Oriental salad is the best
This is the new location, the original is in Novi, on Grand River, and just like the original, this is one of the better local sports bar in the area.
Quality value on the food. Large menu, and good specials. They have a number of salads, daily specials, and their pizza is pretty good too. Sunday pizzas are half off.
There is always a good selection of beers, on draft and in bottle.
At least 40 televisions, with every game on at least half of dozen of them. -

Went here with friends after seeing a movie. We just wanted a place to sit, chat and eat some good food. First off, the bouncer was nice, but there was a DJ.
The DJ played decent music, but he was annoying as hell. He must've thought he was God's gift to the world with how often he'd interrupt a song or singer just to go, "yeah, yeah. Uh huh." For one song he had a young woman singing over the lyrics. She was ok, but he'd over-ride her mic just to do his douchebag grunting. Annoying.
I got nachos. Thought it'd be a easy, yummy thing to make at 11 at night. They came back dry and tasteless. The cheese was dried into a rock which you had to tear the chips off because they formed a giant brick. The toppings were bland and was overall just un impressive.
At the end, the waitress took our debit card to pay and she disappeared for 15 minutes. We spied her talking with some guys at a table for most of the time while she had the bill, ready to be signed, in her pocket. I guess she was too busy flirting.
My friends insist the food is better. I'd just rather avoid it altogether. -

Hubby and I have been here a few times recently. Their food really is better than regular bar fare. Way better.
They have added a notable new item to their menu: sweet potato tater tots. Can you say yum?! A generous portion is served with a side of honey cinnamon sauce. The combination tastes uncannily like a Burger King french toast stick dipped in syrup. Only this is better!Listed in: Good Bars around Novi

This place always strikes me as only OK when it's suggested, but I've always had fun here. I think… Read more »

Oh Library Pub, you never let down a girl.
The food is okay... they are supposedly known for their pizza, but beware Dr. Atkins... the dough is exceptionally carby/puffy/delicious. This is definitely a place to go if you don't know where else to go, which is easy around these here parts.
To me it's just a comforting place... the wood panelling makes it cozy, and the booths are really high. It kind of reminds me of the bar from Cheers, minus Ted Danson.
The grilled cheese is also amazing, their drinks are reasonably priced, and they are not stingy on the alcohol... I was hooked on their amaretto sours in my freshly 21 phase, which had way too much amaretto, and way too much sour for a newly minted bar goer, so they left a nice heart-shaped imprint on my liver. Will always be a devoutee of LP when I just want to go where everybody knows my name. -

My friends and I frequent the library pub often. It is a great place to go for a quick drink after work or to go out with a bunch of friends for an evening.
Wednesday night, they recently started doing beer pong at 10pm. So much fun! Great way to meet people and have fun playing some bp! Every team gets to play at least 3 rounds. The better you play the better your chances are to play more in the finals! Make sure you get there at least by 9:30 so you can sign up to play!
Another great fun night at the pub would be Thursday nights. The Killer Flamingos play some sick sets! I've never been disappointed with any of there covers. Great time to get up and dance your little heart out or sit and enjoy the band from the sidelines.
I highly recommend this bar. Beer, good. Music, good. Service, good. Food, good! Highly recommend spinach artichoke dip!! Yummm

Went there last night. Was kind of busy cause the tigers game was on but didn't take too long to get a table. Food was surprisingly pretty good. I recommend the chicken fajitas. They were better than the ones I had a local mexican restaurant recently. Definitely would go back for some food and drinks.

We have been fans of Library Pub since they opened on Grand River on Novi. We were thrilled several years ago when they opened on Haggerty closer to our home. We go about 3-4 times a month - not for the bar, as we don't drink. The food is very good. I have rarely found anything on their menu that is bad. When we want a good hamburger, we go on the weekends for their 2 for 1 deal. The salads are large and fresh and always a good choice. The kids (and us) love the pizza. We've had fajitas (not bad), sandwiches, chicken, steaks, etc. The only things we haven't liked are the rice pilaf, the greek salad, and the fish is only ok.
Our only complaint would be the service. Until the last year or so, we rarely saw the same wait staff twice. High turnover seemed a little strange to me. The Haggerty location is slower than the Novi location, but they have greatly improved their service over the last year.
In this day and age of chains, we love the locally owned restaurant and their creative ways to keep people coming back. Trivia, bands, other things (even though we rarely go to these things, its nice to know we can). Weekends in the fall, we know we can catch whichever football game we follow, hang out and cheer with the crowd. We frequently bump into neighbors, friends and family there. In general a very good place. -

We had been here several times when it first opened but hadn't been in quite some time. I'm happy to report it is just as good as it always was!
We took my Mom and her husband here for dinner on Friday night a couple of weeks ago. We didn't get there until about 6:00 P.M. but were still able to get seats right away. The place quickly filled up after that. 30 minutes later and we would have been waiting.
Service was excellent! Drink orders were taken promptly and just enough time elapsed after the drinks arrived that our server was back to take our dinner order.
We each ordered a different entree and everybody was happy. Roger liked his steak. Mom raved about her french dip sandwich all weekend. I had the fish and chips. It was also great.
There was a lot of activity with all the big screen televisions but it wasn't so loud that we couldn't carry on a conversation at our table. I highly recommend this place for a drink and casual dining. -

Food is very good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Patio is not in a good location. Expect to wait in line on busy days as seating is not very large. Trivia on tuesdays. good draft selection.

