the glass house is absolutely the best place to see bands.  it is completely made of win.

we saw fever ray here and it was earth-shatteringly amazing.  even vuk commented on the fact that she could not believe we were going to experience fever ray in such an intimate venue, and she was totally right.

for all the people one and two-starring this place, go to house of blues with all the other people made of suck and forget about seeing win acts play in a win venue.

This place books many great acts, but is tainted by grunginess. I've caught a few ska and reggae bands here, but the crowd every time has been really tough. Because it's an all-ages venue with no alcohol, you get a mix of a lot of annoying teenagers and irritated adults.

It's dirty everywhere. I've never been in the bathroom here, nor do I ever want to. Security is a big pain in the ass and has hassled me for no reason.

The few redeeming qualities is that it is large and roomy, with limited seating area and balcony. Every time that I've been here, it's actually been cold even within a large crowd because of the high ceilings. The sound is really good, and the crew seems to know what they are doing with care.

Justin Nozuka.. first concert ever and it was at The Glass House! it was an all age group so the screaming fans were pretty lame!!

The venue was small and while the concert was going on, it got really really hot and stuffy to the point where I wanted to pass out. I should have brought a bottle water or something.

I guess I'll be returning to see Justin Nozuka again this November.. at The Glass House. Hope the crowd is better and they won't step all over my feet!

One less star because they didn't serve alcohol at all. You had to drink next door and you couldn't bring alcohol in with you. The place felt a little like a high school auditorium, but I got to see one of my favorites bands Silversun Pickups here up close, and that's all that mattered. The sound here is great. Maybe it was the band I was seeing, but I couldn't hear out of my left ear for days after hearing them perform. There are no seats here, so prepare to stand for 3 hours, or if you prefer the back area, you can get a pretty good view above the crowd on the second floor balcony.

I went to The Glass House to see one of my favorite extant rock bands, Portugal. The Man. I was meeting a friend who lived in the high desert and wanted for his sake to meet him closer to his area rather than make him drive to L.A. Also playing were local bands Moostache (great!) and Drug Rug (horrible!)

Portugal was amazing, but the sound system was a little flat; the highs, mids and lows all seemed to be coming from the same place so that it wasn't easy enough to distinguish the bass from the keyboard from the singer. Certain bands mixes were way too loud and others weren't loud enough. One of the openers was so loud that I had sensory overload and had to go outside for fresh air after collapsing (which has never happened to me before; I'm guessing it was a combination of not enjoying the music and it being REALLY loud.)

I didn't have many problems with the all-ages audience, save for a couple of teens who obviously had way too much during a pre-flight session and wanted everybody to know that much. I suppose that's the key issue with all-ages: everybody's still drinking, only instead of ordering drink-by-drink, they're downing a bottle before they arrive at the event.

The venue itself had a spacious standing area, but really crowded tight around the stage so that there was no way to make it through unless you had no consideration for your fellow concertgoers (which several individuals had the capacity for.)

The whole show lasted several hours, but I can't help but think it would have been better if it didn't take crews so long to set up, which I think has more to do with the venue than the bands playing because each band took excruciatingly long.

There was no problem walking in and out of the venue to head to the bar next door or your own car for airy extra-curriculars.

Overall, the venue was just alright. The all-ages was nice if you have friends who aren't of age but otherwise isn't worth not being able to order drinks. The bouncers were all at the ready, probably from experience controlling the teenage antics.

I'd potentially go again, but as I heard Portugal singer John Gourley shout in a fan video filmed from their Troubador show the night before: "This is one of the best venues we play at!"

And isn't that the point? There are too many great venues in Los Angeles to bother with the drive out to the Inland Empire that The Glass House demands. I can't imagine how I'd feel about this venue if I didn't absolutely adore the band playing there.

Once upon a time Atari Teenage Riot melted! my! face! here.

Never had a bad experience at The Glass House in all of the times I've been back. Both under and over-age...

I have no idea what you one or two star givers are bitching about. What were you expecting? The House of Blues? $14 apple martinis? Valet?

The Glass House is no frills done right.

This venue is the perfect small-ish size. The sound is usually excellent.  Some of the best music to grace Southern California comes through here. (Case in point- Fever Ray on 10/6... only performing 6 times stateside this tour- NYC, Chicago, S.F., L.A., and... here.)

*Careful where you park your car (had mine broken into once) and hope you don't have to use the restroom = minus 1 star.

