it she made NO effort to rplace or Comp it

Ok have a great Yelp of a Day

Free Kidd food on Tuesday s after 4 I think

I've been here twice for breakfast with the wife so far and will likely go back. The location is not the most gentrified neighborhood but there's nothing unsafe about it, at least at breakfast time there isn't. I really liked the breakfast burrito last time but had the power breakfast this time. The latter being tasty but not so cheesy. What will get you here is the baked goods. If your counting calories stay away from the bread, but if you walked here then get your favorite. I am down with the zucchini bread and didn't hate the coffee cake.
Here's what would make this a 5 star:
    - Tighten up the bloody Mary. It's good but with Soju as the vehicle for pleasure it needs something. Call the griddle cafe and steal their recipe. It's solid. Still, happy they rock the attempt here.
    - upgrade the decor with a little paint and lights.
    - Add a couple of interesting breakfast combos. It's mostly the standard fare and could corner a niche by combining the bakery options, say French toast made from the zucchini bread, or homemade bread bennies...
    - Rock the bottomless Bloody Mary thing. This brings out the crowds.
Service is over the top, although the first time our server was a little too cool for school. He came around with free bread samples but started us off a little indifferent. Everybody else has been the bomb.
    Yes I will go back.

The Food was Good,  Just a lil Expensive for the small portions they give you, If U ask me. They Take your Order Fast, and bring Your Food fast but after that it seemed like everything went downhill. My Waitress either went on break or forgot about me. I Found myself asking the other waitresses to bring me a Refill on my OJ. It also took a while to bring me the check, I was so tempted 2 just walk out without paying but I didn't..and didn't leave a tip either. I probably wouldn't ever go back here again. But I'll give it a 3 stars for the sale of being nice.

This place got terrific yelp reviews, but I can't say I was impressed.  In a nutshell, it is an average diner, with typical decor and menu.  As an aside, it seems to be a popular place with the NoHo hipster crowd.  A plus is that there is a dog-friendly outdoor seating area.

Both service and food were so-so.  The waitress brought my coffee quickly, but it took nearly 10 minutes to get milk and a spoon to go with it.  The breakfast specials sounded great and were in the $8-10 range.  Again, it took longer than it should have to get our food.  My plate came with "2 slices" of french toast, which turned out to be one piece of bread cut into 2 triangles.  The scrambled eggs were good.  Hash browns were kinda limp and mushy.  The bacon texture was weird, it seemed like it had been cooked and then reheated or left under a heat lamp.  My hubby got chicken fried steak, which was quite good.  His plate came with a tasty fruit salad, although he wished they had done a better job pre-cutting the fruit (had to remove melon rinds himself and cut fruit into bite sized pieces).

Hit this place twice so far and I have to admit the no frills simplicity of it has charmed a brotha.  First off, the food is very good.  Both times I went for breakfast-- first time had the breakfast quesadilla which I loved, the second time I got the Belgian waffle with strawberries and liked it enough.  The bacon is real and cooked on premises which is a step up from Bea Bea's in Burbank who use that pre-cooked bacon, but let's stay focused on Magnolia Grille (why do they have an "e" at the end of the word Grill??)

The service is really friendly here and the prices are cheap for a sit down breakfast joint.  But take note, this place is not all hip and nouveau like EAT which is another one of my favorite breakfast spots, but this place gets the job done.  The pastries in the glass case looked great so I will try one soon (though I'm trying not to put that 10lbs on that I did last holiday season so I gotta pick and choose).  I will probably become a regular here.  Put on your sweats and baseball cap and check this spot out.

This is my favorite place to come when I'm in NoHo.

No matter how busy they are, the wait staff is always nice and accommodating.  We're always seated pretty quickly and drink orders taken shortly after.

Typical diner fare with some yummy surprises.  My favorite for lunch is the grilled cheese and fries and breakfast they make a mean plate of pancakes.

First time in this place and was quite happy with things. Ordered the corned beef hash and eggs - well, egg beaters and fruit and sourdough toast. Food was tasty, the sweetness of the fruit complemented the spiciness of the hash. It wasn't really spicy but thought it was just a good complement. Will definitely come back next time I am in the area.

