Review from Marqus R.
An Argentinean restaurant with good salad bar including all kinds of various unique treats, all the meat you can eat and a complimentary bottle of wine plus dessert for around $26 is pretty difficult to beat.
When I was offered their complimentary bottle of their red house wine, I was also offered a Chilean wine upgrade for $2.00. I chose the upgrade and I'm glad I did. I never was very impressed with their house Argentinean wine and, to be frank about it, rather horrified by the quality of their house white. However, the upgrade was indeed very good and a total bargain at $2.00.
As for meats, it's a matter of meats galore. There are so many various meats from which to choose and the grill staff has always proved most accommodating in assisting me with my selections ranging from blood sausages, charred top sirloin, chicken, fried intestine & etc. all piping hot, fresh off of their immense grill.
While there I overheard a few comments from what were obviously disgruntled tourists. They didn't like the salad bar because they didn't know what some of the items were. Duh! It's an Argentina food, they're in an Argentinean restaurant so you would think they might have had the wit to ask, but they didn't. Too much Spanish spoken? Duh! They do speak Spanish in Argentina and South Florida is known to be rather Hispanic in its demographics and, though I have no way of proving it I do believe that Hispanic explorers arrived here before the New Jersey tourists.
All in all, I think Knife offers a pretty good meal at a pretty good price. No, the meats don't compare in quality with the likes of Ruth Chris, Capital Grill or a Mortons, but Knife isn't trying to emulate the likes of those places. It's a budget buffet specializing in Argentine foods, primarily meats. -

Went there during December break - with a few friends for lunch
Overall - Food was amazing but service horrible
Went for the lunch special $16.95 w/ a glass of wine
Service - One of the most lacking experience we have encountered. We asked for refill of water too many times, took a while to pick our plates up after we ate.
The check took literally over 45 minutes
Food - great food for lunch... soo much meat.. too many choices. i ordered filet mignon, churrasco, chorizo, grilled melted cheese, NY strip, beef ribs, pork robs, and got a salad lol Eveyrhting went well with the chimichurri sauce
Overall - awesome food for lunch -

Didn't expect it to be a buffet but the food was good an the atmosphere was very welcoming. Everyone spoke Spanish and there was a soccer game on and Argentina won. Everyone was cheering. ESPN deport es was on all night. It was awesome. Dude said I get beer or wine with my meal and I picked wine. I didn't know I got a whole bottle. The buffet had salad and a bunch of other things I've never had before. And Omg the milk carmel crepe was re-dic. If you going for a top steak then don't but if your going for good food for a great price then you gotta come here.

One of the best deals in town for an all-you-can-eat Argentinian steak house: self service, made to order, includes a bottle of wine (for dinner only I believe), and you can't beat the price. Desserts are great!!!!! how can you turn down arequipe/dulce de leche? service is good.

Confession time.
I hate the fact that I like this place.
All my Argentinean friends hate it and refuse to go to it. They are all in agreement that the quality of meats they serve is an embarrassment to the parrilla tradition. So, they can all go jump in the lake for all I care.
You can have a full meal fit for a t-rex...a pickled t-rex (wine is included)...for less money than you would spend on a 12oz steak at a middle of the road steak house. So I definitely get why the place is patronized by large families.
Speaking of families, there always seem to be a lot of miss behaved kids in the restaurant (as well as many very well behaved ones...but who notices them?) so that can be a bit of a turn-off for some.
In all honesty, the meats are not of the best quality by American standards either, but they are good enough and certainly a good value.
The wine is of the cheap variety, but the red is nice and dry and compliments your cheap meat beautifully.
I keep my visits to The Knife few and far between, which I'm sure is part of the reason I still like this place. -

I would describe my most recent visit to The Knife as an ORGY OF MEAT.
If you don't like meat then please don't go to The Knife. I made the mistake of going with some friends who weren't big on meat...big mistake! You need to go with someone that appreciates a finely cooked piece of meat.
I went for lunch and I was presently surprised that it was much cheaper than dinner and they offered two dining options. For 16.95 you get the buffet(salad bar, all you can eat meat etc) with one drink and no dessert. For 20.95 you get the buffet, a bottle of wine and dessert. I went for the $20.95 option ;)
We grazed the salad bar and I ended up picking something akin to egg salad and a pasta salad. The pasta salad was probably the best I've ever had that wasn't home made.
For my entree I had the stuffed chicken, chicken kebab and a medium filet mignon cooked to order. I also had the Provencal fries...these are a must order item!! Everything was cooked to perfection and I was pleased. I've found that if you tip the grill master they'll give you a nice piece of meat.
However, I have a few issues with the place...the service is lacking and very slow. I've found it's best to order your sides before picking out your meats. If you wait you'll be done with your meats before the sides make it to you. Also, the desserts need to be seriously improved. They somehow manage to ruin a profiterole. Seriously, who ruins a profiterole???Listed in: I LOVE MEAT, International Concourse

I ate at The Knife about 3 years ago. I swore I would never go back. But back I went when I was invited to someone's birthday dinner. Honestly, the quality of the food is like all buffets and all-you-can eat restaurants - sub-par. And the salad bar has some of the most strange-looking stuff on it. The way it's arranged kind of reminds me of the church pot-luck because the bowls are all different looking. The first time we went to the Sunrise location and the service was good. This particular time, at the Aventura Knife, our waiter was horrible. It was the worst service ever! The waiter seemed angry and unfriendly. They do redeem themselves with one thing: wine. Each person received a bottle of wine. Gotta love that.

