A place where the ladies look GOOD sippin on a 24 oz Dos Equis!!
A good friend and I were on the way home after leaving Pearl bar and we heard some "Notorious B.I.G." walking by The Lot. We were like oh hell yeah, we are hittin up this place!!
We walked in, hit up the bar, got some 24 oz dos equis, walked over to the dance floor, battled some random guys (one wearing an American flag wind jacket, we were calling him "America!" all night-- random) . yeup! It was nice to dance the night way! I'm so used to just chillin at a bar lately so it was so much fun dancing the night away!
Bartender service: fast! good thing when you are going for round 3 or 4
Crowd: Everyone was friendly and really funny that night
Bathrooms: clean!
Updating again because this place has found its niche. Great crowd, great vibe, smiling faces from the staff. I went next door to the surrounding bars seeing what was shakin', and when I got to The Lot, I found the party.
The TV's inside show an interesting mix of sports beyond MLB, NBA and NFL. Surfing, skating, random Redbull stunts...I love it all.
The interior is not your standard wood and earth tones. This place pops with vibrant colors that give it that "alive" feeling. Never left unhappy, and I never wanted to leave.

Still a fan, I find myself defaulting to this place more and more. Especially on quiet evenings or… Read more »
I came here on Sat night to watch the Texas and Texas Tech game. They have made vast improvements to the outside area. I had been to this place before to watch games, but it is almost impossible as the inside fills up quickly. They now have a huge projection screen outside, with a decent sound system to hear the game.
I dont understand why this place isn't packed on Saturday nights. They have some of the cheapest drink specials on Washington. $2 dollar Miller Lites until 10 is cheap! I believe that they also had some kind of shot for $3 bucks as well. The bartenders are quick, and the barbacks are speedy in cleaning up empty beer bottles.
The place is very laid back for people that doesn't want to fight the crowd at Pearl or some of the other establishments. I'll be coming here for more games for sure.
This nice little bar sits right beside pearl bar. Its a great starter place and they play some good old skool hip hop! But like i said its a starter place or just some place to chill if you don't want to dress up. It basically a sports bar cant say much else except the drinks were descent.
Ok this past saturday, I attempted to go to Manor but was denied so I ended up at Pearl bar. Pearl bar is never anything special but a place that everyone can get in. So while my group of friends were inside I figured I'd sneak over to the lot to check it out.
They also weren't d*cks about who they let in. It wasn't very crowded inside and resembled pearl bar a lot. It seemed like a cleaner more empty version. They even had the similiar taco guy in the corner. Since there wasn't a line at this taco guy I figured since I'm already away I might as well have myself a taco!
The taco was the same quality as the ones you find at pearl bar but without the wait. I will be sure to come back if nothing else for the tacos!!!
I can say I am a BIG fan of The Lot. You would think with another bar on Washington you might expect asshole door men, lines to get in, reserved tables, $400 bottle service...blah...blah, all very lame and stupid. I was happy to finally see just a bar with a friendly staff and decent drinks at reasonable prices.
This is probably your typical run of the mill 3 star kind of bar, there seems to be a lot of concrete and cinder block used to make this place. Unfortunately it gives the bar a generic look and feel to it.
The good:
It is a brand new bar so everything is clean, including the bathrooms.
The staff is friendly and prompt.
The patio is big and it smells great with the gas grill firing up some burgers and hot dogs.
The bad:
Concrete and cinder block makes for not much character. Generic
Valet, but I understand with Walters, Pearl, and Dubliner all competing for street parking
I have been here 4 times, and each time I have been approached by the owner of The Lot. He wanted to make sure everything was going well. I appreciate an owner/proprietor who makes himself accessible like he does. I will bump it to 4 stars for that reason.
Yep, what we got here is another run-of-the-mill sports bar complete with all the amenities needed to make me wanna return, namely, good selection of booze, patio area, outdoor grill, and er, toilets, yeah they're important.
Came here last Friday with a few fellow yelpers to watch The Rockets, whilst we won't discuss the score in that game The Lot certainly provided a decent enough spot to watch the game whilst also providing a nice atmosphere for me to attempt to drink my body weight in beer And I ain't light!
Not really a huge amount I can rave about for The Lot, it did not offend me how is that? Nah seriously, it has everything you need to watch "the game" whatever sport that may be, a nice open area inside complete with friendly and easy on the eye bar staff. Reasonably priced, actually I can't remember but all I know is my bill did not shock me! Parking is a bit of a nightmare but it's Washington on a Friday night so go figure, valet could take care of me but I slipped my man an extra ten to get parked directly out the front door, sweet.
Washington has plenty of decent places and I would quite happily return, it's convenient to where I live and I am intrigued to take down the grill that was going on Fri night, I read David mentioning something about Tacos? Hmm, not tried but certainly piqued my interest.
Decent enough place and will be added to my sports bar list.
Any place where I find myself with a cold beer in each hand on a consistent basis is okay dokey in my book. Service is quick and attentive and never missed a beat - even during what seemed to be a packed house for the Rockets game. As Tino mentions in his review, the owner was there asking how everyone was doing (given the buzz I had going, I wasn't going to say anything but good things) and took a seat next to our group at the bar and chatted with us for a bit.
