This LA girl came ready to party, and party she did not.
I wanted to love Front Page. I did. You can't beat location to the metro, and with my insanely hot and ridiculously painful stilettos, this should have been a no brainer. Sadly, even with my lowest standards, this place was just a bad date that kept getting worse.
The girls and I showed up on the earlier side of a Friday night. We were going big. Or so we thought.
At 10:30p this place was already getting busy, although I suppose this had something to do with the World Series game. The bar was well staffed, and in no time I had the attention of a bartender. Now, I don't know if it was just my bad luck, but every bar we went to served us deplorably weak drinks. The Front Page just added to my sober misery.
My Grey Goose & Tonic was ice and tonic. Did he forget the vodka? When I hinted to the bartender that it was a bit weak, he kindly, and with little fuss, pulled out the bottle and splashed some more vodka in. Ok, one point for not making a fuss, loss of two points for the skimpy top off.
We kill the first round of cocktails, and I'm done messing with the kiddy drinks. I want shots. Here was my second mistake: I asked for chilled Goose shots. The bartender left the vodka and ice to "chill" for so long that the vodka just got watered down. No ice flakes in the shot. None. Ridiculous. And to add insult to injury: three shots for the bottom basement price of $27. Fine, if I can't get my drink on, at least I should get my dance on, right?
The dance floor was a joke. The management just moves some tables out of the way and a slew of dumb, drunk (how did THEY get drunk?!?!) 20 somethings make some sad attempt at a top 40 party, circa 1995. Seriously, I felt bad for the DJ. Did they even know what they were dancing to?
If it wasn't for the gorgeous door guy and the snarky staff in the know, this place would be a one star. By 12:30 it was off to the next one.

Their $2 Coronas on Thursday are probably the best thing this place has going for it. The clientele is kind of lame, and the service is pedestrian.
But it has a pretty good location, so it's not a complete waste.
****3.5 stars***
After honing my HGTV skills in the new condo, I went out for a late dinner on a wednesday night (8:30ish). On a side note, if you have found a way to hang a hook in concrete in order to swag a chandelier, please let me know...
So, apparently wednesday is half price burgers at front page. For around $4, I had a large veggie burger with cheddar on a toasted bun with a large side of thin, seasoned fries and a crisp pickle. Way more than I could eat, but good quality. Others at the table had the regular burger and a toasted sub. Service was attentive even though the bar was already filling up with people looking to start the weekend early. We dined alfresco, so it didn't feel too cramped.
I'm not sure why so many complaints about the clientele. I thought it was pretty similar to that of whitlows, liberty tavern or any other popular arlington bar... if anything it skewed a little older since Ballston is condo owner central.
I would come back during the week for lunch, dinner or HH. No idea what this place is like on the weekend.

There's absolutely no reason for you to step foot inside this place (unless you're looking for the highest population density of popped collars in the District). But you'll probably end up here anyways. Kind of like hell. Or graduate school.

For $10 during football season (college and pro games) you can get the "Football Platter" which includes 4 wings, 4 chicken tenders, fries, and a Bud Light. I thought it was a great deal!

My wife and I went there on a Saturday for lunch. We were quickly seated and sat down to look at the nice, but limited menu. The main feature was of course the breakfast buffet for (I think) $16.95. I love a nice big breakfast but I've got to be pretty damned hungry to put away seventeen dollars worth of eggs, sausage, grits, and biscuits. And plus, we had a museum to go to after lunch so I didn't want to weigh myself down with the trappings of limitless food at 12 in the afternoon.
So using sound judgment I ordered the $13.95 crab cake sandwich, which was tasty enough. It came out with onions, tomato, lettuce, a ramekin of aioli sauce and a side of fries. I enjoyed the sandwich and on the Scale of Crab Cake Sandwiches I would give it a 5 out of 10. It wasn't anything spectacular but about what I expected. I was pleasantly satisfied and I could still get up out of my seat without groaning to Jesus.
Our waitress was great and attentive and the manager made the rounds to the tables. If food and service could be separated by reviews the service would get four stars, and the food three.
I honestly don't know if I'll return anytime soon. And it's not because of any shortcomings on their part - it's just that there's so much damned food to be eaten in this town.

