Holy jesus, this place is tasty!!  Hip ambiance as well!  I really wish this place was just down the street so that I may dine there everyday.  I am a southern girl and damn if this ain't a southern girl's dream spot.

I have been the The Feed Store twice now and it keeps getting better.  Although I kept from painfully stuffing myself the second time... the first time I couldn't resist.  From the molasses chicken wings to the chocolate fried pie, I almost passed out from culinary rapture.

We asked to shower the chef with praise both times and were greeted with the Sous Chef, Amy Potmesil, who prepared our meals.  A joy to speak to, you can tell these folks take pride in their food.  On my second dine I had Amy's special which really solidified my faith in this restaurant.

Do yourself a favor and dine at this restaurant ASAP.

Sometimes you read about those girls, pretty and smart, who complain that nobody ever asks them out.  The interviewer inevitably asks them, "Well, why not? You're GORGEOUS" and this hypothetical beauty queen simply shrugs. "Maybe they're intimidated by me? But I try to be so NICE." They sigh and for a moment regress to adolescence where indeed, it seems they were hated for being beautiful.

That's the Feed Store.  The wife and I ate here one Friday, beset on either side with empty tables. In fact, only three tables in total were occupied and it seems all of them (including us) were using some form of coupon from http://restaurant.com

This is sad and inexplicable to me.  The space definitely is nice: upscale loft, exposed brick and white table cloths. My only complaint is the absolutely vertical banquet backing that chooses style over comfort. Oy. Pardon me while I hunch over my food.

And the food was also spectacular. We received a gratis black eyed pea "humus" dappled generously with truffle oil. This arrived alongside our order appetizer of pea risotto which tasted fresh and entirely of peas and cheese. If the job of an appetizer is to whet the appetite for the entree, consider the job well done.

For entrees, the wife ordered a veggie plate.  Of these, she preferred the sweet potato gratin and her collards. This being several weeks later, she can't remember the other choices which I take as not being as memorable.  I ordered the country-fried short ribs which is exactly what you'd expect, a braised short rib that was finished country-fried. To tell the truth, it's kind of hard to screw something like that up. You can country-fry a stillborn baby, and I think it'd still be delicious, if not a little gamey.

Despite our enjoyment, The Feed Store sat empty. I scouted the rest of the space and noted the awesome back room. We drove up and down Main Street and noticed crowds in College Park's other establishments so the College Parkians were definitely out in force.  So here this beauty sits, alone and waiting for a date on a Friday night.

Four and a half stars. I'll round up to five if a return visit holds up. And hopefully The Feed Store will hold up for me to be able to schedule a return visit.

So the reason I like visiting the feed store is because it's really close to the airport.  In fact, on my last visit I would try to guess which airline was approaching the airport from the window. . . it was pretty cool.

Decided to knock down a star on second visit.  Just because I'm a vegetarian and there is not really too many healthy options here.  Sure my salad was great, however most of everything is coated, dipped and fried in batter.  I suppose it could just be a southern thing, however I think healthier options would be much appreciated.

I really hate to give this place a 3 star review because there is a lot of effort here and it has lots of potential. The space is very nice, warm and inviting, and the dining room is set up in a way that makes most tables feel private which was pretty cool.

The flavors were interesting. Unfortunately, for us it may have been a bit too much and the flavors worked against each other a bit. We started with a small plate of pork belly over grits cooked in Sorghum Molasses. This was probably the best part of our meal, the pork belly melts in your mouth and the grits were very good although a bit heavy on the molasses.

I got the Butternut Squash risotto. The risotto was pretty good and it was topped with cabbage. I could see where they were going with this, as the cabbage added an interesting twist to the risotto. However, this is another spot where the flavor worked against the dish a bit...this should have been lightly topped with the cabbage, but there was too much and it overwhelmed the flavor. I ended up pushing about half the cabbage to the side to not interfere with the main flavor of the risotto.

My wife got the Springer Mountain Fried Chicken and Duck Duo with Pepper Jack Macaroni and Cheese, and Coca-Cola Baked Beans. The fried bird and duck were both very good. The duck fell off the bone and was not gamey at all. The fried bird was infused with a mayhaw barbecue sauce which I kinda liked but my wife didn't like that flavor. However, the bird was moist and the crust was very good.

The Coca-Cola Baked Beans were interesting, but again a bit too much flavor that worked against the side. It tasted pretty good and different to start but then overwhelmed after a while. The mac and cheese was very good as was the sweet tea.

Not sure if I would make a return trip, but I wouldn't dissuade anyone from going there either.

The Feed Store, taking Nouveau Southern to the next level. I have been to The Feed Store quite a few time over the past year and have had a wonderful experience every time. The menu changes with the seasons to highlight what is fresh. The last meal I had there was the tasting menu with Sweet Grass Dairy . It was excellent. Chef Peter is always experimenting with new flavors and pairings. I appreciated the fresh chevre ice cream even though it wasn't my favorite dish. But I loved the foie gras appetizer. Just thinking about it makes me happy.

The service is friendly and attentive and the space is inspiring. I can't wait to go back.

