The Farm on Putah Creek is the stuff of my "Anne of Green Gables" dreams. There's the 100-plus year-old house, the gravel driveway flanked by tall trees, the outdoor amphitheater, the simple barn--it's just bursting with potential and sings out to weddings, parties and general merriment.

It's called the Farm on Putah Creek, and the organization that runs the farm is called the Center for Land-Based Learning. The proceeds from farm rentals support their educational farm and youth programs.

As someone who coordinated a wedding here, the staff is just a dream, notably the Facilities Coordinator, Marion Adams. Easy to work with, friendly and knowledgeable, she is a true asset to this venue. More plusses about the Farm:
    - You can rent the property for the whole weekend
    - It's completely affordable
    - The house has everything you need to host a rehearsal dinner, post-wedding day breakfast including kitchen utensils (seriously they have EVERYTHING and thought of everything)
    - Composting and recycling onsite
    - A room with a private bathroom (great for the bride-to-be's staging area)
    - No neighbors for miles so you don't have to worry about noise
    - Less than 2 hours away from San Francisco
    - About a half hour from Davis
    - And acres and acres of space

If you're looking for an affordable venue, a friendly and reliable staff and lots of property to carry out your wedding or party, the Farm on Putah Creek is it! It is an absolute gem and as a green events planner, I highly recommend it for those who want to support the Center's core values and the communities they serve.

TIP: To book, go to the Web site and click on "Farm on Putah Creek" at the bottom of the home page. Then click on "Farm Rentals" and follow instructions from there.

My daughter got engaged end of July & wanted an outdoor wedding in September, so of course where she wanted wasn't available. After seeing earllier reviews we checked out the Farm on Putah Creek. She fell in love with the place. Management is very easy to work with and the site is extremely versatile. Had an outdoor ceremony and reception all on location. People are still raving about how pretty & unique the place was. What a gem!

The Farm on Putah Creek is a delightful and unique wedding venue. We planned to have our ceremony in the amphitheater and our dinner on the olive-tree lined drive, but the very unusual weather (rain! in the Central Valley! in June!) forced us to move everything inside. The week before the wedding was stressful because of these changes, but the wedding still turned out to be a beautiful event. We decorated the barn and guests were totally charmed by it. The sun emerged for some photos and we were able to take great pictures at different spots on the farm's property. It's a lovely and affordable wedding choice.

I love the Farm on Putah Creek. My husband and I were married there last weekend and everything was absolutely perfect. The farm is absolutely beautiful, I love the olive lined driveway and the rows of almond orchards.  We were married in the amphitheater and had our reception outside on the back lawn. It was perfect.

The farm manager Marion Adams was amazingly easily to work with and she was so helpful, knowledgeable, and she made sure that everything ran smoothly in the planning of our wedding. She was always available by phone or email in the months leading up to the wedding and she was there helping set things up right till the last minute on the day of. Marion was the best.

The best part about the farm is that it is run by a organization called Center for Land-Based Learning and the proceeds from farm rentals support their educational farm and youth programs, which is awesome.