I visited the Front Page on a recent trip to DC to visit my younger sister. She chose the restaurant, but she also invited 6 friends, so we had a group of 8 on a Saturday night and no reservation. I was nervous about getting seated at all, but shockingly, they sat us within 5 minutes! Our server--upon my request--recommended a white wine that was delicious, and we had the veggie spring rolls, which were also great, for an appetizer. Their menu isn't exactly vegi-friendly, so I had a salad, but it was tasty and filling. Our server was friendly and the bill was reasonable. No complaints.

The Front Page: not for nightlife/ ok for HH
Front page has potential. It is located so close to the circle, has two bars, restaurant, and outdoor seating. But the average age of people who go there must be around 21. Seeing a drunk girl screaming and trying to climb on the bar does not make me want to go back. I don't care if it is her birthday or bachelorette party. The dance area is rather makeshift. It seems like they just move some tables to the side on the weekends to clear a space for dancing.
I think it should be avoided at night, but agree with some of the other reviews that this is an OK place for HH, well maybe college aged happy hour.
I dont mind this place for a quick brunch or to grab a few beers.
The last time i was there, i was sitting in the back dining room area having a few drinks with friends. I noticed something out of the corner of my eye, and it was a mouse ripping around the room. I wasn't too freaked out(i have seen mice before) but my friends were pretty grossed out so we left. End of story, the front page has mice, but will that stop me from going back, no.
I'm suprised at the low ratings of this restaurant! Maybe it's because I came here with this leadership program and didn't have to pay and was in the company of good people and so on.. but I didn't think it was that bad.
My favorite part of the entire meal was the bread and butter.. There were at least 2 different types of warm bread rolls in a basket, and it was served with butter that had chives or some other herb in it. mmmm so delicious. I had the California wrap for my main entree, which was good. Nothing spectacular, but it was more than enough to fill me!
Overall, I was satified.

I end up here towards the end of the night usually. I have had a few of the appetizers and they were all just your average bar fare.
They play decent music most nights. It can get extremely crowded and you will wait to get a drink.
This is definitely a better place for a HH versus a night out. I like how you can sit outside during the warmer months.
The lay out of this place is kind of strange. You walk in and there is a smaller bar to the right, then you walk through a dining room to get to the main bar. Then if you need to use the ladies room you have to walk back through the dining room, through the crowded front bar, and down some stairs, only to discover a line of hot drunk messes all waiting to pee.
Idk this place is just your average bar, nothing special.
I feel like 2 stars is really bad, but according to Yelp it's "meh," and that's entirely appropriate about this place.
There was nothing at all wrong with the Front Page, but there's nothing about it that would really bring me back. It was an odd time (around 2) that we went, so there was no wait, and we got to sit outside and enjoy the weather. The service was okay, but a little lackluster considering the lack of clientele.
We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was not at all what I expected. It still tasted good, but it was rather runny, and it seemed a bit lacking in artichoke.
My friend got a Caeser salad, which looked highly average to me, though now that I think about it, I can't recall any croutons, which I think are rather required. She also got one of their cocktails called the "Crush," which is any liquor with muddled mint and lemon juice; they describe it as halfway between a mojito and a sour. She got it with gin, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I had their crabcake sandwich with sweet potato fries. It tasted good, but it's nothing to rave about. I also had a "Grapefruit Julep," which was actually really good. It was tart and a little bit sweet, but not overpowering; good for a warm summer afternoon.
For 2 drinks, an app, a salad and an entree, our $55 bill is pretty standard, so the price isn't really a concern. In fact, the $10 drinks are cheaper than comparable drinks I'm used to in Boston.
Summary: There was nothing wrong with the food or experience, but other than a drink, I wouldn't feel any desire to go back.
Went for the brunch buffet today, and it might have been the worst 20 bucks I've ever spent on food. Golden Corral or Old Country Buffet would blow this place out of the water any day, and at least at those places you can refill your own drink. Our server was polite and apologetic, but was totally incompetent - he seemed unable to remember to refill drinks from two tables simultaneously.
The waffles were undercooked, the roast beef was tough and far too chewy, the eggs were unbelievably dry, but the potatoes, on the other hand, were soggy. The place was absolutely packed, and about half the people ordered the buffet, and for the life of me I can't understand it. Just horrible.