My favorite lunchtime meal there has been the grilled chicken sandwich.  To call it a sandwich is truly a misnomer.  They stack a huge wonderfully seasoned grilled breast onto delicious focacia bread along with a delicious homemade spread and fresh toppings.
I am totally in love with their sweet potatoe fries and dream about them for days after I've had them.

Their service is friendly and excellent.  They are attentive and seem to really care about serving their customers.

I really like taking my family there, as well, because it is a true 5 star quality restaurant, but their lunch prices are reasonable considering the large portions that they serve.

This is our favorite new restaurant of the year.  The filet was perfect, absolutely perfect, and the shrimp and grits topped the charts.  Chef Peter and the entire crew were nice, fun, and fast.  We've been taking our friends there whenever we get the chance, and they all love it as well.  Excellent.

The food is outstanding!  Great variety of fresh, local produce and Georgia products on the menu.  Our server, "The Doctor"  was not only entertaining; she was effecient and a terrific help in choosing what to order.  The atmostphere is nice, and the padded, upholstered booths are romantic and private.  Can't recommend this dining experience enough.  If you want a real treat, as for the Chef's dinner where he will choose your meal for you.  It reminded us of the TV show Top Chef as the Chef came out with each course and explained the ingredients used and the cooking method.  Either way, a really fun dining experience.

What the heck is in College Park??  Where can one escape the Ruby Tuesdays, Waffle Houses, and Olive Gardens that business people usually suffer through?  Enter The Feed Store.

It's not walking distance to any of the hotels On Virginia Ave, but worth the $4 cab ride (don't quote me) if you're itching to get out.  It's also right outside the College Park MARTA station - bonus!  Cute place - refurbished historic building.  The signage looks cheaper than the menu, so I deducted a half star.

The menu is very "new Southern" with new twists on Fried Green Tomatoes and Shrimp & Grits.  I had the Springer Mountain Fried Chicken and Duck Duo with Pepperjack Mac & Cheese.  Yum!  Not overcooked or greasy.  Had the Chocolate Molten Cake with Peach Sauce and Chocolate Ice Cream for dessert.  OMG, this was so good.  Service could be better, especially since this place isn't very big.

Minus one star for service and signage, but good little secret in College Park.

I've been a big fan of Chef Peter Golazsewski ever since his Epicurean days.  So I naturally followed him to The Feed Store.  I've visited several times, the first was a chef-tasting menu and the most recent visit was a week ago during their Sweet Grass Dairy farm-to-table dinner.

I have NEVER been disappointed with Chef Peter.  He is the most consistent chef in the city.  His food is inventive but it doesn't try to be flamboyant.  Everything is executed brilliantly from the combination of the ingredients to the magnificent plating.

I'm giving this place 3 stars (instead of 2) because I respect most of the Yelpers who've written rave reviews here and because I like Patrick (the General Manager.)

The ambience is very uptown, and I really like the fact that it's located in a small town environment with the railroad track right across the street. Extra points for style here - somebody obviously had a vision and spent some bucks on execution.

The fried short rib (can you say mega-fat bomb?) was very tasty, I'll admit, but it was the foodie equivalent of a Big Mac - too unhealthy for my blood. We ordered the vegetable plate and got some great braised cabbage and respectable glazed broccoli, but the Jack mac n cheese tasted like Jack went missin'. The pimiento stuffed fried green tomatoes were long on innovation and short on flavor, as was the salad with boiled peanuts and celeriac. Again, extra points for innovation, but food like this should be delicious. It was...good.

Recommended if you're in the area.

I head some really good reviews about what Chef Peter Golaszewski is doing at The Feed Store and since the restaurant is pretty much located in my backyard, I thought I should give it a try.  Went there for my 2nd wedding anniversary last week and was not disappointed!

We were really torn with what appetizer to go with but finally decided on the Barbecued Georgia Catfish Pate.  The plating was impressive and the pate was tasty, but I don't really think pate is my thing (I had never had it before).  Next time I really want to try the Deconstructed BLT (I've heard it's amazing).

As for entrees, every single one on the menu looked incredible.  I ended up ordering the Country Fried Beef Short Rib.  My dish was great and I would definitely order it again (after I go back and try all of the other dishes first of course).  The beef was very tender and tasty.  I was a little hesitant about the Roasted Shallot Whole Grain Mustard Gravy, but it was the best gravy I had had in a while, creamy and not too mustardy, like I had feared.

For dessert, we ordered two... the Chocolate Creme Brulee and the Strawberry & Rhubarb Cobbler.  Both were good, but I liked the cobbler better.

Overall, I had a fantastic time at this great local restaurant and I'll definitely be back again!

I went to dinner with Rebekah A.  I agree with everything she said in her review.  The only thing I can add is that the service was fantastic.  Our server, Doc, was top of things the whole night.  She did ask us if we were celebrating anything that night and we divulged that it was out 2nd anniversary.  She bent over backwards to make sure we had a good night.

