Ok, they have great french fries.... check
They also have happy hour... check
The crowd here is always buzzing, there's a great big vibe going through this little Pub.... check
But the thing that caught my attention as a way of setting this Pub from the others is the shot known as Hagen's Bomb. This blue concoction should probably come with a disclaimer since it might have you dancing on the bar without having been asked to.... Great Drinks.... Check
All the elements needed for a good, casual night of drinking!

I've been here a few times- mainly because it's open after other places in south miami close. The drinks are overpriced and the staff is slooow. I wouldn't recommend getting any mixed drinks on special because my experience is they are disgusting (heavy on syrup-light on alcohol). Otherwise the music is alright (usually rock, sometimes a little hip hop) and the crowd is o.k...
note: the fries are good

Yes. Yes, yes yes, ooooohhhh yes... foodgazms all around. Starting with the "house beer" (alas, already forgot the name, to come in review update), light with a pleasantly bitter kick.
Never had BangersnMash before, what a clever invention! Steamed mussels were slurpingly good.
Fishnchips were AMAAAAZING! Mr Lalotto, being a fried fish snob, considers this the best he's tasted outside the house.
A great pub feeling presides, transporting you far from Miami's Sunset Drive with no air fare required. Need I say more?

it's the kinda place where "everybody knows your name" and irish eyes are smiling because of the FISH AND CHIPS!
PS don't get so pixillated that your fish and chips are spirited away by wee leprechauns!

NOT A NEWSPAPER! This bar is great! Its too bad they are located way down in South Miami otherwise I'd probably come back more often. The authentic Irish bartenders like to joke around with patrons creating a fun atmosphere. They have some really good European beers on tap. Irish times is a little pricey... expect to pay about 7 bucks for a pint of premium suds. After I while, I got hungry and decided to order the sliders... They were actually the best sliders I've ever had, cooked perfect in everyway. They also had some Irish steak sauce that was awesome to put on them. Next time I'm in the area I will not hesitate to revist this pub.

Easily the best Irish pub in the South Miami / Coral Gables area. If you stop in for a pint, there is a good chance that you won't leave until you have drank many more.
Dear Irish Times,
Just when we needed a good fixin' of some good, souled, Irish food, there was you! BF and I had a date afternoon on Sunday and decided to come sit in the IT and have some grub. It was nice and quiet, just a couple other people there. I enjoyed the peacefulness of the silence. There was golf playing on the big screen and the BF sat down to watch.
Our one disappointment is that they were out of Bangers... So that being said, there were a couple of dishes out of commission. BUT!!! NO worries. There were still all my favorites on the menu.
I immediately told the BF not to fret because we were going to start off with the BEST steamed mussels EVER! I always get them with the white wine garlic butter sauce. OMG Can I just let everyone know how heavenly this sauce is?!?! We pretty much dipped ALL of our food into it. We also ordered the Sheppard's Pie and some Mac-n-Cheese. All of that went well with the sauce. :) Hehehehe Creative, aren't we?!
The Sheppard's Pie was done just right. I enjoyed it and our meal was extremely filling. The mac & cheese was great! Could have been a bit cheesier, but it was delish just the way it was. Oh, and it came with my favorite french fries, which I of course dipped in the honey mustard sauce that I asked for. :)
So all together, we had an amazing assortment of my favorites. It was a great meal and we had a great time. I washed mine down with a Newcastle, while the BF opted for a Smithwicks. Mmmm Mmmm Good!
Thank you Irish Times for a great, hearty meal. We definitely did some walking around after that!!!
MUCH Love,
SabrinaAnna*

Went there post-loud-music Splitsville...and wondered how come I haven't been there yet! Walked right in...no ID check, maybe I just look old. But whatev! Friday night around 12ish, wasn't too crazy. Got beers quick and found a spot around the pillar to chill. Music was good...good looking 20 somethings who are chill. Definitely a chill place. I only had the cider there...no food. Will definitely check out the food next time!
Tip-bits:
Either park on the street or if you are already in Sunset Place, just walk over!
Loud loud music in the toilet
Cool blackboard painted walls in the bathrooms
If you need to book it for an event, call them! They are so willing to work with you..and want to make sure they have enough staff to wait you!

