Neighborhood: NortheastMy younger sister and I had a delightful high tea at the Holiday Chalet. The Chalet is a B&B decorated in the true Victorian fashion; the china is beautiful and was hand painted by the original owner; Ida Lindsey. The finger sandwiches and pastries were so fresh; you could tell they were made that morning.
The Chalet was having a slow day as the whole B&B had been booked by a film crew, so Crystal the owner waited on us. She is just delightful, giving us a history lesson and a little tour of the Chalet. This is a great place to have an unassuming, quiet afternoon tea.

This is a really charming B&B on Colfax Ave. They have a really nice breakfast as well as midnight snacks. The rooms are beautiful. The place was built in 1912, the same year as my old house in San Francisco and I liked that. Definitely charming. Crystal the owner was very sweet. I have to take one star off because the heat went of in the middle of the night.

This is the place to stay if you want a central location, comfortable bed, and wonderful breakfast with a smile. There is a great aura and feeling about this place and when I stayed here, I could not help but feel warm and welcome. Crystal, the owner is such a nice person and really makes you feel like you are walking into a family home at Christmas time. Highly recommended for any stay in Denver!
Adorable. Welcoming. Friendly. Clean.
A touch of history in the middle of the glory (read that as a bit seedy) that is Colfax Street. This hotel is a restored Victorian brownstone originally built in 1896.
The staff are very professional and attentive. I can't speak for their breakfast but I can't imagine it to be anything less than perfectly tasty...based on my experience as a whole.
The room rates are reasonable - comparatively speaking.
If you're in the Denver area and are looking for a place to stay, I'd recommend The Holiday Chalet.

I am so not a B&B person and this was my first one. What a treat! I will stay here again. Crystal Sharp, the proprietor, is yound and hip - not what you would expect . I usually go for the modernist hotels that are minimal and who would have thought I would have like this so much. Great breakfast, interesting guests and an adorable dog too. It made my trip to Denver.