I've always liked this location since it's opened. It never seems to be smokey and the food is more than passable. The Pizza is fab and there's tons of beers on tap (including Strongbow cider, which is why I constantly return).
As an extra bonus, they also have free wi-fi, so I often go there for a beer when I need to get a little work done. Even though the place is very 'commercial' and has no local character whatsoever, it more than does the job when you're looking for someplace clean with good food and drink.Listed in: Top Restaurants

Like previous reviewers, I'd say it's just an average bar, although their patio is quite nice during the summer. Happy Hour is not especially cheap, just average, but the pizza is fantastic.
I'd choose this location over the other any day because this one is much more spacious inside, as well as having the great outdoor seating. But otherwise they're the same. -

Have tried this restaurant bar a few times and l won't be going back. Food is average, and service is below average. Seems like this place is run by a bunch of 19 year olds. VERY LOUD hard to have a conversation.
Large menu but don't get fooled, you can do much better at home and the wait staff is horrible. plan on waiting a long time to get your food. Like I said, I have been here a few times, don't want to judge on first visit, but after 5-6 times and things haven't changed... I'm done! -

Nice enough place. Decent waitstaff most of the time. Salads are served in Punchbowls with 4oz cups of dressing, so stay away if you are on a diet.
Beer selection is ok, trending towards whatever "craft" beer Budweiser is pushing at the time (Shock top anyone? Nope I will have a Bells Oberon please). Lots of TV's playing sport if you are into that, if not stay away during any event or it will be packed. -

When I lived in MI we used to go here quite a bit. It's nicer than a lot of other bars in the area, they have great pizza (which they have specials on sunday and monday nights I think). The service has always been fine. No real drink specials....I feel bad for the other reviewer, I've never been there for a crazy college kid night....there isn't even a college around....But, in my opinion above average bar food and good beer selection. Plus if you order a pitcher you get to full glasses of beer with it.

I visited this place with my mom on a weekday night. It was fairly crowded, which I like to think is a good sign.
There were a ton of TV's around, I could see the bar being a good place to watch a game.
However, the food left a lot to be desired. The mashed potatoes were cold and tasted like a mix that was far too buttery. The chicken was just average. The chili, however, was delicious, which merits the extra star=]
The service wasn't too good, but of course, waitresses can be a hit or miss.
The setting of the tables was also odd, with booths positioned way too close together.
Overall, this is a good place for a game and a drink, but not a place to find a good meal. -

Nice sports bar and pub. Staff is friendly and works hard. The food is better than average but still bar food. It is very comfortable and a nice place for a regular. They have some great beers on tap - But the beers change. Alas, No longer do they have Strongbow .. It is in a strip mall but at the end. They have a nice little party room if you need one.

Cheap pitchers, great pizza (even better when it's on special!) The Sunday special used to be a $5 large after 5 pm, but when we just went it was $6, which is still totally worth it. You can also get a small for $4 or $5 in the afternoons. On Mondays, pizza is half off after 5. Get the flavored crust. We like parmesan, butter and garlic (the trifecta of deliciosity!)
It's my current favorite for a chill Friday night or an "I don't want to cook tonight" night.
Best turkey burgers ever, I'm sure they are a total fat bomb because they are so delicious!
Since school has been out, I've noticed a lot of families where the kids are running wild and the parents ignore it. This annoys me to no end, especially when it happens in the bar area. -

So i just got home from Library like 10 minutes ago. I'm drunk, no doubt. I was drinking hacker pschorr all night. DAMN! Anyways. Library is a cool place. There was drunk middle aged cougars shaking it all over the dance floor in front of the live band. It was great to laugh at. I hope next time I go its as funny as it was tonight. These guys were playing aerosmith and these old women were like.. "YEAH!! This is my jam!" Even though the song hasn't been cool since 1979.. anyways, it made for a really funny evening! older crowd, oh and they serve hennesy xo for $20 a shot.

This place should just be called "college sports bar and drunks"... I was not pleased by this place at all. Coming from DC i was expecting a nicer scene.. NOPE... a bunch of wild college kids throwing back beers.. Not the type of place I want to hang out. we walked in stayed for like 5 mins and then left we didnt even order a drink. No thanks Library Pub!

Village of Clarkston, MI
Where to begin...the food there is mediocre and the service is less than mediocre. I've been here before and it has always been so-so but this time was worse than the others, so I felt I needed to write about it. The waitress had a bad attitude towards us from the beginning. She acted like she was in a huge hurry and was taking our order on the run. I did tell her that we had a http://restaurant.com coupon and that may be the reason but she wasn't even friendly. When our bill came and I gave her the coupon, she brought it back and said that it was for the Novi location. I must have printed off the wrong one so I asked her if I could pull the right one up on my iphone and they could take the number off of it. She asked the manager and he said no. I asked to speak with him and explained to him that I had the other coupon and all he would need is the coupon number to call it in and then it would be deactivated, no one could use it again. He said that he had to have the printed sheet. I couldn't understand why he wouldn't use this one with the other number, since anyone can print a sheet but it's the the number on it that makes it unique. He was pretty rude about it and wouldn't budge. Normally, I wouldn't mind paying full price for food if it was worth it, but the steak bites were terrible and I asked for no sauce and no butter or oil on them. They were grilled in something oily with vegetables that were soaked in something greasy. Our salads were average, as were the potato skins. It was a pretty bad experience for a girls dinner out. Maybe we could overlook the bad food and the coupon if the manager was nicer and the service was better!

Novi, MI
nothing really noteworthy here. it was blah. just another neighborhood bar.
sister location to the one in Novi.
food was decent, drinks were priced about where you would expect (definitely not cheap - at any time of day).
3 stars seems fair here. -

i agree with Blair above, only reason I would go here rather than Novi is that I didn't walk out smelling like smoke as I do in Novi. The menu and pretty much every other offering is exactly the same. Much larger in here though, more natural light.

Great name for a bar (think "I am at the library"), drinks were mediocre, but cheap! Lots of tvs, usually a decent crowd
