I really wanted to give this place good marks, but the ho-hum attitude of the staff and mediocre food pulled it down to a two star. However, the fact that they give out iDine/AArewards airline miles and they give a military discount, they got a bump of one star.

Yes, they have slightly higher prices than other restaurants in the area, but their appetizers are about a dollar cheaper, so to my math, it is a break even if you get a couple of appetizers and use the $5- coupon from their website.

They have a variety of local micro-brews (I don't drink but did note LazyBoy & Diamond Knot which are made within a few miles of here) and I'll have to come back in the evening for apps & a few beers.

I try not to be picky, especially since I usually eat lunch around 2p-3p, when restaurants are prepping for dinner. TFP barely met expectations. The hostess stand at the enterance said 'Wait to be seated', but after a minute the bartender greeted me and said 'grab a seat anywhere'. After finding most of the tables by the windows dirty, I sat at the bar.

The staff brought me a menu in less than a minute, and when I asked for an Iced Tea with extra, extra lemon, I got only two thin slices. (I could live with it, but wanted to test the staff). After a few more minutes the bartender came back out and took my order (the Monster Club)  and she was off again.

My lunch was delivered within ten minutes and the bread was still toasty warm, with the meats stacked WAY HIGH! It was a mouth buster trying to take a bite. The waffle fries were piping hot but the ketchup was watery. (Geez, am I picky or what...)

The part I have an issue with was that the staff never asked how my food or drink were, nor did they ask if I wanted anything else. I sat watching ESPN (with no volume because they had the country music station on the PA system) for another three minutes (while she chatted about a job with another customer) before I hollered for a to-go box (for the 1/4 piece I couldn't finish) and the check.

I don't expect waiters to trip over each other to check on me every five minutes, but at least once after the food arrives and again 7 minutes later is the proper thing to do... They didn't meet even my minimum standards for service.

3 Stars - and only because of the afore-mentioned perks.

This would have been a 3 star experience and it has been in the past but they have a several things working against them.

* They changed the menu: bring back the Mango Bango...it sure felt like a local favorite when I was there.

* Prices are increased around what it will cost you at Red Robin. A burger will put you back 10 bucks.

* Service hasn't improved. It wasn't amazing then and it is not amazing now.

This could be your spot for a beer but with the Irish pub next door and Tailgater Joe's down the street, would the Flying Pig be your choice?

We used to eat there on a regular basis but after many bad experiences we gave up, there are too many other good places to eat, like Rays drive inn.

The last time we ate there I ordered a 16.00 pizza, I've had better pizzas at Fred Meyer. I couldn't get through one slice, the crust was pasty, like no yeast type.  Total flavorless.  When food is that bad it scares me because they obviously don't care about it.

The waitress dropped off the pizza and we never saw her again.  I had to go to the bar and pay the tab.  I couldn't think of any reason to leave a tip and I never stiff a waitress. I also couldn't think of a reason to go back.

The name says it all...

I came here a couple of times with some pals for lunch. I don't drink and I don't eat meat... hmmm, what to do here besides stare at the Hawaiian shirt wearing servers prance around. The Hawaiian shirt server in charged of our table approaches me first...

Server: "Good afternoon, what can I get you?"

Me: "Umm... I'll have a side salad with a low cal dressing, please"

Server: "OK, that is all? Do you want something to drink?"

Me: "Just water."

Server: "How about the bar?"

Me: "Oh, I don't drink, besides...  it's only 1 o'clock in the afternoon"

Server: "Come on, live a little!"

Me: *thinking WTH?!?* "Fine, cancel the salad... give me the biggest ice cream sundae and a chocolate milkshake to wash it down."

Server: *confused look on his face*

Me: "What? You said to live a little, and that is what I'm doing."

Let's just say, I wasn't too proud of what I've done, so with that said... If I'm ever back in the Everett area, I'll return to this place if I do see a REAL  _ _ _ _ _ _     _ _ _!  Take a wild guess and fill in the blanks!

The pigs don't fly here for me and neither does the staff.  If you have hours of time, come on in....the staff is slow and so is the service.  I wasn't too impressed with the food, either.  I don't drink beer, the drink I did have was lame, not anything good to say about this place for me.  Won't go back.

I have never eaten here, but the drinks are cheap and the beer is good, with a nice selection of popular and micro beers. Both times I've been staff have been friendly and service has been quick and efficient. On my last visit I spilled my half drank beer and the bar tender brought me a new one for no charge.

Again, I haven't eaten here so I can't comment on the food but if you stuck in Everett this isn't a bad place to get a drink.

The Flying Pig is a downtown Everett legend.  They were one of the first stable downtown restaurants and they have contributed so much to the community.

It is a fun, relaxed place.  It has a neighborhood feel with a big long bar, fresh brewed beers on site, outdoor patio seating, booths and tables for large groups, TVs with sports playing, friendly staff and servers, and delicious food ranging like burgers and salads.  What also makes this place great is all the friendly customers.  When you go into the Flying Pig, you feel like one big family and find yourself chatting with the table next to you.  Warm fuzzy feelings (not creepy ones) at The Fly Pig and always a good time!

