Love this place. Ambiance is amazing, food is delicious and the drinks were pretty good too.
The bar area has romantic soft music, looks like a lovely log cabin with a beautiful and a large fire place. We got prime seating in the bar area, right in front of the fire place. They had a pot of soup hanging off the fire place, tonight's soup was stuffed-pepper and it was really delicious - the payment for soup goes to charity, and is $1... WOW! They also had cheese and crackers out.
Go there, have a romantic and relaxing evening, you'll be happy you did. -

I was part of a group of 7 driving home to the City from a weekend home upstate when we stopped in at the outlet mall in Lake George. After some credit-card-melting time spent in the shops, we were all hungry and, upon a Ralph Lauren cashier's recommendation, ventured over to Log Jam.
I couldn't stop snickering about the name. If they ever go out of business, they'd make a killing as a porn studio. "Log Jam Productions." But I digress...
The atmosphere is lovely, though it was freezing cold. We all had to keep our winter coats on through the meal. The waitress was friendly, but not terribly attentive. I had to ask twice for my Diet Coke. The food was quite good and filling, so I can't complain about that. I felt that the prices were a bit steep, considering how far out in the country we were, but I guess when you're located in an outlet mall, you can charge a bit more and still expect to draw a crowd.
It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't terrible either. I wouldn't mind returning, should the opportunity ever arise. I just hope they have the heat on next time. -

We went at 5pm, just as the restaurant was opening for dinner, and it was filling up fast. The atmosphere is very cozy (think log cabin). The salad bar was very good, lots of variety of vegetables and variety of salads - you must try the fresh raisin bread (runs out quickly) and the toasted sunflower seeds (at the end of the salad bar). The entrees, however, were disappointing - both the fish and the steak were sub par.

On my second visit, I was convinced they have a superbly (and consistently) good salad bar here! The food is pretty good. They offer smaller portions for some entrees which is nice (especially for a place that fills you with salad bar to start!). It's got a great atmosphere and is a fun place for groups. I highly recommend it for post-shopping, post-theme park eats.

Passed through here on a road trip, my only real complaint was I wish it wasn't so far away! Everyone was extremely friendly! The atmosphere is very welcoming and the prices are very fair. My boyfriend and I split the french onion soup, and it was one of the best bowls of soup I've ever had! (& I'm a big fan of soup) The cheese melted over the top of the crock, is the perfect touch! Really, whats onion soup without it? The 2 guys I was with both had the ribs, and thoroughly enjoyed them. I had a bacon cheese burger, and the flavor was great. I believe Ilene menu said it was serloin, and the better cut of meat definitely makes a world of difference in a burger! On top of that, the salad bar is awesome, everything you can imagine to put on your salad!
When we left, as we were walking over to the stores we heard someone yelling. Turns out it was our server! We forgot our leftovers and she fallowed us out to make sure we got them! You can't find that very many places. -

WOW. Talk about a family favorite. Every trip up to LG includes a trip to Logjam.
Salad Bar- Phenomenal (tuna salad, pasta salad, potato salad, fruit, etc)
Bar- Top of the line (fireplace with chili, log cabin feel)
Food- Splendid (seafood was fresh but gave me the squirts. Steaks (thumbs up)
Environment- Woodsy, outdoorsy, Log Cabin.
LBD Scale: Words can't describe this place and what it did to my pallette. I can't wait to go back up there again. 9.5!!Listed in: LBD Places

Very good and cozy place. Fireplace. Excellent salad bar with any entree/sandwich order. Reasonable price. $12 for baby back rib for lunch-very tender. Also had catch of the day Mahi Mahi -a bit flavorless. Close to outlet shops.

This place was pretty solid. I got exactly what I expected from looking at the place. Nothing fancy, but tasty, filling food. And a lot of it! The decor is.... well.... Log cabin and it is consistent throughout the building. The outside is attractive and the inside is warm and inviting. Makes you forget you're in a strip mall.
I started with a French onion soup. Tasty beef broth topped with provolone cheese, for my meal I ordered the prosciutto pannini. The sandwich was quite good. Prosciutto, tomatoes, red onion, mozz, and pesto sandwiched in between crispy thick cut bread. My only complaint was that it was a bit too salty. I know, it's prosciutto and pesto. Two inherently salty products. But I love salt and for me to think it was overly salty, it prob was. My sister had the rueben pannini and said it was great. Both sandwiches came with home made potato chips, and access to the salad bar which had a great selection of fresh vegetables and topping. All in all I would definitely consider going back here. Especially considering my experiences at other area restaurants. The staff was friendly and attentive as well. -