LOVE IT! This is a really cool place to grab a drink or a yummy bite. They are open very late and offer a pretty good menu even late night (until 4am, I believe). I just can't believe I hadn't been here sooner.
I was there on Wednesday which happened to be ladies' night and had some excellent Margaritas. The bartenders were friendly and the food was great!!
I think The Irish Times may just be my new go-to place.

Been here in the past and had been disappointed but had heard great things about it and decided to give it another go. Showed up with friends on a Friday night. Granted, it was quite early (10pm) so the place wasn't jumping yet. Service was fast , had the playoffs and good music on.
Love the digital jukebox. For $1 you get the option of 2 songs to play in the order the machine received or you get your one song to play, right away. If you opt for the second choice, make sure you don't choose something lame for a bar like a Robin Thicke slow jam but more of a singalong Journey tune.
Great Irish beer selection and drink prices are sooo reasonable -you can get a pint of Guiness for $6.50 and a normal drink, like a rum and coke goes for about the same and it's in a nice tall glass, not in a mini one. They also have happy hour during the week (2for1) I believe which is great! just gotta check out the times...
The patrons are just as easy-going and relaxed as the place. It did get packed around midnight but you were still able to hold a conversation and the service was still good even during the peak hours.
Didn't eat there but the food looked yummy! They have this chocolate dessert that comes with ice cream but watch out- the ice cream is cold (this is what the waiter told the lady who ordered it). I snickered.
Overall, great times to be had at Irish Times without breaking out the piggy bank!!!

Num num num...goood beer, yummy food, fun staff. Banger n Mash...omg. Gimme more sausage!! (no blood sausage please - rasher?) I didn't know what to expect when I came in as far as the menu was concerned. We tried a few things - Irish breakfast (so much food, so delicious), fish and chips (yum!), bangers n mash (there are no words). We drank a bit.... we had some fun. Great atmosphere - there's actual IRISH peeps in there ;) and the staff is great. I love the furnishings in this restaurant, the lights are low, the people are friendly. If you go early, you'll get pretty much any table you'd like and if you go later, it's standing room only but very lively and worth the squish. Don't for get to read the quotes...my favorite - "the Irish ignore anything they can't drink" it may also say eat...but...
I think we'll go there this weekend!!

I've been dragged here a handful of times. And I have to admit it's not all that bad. Especially if your into bars and that type of atmosphere.
So how did my night go? I came here and entered into a mob of dancing people, got yelled in the face "woo hoo" and then pushed my way through to the bar. The guy that yelled at me before came over for a chat, the people are definitely friendly. I was a bit disappointed that they don't have a drink menu so I wasn't sure what to order.
Went to a movie, then came back afterwards. Things had completely changed, the environment had slowed down. Couples to the right, DJ to the left. A few dancers at this time, I guess the mob moved on and it was quieter. The food was good bar food, nice and greasy, not the place to go if you're on a diet. The waitress was great and recommended a delicious fruity cocktail that I loved. I'm sure I'll be back. (But for some reason I still prefer Sunset Tavern!)

Wow, by far the very BEST Irish pub in Florida. Trying to find a true authentic Irish pub in twelve different states that I lived is very hard. Other than maybe Chicago. :) Chicago river = green for St. Patty's Day!!! (nothing like it)
Came here around 3 O' Clock this afternoon. Hubby and I did not eat lunch so I grabbed my phone and said there are a few places on yelp that I have bookmarked that I want to try. So we drove over and glad we did. The inside is so cool, old world style, comfy, cozy, love the bar area. (especially the hooks on the bar for ladies purses )
My favorite part of the decor was the quotes written on the walls....loved them all. Hubby kept talking and I was not wanting to be bothered, was to busy reading. lol
I ordered the Fish and Chips.....as I am not a fried kind of girl, but every now and then I get a taste to soak up all the alcohol from the 4th. The fish was huge, nicely battered, not to much, and the fries..yum so good and very big as well. Fish was crispy, flaky, moist, and very tasty. The homemade tartar sauce was the best ever. Cole Slaw was very good also.
Hubby had the Corn Beef Sliders, he's Italian and does not like sauerkraut to much so he got it on the side. So ha I ate it....Just like grandma's polish sauerkraut.....
We both shared our food, due to curiosity and we both enjoyed each other's dish.
The waitress was friendly. The bathrooms were cool with the writting on the walls about happy hour specials and so on...Funny....very cool.
I am not a big beer drinker, but that does not matter. The service, food, and atmosphere is excellent, so I can not wait to go back during a late evening for some food and fun. Tried the mimosa, awesome!
Oh we also had onion rings, big, tasty, and the best marinara sauce.
Fun, cool place, perfect for a fun laid back evening, great to go with friends.....kudos to the pub.....
I will be there next year for St. Patty's Day....please put me down.....
Great place.....:)

