If your hungry don't come here. The food is expensive and comes in tiny tiny portions, but it is good.
The last time I was there I had the cheese fondue which was really good and the portion was big.
They have a good selection of run and whiskey, although I am not a fan of neither. The wine selection is also good.
I keep going back cause I like the atmosphere and the staff there. They are all very helpful and knowledgable.
The cocktail menu is interesting as well. If you like strong drinks this could be a good place for you. -

These are things I like right now - whiskey, kale, beets, and kabocha squash. So I was more than a little excited when I found myself in Carroll Gardens, in search of a cocktail and some light fare, and discovered all of these things on the menu in front of the Jakewalk. I had all of them that night and they were delicious.
It's a good alternative to Clover Club when you don't want to be in a scene (or when you don't want to behold a bitters theft. Seriously, did y'all hear about that? Some Brooklyn hipster up and stole bitters from the Clover Club last year, during that very dark period known as the Angosturapocalypse - apparently she was having a party and wanted to make Manhattans but couldn't find any. Cra-zy).
Anyway.
Perfect low-key atmosphere on a Sunday (Sunday is the new Wednesday which used to be the new Thursday, which, once upon a time, was the new Saturday). Great bartender who made a delicious Old Fashioned with Wild Turkey Rye and only charged me $9. If this were my neighborhood, this would be my neighborhood bar. -

The Ambience is good , the drinks are okay , the food i will never try,
...not fond of cheese anyway.
Indifferent, pretentious, rude and biassed staff, from the phony manager to the ignorant bartender and waitresses. -

I'd like to have a cocktail-off between Jake Walk and the Clover Club.
If I had to wager a bet, I'd bet on Jake Walk in this competition purely on the amazing spirits they have on their back-bar. Amazing selection (as you can imagine from the owners of Smith & Vine).
Great cheeses and meats as well (as you can imagine from the owners of Stinky).
Hey. Remember the place that was there years before with the blue + white decor... they were going for a Miami theme? Hilarious.
Jake Walk I enjoy. I do find it a bit too loud sometimes and whoever is manning the Zune sometimes plays stuff that I don't really think gels well with the whole... scene.
That said, they make a nice cocktail. -

Came here the other night due to a friends craving for shishito peppers. Upon arrival I immediately liked the small, comfortable atmosphere. With no more than 12 little, 2 seater tables, plus bar seating, Jakewalk is the perfect first date spot. It's also the perfect place for the average wine and cheese lover, which my friends an I just happen to be. Though the menu has a rather small selection, that which is on it makes up for in a wide range of flavors. We didn't order much but that which we did none of us had any complaints.
We had the beet salad and asked to substitute the blue cheese with goats. A classic that can never really be done wrong. Next was the butternut squash and brussels sprouts with pumpkin seeds dish. Very flavorful and nicely roasted. Reminded all of us of a homemade meat dish (although there was no meat in it). And we had the mushroom sandwich. Perfectly toasted baguette with a nice marinating of cheese to mushroom to dressing. Along with the those dishes we had a nice cheese and meats board.
Nice small plates to share, cheese and wine, and the comfortable atmosphere of Jakewalk, I would definitely come back for a small bite and nice glass of wine. -

I had been to Jakewalk a few times before I moved to the hood this summer but now that I'm living around the corner, I am hooked. It is hands-down my favorite place to go for good drinks, food and conversation in a lovely little bar with a very warm vibe. I have eaten their cheese fondue so many times, I may be made of it by now. Also, I have had manhattans at most bars in the hood, not to mention many old-school spots in Manhattan, and their manhattan is my favorite, for sure.
The staff is very nice and competent, but pretty unobtrusive overall, which is perfect so that you can have that serious dish-fest with your bestie over a whole lot of sausage & cheese & rye whisky... -

Glass clink to the lovely Lisa A on this one...in her review of Brookvin (another quick fave of mine) she eloquently quilled: "Ah, this is *exactly* what Park Slope needed. Carroll Gardens has the Jakewalk and Park Slope now has Brook-vin."
And since I love Brookvin, I figured Jakewalk might be a safe bet. Lisa A told me so, right!? So on a *few* ahem recent nights in Carroll Gardens, I made a little dive into Jakewalk. I am thrilled, if not...ecstatic. A good chill wine bar with the tastiest of snacks, the friendliest of folks and super ease of location? Well, I'm sold.
Visit #1: viewed a thunderstorm from the covered tables just outside the restaurant. Enjoyed happy hour wine specials while chatting with a friend. Summer corn (must get!) and a cheese plate punctuated the evening, beautiful.
Visit #2: Heartier fare. A BLT (bread was a bit too tough to enjoy, the only downfall I could ever find!) and the gin cocktails sang sweet nothings to me as I conversed on a late summer evening with friends.
Now a go-to spot when something relaxed is in order. Excellent wine list, beautiful cocktails, and a short menu of classic items that one can enjoy pre or post dinner.
Great for a date, the volume is manageable, but not too quiet...just whisper that you found it on Yelp and that Lisa A and I sent ya, ok? (Kiiiiiiidding, but they will be impressed if you pick it)
Cheers!Listed in: Carroll Gardens