A MUST GO when I'm in Lake George!
Fantastic food, service and ambiance. Their Salad bar is delicious, the pasta salad is to die for. I always say I'll order the mouthwatering lobster, but I always try something new on the menu and it never disappoints. Recently, I had the triple deal which is lobster, scallops and shrimp in a light white sauce with pasta... DELICIOUS!!!! The deserts are phenomenal like the CHOCOLATE LOG which will have you addicted for days to come... and it's near the outlets mall... Perfection! -

I enjoy dining here for lunch or dinner. The interior of the restaurant is similar to dining inside an old log cabin in the Adirondacks. The lighting is very dim. The Log Jam has good steaks, chicken, prime rib, chops & seafood and a great salad bar.
For dinner, I enjoy the Maple Dijon Salmon (baked with an apple pecan crust) with baked potato and all dinners include the Salad Bar. The Salad Bar has fresh greens and a great variety of salad condiments, dressings, homemade salads, fruit, and bread from Bountiful Bread (the cinnamon raisin bread is my favorite).
For dessert, Ben & Jerry's ice cream is offered, but I usually have had enough to eat. The service has been friendly on each of my visits. -

I really enjoyed this place even though I wasn't feeling too well on my visit.
I ordered The Travers which was a chicken breast smothered in tomato basil and mozzarella cheese. Each meal comes with a salad and a decent number of choices for a side. I chose the french fries, but was offered other forms of potato as well as rice.
Salad bar was very good. Many options to chose from and lots of toppings. Pasta salads were also available as well as freshly sliced bread.
The scenery around this place was very pleasant . Be prepared to spend a lot of money if you visit here. Dinners are expensive, but they give you the option of a lite portion on some meals. Which is cheaper and more than enough food for myself.
I highly recommend a reservation. It'll get you right in. I only wish I was hungrier when we payed our visit. -

We made reservations based on the previous reviews. We were seated right away. They took our our order then we waited 30 minutes before we saw anyone again. When my steak finally arrived it was cold. Manager apologized saying they were slammed. (but not too slammed to take our order and let us hang)

So I have a story...
We came here for dinner the first night we arrived at our hotel. It was right across the street and I had been here years ago but didn't remember much about it. We walked over while shopping at the outlets and made a reservation for 8pm.
We arrived a few minutes early and went into the bar where there was free cheese and crackers = one star!
We sat down and ordered, since we had a big lunch we were gonna share a meal. Prime rib was selected, fine with me. On to the salad bar...really good! Good bread, decent lettuce, lots of over mayo'ed salads...
The dinner came out, nicely split on 2 plates - the meat was good. I don't love prime rib I don't think but it was decent, edible. As a side we chose the cream cheese and carmelized onion mashed potatoes because we are fat kids. I was excited. I have a few bites, they are allright. Then I take another forkful and there is something weird....something hard....I spit it out and lo and behold it's a little rock! Hurray a rock in my dinner!
I tried not to make a huge deal and I told the waiter about it and what I thought it was, he launches into this story about how the cooks play hacky sack in the back, it got in someone's pocket, he's mixing the mashed potatoes, rock falls in, goes on my plate, into my mouth...etc.etc.etc...
Err, ok. So I figure I'll get a free meal? A few dollars off? Wrong. Instead I got an enormous toll house cookie pie dessert! Yahoo! It was really good but not as good as a free dinner for having a rock in the potatoes would have been. My parents met up with us at this point and helped us finish the montrosity of ice cream, cookies, etc....
Without the rock it would have gotten more stars...but I don't think that's a regular occurence so try it out! -

Out-of-towners here, very pleased to find this place! Great salad bar, new england clam chowder, etc. We had lunch for 6 and before tip our bill was about $60.
One kid had the ribs, one tuna croissant, one turkey club, one chik quesadilla. The grown-ups had salad bar -n- soup. All very good.
Friendly service, a real treat. Highly recommended. -

Downhome food.
The fare here is quite homey. They do a really good French dip sandwich (also comes with horseradish sauce) and their BBQ ribs are also pretty fantastic. Food perhaps can be a little hit-or-miss - we the plain roast beef sandwich was rather dry and the steak fries that came with the French dip sandwich was overly fried and hard.
Many of the dishes come with the self-service salad bar where there's a good assortment of veggies, cold salads etc to munch on. The cold peas and pasta/tuna salad were great. There's also a bread station that serves this really tasty and chewy raisin bread.
Service is really quick and very friendly.
I'd definitely recommend this place if you are looking for some place filling, casual, comfortable and tasty. It's great for crowds and families. -

Adirondack-themed steakhouse with good food and service. Fans of red meat, especially Prime Rib, will be happy. The place is busy and popular, so be sure to reserve.
Besides, don't you just love the look on someone's face when you say: "I'm taking you to THE LOGJAM!" -

Salad bar was small, but fresh. Great service. Steak was cooked PERFECTLY! It was pretty busy and our waiter forgot to bring a refill on one of our drinks. He made it up with a free dessert!