I've been to Front Page a few times and I've had a pretty good time. However, sometimes it gets so packed that it's unbearable. Also, they kicked us out at 2:30AM...LAME.
The bartender was slow, but he made up for it with free shots and being cute. :)
The music is fun, the crowd is rather preppy types in their 20s. Basically, go here if you want to have a chill night with some dancing!
In the years after college and when I had just moved back to D.C., my friends and I came here every Thursday for HH. Buckets of Coronas for $12 (6) and appetizer specials kept us coming back. It gets really crowded, so best to get their around 5:15 to get a good spot and seats/table.
The place has i bit of a younger hh crowd. I would stay away from the $1 tacos. Need I say more?
It was cool when i was a bit younger and wanted a crowded bar with cheap beers. But this really isn't a place I go to anymore.

Came here on another Saturday night. No cover, convenient to Dupont Circle, wanted a small bar atmosphere where I could dance. They played top 40. They have a small dance area that was acceptable.

It was my second time in Washington DC and after a long days of work I thought I'd spoil myself a bit. I walked around Dupont Circle looking for a place to eat and came upon The Front Page. It is right in front of the Metro station and was packed so I thought that was a good sign.
Sat down, ordered the front page ale (which was great by the way), and ordered the new york strip topped with onion rings with baked potato and rice. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The waiter was excellent. What more can you ask for? Oh, the price was reasonable too for what I ordered. That topped with it starting to rain outside as the sun set made it for a relaxing dining experience.
Having a good meal sure does take the work stress down a huge notch. Thanks Front Page.

Tried the brunch here finally - I must say, I was underwhelmed. As expected, the brunch drinks were good, but the food was nothing to write home about. For those prices, I could go to Daily Grille a few blocks away and enjoy much better brunch food.
So, a big *YAWN* for the Saturday/Sunday brunch. Definitely brunch elsewhere. (Brunch. Just wanted to say it one more time.)

This bar is what I refer to as "the American scene." Some call it "fratty," others "divey." Americans love this kind of scene--casual, laid-back, and un-pretentious. Thursday nights are packed here. If you're wondering what to do on a Thursday night, and would like to meet and flirt with fellow young professionals, this is the place to be. Unlike other places in Dupont, the crowd is fairly young (many of the patrons have just turned 21 or are interns).
Beware the culture gap if you have some kind of international (non-American) background, speak English with an accent, or are expecting a glamorous/classy vibe. You'll have a hard time fitting into this type of environment, just as you would in Adams Morgan and Georgetown. But for those who feel right at home in these all-American settings, Front Page is a great destination.

Maybe I had a bad experience here -- or maybe it really does suck. I don't know, I'm just here to judge ;-).
First off, waaayyy too loud. Granted I like to talk to people in bars/lounges/clubs outside my group of friends, but when you're screaming at the top of your lungs to your friend next to you, there's not a chance you can stir up a conversation with someone new...ok whatever, you're hear to chill with friends, that's cool. I hope you like sobriety because the bartenders take FOREVER to get you a drink, and no, I'm not a douche (at least I think I'm not?) and I wasn't being a prick either to them by flaunting my wallet in their face -- though maybe that's how they might respond...whatever, the only decent thing about this place is that its in dupont.....and that's it. I can't comment on the music because I couldn't hear it...the only time I left a scene with my ear ringing and didn't hear 1 music note.
I will not be back...
I Heart The Front Page. Matt the Bartender makes this bar (NH side) feel like my Cheers bar in DC. This place has a way of making a Friday night Happy Hour truly a happy experience.
Granted, the crowd can be a little young sometimes, but the key is to go early so you can get a seat. Matt pours a great drink, and is a great bartender and there are always some great regulars hanging out on the early side of the evening.
This place has a great bar menu, too. The french fries are amazing and their quesadillas are good, too. Their full menu is pretty good, too. Nothing amazing, but for a bar/restaurant, you can't go wrong!
Overall, the atmosphere - if you go at the right time - is stellar. Great prices, great grub and wonderful service.

Brunch at The Front Page is wonderful. Get there around ten, though, because this is a popular spot.
The buffet is fantastic -- along with the prerequisite scrambled eggs, bacon and fruit, there is fresh ceasar and pasta salad, French Toast, waffles and a carving station. But even if you're not in the mood for all-you-can-eat-and-then-some, the brunch menu is delicious. And don't forget the bottomless Mimosas!

Came here last weekend, definitely not impressed. The service was horrible, the bartenders were rude, and there were only guys hanging out there.
My friend and I bought a beer at the first bar, the bartender took our money and set the beers down on a ledge where another couple swiped them (thinking they were theirs). When we told the bartender what had happened and if we could have 2 additional drinks, she looked at us like we had a 3rd eye and accused us of trying to get two free beers. The girl even called the bouncer over when we protested her ludicrous accusations, and had my friend and I promptly escorted out of the bar. It was 9:30 pm. Never coming back here after the terrible experience.

