Since 1971 Tourists, locals, and even a few ghosts have enjoyed a dimly lit watering hole on the corner of Chartres and Iberville. Our copper bar counters complimented by a dozen tables and 10 big screen TVs makes the Jimani a great place to escape the heat, rain, cold, and the peddlers that are a part of life in the Big Easy. Places like this are hard to find in the French Quarter. With over 100 cold beers to choose from, great music, all Direct TV Sports packages, UFC fights, and a grill that can make a mean hamburger or Crawfish Pasta The Jimani provides a can't-miss slice of the New Orleans drinking scene. Our bartenders have a personality reflective of the place, whimsical and efficient at the same time, and certainly give you the impression that they are familiar with the business end of a barstool themselves. Join us for a couple of drinks and a couple of songs on the juke box you too may find yourself sitting on top of the world in this city below sea level.

Ok it is a small dark kinda cramped dive that plays old Steely Dan type of music but I appreciated the service and the food. The prices were just right and the menu did offer some tasty twist to the traditional bar food. We got a 16 inch pizza for $14 and it is pretty big

This place will stick with me till the day I die. New Orleans has so many bars but this one is one of my favorite spots. Great beer selections, we were a group of 14 and got our food very quickly. The amount tvs in this place is insane, there has to be close to 15 tvs.
The bartender was great, and overall it's one of the nicer bars in that general area, very updated and somewhat modern. Still get the "dive bar" feel though.
The Philly cheesesteak was one of the best things I have ever put into my mouth. It was so good I forgot to take a picture before I bit into that deliciousness.
I will go back there again before I leave tomorrow.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 8, 2023
We found The Jimani just walking by down in the French Quarter. We were hot and looked inside and the place was clean and not insane like most places there and the AC was nice and cold.
We sat at the bar and were greeted right away, we ordered drinks that were made very quickly and OH SO STRONG! Then we were asked if we wanted food and we ordered the boudin balls. Took about 10 minutes but the cook was churning out food the entire time and we were enjoying our drinks so we did not mind.
The Buodin balls came fresh out the fryer to us by the cook and they were delicious! Hot and crispy on the outside, hotter and tender on the inside! It was too hot outside and we were pretty full from the Boudin balls so we did not order anything else.
Fun spot, good music, great food and amazing drinks!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 9, 2024
This is a typical French Quarter bar with a tiny kitchen. So, ambiance is obvious. Very down to earth. I was in for a quick burger. It was not crowded, and it took them over thirty minutes to manage a burger, which was simply ordinary. Unfortunately, the cook was preparing the food with his bare hands. Thankfully, I am not ill with food poisoning almost 24 hours later, and am grateful. I gave an extra stat because the bar staff was nice and they were really working hard.

This is one of my go to spots in the quarter for the past 15 years! The prices are not high like most other spots in the area and the service is never lacking. The food is prepared right where you can see what's going on. Nice little place for a burger and a beer

It was great the first time we visited the cook was awesome we were told she made the food with love... 2nd visit the food wasn't the same, not as flavorful and very greasy for a Philly. The vibes are chill. It's a great spot for a late night bite to eat. But would definitely check out other spots first. Also no cocktails menu which was fine but the bar menu was one of the biggest I've seen before which was pretty cool.

Great food in a casual and friendly place. Pork had a good seasoning on it without being spicy.

The Jimani is a little quick pop in bar kind of place. I'm a wine person and they don't have a selection of wine but my husband did enjoy the beer choices on tap. The service was good and the ambiance was colorful and local for sure.
