The Gathering Ground
2 reviews for The Gathering Ground
The Gathering Ground is the supreme place to come for all of your gaming cards and tournaments. If you like playing Magic, D&D or any other card game then this place should be tops on your list.
There are shelves upon shelves and cases upon cases of cards. You have your card sets, your booster packs and they even have some miniatures. Whether you want Harry Potter, Pokemon, Marvel or Magic you will feel at home here. The staff is wonderful and personable, and no matter your genre, you will be catered to.
Previously located in the city, the new location in Valley Park has a huge parking lot and plenty of room for all of their merchandise and tournaments. Come check it out!
It's amazing this company has stayed in business with service this poor.
The incident started when I attempted to place an order on their website. Three times I received the error, "Payment server cannot be reached." Since this company hosts its own site, this problem was internal to their network.
Not a big deal. So I call at 8:10 a.m. (when the store is presumably open) to place the order over the phone. A person in shipping picks up and tells me I have to call back later because his "office person upstairs is running late today."
So I call again at 8:30 a.m. to place the order. The person in shipping transfers me to his office person upstairs.
That guy, Zen, fumbles through taking the order. The phone call lasted 15 minutes. I only ordered 1 box. At the end, he informs me that I'll receive a confirmation e-mail later when the order ships.
By 8:30 a.m. the following day, I still had received no e-mail. I checked my bank acount and discovered that there was no charge on my account yet. 24 hours had passed and they hadn't even processed the order much less shipped it!
I called back to find out what happened. The point man in shipping again picked up and confirmed that the order hadn't been processed yet.
Now I'm angry, and I ask to speak with his manager. After a minute, a guy picks up and says tersely, "This is Jason. What can I do for you?" I ask him to confirm that he's the manager, and he says, "Yeah. You wanted to speak to me."
I told him I wanted to make a complaint about the service I had received. Before I could even finish the sentence, he cuts me off and says, "Don't worry about it. We'll cancel your order."
I said, "I don't think you understand..." Then he hung up on me.
This company does not value customer service, and it does not value its customers. I will never order anything from this store.