We have been to the Pig on many occasion over the last 7 years, never during "happy hour" or events, just for dinner and drinks with friends.

It has grown in a direction that bores us - as a previous reviewer mentioned "restaurant serving pub fare and the same beers nearly all the other bars in the Northwest".
SO true.
Those who waited on us for food were always friendly, knowledgeable and personable.
The bartenders on occasion (3 out of 5 in the last 2 months) appear to get flustered or too busy, and sometimes have smarmy going on, lol.

The mixed drinks we ordered were quite tasty and strong. The beer selection nothing original. The sandwiches were tasty, but not worth the price if you are looking for the quality of a place like 74th Alehouse at the same coin.
The ribs were not impressive, and the salad dressing comes out of a tub, and one of our guests had an MSG reaction (oops, should have asked) We just figure most people make their own dressing/sauces these days? ah well....
If you have to make a choice on Colby and you need the comfort of easy dining, go Pig, otherwise head down to the waterfront.

This is, a matter of fact, one of the few places where i have gone to eat lunch by myself.  I had jury duty a couple years ago, and took off down Hewitt looking for the old Alligator Soul. Well I walked the wrong direction and i ended up here at Flying Pig.  I ordered a chicken strips with honey mustard sauce.  I was kinda surprised that it was just chicken and not served with fries, but there were five juicy big pieces of hand dipped chicken served with a homemade honey mustard and a really yummy bar b q sauce too (i dont like bbq sauce on chicken strips usually). I sat at the bar and had a coke to drink, while i caught up on some sports.  It wasnt a bad place really!!  I would go back.

Beer selection went way down, menu choices were mediocre and service was passable.  Something happened since I was here last, not sure what but next time downtown Everett, I'll be probably looking for someplace different.

I've eaten here many times, but  don't any longer.  I used to come most frequently when they brewed their own beer.  When they stopped brewing we continued to come once in a while, but the food is okay, the service is alright but if I want that there are a many other places I could go.  There is really nothing that distinguishes this place from the multitude of other places that serve a hamburgers, fish and chips, and beer.

I've eaten here a few times and the food is a bit inconsistent. The first time it couldn't have been better and I was already looking forward to the next time I would eat there. The next time came and the food was below average and a bit of a let down. I will eat here again I just hope the next time the food is better and the tables are cleaner. The decor is very nice American steak house style and adds to the experience.

The pig used to be a microbrew and I remember swinging by and downing several pints before playing a show at the nearby Jimmy Z's.  The beers WERE good but last time I was there they said they stopped making beer and instead wanted to focus on other Northwest microbrews.  Right there they went from 5 stars to 3 stars.  They changed from a local brewpub serving unique beers and pretty standard pub fare to a restaurant serving pub fare and the same beers nearly all the other bars in the northwest serve.  I don't know I feel they lost the thing that made me want to go there.

Over the years off and on of going there, I was not too stoked about the last time there. It's indeed a nice place for a setting, but the food seemed to have went up in price and less focus on what used to be the reason why i went there....their OWN beers....and easy prices on food. New ownership i heard, so maybe i better go see again how things have changed.....

The Flying Pig has board games.

We have eaten here several times and any place that is cool enough to allow you to play board games (which is funny----either the crowd there is elitist and seem to refuse to play bord games because they're above playing board games in public, or they're not so elitist, but self-entitled bastards that decide to play board games in public.)

Anyway, the food----the food is way overpriced, the portions are really big though. The desserts are delicious, especially the choccy ones. I dunno, they should be brewing their own beer but I wonder what made them stop?

Oh, and group events are great here. No room fee, and you basically have the whole place to yourself to get drunk and be merry! We went to a friends "Going Off to Iraq" party here and we had a blast!!! Everyone was well taken care of and there were plenty of things to do.

I just think this place needs a couple lava lamps and maybe Dance Dance Revolution and then it would feel like being at a party in someone's basement (minus the pot smoke).

The Flying Pig has a great happy hour.  I work in Everett and then usually rush to get the hell out of there (no offense, I'm just partial to my own neighborhood).  But occasionally, I'll get together with some of my coworkers for some yummy appetizers and half price beer after a long week - and have never been disappointed!  The waitstaff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the beer list and we've never had to wait for a table (which is a big plus on a Friday night).  If I'm going to stay in Everett, this is a great place to go!

Perhaps the best onion rings in the state.  Otherwise, the Flying Pig is rather disapointing.  Food is overpriced, though is often enjoyable.  I've had more than one glass of bad wine here, one of which was a brand and variety I normally enjoy very much.  Not sure what's up with that.  This pub always seems to be under-staffed when I go, and service suffers.  Having a frazzled server is always a bummer, and so is waiting for them to catch up.  The beer selection is good, but nothing to write home about.  I'm not so hot on the atmosphere.  There's someting about cartoony flying pigs all over the walls that just doesn't create a very grown-up vibe, and I feel as though I'm drinking at a family resturant.

Wish I'd been here when they still brewed their own beer. Otherwise, it's pretty standard pub fare, and a bit pricey at that. The local microbrew selection is good, but not worth regular visits.