And to all the people complaining about the no a/c situation?
You deserved to sweat. =P

I came here another time but I was here for the get up kids, my favorite band. This is a large venue. I like the way it is setup. The last time I was here it was a little worse than this time maybe because they get up kids were doing their last tour.

It was fairly easy to find parking and got a space that was close. It was very nice last night because it was cool and spacious. There weren't too many people. I didn't have to get mashed up against anyone and I had a good view. The music was great but a little loud. Maybe because we were standing in front of the speakers. The bathrooms didn't have soap and paper towels which sucked. I hated that.

Overall  I had a great time. It just that its so far away from me in Pomona. I drove up from San Diego.

My first experience at The Glasshouse was awesome; aside from the fact that i saw two of my favorite bands play. The venue is just great. its relatively small but the stage is set up pretty nicely. I guess its just one of those venues where the sound is just right because its not that large or small.......its just right.
Anyways, ive been to a couple of venues like the House of Blues in Hollywood, The Palladium, the Grove of Anaheim, ets... and i would have to say that this is in fact my favorite.
Oh and before i post this thing up know one thing, if you like to consume alchohol while at a show.....the Glasshouse sells Gatorade, and Water, but no alchohol! so minus one star for that!

Saw the AP Fall Ball Tour last night here.  My opinion of this place still stands. Ghetto and not great looking, but cheap tickets to see awesome bands is enough of a reason to keep me coming back.  I did notice something new this time around.  It is pretty damn warm inside. I wish there was better air conditioning. So to all those who plan on coming here in the future, I'd suggest dressing for summer--especially if you're one of those that enjoy jumping up and down amongst the crowd, fist pumping a rock fist into the air, or if you're one of those three chicks I saw brawl over a drumstick..... silly.

Visited the Glass House for the first time last weekend to photograph 2 Cents, Otep, Shadows Fall, and Five Finger Death Punch
.
Sound was decent and the venue is small (but not too small). Parking is free. I'm straightedge, so it's excellent that the alcohol is separated from the show; I like not having beer spilled on me by some drunk dude.

Bathroom sucks. It's hot as hell. But hey, I got in free, so there's no use complaining, really.

Oh the Glass House, how I loathe you.

Now, I love most music venues but the Glass House, you are NOT my friend.

First off, I do realize it is far. Pomona is far. Like sometimes I forget how big Los Angeles and it's outlying cities are but that is what I agreed to when getting my tickets so I made the trek.

Second, I was a little disturbed by the amount of young kids at the show I was attending but you know all-ages venue, yeah, I get it. But at least I figured I will just get inside, mosey up to the bar, get a drink and wait for the band to come on stage.

And now onto my REAL issue. Yes, I don't need alcohol to have a good time but a venue that serves nachos and popcorn INSTEAD of booze just doesn't sit well with me. I was like county fair or legit music venue?

The "bar" area also smelled like dirty jalapenos and made me a little nauseous which was EVEN MORE intensified as the heat from all the kids wearing sweaters (SWEATERS! IN THE SWELTERING HEAT OF THE CLUB!) just made things worse.

I have only gone to one show at this venue even though other bands I have wanted to see have played there. I just don't think the venue is worth it.

The Glasshouse, i love this venue!!! It's not too small and it's not too big it's just perfect size venue and the sounds is great quality!  Every time I been to this place, it's been an awesome experience...

I have seen many performances here and I can't think of one performance that has not been great at this place...

Here is a small list of performances i have seen The Glasshouse: Face to Face, Blindside, As I Lay Dying, Unearth, Death Cab For Cutie, The Faint, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Darkest Hour, Beep Beep, Cursive, Thursday, Copeland, Bright Eyes and too many more to mention...

Hands down though, my favorite performances here have to be The Faint and Bright Eyes!

I think this place deserves five stars solely because it's the only decent venue in the Inland Empire. Emphasis on 'only'. You usually have to travel to Los Angeles or Orange County for any of the obscure, weird, and/or hipster music I listen to. So having a decent venue in my own backyard is something I praise, even respect, for maintaining such a great line-up of bands in such a crappy, non-musical area.

I've had wonderful times in this place, ranging from me being really, really smashed to completely sober. Glass House gets packed, depending on what bands are playing. When it comes to what types of experiences you're looking for with this venue, it's solely up to the bands you go for.

Because obviously different types of bands attract different types of crowds.

