Modern furniture, some clever, some impractical
Somehow more than other modern furniture, this place is more gay. I can't back that up. Most of my gay friends do shop here, but that's not it. I love their stuff, but I'm straight, so I don't know what it is. There's just some sort of gay decorator vibe.
I love everything they have. From doorbells to bathtubs to toothbrush holders, they have a lot of neat things. Lately I've seen a lot of kinetic? furniture. Tables and chairs that have a secret button that unlocks a hidden function. Some of the designs are just a little too Ikea looking. And I am almost totally done with stainless steel.
I have since found out that this company did, indeed, go out of business. In this economy, I urge you to beware especially, of home furnishings and accessories stores, a lot of them are suffering and struggling to make it.

I've visited the store a number of times and was usually impressed with the breadth and selection of items. I decided to go on line and order a gift for a friend...a vase. I placed the order and was told 6-8 weeks for delivery. Fine. My AMEX card was charged and I waited. And I waited. And I waited. I finally called the store and spoke with a gentleman who said he would look into it and get back to me. I waited. He never got back to me.
Several weeks later I called The Magazine again. Got the same fellow. He said he would get back to me. No...he promised he would get back to me. I waited and I waited. He never got back to me.
The event the gift was for came and went. I finally called the store again. "Oh...this item is backordered and we don't know when it will ship." I cancelled the order. I cancelled any chance I'll do business with them again. Good riddance.
Zero stars.

There is a very good time, to step into this store and thats during The Magazine's annual warehouse sale! So study up, make your list of wants/must haves and hopefully there will be something for you to indulge in.