Besides the fact the beer is good here. Besides the fact the patrons are down to earth. Besides the fact the people who come are friendly. Besides the fact the food isn't half-bad. AND besides the fact they have a nice jukebox, I hate this place.
By that I mean I like it.

This is one of my favorite eateries in Miami. I have had the Bangers & Mash, which is 2-3 sausages, with caramelized onions, mashed potatoes, and an amazing gravy to drizzle over everything. The curry fries are a must try for anyone who lives in Miami, amazing. My wife has ordered the Fish and Chips, which is a crispy huge plank of fish, perfectly fried. Homepage tarter sauce that I dunk my fries into. If my wife orders the fish we get a side of the curry sauce to dunk her fries into.
The bartenders and staff are very nice and the place is very comfortable. I have noticed many people who seem to be regulars. Irish times seems to really have brought the Pub culture to Miami.

I can't lie. I've been putting off writing this review for a long time, knowing that when the time came to put my fingers to the keyboard, no words would be generated that could even come close to expressing the absolute AWESOMENESS that is The Irish Times.
When deciding where to celebrate my 25th birthday, I gave a lot of consideration to a number of places that I had been to before and knew would not disappoint. So why then did I choose to make the 45 minute drive (and coerce my Broward friends into doing the same) to South Miami? Well, the answer to that question is quite simple: THE IRISH TIMES IS WHY!! With so many near perfect reviews and an incontestably marvelous reputation, why wouldn't I want to be amidst the Irish Times glory as I rang in my big 2-5?
I can't say enough how impressed I was with the overall experience of The Irish Times. What instantly becomes obvious as you walk in the door is the love and personality that no doubt went into designing the interior of the place. From the quotes on the wall to the large space surrounding the bar (the main event, as it should be at an Irish bar!), it's very clear that the faaaaaaabulous masterminds behind this operation had the comfort of their guests in mind when making their dream of opening an Irish bar in Miami a reality. The beers were perfectly poured and the bartenders were warm and attentive. What more could I have asked for on my big day than a beer in hand and a smile on my face? Oh, and did I mention the Mega-Touch machine in the back corner? BONUS!!!!!!!!!!!
I could continue rambling, but I'll stop here and wrap this review up with a little limmerick (not the smutty kind, cuz I care about my yelputation):
There once was a bar, Irish Times
Thank goodness this second line rhymes!
The beer keeps a'flowing
And everyone's knowing
Good times here you surely will find!

I wanted to review this place before but waited until I came as a 'civvie. Hands down and by far the best Irish Pub in SoFla. Is it owned by an Irishman? Why, yes it is! No posers here! So you know the Guinness is cold, the food hot and the futbol and rugby abundant on the TVs. The owner David is always making sure his patrons are happy.. and like I said how CAN you go wrong with cold Guinness? Yes, I am a fan.
The food is 100% authentic with no 'American' twist. I have had the Shepherds Pie, Bangers n Mash, its all good! I need to try the Irish Stew George is raving about and some Fish n Chips, but so far everything I have had is delicious.
On Saturday nights they have a DJ and the bar is hopping, its a great hangout if you want some good tunes and good beer. By the way the DJ IS GREAT!!
I am curious as how Troy with the bad review could have been here 2 years ago, since they opened ONE year ago, but hey, to each his own drunken recollections!
All in all, good food, good service and they can throw one HELL of an awesome St. Patty's day Party..