However, the venue itself isn't too shabby. The stage is huge, with lots of room to stand or walk around. Since there are no seats, you can stand wherever you'd like as long as you're not near a bouncer. However, depending on what bands play, it can get quite packed towards the front so strap yourself in early and expect to stand through the opening bands' songs if you want a good spot.  If you like to stay away from large crowds and want to enjoy the tunes from far away, there's a second story with lots of room. i've never seen the second story crowded, even with the most people taking up room capacity.

There's a concession stand in the back that serves the basics: water, chips, candy. Even though I wish they served a larger variety of items, I realize that you come to this venue to ENJOY the bands playing and not the food. The water that they have is usually ice-cold and has quenched my thirst the dozens of times I found myself dying from being in a sweaty crowd.

The prices for this venue are usually reasonably priced. I've never not wanted to spend money because of how 'expensive' it was, but then again, I pay to see the bands.

Don't expect to bring large cameras, such as DSLRs. They don't usually allow it at all. Point and shoots are generally okay. Also, don't really bring large bags if you're someone who likes doing that. Because they'll totally make you put it in your car or somewhere that ISN'T in the venue.

Parking is usually REALLY easy for this venue. I've never had a problem finding a spot. There's a private lot right next to Glass House, too.

Overall, I really dig Glass House. I think it's one of the best venues, simply because they have a variety of bands to fit anyone's music taste. Just go to their website to see who's playing within the next few months. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I've had so many good times at the Glass House. I could go on and on about the amazing bands I've seen here (Ratatat, The Decemberists, MGMT, Of Montreal, Envelopes, Art Brut, We Are Scientists, etc.) Needless to say, the quality of musical acts is very good. The venue is pretty great acoustics-wise, you can usually find a perfect position somewhere in the crowd. Definitely, nowhere is there a bad "seat' in the house. AND the tickets are always reasonably priced!
The surrounding area/artist's colony is great, too! You can cross the street before a show to browse through La Bomba (I bumped into the Black Lips looking for outfits) for some new clothes, or meet the nicest bookstore owners ever over at the Magic Door Bookstore!

No thank you. Really, I said no thank you and I mean it.

Maybe I am too old for this shit but this place took me to an experience that I could have missed and been totally fine with out. I think the fact that the place offers refuge for young'ens to gather and enjoy music with us 21+ is a bad call. Sorry little ones but that just made the pit all kinds of crazy that I could do with out. I have never wanted to cry before when in the pit, this place brought that out of me.

Where the hell do they think they are going?! Push hard enough and the girls in front will disappear I guess, cause it worked. By the encore I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Hot stuffy venue, pushy rough crowd, and no alcohol served. Meh.

This review is intended to cover both the Glass House venue and adjacent bar.  I was thinking about giving 4 stars but couldn't bring myself to do it because of how lame the venue is.

Try as I might but I can't quite put a finger on why it attracts so many cool bands.  I've seen The White Stripes, The Raveonettes, The Black Keys and The Kills here, among others.  I can only imagine that this place has good buzz amongst musicians and because it's one of the only places outside of LA proper??  The place itself is ugly and the sound system sucks.  Never has the sound system done a band justice, not even the scuzzy sound of The Raveonettes!  I will say that you can get a good view from pretty much anywhere, even the second story opening, near the restrooms.  Also, it's cool that you can purchase tix to Glass House shows from the record store (two or three shops down).

Now on to bigger and better things.  I didn't realize the bar was a bar until quite recently - and I've been going to Glass House shows for years.  Maybe consider putting up some signage?  The bar itself is cool but I can't say as much for the crowd, as there doesn't appear to be one.  I've been here twice and both times it was pretty empty (on Friday and Saturday).  Don't get me wrong - I like not having to fight my way for a foot of bar space only to wait 10 minutes for the bartender to notice me but this place is a little too empty.  I think no one knows about it.  If you tell your friends and I tell mine and then they tell theirs' maybe we can get some more bodies into this place.  I don't want it to get too crowded though, so maybe tell your friends to tell their friends not to tell their friends.

The best and ONLY venue in the IE. 3 stars alone for being in the 909 and TOTALLY kicking ass. This joint has been an active ingredient in the revolution of integrating the audio/visual arts into a community that has long been disapproved for being socially... ghetto. Yeah, that's right. Anyone who's grown up in this, or its neighboring hoods can vouch for the 100+ B grade taquerias that are within an arms reach of this venue.

