What is our SF Bay Area equivalent of this place, HD Expo? Grr, they don't even compare! So unfair that there isn't one nearby.
Bring your wallet, because they have so much stuff to drool at, you won't know where to start. One of my pet peeves is that if I'm looking for a fab shower set-up, I mean jets and all, none of the store around me have working displays. Oh but they do! A fantastic one at that!
And, what else did I find here last time? A Porcher metallizato sink that was on sale for less than half the original price, all because it was a store sample. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it! I loooove my sink! This helped me save a couple of thousand bucks, that it was well worth stuffing it inside a box and carrying it as extra luggage.
So get to the Bay Area already and save me lots more trouble next time!
The Great Indoors is owned by Sears and has a lot of their same policies. They have a wide selection of appliances, home decor, paint, blinds, electronics... Prices are about what you would find at Sears.
Since Sears has a matching policy, we did have them try to price match our appliances when we were building our home and they did put limitations on it so make sure you get the details first before counting on it.
Their credit card is like most others. For every $2500 that you spend you get a $20 gift card redeemable at their store. I have done really well finding deals there. You have to catch things on sale though. They have a semi-clearance sale twice a year.
I could spend oodles of time in the Great Indoors and oodles of money. They have everything for your home and it's just a really fun store to spend an hour or two in. If you're looking for furniture, they have that, but I think it's an especially good place to find home decor items.
They have the cool and unique items you can find at places like Cost Plus and Pier One, and then they also have the modern home accents you can find in specialty shops and department stores.
Paintings, picture frames, vases, coasters, lighting, flooring, bathroom fixtures...I'm talkin' everything. It really is the great indoors, so do yourself a favor and go here next time you're looking to remodel or decorate your home.