You have to go in here knowing what to expect, and that depends on WHEN you visit.
Happy hour time on prime days and on weekend nights forget about having a chill evening and being able to chat with friends. It's usually packed with the post-frat crowd and it's quite the pick-up scene. On the other hand, if you come here at lunch or on an odd evening for dinner, you'll get a pretty standard American type restaurant with decent food, prices and service (I did one time see a waiter spill water all over some guy).
My favorite time to come to Front Page--let me rephrase that--or the only time I come is for brunch. They make pretty good breakfast items and on Saturday and Sundays they have an extensive buffet with made-to-order omelets and waffles. On Sundays you bay about $5 more (I think about $20-22) and you have the option of smoked salmon (yum). I usually get one of their salads here. It's hard to find a decent, filling and reasonable one in DC, and this place fills the bill. On Sundays they also have a huge "blood mary buffet" for those looking to kill their hangover with one or maybe five. Overall, brunch/lunch on the weekends is a nice place to catch up with friends, and Front Page fits the bill.

Unless someone set's up a lunch meeting or happy hour get together, I would never quite voluntarily go myself. I think the service is actually quite top notch, or at least I've been lucky to have great servers, but the food such as the chicken noodle soup and crab cake burger are nothing special.
It's not bad to the point where I would avoid the place like the plague, but it's not good enough to recommend even for casually dining at least once.
I was dragged out here after a long night of bouncing around in .... Fairfax?! Needless to say going out to DC at midnight was pointless but hey we're adventurous! It was Tuesday night and apparently a hot spot for local Brazilians. And my friend was right. Tons of exotic girls and guys. The crowd was half Brazilian beauties and half sorority/frat guys and gals. It was so hot inside, I felt like I was going to pass out. The bartender was pretty nice and we didn't have to wait for drinks very long. But it also smelled like hot trash in there in some spots. Instant gag reflex goes off randomly while walking through the crowd (not attractive or cute at all). I would probably never eat at a place like this after seeing (and smelling) it on a weekday dance/lounge night. But I guess decent enough to go to if you have absolutely no place else to explore.
Go on Tuesday if you at least want some eye candy.

Location: Convenient; right by metro
Atmosphere: Meh; crowded only to get more crowded as the night progresses
Service: Average
Food sampled: Turkey Burger + cheese, fries = meh and boring.
Bathrooms: Inconvenient, small and kinda messy
DJ: OK
Company I was with: Awesome.
Like Union Jack's in Bethesda and most bars in AdMo, I probably won't return unless I'm forced to for social obligations.

Last day in DC...brunch at The Front Page!!!! For $20.95 you have unlimited access to the brunch buffet which has waffle station, craving station (salmon, brisket, and something else), omelette station, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, fresh fruit, chessey grits, home fries, french toast, buscuits w. gravy, corned beef hash, bagels, etc. it was really good..we had great seats outside..the weather was beautiful...nice way to end a great wkend with the girls!
I'm surprised the reviews for this place are so negative. And average 2.5 stars? Really?
This review is only for the bar, I have never eaten at the restaurant (though I've sat with friends and the food always looked good).
Front Page is another one of those go to places, conveniently located on Dupont Circle. I revisited this past weekend for drinks with a friend and was reminded why I loved this place so much. This place is more formal than some of the other more divey bars in the area, and the crowd just seems to be a bit more refined. Maybe thats just me wishing it was, but either way it has a better feel than oh, say, The Reef in Adam's Morgan (see my review on that for thoughts about the crowd...). Either way, drink prices are fair, the decor is more upscale and gives you the feeling you are in a real bar, and there is a small dance floor which usually turns into a fun spot on weekend nights. There is also a downstairs too with pool tables and another bar, I've only been down there once and it was alright, but I prefer the main bar upstairs, its a DC classic.

We came to The Front Page for an alumni event for my friend while we were in town. I definitely thought the place looked great from the outside and its proximity to the Metro definitely gives it high marks in my book!
It was a Monday night and the place was pretty packed (well, we were also there for an event...), with lots of people not only imbibing but also chowing down. I didn't taste any of the food, but had the bartender make me a "special" drink. (Basically, I asked him to make me a sweet ... but not too sweet drink, and he came back with a Malibu, pineapple juice and a splash of soda concoction that was fabulous!)
It wasn't too loud, so I could definitely hear people while I was conversing and the place had a laid-back vibe to it, which I definitely liked. The only big con was how far back the bathrooms were... it was like going through a maze trying to find the place!
I'd definitely go back sometime and check it out again...