After all the reviews I read, I couldn't WAIT to go to The Irish Times! I honestly don't know why I hadn't been here before, this place is awesome!
From the moment we walked in the service was awesome! We sat down and BOOM the waitress appeared, much like a genie, to take our order. We ordered the Irish Times beer, their own beer to be more clear. It was amazing. Although I wish they would've had Killians on tap because I really love Killians. Their beer made up for it, however.
We ordered a series of appetizers. The onion rings, which, as per my friend Holly "are not too greasy and have just the right amount of crispiness". She was right. We all agreed, they were probably the best onion rings we had ever tasted.
We also ordered the fries with the curry dipping sauce. Awesome fries! We also had the potato skins which were delicious! The last thing we had were the chicken sliders. These were good, but I wish the chicken would've been grilled instead of fried. Nonetheless, the portions were huge and easily fed three of us.
I loved the decor and feel of the place. So casual and just perfect for hanging out and drinking some beers with friends. We really enjoyed the music as well.
I cannot wait to come back here again.

I just stumbled upon my notes about this place and decided it is about time that I sit down and write my review-
As a fan of Irish beer, this place already has me at the door, I also like to get a bit more global perspective of the world of sports, and I can always come here and get my fix of international football leagues.
But the most important part comes to the service. Now I happen to have some pretty cool inside information about the peeps that own and run this place, and I can tell you that their pour their heart into it. You could almost safely assume the same thing about all eating establishments, after all, it is a very tough business to be in- but the difference is that here it is evident.
Consistently giving good service and serving good food with a cold Irish Brew - this is my slice of heaven in Miami paradise !! Life is good .. in the Irish Times.

Woo Sooo happy i was able to finally able to go out to irish times. My friend's sister practically lives here, and since he and i had never been we decided to go and invite some friends.
I was DD so i didn't get to enjoy much alcohol, but i enjoyed a Killians, and my friend enjoyed a little bit of everything else. As for food I had a bite of the chicken tenders, some fries and a slider, all so very good.
The only thing that was odd was our server who was very attentive in the beginning, disappeared half way through. After a long while we started wondering and then another server came by asking if we needed and help and who our server was. We told her and told us that she wouldnt be coming back since she smashed her hand earlier in the evening! we all hope she's ok but wish they would have told us sooner. And i guess because of the change of server our bills were all mixed up.
Only 2 single toilet restrooms, which can become problematic if you hold it too long since i did see lines forming.
All that aside i had a great time with my friends at Irish times. I guess thats what its all about right?
I def will be going back

whenever i go to an english, german or irish pub, i look at the beer selection on tap, followed by the complete selection of beers and then i order the fish and chips.
this idiosyncrasy was disrupted when i entered this establishment. it was a humid miami day and there were maybe four people at the bar (one was actually irish!) and a couple in a booth (not irish). they were actually showing footy on the tv's. 'a fluke' i thought to myself. then i sat down and looked at the beers on tap. kelly's was the first one. kelly's. do you know how difficult it is to find this in a bar, let alone on tap? 'bah, beginner's luck" i thought.
i went ahead and ordered my fish and chips, a pint of kelly's and watched footy. the bartender, jo, was very friendly and immediately brought over the kelly's, condiments and the vinegar. most places bring you ketchup (for the chips, i guess?) and have no idea that the proper protocol is to serve with malt vinegar.
i digress: a few minutes later a cook emerges with a plate with a generous portion of beer battered fish, on a mound of golden chips with a side of cole slaw, or as my friend used to call it, 'food from the devil's garden'. i cannot stress how important it was that i recognized the actual fish as it made it's way to me. most places prepare something that mildly resembles fish, both in appearance and in flavor. this was an actual piece of fish. and when you forked it, the consistency was perfect.
i asked for a refill and got to work on this masterpiece. it was brilliant. the meat was the perfect shade of white, the texture was not too spongy, not too firm. just perfect. the chips were delicious and plentiful and the cole slaw was sweet, creamy and crunchy.
as i finished my meal, a rugby match began. i looked around in awe of this perfect situation, it dawned on me that i should probably go home and blow my brains out, as it doesn't get much better than this. instead, i went back the next day and repeated the ritual.
brilliant.