Perfect size and stage structure. You'll have a great view from any location in the room (top and bottom). They've got basic concessions (chips, soda, water) and are standing room only!

+1 Star because it's in the arts colony, where you're able to peruse the art of the up-and-comings pre-concert. It neighbors the antique colony as well... if that steeze is more up your alley.

+1 Star because BF took me here [my most recent Glass House visit] to enjoy the Silversun Pickups. Thus having... a very tender place in my heart.

I'm writing to my only experience with this venue, but...

I flew out for the Unbroken/Undertow reunion show here this past May and while the show was great this venue was terrible for it.  I had gone with the impression that there would be no barricade and no bouncers but the exact opposite was true, there was a huge barricade and the shittiest bouncers you could imagine.  You'd think for a show like that they'd have dudes running security that were familiar with hardcore/punk but instead it seemed like they pulled a bunch of meatheads off the street who just wanted to use their size and authority to push people around.

Adjacent lot parking is free after 6:00 p.m. except for Sundays.  Cello was drowned out by drums and electric guitar but I could hear the viola later.  I showed up an hour and a half so that I could be on the front row for Camera Obscura but the doors opened half an hour later than the website says.  My boyfriend said the line smelled like an armpit with some people near us planning a 21st birthday at an Indian casino because of possible availability of peyote.  Security wanted the guys behind me to empty their front pockets to make the line move faster (water is not allowed inside).

My boyfriend complained that the men's restroom ran out of soap.   The balcony has a good view of the audience and stage.  The person giving wristbands doesn't like Ticketmaster but I wasn't going to drive an hour out of the way for the box office just to come back again.  The women's bathroom is past the exit sign upstairs [bring your own tissue or toilet paper because its out by the end of the show].  We stood there for an hour listening to a DJ play vinyl inspired by the 70's until the opening band came on for like three songs.

Since my salad days, which were years ago because i'm an old man, downtime Pomona has blown up! The place is ridiculous. By this I mean, there are all ages clubs with lines around the block and everyone looks like Brokencyde. Have you heard Brokencyde? Oh my god. Anyways, The Glass House still stands, and it should, since it is mostly made out of concrete.

The place is the cool venue that can house big bands. The space is open, the employees are laid back, and they sell super pretzels.

And nostalgia hits hard here. I'll never forget the squatters across the street (and my middle school runaway friends that joined 'em), the taqueria that was deliciously mediocre, getting lost in Pomona during boring opening bands, and all those other cheesy cliches that punk shows allow (the way you smell after shows, the journey involved in finding a ride there, hugging pit buddies, and so much more i can't mention).

The Glass House delivers it all.

This is a GREAT place. The space isn't tiny, but it isn't also a gigantic stadium. I'd say it is about the same size as House of Blues in Anaheim, BUT it's a lot wider and not as deep, which I like a lot better. This way more people get to be closer to the band.

I also love the area outside, or rather I love the fact that between opening acts you can just walk outside and chill for a bit, rather than having to stand there and suffer through 20+ minutes of the next band setting up like at most concerts. It's really very cozy, very relaxed, very nice.

1.  You can't bring pens in the Glass House!
2.  18+ Venue meaning that super-cute girl behind you that looks 20 is probably 16 and using her sister's ID.

The last time I was at the Glass House was to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs in 2003.  I barely remembered the venue since I ended up having to leave early because...why did I have walking pneumonia and think I could endure that show??

Anyhoo...caught The Golden Filter/Presets show last night.  As a venue: It's awesome. On the smaller side which I totally prefer.  The only bummer was that there was a railing fence seperation between the audience and the stage.  I've been going to shows for years and I'm always like, "booo" when I see that divider, sometimes I think it puts a damper on interaction between the performers and the audience.

Did I mention it's an 18+ venue?  I super love this venue hence the 4-stars but if I could rate the audience, I'd give it a solid 2.  There's something my friend and I were discussing last night called "Polite Pandemonium." It's where the audience is feeling the vibe of the music, and even in a state of jumping up and down and knocking into absolutely everyone around you, it's all in fun. Uhh, not here. The kids alone almost ruined the show.  And there's nothing I hate more than large women built like locamotives thinking they can squeeze their way all the way to the front...sorry, think again. I may be small but you will never get infront of me. So, yes the etiquette here definitely sucks.