So, after some careful consideration I decided to give this place 3 stars. and I'll tell ya why...
There were only a couple other tables occupied when we walked in on a quiet Monday after work. We ordered up the fondue and looked over the cocktail menu. The waiter wasn't exactly helpful as we dissected the eclectic drink menu. I ended up ordering the "Scarlet Witch." For $10 it was made with white rum, demerara syrup (whatever that is), blackberries, lime juice, and a bunch of other random items. The drink wasn't bad... but the blended blackberries got in the way. It felt like I was drinking juice with pulp. I think the drink would be much much better if it were strained before served and I don't think I'd order again.
While the drinks were ok... the food was pretty awesome. The cheese was warm and a little spicy and perfect when paired with the apple, salami and bread slices that came with. If you go- get the fondue for sure. and make sure, at least once, that you stack the items on your fork (order doesn't matter... salami apple bread. apple bread salami....) and dip. All those flavors together = awesome!
While the cheese we were served was great... it was warm. When the couple next to us got served their fondue plate theirs was bubbling. Literally boiling! Granted they wouldn't be able to start eating right away if they wanted to keep their taste buds...but the idea of hot bubbling cheese sounded much more appealing than the warm cheese we had just finished.
And the last thing to note, another reason I gave The Jakewalk a 3-star review (for now anyway) is because the service was a bit slow. And I'm not sure who our waiter actually was. One person took our drink order. Another brought the drinks over. and again with the food and the bill later. Its a small place...so I guess they all work together. But how do you tip? Ah well. All and all an a-ok visit. I'll stop by again sometime... for the fondue. -
Review from Claire F.
I was at The Jakewalk after the brunch rush and the place was about half full, having that calm feeling of a not-too-busy resto mixed with the buzz of the staff mixing drinks, pouring wine and prepping tasty snacks.
We enjoyed two of their cocktails, since we had come to Brooklyn Social but they forgot they were supposed to open at 5pm and we got too hot waiting. Silly, Bk Social.
I cannot resist a nod to Salinger, so I had the For Esmé (dry vermouth, crème de peche, lime juice, demerara syrup, allspice dram, sparkling rose). Although the mention of allspice makes me nervous, it was refreshing. My friend had The Jakewalk (rum, tequila, st. germain, lime, peychaud's bitters) and although it was a bit strong for me, the st. germain lightened things up a bit and it was quite refreshing.
The little toasts with fresh figs and ricotta were absolutely blooming with flavor, just the right dash of olive oil and sea salt brought out the freshness of the ricotta and the brightness of the figs. Next time, I am coming hungry enough to enjoy a cheese plate, since it had some notables on it.
Atmosphere : The dark wood mixed well with the sunlight pouring in through the open floor to ceiling windows/doors, giving an indoor-outdoor cafe feeling to the place that also would seem to work well buttoned up on a cold night, particularly considering their extensive whisk(e)y/scotch list.
All in all, this was the perfect place to chill out on a warm summer Sunday afternoon.Listed in: F-love, Eat here., G-funk, Make Out City, Come, drink with Claire F…

They have a great selection of cheese and charcuterie - the large cheese and meat board is perfect for two, and you'll get a more balanced selection than if you try to put one together youself - especially after a flight of rye or two. I wish they had more food choices - they're close to a five star.

I feel like I'm missing something when it comes to the Jakewalk. Everyone seems to love it, but every cocktail I've ever had there has tasted off. It seems like they want to make everything bitter and weird, when sometimes I just want something simple, fresh and delicious. Ambiance is nice, but service always seems a little cold to me. If it were just a wine bar it'd be 4 stars, but I sadly can't get behind the cocktails.