I love this place for three reasons: (1) The good is very good; (2) The service is good; and (3) it's about a block and a half from my place.  I love the fact that this is a family owned and run business. I've eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Also, their homemade cakes, pies and pastries are really good! Among my favorites are the strawberry cheesecake and the mixed-fruit pie.

Jimmy, one of the senior if not head waiters is a great guy. Also, be sure to mention to your server you want The Bullet discount - you'll get 10% off your bill.

As I do every year, I went out to California to pay my sister a visit.

Looking for a decent and inexpensive meal, my sister recommended the Magnolia Grille.

This place made me nostalgic of the meat-n-three diners in Nashville.
As soon as I opened the door, I saw a refrigerated display of pies and cakes. Needless to say, we agreed to split an appetizer and entree to leave some room for dessert.

I ordered the chicken, steak, and veggie nachos and my sister had a turkey, roast beef, ham, and avocado sandwich with a side salad.

The nachos were very good. Unlike your typical restaurant loaded nachos which consist of a large pile of nachos drenched in meaty and cheesy mess, Magnolia Grille's nachos were presented neatly on the plate. There were 12 nachos: 4 with steak, beans and cheese, 4 with chicken, beans and cheese, and 4 consisting of refried beans and cheese. The result was that each nacho was clean and essentially the "perfect" bite.

The sandwich was good. There was nothing surprising about the ham, turkey, roast beef, and avocado.

The side salad was a throw away: lettuce, caesar dressing, and croutons. We've all had it.

Finally it was time for dessert. My sister ordered the strawberry cheesecake. I ordered the pumpkin pie. About a minute later, the server told me they were out of the pumpkin pie, so i changed my order to the pecan pie. Again, she crushed my expectations, but informed me that a pecan pie will be ready in about 15 minutes. Since we didn't want to wait an additional 15 minutes, I settled for the carrot cake. It was disappointing. I actually didn't even like it, but I ate it because I had intentionally saved room for dessert.

All in all, this is a good spot. The food isn't the best, but it's everything you would expect from a small local diner that has been around forever.

I would go back, however, next time I'll have to try a different dessert.

So I went here with a couple friends to get salads and clam chowder. They said the clam chowder was ~~~so~~~ good. Um..no. Just no.

So...positives here. The salad. It was good. Not spectacular, but decent...I mean its lettuce and croutons and ranch dressing. It was fine.

Then the clam chowder came. I started eating it. It was meh..and then I found a clump of nasty rotten clam - with I joke not, grimy bits of sand on it. I don't know for sure if it was sand, but it was...unchewable and grainy. I wanted to barf. I couldn't eat anymore. The meal came to a little over 10 bucks with tip (I left 2 dollars because the waitress was nice, and it's not her fault there were alien chunks of nasty grimy clam in my chowder).

10 dollars, spent by a person as broke as myself, on that? No. never again.

The dishes I have had are Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Parmesan, and the Mahi Mahi Fish I think I have had other dinners here but I usually get the same thing and it is very good. The Chicken Tortilla Soup is great. They always have some cute girls that work here too and are friendly and accommodating.

The Magnolia Grille is pretty close to being a five star rated diner in this writer's (generally) humble opinion.    Really the only two drawbacks are the parking situation, and their seating arrangements when they get busy.  The parking lot is usually full, which shows that they do good business. So you may need to stake out a space on the street which can also tend to be crowded.  Perhaps this is the Kosmos[sic] telling me I should walk there.  And the seating is only a drawback when they are full inside.  They have tables lined up in the in the restaurant so you may have to sit right next to other patrons while they enjoy their meals.  So no real private conversations to be had on those days.

On to the reasons you should go there.

First and most importantly, the food.  Now I have really only been there around breakfast time, but everything I've ever gotten there has been delicious.  The best way I can describe the food  is that it tastes like you would hope it would.  Allow me to clarify.  You know the tense moment of reading through a place's menu, and the weight of how your decision will affect the rest of your morning.  And when you finally do decide, you have a idea in your stomach's memory of how you hope your meal will taste.  Magnolia Grille has consistently met my optimistic expectations with what they bring to my table.