Overall, though a pretty cute place.  The sound quality is actually REALLY good here. Crystal clear.  The Glass House is  easy to get in, absolutely no hassles about being on the list and getting comp'd tickets like other venues. I like that they have a strict schedule that artists actually have to abide by.  We all know how much it sucks when you're waiting like an hour for the sound checks, or for the artists that come on whenever they damn well please.  The glass house has an 11:30pm curfew, and trust me, you WILL be out by that time. I don't live anywhere near Pomona, so knowing that I won't be there past midnight was great!

I'll start with why I love this venue, and talk about the drawbacks later. The major plus is that it's really intimate, so no matter where you are in the crowd, you're pretty close to the performers. Another MAJOR plus is that (unlike the money-sucking gold digger that is Hollywood) parking is absolutely FREE. And there's plenty of it. Right across the venue. No, you don't have to pay $20 for a lot that's already packed and 8 blocks away from your destination (L.A., I'm looking at you too). There are a bunch of restaurants and bars around the venue. If you're 21+ like myself you might appreciate the adjoining bar.

OK. Now for the drawbacks.
First of all, I can't stand the crowd here. A majority of the concert goers are kids and extremely annoying. I had a 300 lbs. 16 year old douche crush my ankle while shoving his fat ass to the front. I mean, really?? He could've had a clear view from the very back with his 6'5" frame. I'm only 5'3" damnit!
Anywho, I saw two concerts here: Tegan & Sara and Opeth. Two VERY different crowds. The first was filled with 15 year old emo girls and the second with 16 year old metalhead dudes. Ummm... NO. Both times I got evil stares from these posers because I don't dress in funeral attire or do weird shit with my hair.

Another drawback: the ventilation. They majorly need to work on their AC.

Oh, and their bathrooms are really dirty. But that's not the fault of the venue, that's the fault of the evil children that attend the venue.

All in all, props to the Glass House, but I wish I could exterminate 85% of the crowd.

I can't hear out of my right ear anymore but who needs both ears anyway?

I came here last night with Skylar to catch the Airborne Toxic Event show. But really, we were there for Henry Clay People.

Parking was relatively easy. As soon as I turned onto 2nd Street from Garey, I parked down the first block near the concert hall. Skylar parked across the street but there are lots nearby. I wouldn't trust the parking lot for the bank though but maybe they don't tow in sleepy Pomona.

Skylar had forgotten her confirmation number and the will-call booth woman wasn't too helpful. After we finally got that, they said they needed to call Ticketmaster and of course they didn't have the number handy. !!??!!

But eventually, she was able to secure the tickets. Security was lackadaisical. Skylar warned me to leave my forest green gel pen in her car because they take that stuff away from you. I think the security dude did the most cursory glance through my purse. And then they had to chase me down to put a wrist band on me. I saw the band guys all had wristbands too. How...odd.

It's standing room only and we stood in the back, behind the rail. This gave a good view above the sea of people that stood in front of the stage. But I was slightly distracted by the open door (but later was glad for it for some air made it to us from it) and the security guards pushing people back back the line to clear the walkway.

There's a concession stand but I didn't check it out since Skylar said it's dry. This is an all ages venue so we saw a mix of parents with their kids, Pomona locals (the college kids) and people like us who traveled to see the bands.

The merchandise tables are immediately to your right when you walk in. Some of the opening bands came out to sign autographs and to chat with the crowd. That was pretty cool.

And since I had parked on the street, it was really easy to get out and get back on the freeway. I think this may be my new fave venue to check out a band.

As soon as I get my full hearing back.

Love this place, my all time favorite venue.
They usually play good bands in great variety.
A great venue for a great price.
The sound system is one of the best I've experienced in a venue.
HUGE floor and stage.
HUGE concession stand.
HUGE restrooms (kinda shitty but what do you expect?)
And a second story just in case you wanted to watch from a high view.

It's located in a really cute artsy district.
Nice little vintage store across the street to look at before the show.
One of the very few places that allows ins and outs due to the fact that their outdoor smoking area is outside the entrance.
The guards at the door are great to have a conversation with.

My favorite venue of all time ... the only place I think can top it is The House of Blues but their prices are ridiculous and it's not as big so fuck it!

I had totally forgotten about the glasshouse. I've been away from california for so long. I used to live here during my high school days. Dancing around to Everytime I Die, As I Lay Dying, The Bled and every other hardcore band playing at that time.lol. The venue is medium I would dare say small for some of the acts playing here. I never paid to get in so I had free roam all the time.lol. It was cool meeting Chris Conely
from Saves the Day and Owen(Mike Kinsella). The bands usually sell their own merch here so its cool because you can talk to your favorite bands for a price of a shirt. Which by me is totally cool.