Just wanted to say: I still *really* like Jakewalk, and their wines (somethin' sparkly, light, and chilled, made from Pinot Noir grapes last night -- so good!), and cheeses, and olives, and next time I WILL try that delicious looking artichokey-toast-thingy.
An adorable server (way too young for me, but adorable) was knowledgeable and sweet and fun to look at.
I love the faucets in their bathrooms. Seriously, go there and check them out. But I could not figure out how to use the soap dispenser, even before I was tipsy. Stoopid Coo? Hmph. :pListed in: The ubiquitous "wine bar", Cheese, please.

Review from Lisa A.
This is my somewhat regular wine bar, and for the past two years I've also celebrated my birthday here. I can't ever see myself straying either. Last year we had a larger group--around 10 people--and spent many hours and bought many, MANY bottles of Tempranillo and ate several tiny dishes of olives, and indulged on cheese and meat boards. This year we had about 7 people and it wasn't a Tempranillo evening because it was 95 degrees outside. For me, French 75's ruled my evening (and they do make a DAMN fine one)--light, crisp and refreshing. (I have no idea how many I drank and I'd appreciate it if no one told me. Thanks.)*
The staff couldn't be any nicer and more accommodating. They found out it was my birthday and gave us a plate of roasted shishito peppers (delicious!). I hope the two servers enjoyed the salted fudge brownies that I made and the mocha sea salted cupcakes ms. cara made...because they certainly deserved something in return for the super sweet service.
So, thank you again, Jakewalk for letting my friends and I share a nice evening out.

Cozy neighborhood bar with great staff and wine selection. The cocktails have also come a long way recently and are creative and tasty. And they're not too stingy with the booze!
Don't miss the cheese plates and charcuterie - you really can't go wrong. Not a place to go for the food, but if you're looking for a great drink and a snack, it's one of the best in the neighborhood. -

Came here with my groupon deal of cheese fondue (5 yr. Cheddar & Cave-Aged Swiss blend with Apple, Salami, Bread to dip) & ordered a La Peral cheese (Fudgy, eggy, custard-like cow's and sheep's milk, Asturias, Spain - not a cheese connoisseur...but sure tasted deliciously salty)
Everything was good from food to service, and it's a great place to stop by for an appetizer/snack. The decor is bar-like but also homey that it'd make my neighborhood favorite..if I lived there.
I had no complaints and will comeback to pair a cheese board with a glass of wine. I approve of their beautifully printed menus -

I've been here 4 times in the past few years. The first time was for Valentine's Day when everywhere in the neighborhood was taking reservations and over-exploded with waiting couples. The Jakewalk saved the day (no reservations required) with an empty table after only a five-minute wait, a very romantic atmosphere, an awesome cocktail menu and wine list, and delicious food. Fondue. Cheese plate. Macaroni and cheese. Can you tell I'm a cheese fan? The price was reasonable, too.
The second time it wasn't my first choice either. I'd been at Clover Club waiting 20 minutes for a drink and decided to walk out. The Jakewalk came through again :) Since that day, I've made it my first choice restaurant, but I have to give it 3 stars for the following reasons:
1. tables are reaaaally close together (I know...it's Brooklyn...but this is a pet peeve of mine, and at the Jakewalk I'm always somehow seated next to loud women);
2. the menu is limited and two of the four times I've been, they were out of more than one of the dishes, including a time when they weren't serving anything hot;
3. the bar scene can make it feel overcrowded and loud;
4. the drinks are a bit on the skimpy side for the price--too much ice and not even full. When I politely asked the waitress if this was the drink I ordered (it tasted watery and was only 2/3 full) she offered to pour me a double...for an extra cost. No thanks. When she gave us the check she'd charged me for two drinks when I'd only had one.
Not all the waitstaff is like this. The last time we went, my husband ordered something he just didn't like, and when the waitress noticed he hadn't eaten much she offered to bring him something else and not charge for the item he'd originally ordered. That was a first, and was very appreciated. -

My mom is a compulsive grouponer. She sees groupons for good prices and without thinking further, she purchases them and then realizes she either doesnt like that the groupon is for or doesnt want to travel for her deal.
Thats where I come in. For one, I eat everything. And two, I love when mom buys stuff she doesnt need- because then i get it. Win Win.
The Jakewalk* is a few steps away from the G Train on Bergen street.
I have heard great things about the drinks here so when I arrive at the empty location, i present my groupon and ask the bartender for a recommendation. I get something on the drink list with sour mix. I cant remember the name of it for hte life of me. But it was the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and a touch of alcohol. It made for a pleasant beverage to sip.
We then ordered the cheese fondue. It came with bread, apples and salami with a rich gruyere dipping sauce.
It was a great combo and I definitely enjoyed it.
Service was a little slow but I would definitely come back here!