What can I say other than if you are looking for an authentic Irish Pub don't head to The Irish Times. We stopped by one Thursday night looking to grab a beer and relax and what we found was a bar that looked manufactured and lacked any authenticity as if it was trying to look like an Irish Pub. This is a type of suburbia mass produced bar that can be found more readily in Dublin, Ohio than Dublin, Ireland. Now this might seem trivial but when your bar looks like its trying to be Irish and Jameson isn't served in the place then something is very wrong.
The staff seemed uninterested in working, the bartender was nice enough, although not very attentive, but it was definitely a one beer and out experience. Definitely better spots for a pint in Sunset Place

I thank Maria for taking me in here!
The salad was bigger than I expected and couldn't finish it.. lol, I'll think twice about the salad before ordering anything else because I felt bad for not taking it home. I did, though, have to take the Irish Times platter to go, which was a definite great choice (a whole bunch on a plate)! Maria showed me what were on the TV's, which I wasn't paying attention at first and realized that they were from Ireland or Britain.
Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant to talk to. I'm really mad at myself for not remembering her name now, but she's the one with the reddish hair (I don't think she's the only one?). I also ordered two Banana vodka drinks along while eating. Each time before she brought the drinks, she asked me if it was too strong or had any strangeness at all. That's what I call, a good communication between the person in the restaurant business and the customer. She was totally cool about it!
I almost forgot my take home dinner when Maria and I were going back into the garage. She said, "Go back and it will be there. Trust me." I went with her decision, and dragged myself back in there. It was there waiting for me. I thanked our waitress and left again the restaurant with a big smile on my face. :)

Great Irish Bar in the Heart of South Miami!
Why?
1.) Fantastic Irish beer selection- This past Saturday when I went I wish the beer would've been a little bit colder, but being that Irish Times was so full, I am sure it was hard to keep the temperatures of the draft beers down with all the puring that was going on!
2.) Fantastic Fish and Chips- I am always on the hunt for a good fish n chips, The Fish N Chips here are definitely not the cheesy Gordon Fisherman type...they are about as authentic as you can get here in Miami and I love that!
3.) Great vibe!- Good music is always playing at Irish Times, this past Saturday it just so happeend to be a live band. Well not band band...it was just two guys, but they were so good they could've been a whole band! They were playing rock songs from Sublime, U2, Bon Jovi, etc. and everyone was singing along. I hope they are there often, it was a great/fun touch!
4.) Pretty decent prices--you're paycheck won't go from $$$ to $ here!
Happy Hour here is good too! 1/2 off draft beers, and some inexpensive, but good appetizers available too for happy hour! Regular drafts and meals here are well priced too.
5.) No smoking indoors, which means you go home smelling a-ok (unless you spill beer on yourself or something)
I have yet to find fault with this place, if I do, I'll let you know!

The Irish Times
Ah, what can be said about The Irish Times
In so little space, with such a few rhymes?
Turn eastward on Sunset, right from US-1
Park in the big garage, cross the street, you're done.
Use the corner entrance to lurk through the vibe
You'll have walked by windows and seen who's inside.
If Simon's there, he'll be the first to say hi,
And offer a Car Bomb with sparks in his eye.
Perhaps sexy Erika will flash you a smile,
"How you doing, baby? Just sit for a while"
Or one of the Davids will be there that night,
A Snakebite or Jaeger will start the night right.
The jukebox be jammin all night at full tilt.
And Higgy may saunter in wearing a kilt,
And Rhino will treat you like you were a king.
The trident on the wall's a family thing.
The food is outstanding. Do check out the menu.
Better than expected out of a bar venue.
Try the mini-burgers or the chicken curry,
If portion's important, then you mustn't worry.
For the sports enthusiasts, as Guiness's decanting,
From rugby to football they will not leave wanting.
Selectively placed are flat screens galore,
Just lift up your eyes to check out the score.
It's one of those places of idyllic feel,
Where moods are relaxed, and people are real.
Where Captain, the bouncer, is quick to say "howdy"
And kick your arse out if you get too rowdy.
Within a few weeks, you'll know well the game
And come to the place where all know your name.
With a 5 a.m. license, it's a late-night hit,
You asked for my review, and this has been it.

