Today, we celebrated a birthday and I had the 3 course menu.  I started out with a Perfect Peach Martini that was pretty good.

I had Crab Cakes as an appetizer and they were very good.  As with what other people are saying, it consists mostly of crab meat. Its fresh and yummy with a squeeze of lemon juice and their sauce.

I had Bleu Cheese Crusted Petite Filet Mignon with Spinach Mash Potatoes.  This was very good as well.  I ordered it medium rare and it was so tender and yummy.  The Spinach Mash Potatoes were good as well.

For the third option, you had a choice of wine or dessert. I chose a glass of Riesling.  I tried the brownie ala mode and it was so yummy.  The brownie was very good. The caramel chocolate sauce that they drizzled on top of the pecan was super yummy.  I can eat it like candy.

Overall, I really liked this restaurant and would definitely go back.  Service was pretty good.  Its just kind of expensive.  My portion plus a 1/15 of the birthday gal was $70.

Ordered the Skirt Steak Salad and a glass of Sauvignon Blanc here last Mon night.  The wine never came.  And the steak on the salad was tough and chewy.  The salad was just iceberg lettuce with onions and it SWIMMING in some godawful stinky cheese dressing.

My friend ordered the Lobster Bisque which had the consistency of wallpaper paste.

45 mins and SEVENTY F-IN DOLLARS LATER!  We were left with 2 half eaten salads, crap soup, and no f-in drinks!

SKIP THIS PLACE!

Another stop on the DineLA train for me.  I went here on a Friday night with 2 girlfriends.  The restaurant was not too crowded (a welcome surprise for a restaurant at Hollywood & Highland) and the staff was very friendly.  My friends were a bit late, so I sat at the table waiting and unlike some restaurants in Hollywood, no one gave me any grief about my late friends.

First and foremost, the bread is delicious.  Hot and crispy, the sourdough they gave us was amazing.  It came with the option of butter, olive oil and a dish of marinated vegetables.  Yum!

For the appetizer, I tried the crab cake.  It was very good, not bready at all.  I hate when you get a crab cake and it is mostly made up of breadcrumbs.  I was very satisfied.  My friends ordered the lobster bisque-  I tasted it and it was mediocre- no actual lobster in the bisque.

There was a fourth entree option that was not listed on the DineLA website- a prime rib with a baked potato and creamed spinach.  One of my friends opted for this.  My other friend and I could not decide, so we split the prime rib and also the filet mignon (with crab leg).  Our entrees were very good.  Exactly what you would expect from a steak house.  The portions were generous as well.

Even though we were stuffed, we continued on to dessert.  We had a choice of all of the dessert options on the menu.  We chose the Strawberry Shortcake, the Warm Brownie Sundae and the Key Lime Pie.  The Strawberry Shortcake was phenomenal- with fresh strawberries and whipped cream and instead of pound cake, they use a biscuit.  It was very good.  The Warm Brownie was phenomenal.  With a heaping dollop of vanilla bean ice cream, drowning in hot fudge and caramel and with candied pecans.  I have never been a fan of Key Lime Pie, but this one was good.  It was light and tart and had a delicious graham cracker crust.

Overall, the dining experience was very good.  We definitely felt like we had gotten our money's worth, which in this economy is of the utmost importance.  I am not sure I would return to the restaurant to pay the full menu price, but for DineLA, it was a great option.

The Grill is fine and sure beats the Food Court that is in the Hollywood & Highland Center but I wouldn't say it is fantastic.

Both the food and drinks are way overpriced for what you get, and even may be overpriced for Hollywood. The Happy Hour from 4-7 had decent prices on apps, wine, well drinks, and beer.

I had a Grill Chopped Salad and the side of mac & cheese. The Chopped Salad definitely has been made better there before. The mac & cheese was good. The two combined was enough for a meal for me. My friend had the grilled herb chicken, again, it was fine but he wasn't raving about it. It came with spinach and grilled veg, kind of random there was no starch on the plate. He also ordered a side of mashed potatoes, which, again, was good but not fantastic.