Came here with some friends and a groupon recently and had a great time! The service was good, the prices totally decent and the decor is rustic and cute.
The fondue was not the best I've ever had, so I have to take off a star for that, but I did love that they oferred yummy salami to dunk. Meat dunked into hot cheese. Pretty delicious! And everyone at my table thought so. -

I am fully, 100% obsessed with this place (as I am with anything that has a menu where most things are drenched in cheese.)
Amazing decor (though it's relatively tiny) and definitely well priced- the place is a home run. No pretentiousness, grrrreat happy hour specials, de-freaking-licious cheese fondue, and the scallops melt in your mouth.
There's nothing not to love.
You're welcome. -
Review from Shea D.
What's that you say? There's actually some pretty cool places over on that random stretch of Smith Street in Brooklyn? Hmmm, I'm not sure I believe you...
One $8 Groupon for a $16 pot of cheese fondue + $10-off bottle of white wine (on Wednesdays!) and a pot of chocolate fondue later, and I stand corrected. We walked in a little after 7 pm on a Wednesday evening and we were seated right away. The cheese fondue was served with apple slices, salami, and bread, and the chocolate fondue came with more apple slices, strawberries, and marshmallows. The wine was a French white with a hint of apple, so it went pretty well with our meal.
The ambiance in here is nice, the pace isn't too fast, and there's definitely the "Brooklyn crowd" in here if you know what I mean...there's even a random photo of a goat above the bar. Speaking of which, there's also a *giant* mirror above the bar, so if you'd like to witness the gradual progression of your inebriation/food coma, then by all means, sit at the bar.
The fondue pots are a little small, and we'd end up with leftovers to dip even after we'd wiped the pot clean of all the fondue. The cheese fondue runs $16, so I expect a little more fondue than what we got, and the chocolate was $12, and again, same story. I've received much bigger pots at other places in the city with comparable prices, so that is my one criticism here. But the Jakewalk is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and feel like something different.Listed in: BOB (Best of Brooklyn)

I love this place. It has a nice old-timey, prohibition-era feel, and the bartenders clearly care about crafting the perfect cocktail.
I came here for a private event, and they put on quite the party. The staff was super nice, even as the crowd became drunker and more obnoxious (thanks for putting up with our ridiculous karaoke). The cocktail of the night was the Einhorn (+50,000 points for the Ace Ventura nod) and it. was. so. good. Bourbon, green chartreuse, honey syrup, and orange bitters. All in a fancy throwback cocktail/champagne glass that would make Nick and Nora Charles feel right at home.
The food (various cheeses and charcuterie, mac and cheese, and even some appetizer portioned hangar steaks on mashed potatoes) was amazing. People were pretty much throwing elbows to stake their claim in front of the platters.
But above all, The Jakewalk makes us learn about history. Who knew the jake walk was an actual ridiculous walking style that people suffered from after drinking alcoholic medicine during the prohibition (per their website)? Well, I know now. And knowing is half the battle.Listed in: Top Restaurants

this place was delicious. we chewed on a charred romaine salad, some scallops, artichoke crostinis and both the cheese and desert fondue. I know that's a little excessive, but it was well worth the stomach aches.
the cocktails were nice and stiff, and the wine list, cheese and meat selections are fantastic. The space is very well done and comfortable, and fun to look at. I'll go here whenever you want. -

Stopped in for a pre-game drink as we waited for our table at the Grocery. January for me has been a respite from drinking and the bartender was creative in making a festive winter virgin cocktail. he put forth an A Game on a creation that lacked alcohol, and it made me ponder that so often the makings of a good cocktail have nothing to do with the liquor.
I found the staff and patrons to be friendly and chill. In fact, with only a small slot open at the bar, both parties to the right and left made room for us without asking. How un-Manhattan of you. ;-) And thanks.
Jakewalk is comfortable and dark, and as I perused the wine list, I made a mental note to return and add this venue to the BK tour.
Jake, thank you for a fun pre-game. -

I've avoided Jake Walk for a few years now, simply because a crazy, old roommate loved it and I was convinced anything she'd like so much, I would hate. I was wrong.
A friend and I went last night and had the cheese fondue. It was delicious (served with bread, salami, and green apples), and the perfect amount for two.
I was in the mood for a cocktail, so I tried the El Guapo. Well made, but a little too strong for me. I really just think that's me not being able to handle my bitters though. I switched to a glass of sparkling rose and the night was perfect.
The vibe is great - dark & cozy. A great date place or spot to catch up with friends.
I will definitely be back, despite the strong possiblity that I'm going to run into that crazy bird. That's how good it is. -