The service is dependable and always friendly, and as icing on the cake, they offer a complimentary mimosa on the weekends.  Pretty great, huh?

As far as diners go, they're one of the best in town.

I stumbled upon Magnolia Grille quite randomly, thanks to Yelp and my tiring of all my other regular spots in the area.  It's located in this very modest shopping area, so there's a parking lot right in front. There's also street parking in the surrounding areas.

The menu is very diner-like, with 24 breakfast food and some other American classics. They also have daily specials and desserts. I hear they have delicious zucchini bread, but honestly it's hard to notice it when I see yummy cheesecake too!

The staff is always super nice and professional. Totally one of my favorite NoHo spots when I want a quick bite to eat.

The only thing about this place that excited me was the one free mimosa and the sampler bread platter the server gave us to try since we had never been to the M.G. before.

I was kinda disappointed after reading some of these hyped up reviews. I'd go again if it were a majority rules type of situation. But wouldn't go out of my way if I could help it.

I was in NOHO and craving a belgian waffle, so I yelped the area and found Magnolia Grille.  It was what I expected, a small, clean diner with decent prices and good food. The waitresses were nice and on top of things.  I ordered the belgian waffle special for $7.75 which includes the waffle and 4 bacon strips or sausage links, but I chose to do two and two. It definitely hit the spot and didn't leave me feeling disappointed or robbed which I like, so I'll be back whenever I'm craving a hot breakfast in NOHO again.

I'm absolutely a fan of this place. It sort of reminds me of a diner, even though it's a "grille". Also, who decides when the word "grill" gets an "e" on the end?

They know what they're doing with the Reuben, that most noble of sandwiches. And while the garlic fries won't necessarily convince others that they should kiss you, they sure are tasty.

Another restaurant that promoted itself via "http://restaurant.com" but now will not accept the discount certificates that they sold on that site.

REALLY bad customer relations and even though I didn't buy a certificate, seeing them refuse other customers really turned me off.

FULFILL your obligations, it was YOUR fault that you sold certificates that you do not want to accept, it was not the customer's fault for buying them.

Why would any restaurant want to turn people away like that, it boggles the mind.  Not a lot of brains behind the operation, obviously, so I won't be eating there. ( The health department ratings have not been the  greatest here either, they had a pretty low B rating in 2010. To me that goes with the territory when you have poor management)

I LOVE this place! Perfect for breakfast or brunch on a lazy Sunday.
The service is great. The food is great. The prices are great.

Sitting outside on the patio is always nice on a sunny day but, I have to admit, the overall decor of the restaurant is a bit dated. That is truly the only reason to not give them 5 stars. It's very unpretentious though &, now that I think about it, that may be part of The Magnolia Grille's charm.

    Some items I have sampled:

BBQ Chicken Salad with Ranch Dressing - I can not put into words how amazing the flavors are! It is SERIOUSLY the bomb (& I don't think I've ever said that about salad before).

Zucchini Bread - Awesome! Order a loaf to take home!
(they have a good assortment of other freshly baked goods which I'm sure taste great as well)

Breakfast Burrito - One of my faves (it's HUGE). I order an extra side of avocado though cause it doesn't come with very much.

"Feel Good" Omelet - Very delicious & healthy.

Eggs Benedict - The hollandaise sauce is zesty & quite good.

Burgers - Big, delicious & juicy.

The occasional complimentary Mimosa - Who could complain about that??!?!

I have never had a bad experience here. If they were to update the interior space I would have no problem giving 5 stars.

The diner was as any diner would be expected, pretty good and quiet booths. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla, with eggs, bacon, and guacamole, but didn't seem to enjoy it as much as I thought I would. My dad scarfed his cheeseburger, my mom definitely loved her club sandwich. And they both eyed the pies as well, but decided against it later. Will probably go back again to try a different dish--the salads looked fresh and huge as well.