I'd heard a lot about the Irish Times so when I found out they had a good happy hour I decided to stop by and check it out and I'm happy to report that I was blown away.
First off parking around the corner in the new garage was a breeze. The bar itself is adorable and comfy. There are great quotes written across the top. Since I got there before the rest of my group I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was cool and laid back and has a great Irish accent. I also decided to load up the juke box with tunes to keep company. Nothing like great music in a cool bar.
Now that I was settled in with my music and some small talk with the bartender I decided it was time to peruse the menu. I settled on mussels and mac-n-cheese. The mac came with a pleasant surprise side of huge log like fries. The generous serving of mussels was warm and delicious. Once my friends arrived they ordered potato skins and those were equally good.
Ah Irish Times you make me smile. I now have a new favorite place to go for a great atmosphere, fantastic service, ridiculously tasty food, and an overall genuine charm. This is the perfect neighborhood bar.
In fact I loved it so much I went back at the end of the night. And let me tell you it's a good place to start and end any night out.

I came with a crew of hungry yelpers after watching a movie at Sunset Place. The place was fairly empty which so we were able to grab four tables together and start making some noise.
chatter chatter everywhere, the waitress took our order of drinks. I once again had the house chardonnay - I'm not much for wine, but I like it here. Undecided in what I'd have for dinner, I was in between the mac & cheese, or any of the three varieties of sliders. I let the waitress choose for me and surprise me. Emilio ordered the bangers and mash, and though he said they were good, he also said they weren't great, plus the serving size was a bit too small for him, as he ended up eating half my food. My food, which unfortunately, was the last plate to come out - :-( - even after other people who ordered after me were already past half their meal. This is really what's making this place loose a star -the waitress brought me the burger sliders - which were good - but it took for ever, and I was starving. Another bad note - everyone got their food in separate spurts (which I guess makes me getting my food last good, b/c I'm the type to wait for everyone to get their plate - I would have hated my food to get cold).
In all the food was good, the service was - eh, okay - but the night with the yelpers over all was good. Which influences this restaurants rating to stay at 4 stars. Next time I come, good times and drinks only - where they never go wrong!

This place is on point. Went there for a dolphin game. Had the calamari and the steamed mussells as recomended by the chef. I never had mussells before, but hese were excellent. Richard, the bar manager, was very helpful and will keep you entertained. He even told us who Bobby Sands was. This is as Irish as it gets, we loved it

Nice atmosphere, good food, great location and friends.
How does this get better?
Walking in to the Rolling Stones playing on the juke box.
They didn't over theme the place; it is first and foremost a bar. It just has little touches that make it feel Irish.
The food that my friends and I tried:
The mussels were really good & garlicy.
The french fries weren't really very french. They were more like potato sticks. Who has more right to the potato than the Irish?
On that note, the potato skins were really good too. And flippin' huge. Could have used some bacon pieces though.
I'm currently pregnant so dunno about the drinks. Service was friendly and quick.

Great place to go hang out with friends and have a few drinks. I've never eaten there personally, but I hear the appetizers are pretty great. The prices are very reasonable and the music is very enjoyable; if you don't like it, you can pay to change the Juke Box selection. Just one suggestion: Watch out for waitresses with attitude and weird occurrences in the bathrooms...
I prefer to go during the weekdays just beacuse Fridays and Saturdays in S. Miami get packed. The parking garage is great, but not when they have a $7 flat rate enforced (Friday and Sat evening). Try to stick to Thursday evenin

I like this place for a few reasons:
- It's close to my crib in South Miami so that's means I can take a cab.
- They have Smithwicks on tap which is one of favorite ales.
- They have a Digital Juke box.
As long as none of the Kendall thugs throw on the Reggaeton or Birdman garbage, Irish Times is a fun and clean place to get trashed!