Oh my gosh I think I have just found the perfect salad (excluding my own). I went in for lunch, not wanting a huge meal but not wanting to wander endlessly through dupont circle searching for a meal, and certainly not getting some slop from Cosi across the street.
I sat in the window-front bar next to the heaters, and was quickly attended to by the bartender with a glass of water. The menu is pretty extensive with pasta, grill items, sandwiches/wraps, and salads. I had been thinking soup and sandwich, but then out of the corner of my eye I saw it: Hearts of Palm Salad $10.95. I didn't even read the description, I slammed the menu shut and started waving my arms frantically at the bartender to put my order in. I would've gone into the kitchen and called it in myself.
The salad that arrived almost made me weep. Big juicy hearts of palm spears, like 30 black olives, 1/4 of an avocado, tomato slices, roasted red pepper slices, artichoke hearts and balsamic vinager on the side! Perfect! Washington DC may not be aware (as AZ and MA are) but I am a hideous salad eater and I immediately regretted my window seat. I did my best to eat my meal politely aka i didn't just put my face in it and start chewing.
I would go back to Front Page for that salad alone, but also for a hot meal.

Hey Yelpers, you realize a place that get such disparate reviews... means it's an exciting joint that just isn't going to please everybody.
In other words... come with an open mind to have a good time. That's how this place works.
I've had the food (at the bar) many times. It's comfort food, fair for the price. I've never actually sat down for dinner... why? Why would I? That's not where the action is at.
Those of you reviewers that go to places to try out delectable creations of chef who know what's his name... keep walking. This ain't the place.
This is one of the few bars in Washington DC that forces you to drop all you pretentious BS at the door. All your scene-ster hangups, leave them in coat check. This place is like Cheers with way too much red bull.
Happy hour is where the specials are at but this bar is always a good time, even on slow nights. Why? Ask for Soup or Jimmy, the bartenders that hold court there. They're some of the funniest, easy going guys you could ask for and on Friday/Saturday nights, they bust their ass to keep everyone's drinks full.
The front bar is the nutty bar, the back bar is the less nutty, and in the summer, it's got a great outdoor area.
Understand that this bar is an all ages bar... ladies if you're looking for guys old enough to do it right, but young enough to do it often... this is definitely the place. But if you're a 20 something kid and you still think you're not allowed to talk to strangers, move along. This is where cougars cause as much trouble as the next batch of 20 something year olds, probably more so; you'll be out classed out gamed, whatever, very quickly.
It's one of those bars where adults like to play.

Ok so this review is about it as a going on place on Friday and Saturday Nights. (although I had the wings and have been there during march madness ...wings are pretty good..march madness watching there is ok..not great)
So I don't know how to describe this place other than sports bar/ rest that turns into awkward dance party/ d-bag fest at night. It has nothing to do with the somewhat griminess that happens there as I can be a big fan of dive bars. Here is what I have a problem with there:
-drinks take way to long to get
-drinks are not cheap (not pricey either though)
-basically everywhere you stand is in "flow traffic" area
- insanely crowded and not by the people you would want to be crowded with
-random dance/grinding near the tables near the bar(which makes me feel bad for the people who eat there the next day)
-even though there are two bars in separate areas both are pretty much the same crowd/ feel with the smaller one being slightly less d-baggy
My friends and I when we are out in dupont and we are bored, someone always suggests front page, which we always shrug..lend up going in...walking around and leaving before getting a drink...looking back I am not sure why someone hasn't stoppped the madness of us even bothering going in.
Overall I haven't ever had an awesome time here, I feel like there are so many other places in Dupont where a better time can be had.

Let me start by saying, this place used to have a great weekend brunch, staff and enviornment and over the past 3 -4 years the bar has gone down a slippery slop to mediocrity.
Most of my readers know, I like to give very detailed reviews, but TFP doesn't warrant one.
Stopped in recently for lunch the staff didn't even acknowledge me. The restaurant was half empty in the early afternoon. My waiter acted as though I was a "problem" rather than a customer.
I order a simple ceasar salad with grilled chicke and shrimp. It was bland and easily forgetable.
The place needs a major overhaul on many levels, the food, staff, management and decor.
If someone suggest dining at the front page, I would suggest, YOU SUGGEST, another restaurant.
That's all.