Definitely a more upscale place than the typical tourist places around Hollywood. It's on the 4th floor so inside it's quiet but outside can get a little loud.

The Grill validates the parking, which helps to subsidize.

I'll continue to come back since it's not bad, decent location, and it's not food court Chinese food.

If you are local DEFINITELY skip this place. The ambiance is really all this place has going for it. I recommend you go for a cocktail and maybe the bread basket. The prices are high and the food is good, but nothing special or out of this world. You only live once so you might as well walk down the blvd to Beso for better food, service, and ambiance.

This review is for afternoon drinks and regular dining.  This is our dinner place after seeing a flick at El Capitan.  Usually we hit up the bar with an appetizer before the movie (to put up with walking through the crowds to get to the cinema).  Page is a great bartender and we've been lucky to have him quite a few times.  After the movie, we hoof back to the resturant for a nice quiet meal together.

The servers are attentive and fun and the food has always been fantastic.  We typically have a full meal, including dessert.  I eat mostly steak or chicken and haven't been disappointed yet.  Portions are good and there's plenty of yummy bread.  Wish they had more beer options.  In wine they have a nice selection which in any case keeps my wine-snob partner happy.

Not near as sweet to the touch as the grill on the alley beverly hills -No celeb appeal and its a bit marie calanderish--however every thing is prepared fine-upscale standards but lacks the appeal being in an outdoor mall --go for the steaks and you will not be sad

Once again, another Hollywood and Highland dining/lushing establishment. After years of not having the proper amount of motivation to stop by, I finally did so several weeks ago.

Tuesday afternoon lunch out on the patio, overlooking children running through the water spurts in the center of the courtyard.

Service was prompt and attentive, very much no nonsense in terms of wasting time doing who knows what while people wait for their order. Once my plate was empty and set it aside, someone came by to pick up and that's fine by me. The prices were reasonable and anyone who might complain about that, well, watch what you order!

In the Old Fashioned Department: Good stuff!! I actually ordered a second one. You can tell that whoever was working the bar that afternoon was on their game (or in a great mood) because the cherries were muddled just right, the orange was fresh and once I hit the second half of the drink, it was the perfect combination of whiskey and fruit taste. It was damn good!

Definitely going to be a spot for a good drink if nothing else.

How many ways can I say yum?

Let me tell you, after a lotta walking up and down Hollywood boulevard, carrying bags o' vintage clothes - the Grill is like an oasis. It was a hot day so we sat inside...this was Saturday around 3 so the place was fairly empty.

First a palate cleanser...or, an adult beverage.....Adult beverage it is! I'll have the berry mojito, thank you very much. And, the man will have a beer. Why? Because my mojito was $14.00! It was tasty tho.

Next, a delicious serving of popcorn shrimp. And, really, there was nothing "popcorn" about this shrimp. You know how you get like shrimp bits, deep fried, from KFC? Well, these were...OMG... WHOLE SHRIMP and a light, delicate batter. Hello!

And, the piece-i-could-not-resist-ance.... the santa fe chicken wrap. We split this bad boy and it delivered. I am generally not a fan of wraps. As my 5 year old nephew might say, I really don't love wraps. But, this was DELICIOUS...and, oddly enough, cheaper than my mojito.

If you are in this locale, please go here instead of CPK. As Ferris would say, "It's so choice."

I came here with the company.  Honestly, it's not all that.  It's not bad, but really, there are plenty of places all over Hollywood that serves better food.  We were there on a Friday night and basically, we were the only ones there.

*Ambiance = kinda dull
*Food = OK
*Price = high for the food
*Service = could be better

I came here for a business lunch and we were seated outside on the patio for it was a warm and lovely day.

The interior of the place was very elegant and I could totally see myself sitting at the bar, knockin back some shots, fo sho. Will have to come back without my boss, though...

Our server was pretty hot. He looked like Sawyer from Lost and I normally don't go for that kind of look. He was definitely a struggling actor. Just had to be! But I digress...