Well another place I miss.

I love this place.

I live in Pomona, not the best place to live and
The Glasshouse is definitely what makes
this rundown city. Now with the FOX Theater opening
it's doors, it's going to add a little something to the city.

GH is a really intimate venue with AMAZING prices and
always has a wide variety of shows scheduled, even
some you have to do a double take on.

Sure it may not be the most posh venue but it's what
gives it it's character. It's a hole in the wall place that
provides amazing music with good sound. They have
a bar for everyone who has been bitching about no
alcohol. Personally I like to watch my shows sober
and enjoy the show but I guess a drink or two isn't
so bad either.

Free parking is awesome! SO is the vintage shop
across the street & the tattoo shop a couple doors down.

Security is usually nice and hilarious to talk to in line.

Bathrooms look like a safety hazard but I can't think of
anything else I don't like.

By far my favorite venue. I love Hollywood don't get me wrong
but I'm not going to pay 20 bucks more for a ticket. Plus it isn't
mainstream as the House of Blues chain, gag me.

I'm no fucking music expert but I love how they support
local music & the community. And I'm a fan of just a raw
show, I don't need all this extra stuff like food, drinks, etc.

I'm there for the music and the GH never disappoints,
and they have down to earth employees!

The Glasshouse Bar is right next to the venue. It is such a great place to relax at after a show. They play good music, and the vibe is really laid back. I love the interior, it's like part bar and part lounge. There is a Brick interior, leather couches and seats, and hard floors with furry rugs ( oh ya and that splash over color over the back wall). Been here twice, and I will definitely be back. Only bad thing, is that they seem to close before 2am. maybe it's city rules, not sure? Still a cool place to go.

One of the great venues in the area is The Glasshouse.

I have been watching shows here since I was a wee lil lad bobbing my head, crowd surfing and moshing.

Now that i'm an old man, I come back thankful that this great venue is still here, having great bands and artists preform on stage over and over again.

Yeah sure this place still looks like ish, smells like ish, but for $10/tix to see great bands I just might even eat ish..okay maybe not but come really close to it.

Came here Thurs. nite to a sold out venue for The Airborne Toxic Event.  Sound quality as always, hit or miss...the band sounded better at the El Rey where I saw them last but again, like I said the tickets were freakin' $10!!  Hell, the dirty bathrooms start to sparkle and smell like roses for that deal.

Parking, as always are easily found right around the corner in nearby lots and are free.  Next door, there's a bar that looks like my college's commons hall.  Get plastered here beforehand, because the Glass House still serves kiddie drinks.  Mixed drinks are $8, bartenders are sweet.

I love Glass House.

I hate Glass House.

Some of my best high school  and home from college memories are at this grimy, rundown, less than stellar sound system, hot little music venue in the middle of the sticks.

Probably the most incredible music experience of my life was when I brought my little cousin to see the Decemberists three or four years ago. His little 12-year-old bladder couldn't handle a three hour wait in line. His little pee-pee dance caught the attention of the woman who has been working the door for as long as I can remember. She told him he could use the bathroom inside. Since he was my responsibility I of course had to go with him into the empty venue....it had nothing to do with the fact that The Decemberists were doing their sound check. Long story short: I was an audience of one during two songs.

On the flip side, I dread having to use the bathroom here. From the first time I saw a show there to the most recent there have been two stalls with missing doors. Ugh. The soap situation is dismal, usually running out in the first hour of the show. Despite having all pen's confiscated at the door there still seems to be unimaginative, crude scribbles on the wall.

Speaking of confiscated pens: I have had to wait multiple times to get my pen back at the end of the show. Each time the door people seem shocked that I would want MY pen back. It's always an ordeal to track down the pen cup. I do like that they have in and outs even though they don't allow you to reenter with a water bottle you bought inside.

Most of the audience is pretty lame. I have had more than one confrontation while trying to enjoy the show. The hazards of an all ages club I guess. Still, there is no excuse for pushing and pulling me to try and get closer to the stage. Get there earlier next time, k?

So yeah, with the two hour trek out there and the craziness of the all ages club scene, I'm still willing to return. I have seen too many great bands to hold a grudge against any of its shortcomings.

