We stayed at the Farmington Inn for New Year's Eve - they were offering a deal, I think it was $200 for a room and 2 seats at the Farmington Club for dinner, drinks, and dancing.
We took a shuttle to the Farmington Inn and were picked up at the end of the night to go back to the Inn. Very helpful for us since we had been drinking the whole night.
The rooms are pretty standard hotel rooms, but I thought they were pretty big.
I would stay there again, especially for the New Year's deal. Definitely worth it!
Farmington Inn bills itself as having the charm of a New England B&B and I was slightly disappointed that the B&B vibe was not there. Their breakfast really isn't anything to rave about either - it's basically an extended continental breakfast. They did have (my favorite) cranberry juice though.
However, it IS a luxury hotel. The four poster canopy feather beds are some of the best hotel beds I've ever slept in. There was also marble in the bathrooms and some antiquey decorations throughout the rooms.
There's a slight Econo Lodge feel to the place but it's well maintained and how can you beat cookies in the lobby? And it's definitely not a bad deal at $140.00 a night!
To start, The Farmington Inn's middle of town location can't be beat. It's within walking distance of shops, museums, and restaurants.
My room had two four poster overstuffed feather beds which were so wonderful to sink into after a long day of antiquing. The breakfast was outstanding. The serve yourself buffet offered: cereals, bagels, fruit salad, breads, pastries, waffles, coffees, teas, juices etc. Everything was fresh, fresh, fresh.
I have stayed at The Farmington Inn a few times and the great service starts at check in and continues all the way through check out..
The only reason the FI does not get five stars is that the grounds are nothing more than a parking lot. Which isn't a big deal when you have such a convenient location. I will be returning soon!
