Who doesn't like to walk into a store and try many different hats? And what's the point in trying on different hats if you are not going to take pictures of yourself? I don't know because for some reason I didn't do it but next time I will. Maybe I will buy one.

This is a must go when I make it to the town of worth. This is one of those places that has never lost the magic. And now they encourage you to take pictures in random hats and post them to a common place. What a fantastic idea! Thanks hat shop, you remain a favorite.

Is it worth it to wait in a line for a hat?  A hat that seems like a good idea when you are drunk.  A hat that you will only wear once a year if you even remember you have it in your closet.  I guess that sort of sums up this store.

It's small, it's cute, it's charming.  Of course they carry regular hats that you can wear everyday but people come here for the strange and hard to find hats.  I was tempted by the nice variety but really didn't have a use for anything.  A little too pricey for a silly Halloween hat and I'm just not a hat person.

Having a person guarding the store and only allowing in a small number of people also does rub me the wrong way.  I understand the whole idea of only letting in what the store can handle but it's just obnoxious.  And the people in the store are taking a while trying on everything they see while drunk.  I guess this is a bad place to visit when there is a festival.  But that's probably the only reason you would be here anyway.

I went once, that's enough.

*****************
Very cool that the owner wrote me and maybe I will venture in on a regular day.

"Thanks for the feedback!  Indeed, our shop is a "crazy" place to be six days of the year.  We would love to get your impression of our shop during a "regular" business day the next time you are in town on a non-festival day.

Thanks - Kevin"

Leavenworth is filled with shops selling overpriced dust-collectors.

However, at the Hat Shop, if you are really in the mood to spend money on something you didn't need, you can at least walk out of here with a conversation piece that will minimize the likelihood of you contracting cancer on that creeping bald spot on top of your head.

Truly some unique hats.  If there wares were shoes, Imelda Marcos would have put up permanent residence here.

It's the first Friday of October and you are in Leavenworth.  The following day is the first Saturday of the month long celebration that is Oktoberfest and you need something to put on your noggin to celebrate.

Where do you go?

You go to The Hat Shop, of course.  Actually, to be more accurate, you go to the line outside of said shop and wait while the bouncer at the door maintains the flow of what might be the smallest shop in Leavenworth.  And for a town full of little nooks and crannies, that's saying something.

I finally made it in and bought my (traditional German) hat, and I'm glad I did - I got more compliments on it that weekend.  I'm looking forward to going back next year to get some more pins for it!

And maybe a feather.

...or maybe I'll look for that giant pope hat...

No matter who you've come to Leavenworth with, they'll enjoy the hat shop.  They just won't always let you take pictures.

The shop is small, but the people are nice, it's neatly organized, and it took over a half-hour for me to start feeling claustrophobic.  Even Boyfriend, who is a notorious stick in the mud, had a great time.

Kids and adults alike will enjoy the hat shop, for both browsing and buying.  My mom has even made a Christmas tradition out of it: every year we get new hats!

This place encourages you to try on hats! How fun is that? Also to take silly pictures of yourself and upload it to their website... I thought that was pretty cool! The Medusa hat was my favorite!

Have you ever seen a bouncer at a hat store? Well, there's one at The Hat Shop in Leavenworth. This place is so popular they've had to adopt a one in, one out policy. There's a chain at the entrance and sometimes the line is up to 20 people deep!

But it's worth the wait because this store has every single hat you could ever want to wear or just try on. I headed straight for the Bavarian hats, but was quickly ordered by my friend to try on a huge Pimp hat covered in silver sequins, a fuzzy bumble bee hat, a random cap with mulit-colored horns protruding from the top, a clownfish hat, and many more. He was going to buy a King Tut hat, but then changed his mind and went for the Willy Wonka hat.

All over Leavenworth, people proudly wear their purchases from The Hat Shop. This year's favorites were the Viking hats and a "chicken in lederhosen, drinking a beer hat".

Seriously, stop in here when you're in town. It is a blast.

One of our usual stops in Leavenworth. Try on silly hats, venture into the toy shop next door to laugh and drool over the many things they have. But the hat store has something for everyone. I found a hat in replace of a bandana for camping here and I LOVE it. This is a great place to plan your halloween costume. Not just hats- all sorts of weird sunglesses, costumes, and other accessories.

From my time in the store, I found they  had a good selection of hats and decent prices as well. I didn't buy any because I was conserving the thickness of my wallet at the time, but I plan to get a hat next time I'm there.

The Hat Shop is a cute and fun entertaining shop in Leavenworth.  If you're looking for any kind of hat The Hat Shop will have it.  A hat with a birthday cake on it, they have it.  A hat with pony tails, they have it.  A Viking hat, they have it.  A chicken hat, they have it.  A knit cap to keep your head warm, they have it.  A beret, they have it.  A fedora, they have them too.  Go in have fun try a bunch of hats on I'm sure you'll find one you love I sure did.

There were so many different hats!  It's a great fun shop while walking around Leavenworth to pop into and pick up something fun to wear around.