this was my second visit to Irish Times and I'm really glad I gave it another try. the first time I went I was disappointed in the service (the food for the group came out at very staggered times) and the food (which was blander then I'd hoped). but when the yelpers suggested we go again after a movie, I said sure.
we started with drinks and I decided to give the house brew, Wizzard, a try. it's a pale ale and is light and yummy and not too hoppy - perfect pairing with my meal. this time I figured I'd give an authentic dish a try, something they'd likely specialize in and be good at....can't go wrong with fish and chips right? right!!
I was worried about portion size as it was kind of late...and was assured that it was a decent size, nothing too outlandish (ahem, you know who you are!). well, when the dish came out, what was on the plate resembled a lightly breaded and fried entire fish (!) larger then my forearm!! lucky for me it was absolutely delicious - although I couldn't eat it all - and the chips were tasty, as usual. everyone else really seemed to enjoy their food which included corned beef sliders, regular beef sliders, mac n' cheese and more.
the service was not bad considering we had a party of 14 or so all together and redeemed the previous experience I had. no one graced us with a karaoke performance this time (despite many attempts to make it happen), but a good time was still had by all. I definitely see repeat visits here with yelpers in my future!

My husband and I went to Irish Times, this past weekend, after hearing great reviews. Our waitress was friendly and service was good, however, we will not return. First, my husband ordered a cup of the soup of the day, New England Clam Chowder. They brought him a bowl of a soup with a red tomato base. No crackers, bread, nothing.
When we asked where is the New England Clam Chowder, the waitress said," that's it", she couldn't tell the difference or see that it was not.
Then he ordered a sausage plate, very small portions, the baked beans were terrible. At the end, on the menu, they say, dessert of the day. Well they have no dessert of the day only, vanilla ice cream with
Bailey's Irish Cream and Irish coffee. The ice cream was $6.95, the Irish coffee, $10.00. Very expensive for a bowl of soup $5.50, that wasn't very good and for the dessert and coffee. We spent $74.00 for a very unsatisfying meal. Next time we'll go to John Martin's in the Gables.
The Irish Times is a fairly new spot, so it doesn't have that old bar smell, which is a good thing! Trust me on this : )
They've got a good selection of beer and a VERY good selection of Irish grub on the menu. Right away I was impressed with the Irish sausage. The sweet/savory flavor just jumped right out at me.
AND... the bar is actually run by a real Irish couple. 'No way, Marcos!'
"Way, Dude... way"

The Irish Times is as good as gold and should have it's own rainbow.
SmithWicks, the best Bangers and Mash and a cool bar. Having tried a few of their dishes, Irish food lovers will be able to tell that a great effort has been made to make their food traditional and very tasty.
Cannot wait for the Irish Breakfast!
Summary: Cold Beer, Fantastic Food, Cool People, Pleasant Atmosphere and a Great Location

Want the ambiance of a genuine Euro pub? Then lads you've gotta check out Irish Times. As soon you set foot into this 'oh so cool little pub' you will all together forget you are in South Miami.
Dim lights, dark wood galore, and bartender with foreign accent are included. Generous portions packed with flavor. Their Shepherds Pie is a must have, and it's big enough to share. Great selection of beers...they had me at Magners and Strongbow!!
Sticking true to their Euro style, service is not their forte. On the bright side, if you're looking for a hangout sans annoying waiters, this is your pot of gold. That was cheesy I know, but I couldn't help my self :)
Oh yeah, they're also open until 4 am. Always good to know.

Irish Pubs sometimes come with a dark & dirty atmosphere but this place is the exact opposite. Being in the heart of South Miami this Irish pub offers the delights and enjoyment of drinking with the sensibility and restraint of a regular family restaurant. I had the mini burgers and oh man was this something I had been searching for! Good mini burgers are so hard to find, the fries that acompany the meal are so beefy & perfectly seasoned. Only issue was, what's with the single toilet restroom?

In a word, YUMMYYYYYYY!!! Went here on a Sunday at 6:00pm for an early supper. They had happy hour until 7:00pm with 2 for 1 drinks. That made me happy! The place was nearly empty, but after reading the reviews on here I did not let that deter us. The onion rings were good, especially with the dipping sauce. Not the best I've ever had but definitely good. I ordered Bangers and Mash. The best part was the Mash with gravy, so heavenly!! My date had the Shepard's Pie, which was well seasoned and absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are good, not huge but definitely enough, and the prices are very reasonable especially considering the quality of the food. Strange to have curry on the menu though. The ambiance is nice, clean, friendly... I would definitely go here again in a heartbeat! It's the perfect place for some late night dining, the food will make your alcohol filled tummy very happy!
