I LOVE the Lofty Dog! We recently started taking our 6-month old french bulldog to doggy day care a couple times a week. We visited a couple other doggie day care spots downtown and this by far is the cleanest and offers the best service. The owner, Cabrina, has a true love for the dogs and is very helpful and helps you feel at ease in leaving your "kid." Fridays are fun as they serve champagne in the "living room" where you can chill with your dog and other dog owners. Its $26 per day for daycare, which is a bit steep, but my little pup absolutely loves it there. In fact, she often doesn't want to come home!!
The Lofty Dog is moving locations from its current spot across from the Barker Block to a new spot a couple blocks away. I think this happens in December. If you need doggie day care, the Lofty Dog is the place to go! It is awesome and we love it.
The owner's review of her own store has been removed. Below is an email I got from her yesterday about my review, take what you want from it. I find it ironic that she sent a harassing and insulting email telling me she doesn't write harassing and insulting emails.

16 hours ago This sounds far more personal than it should be. Arrogant...or you feel women shouldn't be confident??? That's really scary to think someone out there has such harsh feelings, and I don't even know you. Wow...not true...harassing emails and insulting emails???? If you truly had veterinary experience, you would have known the food product that was on my shelves yourself.. you can read ingredients I do suppose canidae, natural balance, wellness, (those natural foods unlike pedigree etc...or you only know science diet given your supposed veterinary experience. That's a large freebe to most vets. I look forward to hearing about your next business venture...that is if you have the fortitude or the money to do so. Perhaps you should be minding your own "Business". You do have one don't you?... What goes around definitely comes around in the most beautiful way. May negativity always guide and direct you. I'm having a truly wonderful day.

A pet store in Downtown L.A.! Finally! I'm so tired of having to schlep all over town in search of specific items.
They carry Felidae, Wellness, and Natural Balance, just to name a few, but all brands you wont be finding in a supermarket. To my disappointment, they weren't carrying any Nutro brand items because of the recall (dry food included), but they gave me a ton of sample packets to try out.
I had the good fortune of walking in during puppy playtime, too bad I couldn't stay!
Very helpful, down-to-earth staff.
The store is adorable and the staff is so amazingly friendly. I love that downtown is finally getting more "lifestyle" stores, especially in this particular area. I swear everyone in downtown walks their dogs around Main and 2nd.
They also offer pick up / drop off services for grooming and food - perfect if you live around the area, or bring your dog to work like I do.
I'm upgrading my old review (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) to the full 5 stars, as I did find enough little pink dog dresses to satisfy my cute craving at this location.
