5 reviews for The Living Room
Guys..if you're looking for a romantic-dimly lit bar that plays good tunes(Marvin Gaye in the background) to take your lady friend to then the Living Room is your place. Too bad the night I went I met my brosif(Btron) there and I still didn't score(I kid).
Cheers
side note-this review was actually written as I sat at the bar.
Super surprised that there are only 3 reviews for this spot. This is one busy happening place!!
Living room's vibe is just that. Being in your own living room, but with ambiance of dark lighting and lots of Erika Badu, Marvin Gaye souful 70's music that makes for ending the evening very chill.
We sat in a nook by the window which made itself great for people watching during the night - makes you love Capitol Hill's uniqueness even more.
They do have some good wines; especially if you hit up the happy hour and its $3.00 a glass. Had plenty of bartenders/waiters on site so you didn't have to fight your way to get a drink. Plus plus for that!
Nice nightspot Capitol Hill!
Ok, so I went, and it was really unique, relaxing and wonderful. The seating is comfortable - a good place to really relax and unwind. You can even put your feet up, just like @ your home.
I went last week - specifically to see if the art and the cocktail list really lived up to my expectations for the place (see my original review). And they do! Finally, a cocktail bar that not only has good wines, they have excellent wines and unique fabulous cocktails. Also, the ambiance really does foster conversation. Next time, I am bringing my sister here to see how she'd feel about having one of her wedding related parties here. It is very low key and laid back.

Great staff, great beers and wines, great cocktails (ok, at least great based on the one I sampled), great space and cool decor. Love the fake fireplace upstairs. It's a nice addition to Capitol Hill.
The Living Room is easily one of the best new bars to hit Capitol Hill in recent history. It's a small-ish space with comfortable, loungey seating, killer bartenders, and nice soft lighting--sort of like the Hideout, but with a bit more polish.
The downstairs area contains a couple of couches and a few small tables--a somewhat tight space, but it feels less cramped than other bars its size. The upstairs area contains more comfy seating, and is probably the better space for larger groups.
This is easily one of the best bars in the area, and I'm thrilled to have this new addition to my neighborhood.
