Probably the best burger fix in Juneau, and that is not saying much given the limited choices this isolated town offers for burgers.

Honestly, I'm not too impressed with The Hot Bite.  While their burger's patties had a fresh, genuine taste (especially the all-natural buffalo burger), the burger overall was average.  And for the price they charge for a burger, one would expect fries (and maybe a drink) to come with it.  Not here.  Get your fries (or onion rings) and drink (milkshakes are worth trying) and the bill can run up to around $20/head.

Their fish and chips is three-star, but not the best in Juneau.  It's because I've been spoiled with panko-breaded halibut.  The bits of fish (halibut?) are deep fried in batter (tempura mix?) and served with tartar sauce.  The fish and chips could have been less greasy.

Their seafood chowder is okay, and is one I would recommend for one in the mood for chowder.  It has more of a watery than creamy consistency while retaining the appearance of New England style chowder.  Large chunks of potatoes and seafood are a nice touch.

Outdoor patio seating is a great option on a warm, sunny day, if you're into that stuff.  Otherwise, a small indoor dining area with warm tones and fairly comfortable seats is another option.

A nice place to grab some lunch before heading out and about in the Juneau area.  Located at the Auke Bay marina in a pink shack.  You can buy some live Dungie crabs while you're there.

A big con, is that it caters to those who can afford the boats in the marina and to tourists and is therefore rather expensive for a burger and shake joint.  Granted, Juneau is expensive in general, but the prices here were enough to make my visiting relatives' do a double take.  Still, the food quality is nice and you can walk here fairly easily if you are fresh off the Alaska Marine Highway boats.  As a former Juneau local, it was nice to chat it up with some tourists from around the world while having a good lunch.

BTW, kettle chips are served with sandwiches rather than fries.

This joint is run by a bunch of teenagers that do not know the meaning of customer service or multi-tasking. They left our chilli cheese fries on the counter with out calling out our name for 30 minutes and when we finally asked about our order they said oh you said your name was Lori, lol for real I don't know my own name, wow how did I get this far in life. They are known for their shakes which were a HUGE dissappointment. For any shakes that include chocolate rather than the real thing they use chocolate syrup yuck! Plus prices and wait time suck! Needless to say nothing impressed me and I would NEVER go back again.

REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER MILKSHAKE!  Drive here as fast as you can and order this.  They make them fresh with real ice cream.  Soooo good.

We also had the chowder and the popcorn shrimp.  The chowder was above average, and the popcorn shrimp was average.  Seats inside and out.  They also sell fresh caught dungeness crab.  They were bigger than my head, and sooo very tasty.