For those Yelpers with food allergies like myself you will enjoy this next part.  On the menu Chef Golaszewski has a note to tell your server about any dietary or allergy conditions you might have.  I told our server about mine and she made sure everything was safe for me.  She actually said that they could make any of the meal fit my allergies if I wanted.  Swapping out sides or just making sure there is no cross contamination.  Just plain awesome.

THE BOTTOM LINE -- This is a fantastic restaurant with an exceptional menu.

Very good food when we went and for a special treat, ask if Doc can be your server. By the time we left, I was including a seat for her at our next family dinner for Thanksgiving! She made the service wonderful and still wasn't intrusive or over the top.

I can't believe that this gem is hidden away in College Park. I went to a friends birthday dinner and she had the Chef do a tasting for the party. It was the best meal I have had in Atlanta. The faux caviar, pork belly, short ribs, dessert and the wine pairings were amazing. I wish that I took notes or pictures of the eight courses but after the wine kicked in I was seeing flying monkeys. We didn't see a menu and one person had an allergy that was easily maneuvered around. I can't tell you what all I ate but I'm going back to more.

As you approach the feed store from the outside, the general store look to the place might make you think a cheesy dining experience will follow.  Once inside it's clear that you're in for a more upscale meal.

The meal was great from the soup to the buttermilk biscuit prosciutto sliders to the scallops.    What really made this meal great was that before desert the chef Peter came out and talked to us about the meal and told us a little bit about the restaurant.  I'll definitely be back here

The only disappointment was the desert, the black cherry sorbet came off a bit too much like cough medicine.  It's really hard to avoid that with this kind of desert, but given how great the rest of the meal was I would have expected better

Fairly impressed with this place.  Enought to have tried it twice.  Friends say that this neighborhood used to be pretty sketchy but you wouldn't know it driving up Main Street.  The location is a bit weird as the restaurant almost sits at the end of the ATL runway.  If you're sitting just right, you can see the lights glaring from the planes.  The noise didn't seem to penetrate due to the low playing music and conversation.

Now the food.  I would classify this place as New-Southern cuisine.  A playful interpretation on southern classics with in-your-face flavors and down home comfort appeal.

I tried all of the apps.  All were done very well, very flavorful and on-point (temp, flavor, texture, combination).  Believe it or not, my favorite app was the buffalo flavored fried crawfish tails (with pickled rhubarb).  This was the hit at the table.
Between the two trips, I tried all of the small plates as well.  My two favorite were the mini-meat loaf and the scallop and pork belly.  I enjoyed them all.
Unfortunately, I only tried one of the entrees but it was so rockin' good, I'm not sure I needed to try anything else.  My companions all waxed poetically about their dinners so I'm assuming they were good.  I hit the country fried short rib.  That's right, a slow-braised boneless shortrib, flavorful and tender, dipped in country-fry batter and deep fried to a perfect GBD (golden-brown-delicious).  Served with whole grain mustard gravy (of course), buttermilk mash and veg.  Yum.  I've sworn off fried food for a few weeks because of this.

The wine list is solid with some good selections by the glass.  Small but good beer selection with a surprising Chimay - Blanc on tap.  Great beer for this style of food believe it or not.

When staying by the airport, this one will always be on my list to drop in for a beer and a few small plates at the bar.

Coming south for a quick trip, could you imagine my delight at seeing a fried pork belly over cheese grits? My heart was a flutter. The tasting menu delivered consistently through the night. When my host explained Atlanta was known for their fried green tomatoes, a small plate appeared shortly later, and the city delivered even more for us.

The interior was very tastefully constructed. It had a strong country store appeal where a wine glass couldn't possibly be out of place.

Oh, ask for Doc. If she doesn't serve you, you're missing an Atlanta gem. She made the night that much more special; unforgettable in fact.

Did a tasting menu - my only regret is that I had to be carted out of the restaurant in a wheelbarrow.  The Fried Green Tomatoes with pimiento cheese and crab was awesome; although the crab was overshadowed.

The fried chicken is fantastic, way better than the duck its paired with.  I would only suggest it the mac n cheese be served next to it; the crispiness wanes a bit.

The Country Fried Shortrib is a unique must-try.

Although the airport location may be inconvenient, its neat and different.  The lofty space can get a little loud.  Definitely worth a trip, this place serves it up Southern and delicious.

What a delightful restaurant. I was in town with a bunch of friends for a convention and we ended up at The Feed Store. Very cool ambiance with an industrial twist, brick walls, high topped booths and hip lighting. We meet Chef Peter who was eager to please, a real cutie. Excellent service, the food was served piping hot. My catfish with the pecan sauce was delicious. We were all happy campers right down to the apple dessert that we all shared. Go here and give this place a try. We want Chef Peter to succeed!

Agree with others who've been delighted by this find:  What a great place with farm-to-fork yumminess and friendly staff -- at end of ATL runway 8L on Main in College Park.  If this place was in Midtown/V-H/Inman Park, it would be overrun every night and written up in Saveur and Gourmet.  Closed Sunday and I understand busy during week with bidnez crowd.  Think less expensive Shaun's with more vegetables, less attitude and a table waiting for you, now.