I went here because it had 4 stars when I was looking for Philly cheesesteak via Yelp. Ordered it, and was disappointed. First, it took 25 minutes to get me served. Next, the cheesesteak sandwich was not authentic; not the grilled, chopped, cheesy sandwich it is supposed to be. I think they just got some regular roast beef and heated it in the grill, then top with some cheese and some peppers, thinking it would be OK...NOOOO. So I just ate half and took the rest home, maybe when I am desperate I will eat it at 2 AM. Garlic fries though are very good...BUT...I am rating this for Philly cheeseteak, not garlic fries. My advice is NOT to go here for Philly cheesesteak, go elsewhere. Waitresses were friendly, but I overheard they rejected from http://restaurants.com coupons, but these customers were pushovers so they got away with it. Mediocre place, but OK in a pinch.

I dined with 2 others and they had eggs/bacon/hashbrowns/oj and Huevos Rancheros.  I had banana chocolate chip pancakes with crispy bacon. It was amazing! The coffee was a little week - but was refilled promptly. I like the fact that they have flavored creamers there for those who desire hazelnut or french vanilla in the morning.

Came here a few times before and service was great.. The waitress that served us this time must have been new.  The moment we sat down she asked if she could take our order..lol.  Miss I haven't even opened up the menu.  After I ordered some coffee, I asked for some milk and she never brought it to the table.  Then after as we were close to finishing up our meal, she asked if she can remove the plates but we were still working on, so I said not yet and she walked away.  Um..excuse me there were 3 other plates on the table that had no scraps and could have been removed..lol..It was a funny experience. I'm not upset, she was a sweet girl and must have not seen them:/
I'm just rating the waitress and not the restaurant, the place is nice and gets pretty busy on the weekends.
Plus I'm sure she was new so she gets a free pass this time:)
One free mimosa per customer on sat and sun.

We went here easter morning after Bel Air  First Pres at the Hollywood Bowl because the Smokehouse was a madhouse. We walked right in around 1:30 and had the zucchini bread, which was delicious. I had the grilled veggie tostada salad, which was a lot better than I expected--lots of perfectly grilled squash and mushrooms. My boyfriend had the corned beef hash, which was just right. This place has the greasy spoon thing down pat (it's in a strip mall on a very low-key stretch of Magnolia), but in this case, that's not a bad thing. I would recommend going here if you don't feel like braving the craziness that is Porto's, which is just down the street.

It's nice to know that there are still some family-run, family-friendly, budget-friendly restaurants in the Valley. Especially one that is located in an old 7-11!

Went on a Saturday morning for brunch. Ordered the chocolate chip banana pancakes with a side of fries (my kind of a meal!). Husband ordered a yummy sandwich with soup and a salad, and friend ordered a yummy looking salmon omelet. Needless to say, we cleaned off our plates fully. Oh, and I also had a delicious $3.99 mimosa == YUM! The three of us ate and were filled for a total of $36 with tip.

Menu is a decent size and has both healthy and vegetarian options, in addition to American and California favorites. Meals are fairly priced and portions are generous. A small parking lot in front is compensated by street side parking around the building. The interior is quaint and cute, with lots of painted stenciled vines around the border and local artists' work on display. Bathrooms are clean, and even smell good!

Go to The Magnolia Grill if: you like supporting local business; you want an all-American brunch or lunch; you have always wondered what a 7-11 would look like if it was made into a restaurant!

Don't go to the Magnolia Grill if: you don't have at least an hour to spare; you are on a tight budget; you have a big ole' SUV that you insist on parking in a compact spot in a small parking lot (I hate it when they do that!).

This place is great.  I love it.  Everyone I've taken there loves it.  Food is great and so are the waitresses.  If you go for breakfast ask for Robert's Potatoes.  They are amazing.

Magnolia Grille is the best little diner in the area.  I come here a few times a month for their amazing salads!  They have great variety and are just the right price.  I would recommend the Greek Salad or the Rancher's BBQ - my two personal favorites.  The best part about the salads is that they come with a choice of freshly baked bread.  The zucchini, pumpkin, or banana loaves are simply amazing!

Magnolia Grille is the right price, has a laid back atmosphere, and is the perfect place when you're craving a yummy salad!