I ordered a Chinese chicken salad. Seriosuly, I've had SO much better Chinese chicken salads at Pei Wei, Pick-Up Stix, Islands, CoCo's Bakery, you name it. Sooooo not worth the $16.75! What made it bad? Um, well, the dressing was overkilled with sesame oil and um, too many crunchy things, not enough chicken and greens, and well... that's about it. Chinese chicken salad isn't too difficult to screw up so you'd think a nice place like this couldn't eff it up but they did. I knew I should've order the shrimp and crab louie salad that someone else ordered cuz THAT looked boss!!

Everyone else's wraps of some sort looked boring. Drinks were always promptly refilled and Sawyer came back to check on us often, so service was good.

I'm not ruling this place out. I just think they need to pick up some tips from Islands on how to construct a good Chinese chicken salad. I'm sure their other food is good. I'll just stay away from the salads...

Went here for dinner with the wife order the prix fixe menu which consisted of Choice of Soup or Wedge, 1 of 4 Entrees, Desert or Glass of wine for 39.95
I ordered the Lobster Bisque which was pretty pedestrian and didn't have any lobster meat in it, just a creme soup. For the main course we both ordered the Fillet with Blue cheese top, The steak was done well and the cheese added some flavor but I was hoping to get a little more flavor from the steak since it was a fillet, but it was ordinary at best. The best part of the meal was the side of Grilled Asparagus which were nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. The desert was a huge slice of Key lime pie which was great.
In addition we ordered the Mac and Cheese, but as others have pointed out this wasn't a good option. It sounds great on the menu, but when you receive it it's just shells with a Velveeta like cheese and then the more expensive cheeses grated and bruleed on top. Skip this it's not worth the money.

All in all the place has a Nice ambiance, and wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable about GF but there are more interesting places to eat in Hollywood and I would skip this one unless you happen to be staying nearby and don't want to go far for dinner.

Tucked away in the tourist Mecca that is the Hollywood and Highland complex is this fairly upscale gem. It's a great and easy to get to (tons of underground parking) spot for all kinds of tasty stuff off the grill. Stop in here for burgers and beer and you won't be disappointed.

If I were to open up a steak house, it would look very similar to The Grille's interior. I am a big fan of dark wood and stark white tile and linens. Maybe its still new, or maybe it was because I was there on a Tuesday night, but other than our party of about 50, there was no one else there! I think that this place might be the newest hidden gem in Hollywood. Or maybe since its on the 4th floor, not many people make it up that high.

The staff is very courteous and professional, just like you would expect in a nice steak establishment. We were a demanding bunch, and they passed the test with flying colors!

I had the New York steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was thick and juicy and cooked to perfection.... medium-rare, just like I like it. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the broccoli was tender, but not mushy. The garden salad was a mix of baby greens, endive, sliced radishes, carrots, etc. I could have used a little extra dressing for my taste, but I won't rob them for a star because of it. I also tried a bit of the grilled salmon that my coworker ordered and it was pretty good. I'm not a salmon eater either. It was a HUGE piece of fish.

The drinks.... oh the drinks.... I hear the wine selection was pretty decent. I dont drink wine. Dont quote me on that. I drink vodka and a bit of tonic. They made me a Crioc and tonic with two limes that was to die for. So yummy.

All in all, a very pleasant experience.

I decided to eat at this restaurant for my birthday dinner because it was so close to the club we wanted to go to afterwards.

Well, this place was way too expensive for food that was mediocre. I read reviews before heading over, and I don't understand the hype about the mac n' cheese. First off, i think I would have preferred the one you can make from the box. And second, the mac n' cheese was WAY too cheesey. After the 2nd or 3rd bite, I felt too quesy to eat anymore.

Then I ordered the salmon plate. It was ok. My sister ordered pesto pasta with chicken. First off.. they cut the chicken so thin that you can barely see it in the pasta. We thought the chicken was missing when it arrived. Second, it was dry and it didn't taste good at all. I never thought anyone could ruin a pesto pasta, how can any dish go wrong with pesto?!