For what it is - Argentine rodizo done as an economical, all-inclusive package, The Knife does a darned fine job.
The prime rib was really as good as it gets. They're good about giving you your meat as rare or well done as you want, as long as you ask. Not much in the way of exotic game meats (like the more expensive churrascarias), but they do sweetbreads and crispy veal intestines. Tried both of those, and they were worth trying. The grilled corn on the cob was delicious, and so was the cold bar. Lots of different potato salads, an excellent cauliflower salad, some interestingly sauced slices of tongue.
They recommended the Provencal style fries (parsley and chopped raw garlic) which were kind of fun.
They were kid friendly (not sure about any kid menu, the lil'flirt is still too young to have his own order).
The desserts we chose (tiramisu and flan) were okay, nothing to go out of your way for - but at no extra charge, no complaints. -

Meat, Meat, Meat. Meat. Meat. Meat. You know where I'm going with this? I've been to The Knife at least a dozen times and this place is one of the best meal deals in South Florida, period! Where else can you get a lunch of all-you-can-eat meat - including pork, chicken, churassco, sausage, cooked bell peppers stuffed with cheese, onions cooked on the grill - a full-sized, well-stocked Argentina-style salad bar, a bottle of wine, coffee and dessert for 25 bucks! Are you serious!
The food, even with the dirt-cheap price, is top quality. Chow down on your meat, and when you're done, head back to the grill being manned by an army of cooks and get as many refills as you want. You also get sides that include mashed potatoes, plantains and rice for free.
And to sweeten the deal even more, American coffee and your choice of a variety of Latin-style desserts are included. And to wash everything down? A bottle of red or white wine - per person!
All in all, this place is a glutton's dream - or somebody who wants a one-meal day at a great price with a large wine buzz included!Listed in: Top Restaurants

Ok seriously. 26 bucks a person. ALL YOU CAN EAT steaks and food bar. There is a massive window that you go up to where there about 10 guys working The grill. Tell them what you want and how you want it cooked. and poof, its yours. Oh, and every single person gets a BOTTLE OF WINE with their dinner!! Don't plan on going out after wards, cause you will be in a drunken food coma... aha....
I miss this place! -

All I have to say is I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. It's my favorite place out of all the restaurants I've tried since moving to this area. The meat here is awesome, as well as the salad bar and the bottle of wine! ;) I've eaten here several times including today for lunch and as usual it was awesome. If I ever move out of South Florida this will be on the top of my list of things I will miss!

Yes.. I admit it. I didn't do any cooking for Valentine's Day, but the stove is still not in working condition. So, there, I made reservations (expect someone to answer the phone en Español at first ;) ) to this restaurant I haven't gotten the chance to try till this day. The price was 35.95 per person (I get it though, it was the weekend and it was a "hallmark event" lol) Though, we made our reservation and got there 15 minutes early, we still had to wait, maybe 5 extra minutes after the reservation time, which wasn't too bad. There were a lot of people standing. Literally, there was no space for the doorway unless people moved a bit. You could tell that some of these people just stopped by without reservations because a lady in the front would write in the names. But, hey, I get it, it's an Argentinean buffet. There was a guy passing by us and the crowd with a big tray of empanadas and they went by quickly in a minute.
We were seated in the corner, near by the appetizer and salad bar. I really liked their selection.. they even had seviche and sliced eggplants drenched in olive oil, Russian salad, square cheeses (to go with wine) etc. The wine was included, which was another good reason I wanted this place.
Our server was Silvia, who seemed to sort of understand us, but not when we asked about going over there to get the food or they bring it to us. We still saw servers bringing food to other people on the table, which confused us.. was it because it was for the big family of a table full of seniors?? We just went straight to the line anyways. I had to ask the guy in the grill area to speak up since I am hard of hearing and a lot of people talking in the area. :)) The steaks were okay, one was too juicy because of all the fat, but I liked the skirt steak they had. I think I had a hint of bacon on top of one of the steaks, too. My Ralphie seemed totally pleased with the chicken here topped with some cheese and bacon. I was too full from the salad bar along with their veggies. Not so bad at all.
For dessert, we ordered chocolate mousse and jelly roll filled with chocolate and caramel (with ice cream on the side) . Again, Ralphie felt that he needed to cheat that part of his diet since this was included. At the end, I got a nice pink rose from Silvia, like most other women in here did. :)
I would like to come here again, but probably not too often as I'm still on a budget and would go crazy on food here (but probably would prefer it over doing that a Chinese buffet). -

