I love the atmosphere here! They always have different artwork and photography hanging up on the walls to see and enjoy. There food is good. I always have the yummy homeade soups that they make everyday. The coffee and teas are great. The service is very friendly. They have couches or tables with chairs depending on your choice of seating. Great place to hang out with friends or just relax by yourself.

What I love about the good, ol' Monkey:
* Coffee is great
* Baristas know what they're doing
* Lots of cozy couches
* Friendly service
What could improve:
* The hours are short, even during the summer time. I'd assume that in a smaller town, businesses would extend their hours even by a couple hours, in order to cater to the influx of tourists. FM is one of the few coffee shops in Kenai, and likely the best, and it's a shame that it closes so early.
* Gets cold in there! Lots of windows and drafty doors
* Few more food options/variations would be cool
* Bring back the affogato!! (gelato with espresso poured on top, oh my GOD was it just insanely delicious) -

We brought our granddaughter here for lunch on her suggestion (she lives in Kenai) and was delighted with the food and fast service. Good hot chocolate and coffee. Our sandwiches were very tasty. The quilts posted on the walls made for a relaxing ambience.

As excited as I was to try this place, I am pleasantly non-disappointed.
I have high hopes for the Funky Monkey.
The food was great, the portions were just perfect and the biodegradable take-out boxes impressed this small town girl.
However.... They just opened this summer and the menu is short. I expect great things to develop here. They have it right, now they have to sell it.

Very promising upscale bistro on a small town level.

One of the best grilled cheese I have ever had in my life. Baked potato soup is also amazing, get it fast because it won't last. Try the Mediterranean salad also, very very good.