My friend ordered the pot pie and that thing is huge! But once again, it was whatever.

The only thing I liked was the complimentary bread and spread they give you. the spread was grilled vegetables mixed in some amazing sauce and that was definitely delectable! However, this place is way too pricey for the food you received. The environment was...it was sort of really dark and quiet too.

I don't think I'll ever come back here.

The Grill On the Alley - This place has good American food. Steak and chops and all the sides and desserts u can want. Very well cooked and very good tasting. I love this place. The prices are expensive, but its ok because the quality of food is very good. Love the buffalo mozzarella here. Location is great too... right on Hollywood and highland in the mall.

Yummy, yummy, yummy...I got Pesto in my tummy!

Went here on a Wednesday night before heading off to see Wicked.  We were told we need reservations...but when we arrived, there was a total of 4 people eating!  HA!

Anyway, I ordered the Penne Pesto Pasta w/ Chicken.  Delicious!  Too bad I hardly touched it since we polished of an entire appetizer of Spinach/Artichoke dip (fantastic).  Had a couple glasses of Pinot Gris and was feelin good!

The waitress gave us passes to take the shuttle over to the Pantages.  Worked out perfectly.  I recommend you do that if you have the opportunity.  Saves you at least 16 bucks and is VERY convenient.

Had a great evening.

The skirt steak is a divine ribbon of the most succulent meat.  The salt rubbed baked potato, the marinated peppers, steak tartare, cobb salad, a Shirley Temple - we always eat well here.  The dark woods, low lights, portraits and crisp linens create a very pleasant setting.  If you tear into your bread and peppers a little more savagely than usual, a waiter will scrap the crumbs off your table so you won't have to dine in your own mess.

What makes this branch of The Grill particularly palatable is that you're not going to be sandwiched between all the people in Los Angeles that make you fantasize about moving to Montana, like: skeletal hipster, bluetooth suit, bulbous breasts, off-the-menu vegan or sulky sunglasses.

Why? Tourist Hollywood is poison to the scene people.  You're going to be eating with well-to-do foreign tourists, happy theater goers and other relatively low key people - I've rarely seen The Grill at full, annoying capacity.

The Kodak center's parking dungeon is much easier to swallow than $11 valet or parallel parking.

For my birthday, my husband had decided that we should see Wicked  the Musical (again) since it was, of course, my all time FAVORITE musical seen. He went ahead and chose the dinner and show 'package' - What a deal!!!

The package included: Tickets to Wicked the Musical (Please see my Wicked review), Dinner, your choice out of the 5 listed restaurants:

*Twist
*The Grill on Hollywood
*Eat
*Geisha House
*Katsuya

and round trip tickets for shuttle service to and from The Pantages Theatre. Now my husband, he chose The Grill on Hollywood for location and food selection. What a great choice! The Grill on Hollywood is located along Hollywood Blvd. in the center of H and H.

Karen, our server was so kind and very  attentive. She made sure she had informed us of the day's specials and gave her recommendations as well. We decided on a couple of glasses of Riesling, the soup of the day, Prime Rib with a soft baked potato for him and the Salmon garnished with salsa accompanied with Creamed Spinach for myself. Last but not least, for dessert we decided on the Key Lime Pie which was overflowing with Creme which dazzled your heart's delight and Peach Cobbler topped with Vanilla creamy Ice Cream. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!

Oh my, what a way to a girl's heart. I highly recommend it!

This is a great place to grab a bite after realizing your feet are much larger than Frank Sinatra's.

Right off Hollywood's "Walk of Fame," I thought this place was called "The Grill on Hollywood," but regardless--great place!

Generous staff--and servings--are what stood out during my lunch there.  I had the French dip sandwich, which I enjoyed.  The fries were good too.

Great location, great atmosphere, great food.  What more could you want??

It's always fun to try something new especially when you're starving! I'm glad I glossed over the cheapie places like Baja Fresh or Johnnie (gag) Rockets.