On nights when humanity has you so completely disgusted that "the fire next time" seems more a promise than a threat, when the only thing that will restore your faith in the last six thousand years of Western Civilization is a good snack and several stiff drinks, stay away from The Jakewalk.
It's a cute-enough wine bar, with a giant, self-congratulatory wine list, but the owners seriously need to help the country's unemployment rate by hiring one more waitress. And cut the price of the drinks by 25%. Smith Street IS still in Brooklyn, for goodness' sake. My Jakewalk cocktail was pink and tasty, but $12 for a drink --with small bits of ice floating in it -- in a vintage Champagne coupe is too much, and when I've waited 15 minutes for it, after the day I had, I need another one like right away. It was teeny so I ordered a glass of wine when I still had maybe a quarter of my drink left, but although that skimpy pour of rose couldn't have taken more than a second, I was still out of beverage and trying desperately to catch a server's attention for longer than I wanted to be. There's a term in the restaurant industry for the time between 6-9. It's called the Dinner Rush. Plan for it.
My fondue was a perfectly tasty snack. Why do fondue places have such terrible service? My favorite is actually worse than here, and I don't go anymore for that reason. Now I'm home and thankfully have a box of sangria in the fridge. -

The Jake Walk has been my best Groupon experience thus far. Not only is the food amazing (their heirloom tomato salad was a religious experience), but the prices are very reasonable. It's a very cozy tapas bar and the wine list is very well rounded. Some standouts: Fondue, Meat & Cheese plate, Corn Salad... let's be honest, you can't go wrong with anything here. Just be sure to enjoy their food with a glass of wine in hand - then you can jake walk home :-)

Overall good experience at The Jakewalk. Was heading to the Boerum Hill area for a friend's birthday gathering at The Clover Club. I volunteered to find some options for dinner nearby and The Jakewalk was top on my list, specifically because of the fondue.
When we arrived around 8PM on a Friday night, the place was packed but the waiter near the door told us we would be seated in about 10 minutes and pointed to a table that was getting their check. We waited just about that time and it appeared another table opened up so we took that one instead.
It took us a while to get through the wine menu and then the food menu so we missed the waitress who stopped by twice during that time. When we were ready we finally flagged down the waiter who took our drink order and then waited quite a while until we had to flag down the same waiter who found our original waitress to take our food order. The food and bottle of wine arrived more quickly.
Two of us split the fondue (salami, bread and apples to be dipped in melted swiss cheese) and another got the croque monsieur sandwich which came with chips and tiny pickles. The fondue was good and filling but I still felt a little hungry so we ordered the dessert fondue (marshmallows, graham crackers, apples and strawberries to dip in melted chocolate) which definitely filled us up. Only disappointment was that the chocolate hardened pretty quickly.
It took a long time to get the check (we eventually flagged down the waiter again) even though the place got pretty crowded. It's nice that they let you take your time but at the same time a little more attentiveness would have been nice.
The prices were affordable -- the fondue for two was only $12 and the sandwich cost about the same. The atmosphere was dark and cozy and romantic feeling, probably a good place for a date. Probably a good spot for a wine and cheese connosieur. -

Why is it so fucking hot outside? Have I just blocked out summers past, or is this just the hottest summer on record? If you're as incapable of handling the heat as I am, you might want to swing by the Jakewalk.
But beware the bartender's charms. At first I developed a small crush on him, as he had the presence of mind to pour me a cold glass of water as soon as I sat down.
And then gave me a sweet deal on an Allagash ($4), and I fell sweaty forehead over heels in love with him. He tried to play off our intense, undeniable connection by pretending that everyone gets $2 off all drinks during happy hour. But I know I'm special. I know he thinks about me whenever he pours the Portland White. -

Really pleasant, chill place to spend a Thursday evening. I had a nice (really nice, actually) pink bubbly by the glass for $9. On first glance I wasn't a huge fan of the menu (no wines by the glass for less than $9) but was relieved to find that the reason was because they didn't want to serve junky wines. $9 for a really decent pink bubbly is not a problem for me.
Cozy, grown up vibe. Unfortunately the fondue wasn't super great, not terrible, just not exactly worth it to me. For the calorie bomb-ness of it, I'd rather make it at home/go to artisinal. -

I came here after buying the Groupon deal. It was so delicious I decided to come back. The fondue (both the cheese and chocolate) and meat/cheese platters are phenomenal. The portions are small (which I expected) but it still leaves you satisfied. I walked out feeling pleasant and not like a glutton who stuffed myself.