I've seen a few shows here over the years. I remember first coming here to see Bright Eyes...like way back in 2003 or 2004 or something.
It's pawesome.
Parking isn't that difficult to find around the artist village area. The venue is just the right size (in my opinion). It's not too big, so you're still gonna have a good time even if you're in the back. It's not too small that I feel claustrophobic or something.
I always enjoy the shows here.

Ah the Glass House.. There's the good and the bad, I think. But the good wins. I like you.

A great place to get tickets to see a band that has sold out in LA. The best thing about the Glass House is that shows rarely sells out! AND it's a pretty small venue. I like the way the stage is set up in a corner.. so basically short people still feel like they can be up close and personal. There's some elevated viewing via a little platform in the back and the balcony by the bathrooms, but the floor isn't too big so the standing view doesn't suck that bad.

Case in point.. Saw the Kills (fucking awesome rock band, btw)  a couple of weeks ago and then saw the Kills again the next night at the Fonda. Which was better? That'd be you, Glass House. Better view, better sound. And better overall show experience. I think Alison Mosshart even had a better time cuz she rocked it out, yo. It sold out right before we got to the box office, but by luck and stalking other concert-goers outside the venue we got tickets! I've seen a handful of other bands too.. Passion Pit, Lykke Li, CSS.. Never a bad experience. Other items worth a mention: free parking lot nearby, pretty decent restaurants down the street, and adjacent record shop. (Although it makes me feel sad when I'm in the record shop, feels like someone's basement and they're selling their music collection for extra bucks) Also it seems like it's a camera-friendly venue.

The only downside to this place is the 18+ factor or all-ages aspect. No alcohol served inside the place, only soft drinks and pizza (wtf, right?) The other downside is the smelliness. Can't tell if it's that horrid cheese smell of the kid who's eating pizza in the crowd (seriously, wtf) or the smelly teens dancing their hearts out.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, memories. My high school days of waiting in lines for hours and hours to be one of the "lucky ones" to get smashed against railing at concerts and shows. The Glasshouse is where I saw The Cardigans, Save Ferris like nine-thousand times, Glassjaw, Reel Big Fish, Dashboard Confessional, etc. back in the day. (Yes, I can say back in the day now, being that I graduated TEN years ago.) It was also the meeting place for my ex-girlfriend of four years, where we were set-up on a blind date at a Homegrown show. So yes bitches, it brings back memories.

When I returned last Sunday for the Mike Ness show, I realized nothing has changed...and maybe that's a good thing. Same sound. Same snack bar set-up (NO BOOZE.) Same X103.9 sticker in the pisser. Same everything really. The only thing different, and greatly appreciated, was the new bar right next door.

I guess the old saying rings true: Some things never change. Well, except me of course.

Not a bad place to see a show.  It's no frills, the staff is friendly and helpful, and there pretty much isn't a bad view in the house.  I'm not a fan of the sound mix, however.  Maybe it was due to the type of band, but the mix was too loud and flat .

I didn't get to try any of their cheap eats, but they once you've got that wristband on, you can come and go as you please.  Thankfully there are quite a few alcohol options around, including the wannabe trendy bar right next door.

Street parking is abundant and free (!).

The Glass House is probably one of my favorite venues.

I've been here probably 15-20 or so times and am always fully satisfied with my experience at the end of the night.

Cheap ticket prices, free parking, AMAZING bands, clean & roomy environment... what more could you ask for?

As soon as the doors open, most people rush to the standing area in front of the stage. I, however, like to park myself on the side stands. Most people don't even realize they're there. I can put my purse down without worrying, sit when the next band is setting up, and have an overall relaxed experience.

The only downside (if it even is one) is that you're not all up in the crowd right in front of the band. If you want to go crazy, get sweaty and dance with other fellow fans, then the side stands are not for you.

They also sell candy for $1, yum!
Glass House is definitely my number one choice for a small venue show.

The glass house is great if you enjoy the small venues. When i went the place wasn't really packed and every area in the glass house was pretty decent standing location. No seats, so put on your dancin' shoes and brace yourself for the line at the merch area.
The small venue size gives you some FACE time with the artist or actually face time with the sweaty fans near you.
Pretty good stuff. I would definitely drop by for another concert.

Most shows sound really good.
Usually never SO packed that it's uncomfortable.
In's and outs with a lil courtyard across the street to waste time at.
I like this place.