The Grill is an upscale looking place that opens late even on Sunday (10pm). It's located inside the H&H (Hollywood & Highland) center which is the mecca for tourists. If you're a local, avoid it unless you're already there and looking for good food!

Walking in, I was already impressed by the fancy looking bar but I didn't partake in any liquor tastings. Sadly. Seating was quick and the waiter was on the ball with service. Water? Yes. Glug. Water? Yes!

The bread served was crap. It was dry and could be used to scrub the table clean. Maybe because it was the end of the day leftover bread. At least the marinated bell peppers and onions was tasty! I tried putting the good stuff on the bad stuff but that didn't improve the bad stuff.

I had special-of-the-day Halibut encrusted with Parmesan with a side of grilled summer veggies (red onions, zucchini, tomatoes & mushrooms). It was so good! I was practically licking my plate! Also it complimented my Riesling wine. Mmm...boooze!

I was proud that I managed to save some room for dessert! I had the strawberry shortcake. It was large, good for two or more sweet toothers! The strawberries in red sauce was amazing! Alas the shortcake was lacking. I'm starting to think this place doesn't know how to make or keep their breads.

Overall, the experience was quite enjoyable despite their crappy breads!

Oscars weekend, so it was packed around this area.  I had never been here before and the girl/lady that answered the phone was really friendly and helpful when I kept calling back to change our reservation number, then time, then calling because I couldn't find the spot!!! right when i walked up, she knew it was me...hahahaha great start!
I'll give u the outline because I have a lot to say...so here we go:
Good:
- She had a Blood Orange Martini and I had a Black & Blue Mojito.  Both were VERY good, but I liked mine better (don't like citrus too much) - Probably best mohito I've had (even better than the ones I make for myself). Both drinks were strong, but tasted like candy!
- Server was Great (VERY polite), as were everyone else that worked there.  He even offered to Butterfly my steak w/o me asking!! perfect
- Good Bread and Butter (and pepper/onion mix that came w/ it)
- Nice original art on wall
- I had Petite Filet Mignon w/ Mashed Potatoes. The Potatoes were off the hook! Steak was good too
- GF had Prime Rib w/ Fries and Creamed Spinach (they accidentally brought "rice" first, but brought the fries out later).  BEST Creamed Spinach and Prime Rib I've ever tasted (and it was only rare!! I don't eat rare); the horseradish sauce that came w/ the prime rib was really good too
- Most importantly - they are champs when it came to filling my water!!!!!
- I wish I could take the employees everywhere w/ me to train all other restaurant employees!

Now the hard part....here's why this wasn't a 5 star rating:
- Wine glasses had a lot of water stains on them
- Coats were hung right by us (on the side of our booth, BOTH sides)...that was a little awkward, especially since they weren't our coats
- Rice was decent (not special), Fries were good but too salty for me
- Steak was cooked perfectly and tasted good, just too salty for it to be a 4-5 star steak

I really would have liked to pre-drink here because the drinks and the atmosphere was so good, but had to be at the club to meet our friends there, so we left.  Highly recommend this place, if not for the drinks or the food, then for sure for the service!

The Short: Top notch. Food for everyone. Great Experience

The Long: I don't know about you, but where I come from you're not going to touch a steak joint in the mall with even your father-in-laws credit card. Had it not been for the yelp reviews, I wouldn't even have gone through The Grill's doors, but man oh man am I glad I did.

We had 7 people in our party and they were able to give us reservations at 8:15 (30 minutes after my call in). Table was set and ready for us upon arrival. The reason I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5 is that the initial service was slow. We sat there for quite some time with out menu's, water, or attention. Once the ball started rolling, service was much more attentive.

I had the side wedge for a salad, and that was great. We didn't get any appetizers so I can't speak to any of those, so on to the entrees. I had the Kansas City Cut steak and it was _EXCELLENT_. I do consider myself a bit fussy when it comes to my cow, and they really knocked this one out of the park. Perfectly cooked with outstanding flavor. By outstanding flavor I don't mean Ruth's Chris "just throw some herbed butter on the top of it" type flavor, but I mean the steak walked on its own two feet. This steak must have had amazing marbling, just awesome. The baker with sea salt on top was also cooked to perfection. DO NOT miss the mac & cheese, that was also outstanding. The creamed spinach left something to be desired.

