The W comes to Boston

The W stands for the Westin hotel and is the upscale arm of this group.  Small rooms, trendy bars playing non specific club type of music catering to an upscale yet somewhat glib crowd

I actually like the New York Ws, both the Midtown and Times Square version.  To a certain degree, The W in Boston delivers on its promise.  The place is nice, but too small to be on par with its New York brethern

Other issues like slow service and incomplete menu will be solved with experience

I came here last night to get drinks with a friend.  The scene was comprised of older gentlemen in business suits and women in their late 20s/30s looking like they want to pick up/get picked up men in business suits.

The service here is slllowwww.  It takes a very long time for them to get you a drink and one lady bartender was downright rude.  The others were nicer but it was difficult to get served.  The bar was quite crowded but they did have some comfy couch seating for more intimate conversation within the buzz.  It had a nice, upscale look to the place.  One man told us that he had eaten there and the food was actually quite good.

The drinks were on the pricier side but I did enjoy my raspberry lychee bellini and the mojitos were decent.

One word of advice: DO NOT VALET.  Go find a parking garage or something for the love of God!  We paid $32 without tip each because apparently they charge by the hour.  After looking at the attendant incredulously and asking if he was serious, he stared back with a blank face.  At least he opened the doors for us when we walked out.

Kinda cool setting but very cramped.  Chainmail screen curtains and fireplace nice touches.  Crowd a little on the trying to be uber fashionable and accomplishing pretentious side.
Staff friendly and unobtrusive.
Drinks - expensive and weak!!!
All in all, completely skippable.  Definitely did not live up to the hype.

Absolutely beautiful space calm waterfalls and cozy fire pit! Great place to mingle with a drink or grab a bite. Cool hues of blue and gray. The staff is super friendly and accommadating. Can't wait to stay in there.
