Review from Virginia B.
South Padre Island, TX
Overall this is our favorite place to eat in South Padre Island. It is always clean and the waitresses are friendly and efficient. Quality of the food is reliable and good. I wish we could have this restaurant in our Kansas hometown. The food is well prepared for everyday eating and is a good value for the money.

MMMM mmmmmmmm good.
I got the crab omelet with avocado. And it was amazing.
The price was right at $8.50 and with all that crab in it!
The breakfast tacos were really inexpensive and looked pretty big and good as well - but you can always just hit stripes for breakfast tacos for a dollar too!
The line was out the door when we left - so glad we got there relatively early.
Definitley worth a visit!!Listed in: Spring break

Loved it. She ordered 2 tacos and then was informed that they were huge....good thing she only got one. These are very good and large breakfast tacos. I had the special which was eggs and chorizo with tortillas. Was very good as well.

Nice local place, not fancy but a nice breakfast place. They are also completely nonsmoking now, I don't think it was like that last year.
We had a couple of egg Florentines and a migas plate. All were good. Spinach was not that good. Jalapenos in migas were very good, super green. -

Awesome breakfast burritos...huge portions. Very reasonably priced for food on the island. We come to SPI every year and this is a place we will look forward to eating at in the future. Service was good and the restaurant was clean.

Grape VIne and Manuels have the best breakfast tacos on the beach! They are huge so get the small because the small is still huge! If you get the large you will be eating for a week!! The Tortillas are homemade and Huge! This place is cheap yummy goodness with HUGE portions!!
Try it is a hangover life saver! -

The taco breakfast is by far their signature entree. That dish was amazing! The food wasn't as spicy as we expected. Very good service. Our coffee cups never got below half full. We would go again.

what pulled me in was the rave crab omelet review. there was barely any crab meat in the omelet and they left out the cilantro i asked them to add. it was bland and kinda chewy. waitstaff brought me cilantro when reminded and i asked for jalapenos too, hoping together, they could save my breakfast. the place was just too busy for quality food. the staff was very friendly and you can tell there is a large local following, but we were disappointed. i wish we had eaten somewhere else. the one saving grace was their fresh squeezed orange juice.

I would give this restaurant ZERO stars if I could. The tortillas are inedible and the food had very little flavor. Someone recommended this place for breakfast and they were so wrong. We went to Denny's (never a first choice for us) the next day and the food was far better than at Grapevine! Skip Grapevine until they improve!

This place gets one star because I can't give it ZERO!!! Horrible!!! We have been coming to this restaurant for at least 5 years. Food and service have always been exceptional but this time everything was awful! We walked in and took a seat, no wait. That is where the good part ends. It took 20 minutes to get someone to even bring us a menu, an additional 10 minutes to get waters, didn't get my coffee until after the food arrived. Then another 10 minutes for someone to take our order. We were here for exactly one hour when our food finally arrived at the table. While the food wasn't horrible, it was mediocre at best. In the meantime the family who came in 15 minutes after us had completed their meal and left the premises. We also had to ask for service 3 times before someone came over to help. I even asked to talk to a manger and was told there was no manager here today. If you want a good meal on the island, I would say go anywhere but Grapevine, especially if you are not hispanic. They clearly give preference to the latinos! Whites and blacks have to wait and wait, or leave....saw a lot of that. A couple of white girls at the table behind us even went behind the counter to get their own drinks. I was so disappointed because we've always had a great experience here. They definitely need new management! I doubt they'll stay in business. Much longer at this rate.

A cute little cafe for breakfast. I ordered Eggs Florentine. I was surprised that it didn't come on an english muffin. I changed my order to eggs benedict which I was told did. It was OK but obvious that the Holindaise sauce came out of can. Service was friendly.

Yeah I would agree with previous reviews - cheap food, but nothing to write home about. The main pull for me was that the place had air conditioning because I was sweating my ass off by 8 am. Food also took a little while even though the place was empty. However, it still beats Denny's which is the only other breakfast place I saw on the island.