Other dishes at our table were the chicken cesar salad, angel hair pasta, a couple filet mignon, and a surprise star the chicken pot pie. I had a bit of the pot pie and I really enjoyed it. Great dish.

I saw a couple comments about the price. My Kansas City cut was the most expensive steak at $46 and it was worth every penny. I believe the baseball sirloin was about $35, so thats what you can expect to pay. If you think $35 is too much for a great steak, I suggest you try 25 degrees in the lobby of the Roosevelt for a great hamburger instead of getting a sub par steak for that $15 burning a hole in your pocket :).

I didn't pick the restaurant, but I guess its a sign that I am hooked on Yelp, because my first thought was "Hey, a new place to review!!".

I was told it was "casual".  Well, I don't know if we were both surprised, or that our definitions of casual don't match.   I thought I was prepared, I had already checked The Grill on Yelp ...  apparently I breezed over "upscale" and focused on "cheeseburger" from Gloria F's review.

I found the service to be very good.  Our waiter made sure that we made the shuttle to the Pantages for the evening show.  Yes, we were running late, but it was very smooth and we didn't feel rushed.

Our dining options were limited -- if we wanted to make it. (Steaks couldn't be well done or have a chicken dish.)  I did find a way to have chicken (The chicken in the Chinese Chicken Salad was already cooked.)  Boy, there was a lot of food on that salad plate.  The swordfish looked incredible very fresh and cooked to perfection.

Because we were eating at The Grill, our shuttle was free.  (Same deal for eating at Koji's Shabu Shabu Restaurant, Trastevere Ristorante Italiano, or Vert.)   I have nothing to complain about, I was able to park for both dinner and theater for only $6.

Will have to go back to try their steaks.

Simply put, I do not know why restaurant's like this exist. Is the food edible? Yes. But is it worth $30 a dish? Absolutely not. I don't know why I chose to come here, but I know I won't be back. There is just no point. Houston's runs circles around this place for the same price. The establishment and the food both lack character, precision, freshness, and love. Service was decent and I didn't get food poisoning, so I give it two stars. Sorry, but this place killed my inspiration to write anything witty or encouraging :(

Great cocktail drink special, $5.00 per drink.

Waited a while for food after ordering.  Then again, a large group could be the culprit.  Pricing was a bit high for the amount of food given, but what can you expect at a place such as Hollywood and Highlands?

I have been to Hollywood & Highland many times and passed by this place thinking that it might be a tourist trap with mediocre food.  After finally giving in since there was no wait, my boyfirend and I went there for lunch.  The verdict: delicious quality food.  The lunch portions were huge and the service was excellent.  I ordered the tilapia, which can be a bland fish but they made it so tasty and it was soooo fresh.  It was blackened seasoned with lemon and capers.  It was perfectly soft and melt in your mouth for a cooked fish.  My boyfriend odered the Kobe burger and wow...that was delicious.  The beef was perfectly seaosoned and had a truffle sauce.  I would give it 5 stars but for its location in a touristy crowded area.

The food is aiiiight at best. For the prices they charge, I expected so much better. My cobb salad had so much dressing it was like eating cole slaw. I was also disappointed by their bland mashed potatoes. I mean, how hard is it to make mashed potatoes? Just mix those flakes in with some milk and butter! Duh. On the upside, the sea bass was a little better, but only because it was soaked in butter. Mmmmm...butter.

Also, did anyone notice that the waiters are actually cholos in disguise? I swear I caught a glimpse of a "Laugh Now, Cry Later" tattoo under one of their white coats. Of course, I have to give an extra star for hiring a vato because you know, he could actually be from my high school. Panther Pride, bitches.