I have been to Magnolia Grille a few times now after a friend recommended it.  It's the only restaurant around I know that not only offers curly fries, but GARLIC fries too!  I have had breakfast and lunch food there.  The desserts are awesome too.  I didn't know it was pet friendly on the patio until I read the reviews on yelp.  That's a big plus for me.

Everyone should give this place a try.  It's always good to support your local businesses, and this one is worth it!  The staff is always polite and goes out of their way to make you comfortable.

I went there with a friend once who was sick and the waitress suggested hot tea with lemon and honey and kept it coming, each time asking her if she was feeling ok.  It was really sweet.  See if your Denny's or Carrows waitress will give a rats ass about your cold, haha.

Give this place a try, you'll fall in love with it too!

Your Great All-American Small Town Diner in NoHo.  Consistently very good.  Great service.  Clean and Well-Lighted.  If you're in NoHo you've probably passed by this place many times and never noticed as it is generic and set back from the street behind the ample lot.  We've been there many times and always come back for more.  Great for a cup of coffee and slice of pie too.

I love this place. I usually go for breakfast and get the breakfast burrito yum. Plus if you sit outside you can bring your dog . That's always a treat and also try to get Jimmy as your server he is fast and never gets your order wrong and will tell you funny stories while he helps you..

I have not yet been to The Magnolia Grilled, but have only sampled the zucchini bread and mixed berry pie. Based solely on those two items, I am giving a hearty endorsement as they were pure delecta-bility. The pie crust is quite frankly the best I have ever tasted, and the zucchini bread was moist & perfectly sweet.

Unfortunately, I am not in the area much so I may have to rely on my coworker to bring in more treats (hint, hint).

Man.  I wanted to be the first to review Magnolia Grill.  It is my special little place in the hood.

I love it for the yummy breakfast, the excellent zucchini bread and, mostly, the quirky staff.

They are so friendly and accomodating and genuinely want to provide a good dining experience.  They just do funny little things that entertain me through my visit.

I highly recommend breakfast on the patio. They have excellent omelettes, a yogurt and granola option, fantastic breakfast burrito and a few other yummy mexican breakfast selections.  They keep the coffee flowing, too!  You can try dinner, but my dinner experiences there have been mediocre.

There are usually a few pups on the patio, as they are dog friendly as was pointed out.  The staff will give you a dog bowl for water if you request it.  There is also a fancy dog store and groomer next door, so it's fun to watch the dogs trot by.  Ruff!

I pick up a loaf of zucchini bread every once in a while for meetings.  It is always well received...moist, tasty.

My husband and I stopped here for Brunch today. I hadn't looked at any reviews before I went and in fact just drove by it and decided to stop.

Overall the experience was great. The place is small but has plenty of seating that's not too crowded along w/ seating outside. There were a lot of different types of  people here; old, young, hippie, suit, black, white, hispanic, gay, straight. Everyone fit great in this place. Additionally, the service was prompt and the waitress was very sweet.

My husband ordered the clam chowder soup w/ 1/2 a ham & cheese sandwich and a small salad with 1000 Island dressing. I had the patty melt w/ fries. I gotta say I LOVED my sandwich it was perfectly cooked w/ the bread grilled and not too soggy with butter. I asked for my fries to be extra crispy and they actually were!!  At other places I ask for extra crispy and both the server and the cook don't pay much attention so this was really big deal for me.

My husband is extremely hard to please but thoroughly enjoyed the soup and sandwich. He like the salad  but not as much b/c he wanted French dressing but they didn't have it. As a matter of fact most places in LA don't have French so it wasn't that surprising. Additionally they only had Pepsi products (hubby HATES Pepsi) so when they only had Sierra MIst and not even Mtn. Dew, he was annoyed.

Over all our experience was a good one so I would recommend it and we'll definitely go back.

BTW, you can't beat the prices, the entire meal for both of us was $21 w/o tip. Yay!!  (We tip well but it's subjective so I always give the price w/o tip.)

Went back 5/11 and loved it again. Had the Philly Cheesesteak, it great and the service was great too.