I would rate the food a "4", but the service was a "-3", hence the overall rating of 1. We really enjoyed the meats, they were remarkable, and the cooks preparing these meats were helpful, courteous, and friendly. The salads were also well prepared, and the choices were great. But our server was one of the most inconsiderate and if I dare say it, prejudiced people I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. Unfortunately neither my wife or I speak a word of Spanish, and this guy wouldn't give us the time of day, much less service in the restaurant.
It started when we arrived. We explained to him that we had never been to this restaurant, and asked if he would tell us about how it worked. His answer: "All you can eat, salad, meat. You want wine?", and he thrust the wine list into our hands, them walked away. After reviewing the winelist and deciding against the wine, we waited about 10 minutes for him to return. When he did return we told him that we didn't want wine, and he walked away again, still not telling us anything about the place, or how we were to begin. A fellow diner overheard us by now as we expressed our confusion to each other, and they told us where the meats were prepared, what cuts were available, and how to get what was available. They also told us that a bottle of wine came with the meal, a small but significant tidbit the waiter did not share with us. They also explained that the meal came with a choice of rice and potato, and that the waiter would bring that from the kitchen as it was prepared fresh, not placed out for self-service.
Armed with this information we requested the complimentary bottle of wine which the waiter begrudgingly provided, and we headed to the salad and meat selections. As stated above, the food was really great. The sausage, pork, chicken, and beef were prepared well, were tasty, and were in abundance. However, we still hadn't received the water we requested when we arrived, and the waiter never asked us what our choice was for potatoes or rice. We didn't make a big deal about it because we didn't want it anyway.
Then we began to notice things; seated at two tables adjoining us were spanish speaking patrons, and a third table with non-spanish speakers. The service provided to the tables was strikingly different. Although I don't speak spanish, I do understand some. The waiter was VERY attentive to those who spoke spanish, asking them what kind of potato they wanted, explaining the free wine, and even offering and providing fresh empanades from the kitchen, as well as providing them with fresh bread and butter. Their glasses never went empty. Ours were never refilled, even though we asked repeatedly. And the other non-spanish speaking table received the same horrible service that we got.
Finally we got to dessert, and we asked if there were desserts available since previous reviews we read indicated that there were. We had a dessert menu literally tossed onto our table as the waiter passed by 10 minutes later. We did order a dessert, and eventually it was dropped off too, all without a word uttered by the waiter. Throughout the entire meal, this guy didn't speak more than three sentences to us. He failed on every level a waiter can fail on, and it was really a miserable experience for us.
Normally I start tipping at 20%, and if service is just average it stays there. Good service leads to 25% or higher. This clown got $5.00 on a $56.00 bill, and he did not deserve even that much. We will NOT be going back. -

I was kinda of skeptical about this place...i had been in argentinian restaurants before, and for someone who have spent one entire month in argentina...always my high expectation were disappointing...that wasnt the case at the Knife...
In Buenos Aires i ate at this place named "siga la vaca"...one of the best places in buenos aires to eat meat..and since then i thought that would be the last time i would eat meat that "argentinian style", and i was "sad" abotu that...well, IT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN LAST NIGHT!!!!...
It seemed to me like if i was transported to buenos aires again!...high quality meat...buffet of salads...dessert...good service..one bottle of wine...and everything in a saturday for just 30$...(it was about 10$ in BA...the only difference you will find..lol)
No more to say...GO AND ENJOY EXACTLY AS IF YOU WERE IN THE GREAT PUERTO MADERO NEIGHBORHOOD IN THE HEART OF BUENOS AIRES!! -

yes free recycled wine with your meal.... if you like massive quantities of bad food and free bottles of wine that have been recycled, then this is your place. If free wine and large quantity, irrespective of quality, is what you are looking for then come here. The chicken was practically inedible. The wine tasted like vinegar, a telltale sign that the wine was old, a fact that was reinforced when we realized that the bottle was never actually opened at the table. A cursory glance around the restaurant revealed various other open bottles of wine stacked on counters and the bus-boy station. So our "free" wine bottle sat almost full on our table the rest of the night. The diet cokes were flat. The sirloin was OK, but after having just been to BLT on South Beach and eaten the truly top-quality hanger steak and NY strip, it fell way short. As a regular patron of Plataforma in New York which serves excellent rodizio, albeit at higher prices, the meat at The Knife left us sorely disappointed. What was supposed to be baked cheese on a baking dish was so hard to scrape out that when I finally managed to do so it almost landed in an empty water glass. Power tools might have succeeded in extricating the stubborn cheese from the dish, but we were admittedly ill prepared for this unexpected situation. But all kidding aside (although it was precisely these jokes that got us through this disastrous experience), the quality of the meat was poor and left the four people in our group feeling sick. The service was nonexistent: water glasses and soda glasses unfilled; dirty plates and glasses littering the table for the duration of the meal. The ceiling directly above us was moldy and falling apart in other areas. We even took pictures. By the time dessert was being ordered from the menu we were grateful that they were not homemade and although the dulce de leche crepe was OK, the stale profiterole with the frost-bitten ice cream was most certainly not OK. The only thing the Knife is good for is for slitting your wrists after you get the $125 bill with the bad meal still swirling in your stomach. We laughed about our experience afterwards but if you value good quality food and at least decent service do not patronize this place.
