Built in 1810 by Stephen Hopkins Smith for a woman he wanted to marry. She rejected him and he lived as a bachelor.  The tour I went on was given by a woman in period costuem and was very interesting and informative.  I enjoyed it and learned a lot.  Great place for kids.