It has been a while since I have been, but I was yet again recalling a drink I had a year or so back.  Yes. Really!  Ever on the quest for a fabulous dirty martini, I enjoyed one here. The bartender who mixed my drink that evening, like I, has east coast roots.  The thirst quenching cocktail was a perfect balance of familiar flavors, yet flavors not quite coming to mind.  (It has been over 20 years since I have lived on the east coast - so the 'flavor' was not a recent one.)  Our friendly bartender correctly guessed that my younger days were spent in/along the Atlantic Ocean. (as were his, apparently). Somehow, his perfect balance of the briny olive juice and martini fixings, had a slight and oh so familiar resemblance to the salty water i must have ingested gallons as a kid.  I know.  Totally bizarre.  But serious, it was great!  Odd, but great!

Beyond that, this is a great spot for the after work beverage and nosh!

Excellent entree, salad, app, dessert and bar. Thank you g'nite.

Seriously, despite its touristy mall setting, this is a winner .

The service was friendly, helpful and tactful. A team effort with many faces pitching in, yet our main waiter guy was driving the ship with charm and skill. Courses were delivered in timely intervals, and split for us without a fuss.

Been here before for the bar (Great martini's, delish seafood app platter). Another time, tonight, split a special salad----spinach, pear and deepfried brie, carmelized red onions---total healthy-ish winning combo.
Also split the Prime Rib (how can ONE person eat all 16oz?); Cooked to order, nice seasonings and a big fat baker, too.
Shrimp Cocktail, plump and tender was also good. And though we were already full, we went for the Strawberry Shortcake: Big Recommendation there. Could split that with three people, as it too is really large. Decent wine and spirits list.

Pricey? Yeah, I spose, but the value is there, too. I felt the ingredients were fresh and generous, and tasty. But do your wallet and stomach a favor: Split some dishes...it's too much otherwise. (Unless you're in some sort of Jake Lamotta training program).

We're hardly ever at H@H, but yknow, it was fun. Good to walk it off a bit around the mall.

The Grill on the Alley - aka The Grill on Hollywood - in the Hollywood and Highland center.

Went for a late lunch.  Oasis of calm, refined dining.  Wait staff in white jackets - were well trained, well mannered, and appeared to know their jobs.  Menu was well rounded.  Prices a bit on the high side.

I had the Reuben and my companion had the French dip.  Both were very well sized.  Service was spot on - drink refills quick and without asking, checked on us just the right amount, they took care of us the way I expect to be cared for.

Location is right in the heart of the Hollywood & Highland Center.  Swirl of tourists checking out the shops and Kodak theater.  The Grill is a good change from the food court type dining options.

Bottom line - If you are in the Hollywood & Highland area and want a real lunch or dinner, away from the tourist hoards - this is a good option.  Food was tasty and well portioned.  Service was perfect.  Decor was rich and calming.  Prices were on the high side but not crazy expensive.  I'll be back if I'm staying in the area again.

I'm saying 3.75 stars. =] Just because I can. So, you're strolling around H&H and you're thinking you want a good meal, and not a place that you can find anywhere- and not hot dogs or a pastrami. You want real food. So take the escalator to like the 4th floor or so, and try out the GRILL. It's a really nice restaurant, with good service. The macaroni and cheese. Let me start by saying, this is not Kraft- it's stick to the roof of your mouth goodness. Get it as an appetizer. My friend got the meatloaf, it was surprisingly good, and the portions were generous. I've gotten the spinach appetizer salad that's oh so yummy with a mustard vinaigrette.  The pastas are good, the veggies are fresh & the desserts are oh so yummy. =]] it'll keep you coming back, it is a little pricey, but you are in the heart of hollywood for crying out loud. You can only ask for so much.

Excellent restaurant with excellent and very attentive service. It is rather pricey so bring a big wallet but the food and service makes up for the difference.
Bar service is just as excellent as table service!

It was the "week of the business lunch."  Day two.  The Grill.  Immediately following a mass meeting at the Renaissance.  We go here a lot because it's so easy to just walk there from the meeting rooms.   Food is very good, if a bit overpriced.  Love the salads.  I got a little giggy this time out and also ordered the hummus trio which was very tasty.  I love hummus.

