YUM!  We had an amazing breakfast here last weekend.

My husband got the Seafood omelette, which I was a little weary about at first, but once I had a taste I was convinced!!  The seafood they used was succulent, delicious and fresh.

I had pigs in a blanket (yes, a very mature choice I know) and the sausages were excellent and wrapped in very fluffy and yummy pancakes!

I liked that they serve you free muffins with breakfast too.  It was a nice touch.

the night before we went to icabod's, and i can only assume the restaurants are owned by the same group.  the menu was the same and the food quality was about the same.

i don't really understand how this place stays so busy, it was not all that good.  my girlfriend had the 'be crabby' and it was okay, not anything exceptional.  i had the farmer's frittata and it was mediocre at best.  too much stuff on the the cheesy menu, the place just doesn't do it for me.  maybe you'll have a better experience, but it's not a place i would recommend. udderly awful.

Definitely the best meal I had on Sanibel Island during a week's vacation there - I would venture it may be the best restaurant there that's priced under $15/plate.

Things start off well with a great outside patio for eating that was nearly always full every time I walked or biked past the place -- and unfortunately also full when my group actually went to eat there. The goodness continues with cheap drinks - $10 pitchers of quality beer is nothing to complain about.

The value continues, especially notable given the inflated prices of Island meals which were often mediocre -- the $12 baker's dozen of delicious oysters stands out as a great value.

I had the catfish reuben based on one of the other reviews - delicious and like others have noted, the portions on everything are HUGE. Good stuff!

We decided to do take out here one night and dinner in one night, while in Sanibel. I did the Pulled Pork sandwhich with fries (battered and crispy) that was really good but it needed BBQ sauce that wasnt included in the order. The patty melt was tasty and the BBQ chicken sandwich was well cooked. The quesadilla was yummy as well. I think this place has a great atmoshere, comparable island pricing and good drinks. I would recommend the atmoshere inside instead of outside if you can help it.

Island Cow gets a lot of attention and I think its partially due to the big sign of a cow hula dancing out front.  Like a lot of food stops on Sanibel much of the food is good but not great.  There are some gems on the menu like the catfish ruben.  The portions are MASSIVE insuring you wont leave hungry.

Of the more family oriented restaurants on Sanibel, Island Cow is the best of them.  I might have reconsidered giving Island Cow a 5 but the last time I was there someone's glass broke and sent pieces of glass shooting across our table.  Concerned about eating food that just had glass sailing across it we notified our server and the manager who didn't seem to care.

I love this place!  Great menu, great prices but it's the service that makes me come back.

Family friendly, great prices, huge portions, drink specials, fun environment, how could you go wrong. You  may have to wait if you go at prime dinner time, but it will be worth it. Very good blackened grouper and crab cakes, yum.

Love the Island Cow.  Ate here twice in five days on Sanibel.  Go here.  Everyone will be happy.  Trust me.  Also, try the red beans and rice!

You're going to want to milk this one!

I always thought Cows don't really belong on an island, but this one somehow works.  Periwinkle and sea foam green wooden booths give this place a laid back feel, yet more unique than your local T.G.I.F.   The menu is rather expansive with at least 50 (note: this is not an exact fact, but rather an estimate) things to choose from. I ordered the Wombo Combo... I don't think I really knew what I was in for.

A Slab of Ribs, a generous portion of BBQ chicken, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, and another veggie later... yeah, you would think I was the island cow ordering all this food. I thought it would be a little teaser of each item.. which i like- i like having variety in my meals.. but this... each portion was a meal in itself.

So go hungry.. and have a cow man.

The Island Cow is amazing - great food, great service, but the only down side is that you have to get there before the 6-7o'clock rush

Our family loves the island cow - breakfast, lunch or dinner.  Only bad thing is you have to go early for any meal to avoid waiting awhile for a table (hubby hates to wait).  We've been here several years in a row with teens and everyone can find something that they liked.  Can't say that at every restaurant in Sanibel.  Great variety - great coffee and the atmosphere is fun.  Love the lawn chairs.  They do have "mosquito" screens on the porch they can roll down to keep the bugs out which is nice.  A must-do on Sanibel for us!

Fantastic place---great service, fun atmosphere and the food is priced right!   I love the grouper tacos---in fact, so large, that I take some of them home and have them for dinner.  On an island where food is expensive, this is the place to go!   Don't miss it!

I just got back from Sanibel Island and I ate here four times in 48 hours.  I had frickles for the first time here!  Whoa. Delicious.  There are so many choices and everything hits the spot.  Hands down the best fried catfish I've ever had.  Not sure how many people under 55 make it down to Sanibel Island, but if you're ever there this is really the only place you should eat at.  Oh yeah - excellent customer service and cheap too.

Fun place to go.  Huge menu, family friendly.  Try the shrimp and grits for something different or create your own seafood dish from one of the many catches of the day.

"Lets go to lunch on Captiva," said my Dad. Little did we know that most restaurants were closed for the off-season... so we made our way back to Sanibel. We picked The Island Cow as it had the most people parked outside and the freebie island guide said "dine with the locals". Well, we certainly weren't treated quite like locals, maybe our waitress has a problem with Brits (we are known to tip badly) or she likes to live up to the restaurant name? Anyway, after a few scowls (we had the cheek to ask for a glass to go with our bottle of beer),  we managed to get some Becks and cheeseburgers to our table, which were both tasty. This place reminded me of Bubba Gumps - except with lots of cow references - and like Bubba's, I'd come back for the sheer entertainment factor - having the check sent like a frisbee across the table was highly amusing. Otherwise, I'd leave it to the locals. Who knows how much moo-ing goes on during the high season?