I've been to Jake Walk several times, mostly for the carefully crafted cocktails and interesting snack plates. I'm a general fan of the room --the lights, color, decor, spacial layout. I really want to recommend Jake Walk, but after my experience there last night, I cannot.
I stumbled in quite hungry and found a nice spot at the center of the bar. Now, let me get to the details:
1. I waited for nearly 10 minutes before I was offered a drink. Meanwhile, the barkeep was fixated on the couple sitting next to me. Somehow, I remained invisible. Finally the bartender working the other end of the bar read my frustration and kindly took my drink order. That's the bad.
2. I asked for recommendations for my dinner order and was directed to the sicilian sausage sandwich, which was served with sweet onions braised in white wine. The house-made sausage was delicious and was complimented well by the dressings of baby arugula and creamy aioli. I truly enjoyed the sandwich. That's the good. Now comes the really bad.
3. After a few bites of my braised onions, I began to notice some chewy, stringy, dry bites. I wanted to believe that I was wrong, but it became evident that the onions weren't properly cleaned and that there were several sections of skin in my serving.
I immediately and quietly leaned in to let the barkeep know that this was the case. There was no explanation, no offer to replace the braised onion side or any apology. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed that once I received my check, there would be some sort of compensation for the botched entree. Wrong. In fact, after I noticed this, I asked him, "did you plan to do anything for me re. the onions?" His response, "I hadn't planned on it."
End of story. -

WOW!! The French Toast here is AMAZING!! It is like....creamy creme brulee goodness with awesome boozy maple syrup!! We had some chorizo as well as potato pancakes (rostis?) which were also phenomenal. Yum-o. Also the breakfast cocktails are fantastic....with the outside seating + people watching on Smith I can't think of a better place to brunch on a boozy Saturday or Sunday. :)

The Jakewalk has just opened, and this girl is giving it a rave review.
No longer will you have to go scouring the neighborhood for a decent glass of wine AND something decent to munch on with it. No more dark shoebox evenings at Sample or loud fusbol nights at Bar Tabac. The alternative is this lovely spot on the corner of Smith and Sackett. Owned by the same people who brought Smith & Vine (the wine store) and Stinky (the cheese shop) to Carroll Gardens, their newest venture has only been open for two weeks and I am definitely smelling a hit on their hands (or maybe it's just that wonderful robiola or aged gouda that they serve). Offering 50 wines by the glass is bound to make everyone happy, no matter what varietal is your favorite.

I love how easy it is to turn nouns into active verbs these days. -

Vibe is a little uptight. Prices are kinda steep.
BUT, Monday - fondue and 2 glasses of wine for $22 = AWESOME.
And, apparently, there's free cheese from 2-5pm on Sundays. I GOTS to get me some of that! -

I have made it my rule to try everything I'm offered whenever possible in my first year in New York. Especially when it involves cheese.
My dining companion ordered the cabot clothbound cheddar. You know Vermont can do no wrong when it comes to cheddar. And this was truly a wise old cheese.
And the rest of our gluttonous hog of a spread?: fondue for two (with sopressata), the duck rillete (a pulled duck sandwich platter), a pickle platter, AND an olive bowl. It's good to be the king.
And in the end, our check (in conjunction with our booze-soaked brains) brought big smiles to our faces.
The only remote disappointment was the fondue, because they don't have a way of keeping it warm and consistent, which, as my friend quoted, made it comparable to 'eating a dirty sock.'
Dirty socks aside, I highly recommend this place for a poor man's rich snack. -

Returned to this place on a rainy Saturday afternoon... got to use our Groupon ($8) for a cheese fondue seat. We had some wine, the cheese, and some cured meats. It was pretty crowded at 6pm.

Drinks were good but one slice of cheese for $5 is just stingy!
Half the cheeses we ordered I knew already and you could buy a very large substantial wedge for the $5 they were charging for 1 or barely 2 slices.
They should maybe charge a little more per cheese and then provide a more substantial amount so you don't feel like you should be eating a few crumbs of the stuff at a time.
The cheeses are also quite standard. Humboldt Fog?
Its not actually that great. Its sort of the Stella Artois of cheese.
Anyway - nice concept, great drinks, cheese sort of stinks and not in a good way.