I think they have wonderful and attentive service here.  For a touristy area, that's pretty rare.

My co-worker ordered us a nice bottle of wine...so lunch was THAT MUCH BETTER.  If you catch my drift.

The Grill has the look of a traditional steakhouse.  Plenty of wood paneling.  A nice touch are the wall fixtures with green shades resembling the old school desk lamps found at a law firm.  They have an extensive menu. One of the specials was a Kobe beef burger.  Since I never had one before I decided to order one.  It was juicy and tender and quite big.  Although well prepared the Cajun shrimp ordered as an appetizer could've been spicier.  Full bar.  On the pricey side.  It would make a safe choice to entertain business clients.

This place was OK, but OVERPRICED as all hell--deduct one star just for the overpricedness. The hubby and I came here for a leisurely dinner before an event at the Magic Castle. We didn't necessarily want to eat at the Magic Castle again and were looking for alternatives. Well, we thought we'd go for a cheaper alternative at the Hollywood and Highland center, and instead we wound up at this place where I think we ended up spending more money :P But really, that is our fault, because they do post the prices; we just thought it'd be a lot better for the price we paid.

First off, it's a nice-looking place, all Old Hollywood glamored out, reminiscent of a 30s-era steak house, complete with your server in one of those buttoned-to-the-neck white coats. It was a lovely warm late afternoon, so we opt for a seat outside. They end up seating us right out the door by the escalators, even though it seemed there were other better tables open. We could've complained, but I just didn't feel like it so we stayed where we were. Our server was very nice, but I was distracted by a tattoo on her hand every time she came over to do anything. Not that there's anything wrong with a tattoo on your hand, it's just an observation. We looked over the specials and the regular menu, and we happened to feel like two of the more expensive items: the hubby got the 12 oz filet mignon and I got the mixed seafood grill--both around $40. With his steak, the hubby got choice of EITHER a potato side or a vegetable side. So chintzy--why not give us one of each? Like some mashed potatoes is gonna cut into their bottom line so much? It's not like they're Ruth's Chris or something, where they're known for their steaks and can get away with charging for every little additional thing. After getting the steak, the fact that they weren't Ruth's Chris was evident. It was a generous cut of meat, tender and VERY rare; more rare than we expected from a rare, but we could live with it. The creamy horseradish sauce we ordered with it was good, but I wish it had been a bit more spicy--I think the horsey sauce at Arby's had more kick. The steak was also unexpectedly covered in a golden cloud of fried onion slivers--it looked like a little blonde afro. I liked it, but the hubby hates onions so I ended up eating the afro. The broccoli came steamed & sauteed with some garlic and it was fine, but again, nothing that knocked our socks off.

My seafood grill was even more disappointing: I got a skewer of dry-looking grilled vegetables--mostly onions and peppers with like 2 little mushrooms, a good-sized crab cake, a tiny filet of salmon, ONE scallop, and a dry-looking australian lobster tail. Overall, not very impressive. Everything was ok good, but just a little too bland, making it shy of it being great. They did give us a good chunk of bread with some picked roasted peppers accompaniment and that was good, but would it have killed them to warm the bread a little? We definitely won't be revisiting this place--we did not feel it was a good value.

My mom, sister and I ate here for lunch on our girls day out this week.  Located in the new shopping plaza at the corner of Hollywood and Highland it was my first time visiting this new LA attraction.  The Grill on Hollywood is an upscale version of the Daily Grill and I must say that I enjoyed it much more than it's affiliate.

The service was nice, but not as attentive as we hoped.  My sister and I both had the cheeseburger and they were very good, but a little on the dry side.  I had to ask for mayonnaise and that little touch made all the difference.  We finished our meal with their brownie skillet dessert topped with toasted marsh mellows and crushed graham crackers.  It was really tasty.

Would I eat there again?  Maybe, but the truth is we ventured down there to eat at 25 Degrees in the Roosevelt Hotel.  Unfortunately it was closed for a private party.