I had been to Front Page before for a happy hour, and it was ok. But I went back this past weekend later in the night, and I did NOT know they had a DJ/dancing! That always gets me excited.
However, this place is way too small for dancing. If they really want to compete with other dance-y bars in the Connecticut Ave. area, they need to expand the dance floor. Otherwise, they should play rock or 80s like any other bar.
The drinks were ridiculously priced. I paid $22 for two shots and a beer. Maybe that's standard for this area of D.C., but I don't go out here too often. Front Page is close to my apartment, so I would go for a quick drink, but I don't plan to make this a usual "going out" venue.

This review is only in regards to brunch.
A friend of mine has moved from Arizona to DC. So, another friend hosting a "welcome to DC" for this friend by having all of us meet for brunch at The Front Page.
What I didn't expect was that brunch would be buffet-style. It is really hard to be impressed by a restaurant and its offerings based on a buffet. This is because buffets are generally bland and The Front Page was no exception.
The brunch buffet offered waffles, sausages, bacons, eggs (with cheese), hash browns, grits, biscuits (with gravy), fruits, bagels and other stuff. Like I said, it was just bland and didn't set itself different from other places.
In addition, it was ridiculous to pay $20.95 for this brunch buffet.
However, I do have to say that our waiter was attentive and friendly. He was nothing but the best!

Boooooooo...
*Sarah throws the tomato straight for the front door of this place*
This place basically sucks. We had to meet friends here, and before they even told us where we should meet them, my boyfriend in DC said, "I just hope it isn't The Front Page." And behold, it was.
It was like college regurgitated itself all over this place, complete with music that was not that a good, a dance floor that was covered in spilled mixed drinks that splashed up on your jeans and stuck on your shoes, a bunch of drunk girls with no IQ and a bunch of plastered guys with an even lower IQ all meet here. Sounds pretty great, eh?
Ya that's what I thought. Out of all of the awesome bars in DC this one is one that I hope I never have to come back to. In fact the only reason we were forced to go here was because one of our friend's sisters wasn't quite 21 and we had to go to a place that either didn't care or we could run an ID swap on them, and guess what Front Page won. Congrats, Front Page on that win! You earned it!
It isn't easy to feel bored in a bar full of people, but somehow this place just doesn't make you want to dance or socialize or anything. In fact it actually made me want to leave the Dupont area entirely to get an entire change of scenery, and that can't be a good thing right???
And my friends who ate dinner here before the night life took over said their waiter was awful and rude and didn't pay any attention to them at all, and none of them thought their food was worth the price at all. Jane paid $12 for wings which she said didn't have any flavor at all, so I guess this place sucks at food too.
Definitely not a place to bring friends you want to catch up with, but a place to get plastered and pretend you are back in college looking for that random hook up, and really people, you really should grow up at some point....

I have a softspot for this place because this is where my bf and I came on our first date! :)
In college, whenever I ventured out to Dupont, this was our spot! I love the vibe...it's not really a dive bar but it's not as pretentious as some of the other places that I've been to. While the area around the bar gets crowded and it's sometimes hard to get drinks, I still always had a blast and just danced the night away! I don't really like dancing in a formal place, so it's fun b/c if you want to dance, you can, if you don't want to, you don't have to! Fun on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night!
There are so many places to go in Dupont, but this is always a fun place to hit up along the way!

Two hungover and extremely hungry tourists scrambling around DC looking for food at 11pm. Hotel room service and restaurants was closed, concierge told us "DC closes early..." I'm thinking WTH. Found this place after walking at least 8 blocks, and foregoing California Pizza Kitchen (I said I wasn't going to eat at a chain on this trip). Place looked cool with all the old "front pages" on the wall everywhere. The food, however, was a different story.
The order:
Spinach Dip - Came out lukewarm. We had to ask them to reheat this.
Chicken Fettuccine - There was tartness to this but overall it was alright.
Seared Salmon - Most of the dish was pretty bland. I poured a lot of pepper all over my plate...and ended up eating more of my friend's fettuccine.
Wine - Can't remember the name...$40 bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.
What was nice was the abundance of outdoor seating. We finished our wine outside as the restaurant was closing. There were plenty of heaters, and it was warm enough to do without.