And to top it off, every time I ordered a round, I kept having to ask twice how much the bill was - because I was thinking the bill CAN'T be that low. The patio seemed okay, but I'm not a fan of sitting out towards the streetside of Washington and looking at cars driving by/being parked. I look forward to going back sometime soon...
Ok...so Washington Ave. is ever changing, ever evolving. The Lot is another new addition. The irony of the place is that there isn't really a parking lot, maybe 6 spaces, so valet is required. I pulled up and didn't know what to do, when Jeff, the owner, valeted my car. He said it was a soft opening, that they are still working on the place.
The Lot is a pretty basic place, a small patio outside (yes, in the parking lot!) a pretty open indoor bar space with a roll-up garage door to make it indoor/outdoor, and a large patio on the side. I would call it a semi-cosmopolitan dive bar. It will be the place to be within a week or two and packed this summer.
The doormen and bartenders were great...the owner was nice enough to buy a couple of rounds for us. There were $2 tecantes, don't know if it was a Happy Hour special, or an ongoing thing.
The Lot is another welcomed addition to Washington Ave.
The Lot is a bar. To me, it felt like it has no character. I wanted to feel some kind of atmosphere/ambiance, but I couldn't. It's a bar.
I came here on a Tuesday night around 11:30 pm. The first thing you see about this place is the patio. It's concrete with tables and chairs. The tables and chairs are nothing fancy, but they aren't used and beat up. They do their job. You sit on the chair and put your drinks on the table.
Ever heard of the term brick and mortar? That's what I see. I see brick and mortar. I am not sure, but I think there is garage looking door (like for an ice house). That may be the highlight. I could have been mistaken, but I think that's what I saw. If it is, that would be the cool part. When the weather is nice and it gets crowded, you can open the door.
There must have been 11 people when I came this night, and that includes the two bartenders and the bar back. Noone really spoke to me. Maybe it's because I ran into some guys I know at the bar. I guess if I owned a new place and there was hardly anyone there, I would be more welcoming. Even the bartenders. Give me a bigger smile than what you are accustomed. Try to talk to me and get to know me.
Just because I wasn't drinking an alcoholic beverage, that doesn't mean I don't know anyone who does drink.
This is my first time here. Give me a reason to come back and bring back people.
Great place to hang out. We watched the UofH vs. Texas Tech game here and had a great time. Drinks are really well priced and the crowd was good. The TV screen they have on the patio is huge and in HD, really crisp image. The restrooms were clean and everyone was really nice. I cant say anything bad about this place. I will be back for sure.
The LOT still needs a LOT of work. (My failed attempt at humor)
This place is the conjoined twin of Pearl Bar; they are literally attached to the backyard shenanigans of Pearl. This place is fairly new and they are the newbie on "The Washhh...". The drinks are fairly priced ($5 for a jack n' diet). The place has a garage feel, since they have a garage type door that opens the patio to the inside area. They had someone whipping up some burgers and hot dogs for those late night hunger pains; I know some of you can attest to this! The music selection was pretty decent, except that one of the bar staff was trying to play "DJ" and kept changing the music in the middle of the song....ummm, annoying.
Overall, I would give The Lot another shot. It is not as crowded as Pearl and is a better alternative to the "dress to impress" lounges.
I have to agree - this bar needs a lot of work. First, on their website, they consider themselves a sports bar. If I was to grade this on that quality, a few TVs doesn't make you a sports bar.
Otherwise, it's a pretty decent place. Affordable drinks, decent crowd, good looking girls behind the bar, and okay music. I'd go back. It lacks anything that would make me fan at this point..but when Pearl Bar is 5 people back at the bar, you can jump over there for a quick drink for sure.
I've been to the Lot twice since it's opened- my bf and his friends like to go there to watch sports and because it's on Washington.
My first experience- both toilets in the ladies' bathroom were overflowing. YUCK. Every girl was walking on their tip toes to get through the lake of water, ugh disgusting! I am not a fan of places that have the same number of stalls for girls and guys bathrooms- hello girls need more. The Lot also has no parking at all, save for valet, so I had to park down the street at some pay lot and hoof it over. Needless to say, I made the bf pay.
My second experience- much better. I came to watch the Rocket's battle LA last Friday, arriving around 9 pm. All the tables were taken, but there was more than enough standing room. The bar was crowded so getting a drink took more than a few minutes. Word to the wise (and those who drink beer or Jager)- there's a cash mini-bar on the patio that has no line, almost all the beers as at the main bar, and had a bottle of Jager and vodka for those who shot. Ever. The only bad thing was that bar didn't have my standard cerveza, Dos X. Oh well, I'd rather have a substitute beer than wait at the main bar.
The patio also had some kind of food on the grill, I couldn't tell if it was BBQ or Mexican. I wasn't hungry so I didn't try it. The door guys were nice, letting me walk in and out as I tried to flag my girlfriend down to park, err I mean valet. They said that someone comes around with pizza on the late night to sell to the customers, thankfully I left before I could devour any.
The Lot reminds me every so slightly of Posse East in Austin, simply b/c of the garage doors on the side that open up to the patio. Hope it doesn't get overrun like all the other places on Washington!
I can't believe how chill this place is!!! I felt like I was at home, staff was really nice. I will go back!