Had an excellent meal on the way back from the New Jersey shore home to Vermont. Very kid friendly, reviews about the salad bar were correct (good), although no one mentioned the home-made raisin bread dipped in sugary awesometown! I'm also glad i read the review about calling ahead for reservations (only a 30 minute eait on this wednesday night though). The wait staff from the hostess to the waitress and buss boys were all extremely friendly. My steak au poivre was zesty and delicious although there might have been a little too much mushroom sauce glazing over it taking away from the peppery goodness that I seek in this specific dish (Maybe more of a personal purest taste though). My wife's stuffed shrimp was entrée also tasty. Thanks for saving the day and the tail end of a 8 hour drive with a hungry wife and screaming baby--we'll be back next time to break up the drive, refresh and refuel.

Was out in the area for business, and decided to stay in Lake George. I was given Log Jam as a suggestion from the hotel, after asking for a good local spot. They spoke highly of their salmon, so decided to give it a try.
The location is next to the outlets, and I mistakenly drove past it! I am glad I turned around and went looking for it. I ate at the bar, so that I could have some good conversations and learn more about what is here. A major plus was that the bar was filled with locals who were having dinner there, a major plus in my book!
The bar had a station where one could serve themselves some crackers, and cheese. Was pretty good, and I was glad to have something to nibble on while having a drink.
Dinner comes with a trip to the salad bar which was decent. Cold plates in a self serve cooler, bread bar with whipped butter. Enough items to fulfill your salad needs. There were also a lot of pasta/potato type salads, which I did not try.
I did get the salmon, which had a pecan crust and was good. I should mention that they had two portions, regular and lighter fare. I went with the lighter fare after learning that it was about 6 ounces. That was $17. I would not say it is the best I have had but was certainly better than many places I have been to. It was served with a baked potato.
All in all I would go here again, over any chain restaurant. -

Decent food, but service lacking. Ribs and filet were tasty, but, maple salmon was too sweet and swordfish special was mediocre. Salad bar was beamed in by Scotty from the year 1976. Our waitress dropped the ball with our table, choosing to focus on a larger party next to us. We ordered wine that didn't come until after we were just about done with the meal. But, they did make amends by comping the second round of drinks. So, food is ok, but service was lacking.

Wonderful food. Well worth the price and wait. Many of the restaurants decorate their premises to accommodate the natural surroundings. The Log Jam is one of them. I felt like I was in colonial times.

Review from Jess K.
This place is right near the outlets and has such a quaint feel inside. It is actually pretty large too but it doesn't have that feel. The salad bar is included with everything and the sandwiches are mostly under $10 so it's a great deal. The reason for the three stars instead of more is that I ordered the Adirondack burger and it was just gross. The meat was low quality and just everything about it was blech. Good thing I enjoyed the salad bar beforehand so I wasn't annoyed with leaving hungry. My mom ate the odd "french fries" it came with which were huge slices of potato that I guess you were supposed to cut up to eat. Overall the food is a bit disappointing since my mom didn't seem enamored either.

I think this might be a better place to have steak. Alas, my husband ordered the duck (dry and with a very sweet, wierd sauce) and I had the salmon (way too complicated for my taste.... encrusted with tons of stuff instead of just being simple).
The other reviewers are correct... the salad bar is good. My husband really liked the huge selection of bread they have on it. Service was on the slow side but adequate.
Seemed to be a very mediocre meal for the money it cost. -

this was a great restaurant with great service a fantastic salad bar and amazing dessert! the only gripe that I have is that my boyfriends steak was undercooked. that is the only reason for 4 stars. best meals so far in lake george! 1 more thing...the atmosphere is incredible!

I love this place! My family has been visiting Lake George just about every summer since I was a kid. We never miss the Log Jam! They have an awesome menu, and an amazing salad bar. You can go for the prime rib, or choose some of the more economical choices, either way you can't go wrong. Very family friendly.
