What a find.

I just spent the last few minutes writing a detailed and extensive review but I deleted it because I know you wouldn't have read it anyway. Long story short, there is nothing that isn't great about this place. The space is nice, the servers are kind and attentive, the music is perfect, and the food is superb. Best brunch I've ever had in Brooklyn -- by a mile.

It's long been a fantasy of ours to snag a seven-bedroom Victorian off of Mary Kay Gallagher, raise a gaggle of little ones, and sit on our wrap-around porch, watching them swing from the weeping willow vines.  Alas, even with the real estate bubble having burst, we're still not going to land one of these Ditmas Park homesteads for under 1.2M.  And so that gaggle plan remains but a fantasy.

In our sour grapes moments we would retort, no matter, what we might otherwise gain in bedrooms, we would ultimately lose out in nightlife and restaurants, leaving our Frankies and Buttermilk Channels behind.  But gentrification has proved us wrong: from Tibet Cafe to VoxPop to Sycamore, Courtelyou St. now more than holds its own with Court St.  So we make do by living out our Brooklyn dream vicariously, and trek out to the very best of Courtelyou, Farm on Adderley.

What's not to love here?  The staff is friendly, the prices are reasonable, the produce is local, the vegetarian options are plenty, the decor is charming, the beer list is interesting, and the food is delicious.

I'll tell you what's not to love: our fellow diners who walked here.  We hate them.

This was my first dinner at the Farm, and it blew me away. The servers and bus boys were attentive and informative, and very upbeat. Music was a little loud, but they lowered the volume for us with no fuss.

It was a busy night, yet our service was great. Everyone at our table was happy with their meals, and our server explained the best wine paring with our dinners. French fries, crisp, fresh and abundant. The rib eye was good-not the best-but very good. The broccoli rabe was sauteed in garlic perfectly. My bluefish was cooked as requested-medium rare and vegies were tasty and well seasoned. I loved the shredded brussels sprouts with  grated parmesan.

As for a good date locale: I would recommend the Farm for a date, groups, children, and anyone who wants to show off Cortelyou's up and coming night life. There's a beautiful bar, with locales hanging out-and a really good vibe. This is a good place for children who can sit and enjoy a grown up style meal. The atmosphere was friendly, warm, romantically lit.(low lighting and candles-very urban-country style interior)
The prices are on the high end-so be prepared to pay for this very special restaurant-from my own experience and my peeps who are regulars-you will not be dispappointed.

Back when I lived on Westminster Road and was just sweeping girlie off her feet with my limitless charm, this area was ghetto fabulous. Not run down like a broken project, but I had the broke up laundromat on the corner, the dingy co-op down the street and George's diner that served ham from the cold cuts packet off the shelves. Now...this is no longer that place.

I'm not against gentrification, I just find it curious. That sorry laundromat is now some kind of upscale wine store and the co-op has grown to three times its older size. And I'm not sure what Farm on Adderly used to be, but I don't remember any of the faces that work or eat there. This is a brand new world.

With that said, the whole scene seemed too yuppie for me. It's a nice-looking establishment, if a little cramped, with a roomy outside seating area. Customers sat around talking about superficial things, sent texts instead of paying attention to their dates and were all either trying to look too clean or too preppy. We just made fun of them while we ate.

Enjoyed the food. The service was satisfactory if a little aloof, the rest room was too warm, but I liked that they kept carafes of water on ice in a cooler outside the restaurant. I love cold water. The salad was average and I really liked the burger, cooked just how I like it. I guess these guys know what they're doing.

Okay bye.

Dinner or brunch - both are great options here. The burger is always good, as is the flank steak. I've had mixed experiences with fish, but it's never bad or overcooked, just a bit too "fishy" sometimes or cooked in a sauce that I don't like because it's too creamy. The salads, particularly anything they have for specials are always good choices.

They have a really nice wine selection, too, and a wait staff that knows what they're talking about. The Farm is worth the effort if you don't live in Ditmas, or in Brooklyn.

Top it off with drinks at Aberline next door.

The Farm on Adderley is one of the many hidden gems in the midst of Brooklyn. I never knew I could've taken a stroll a couple of neighborhoods away and find myself upon such a charming little restaurant with such delicious food.

As we waited to be seated (roughly a 15 minute wait on a Wednesday night), we had a beer at the bar and found ourselves very intrigued by all the little farm animal figurines they had placed in random places as decoration. After being seated, me and my friend ordered the Short Rib Ravioli, the Sirloin special with a side of curry mayo fries. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly and the service was impeccable!

Loves it!

Went for Sunday brunch, and it was surprisingly easy to get a table. My friend who lives nearby thinks it is because the neighborhood now has more options eatery-wise and doesn't have to cram themselves into this place anymore.

Coffee was amazing. Incredible beer list. Menu is terrific and unusual. Really nice atmosphere. Service lazy, food medium to AOK. If you are on a diet, trying to minimize your meat intake, or a strict vegetarian, look elsewhere.

Had brunch and the farm lived up to it's promise of farm fresh ingredients.

The burger served on an english muffin stood out.

Service was a bit slow, but the food compensated.

Lovely place tucked away in Flatbush.  Come here with the boyfriend on special occasions or brunch.  The food here is locally-sourced and really delicious.

Since most here have already commented on the yum-factor of the food, I will instead give due praise to the bloody mary's.  It came with, like, two pickles, three olives and an onion.  Basically, it came with a salad.  They should just throw some bacon bits on top.  It is pretty awesome, IMO.

Also, they serve Georgia Moonshine!

I definitely enjoy strolling over here for Brunch or Dinner. I'm a big fan of red flannel hash and here it's done up right.

The big point here, that I'm not sure people point out enough - is that - well - I'm not sure I'd travel from Williamsburg for a meal here - but if you happen to be living in the Ditmas/East Flatbush area and are looking for a nice gentrified locally sourced meal - this is really damn good. Better than the other Flatbush Farm (no relation as far as I know).

So, if you're in the neighborhood why no come out and enjoy yourself.

Always look forward to the 3 minute egg with goat cheese polenta.  Who knew this combination could be SO good!  Service is always great.  Everything is always cooked just like I ask for it (notably, I don't like bacon halfway cooked, gross....so I ask for it "extra crispy", and it's always given to me "extra crispy!"  Very nice ambience, and the garden in the summer is divine.

Delicious. Local. Sustainable. Organic. Fancy not Fussy.

These are words that describe the Farm on Adderley,

My sister, my step-sister, and her boyfriend all headed out to a "fancy" dinner while I was visiting and step-sister recommended the Farm as one of her favorite places in town.

The dark wood decor gave the place a very natural feeling (though the lighting could be improved, we could barely see the menus) and the whole place had a great casual and inviting vibe.

I had the most delicious plate of vegetables of my life. Portobellos, Peppers, Squash, Kale, Potatoes, and Zucchini they were all there creating a chorus of joy in my mouth. We washed this down with an amazingly well balanced wine that complimented the meal perfectly.

After all of this amazing food my siblings wanted more so we ordered three deserts to share: A rhubarb shortcake,  an almond butter cake, and a chocolate banana cake. The shortcake was so flaky and delicious and the almond butter cake was pretty much the best thing I've had in a while. The chocolate banana cake was a bit rich for me but still good.

If you are in Brooklyn I urge you to give this place a try!

Ok, seriously, what the hell happened to Farm on Adderley?  This was my fifth or sixth time there and the fact that I loved it all previous times is why they're getting 2 stars instead of 1.

You know when you talk someone into going to a restaurant you love, like, say, my non-adventurous brother, and then it totally sucks and you have to look down at your bad food which you've previously raved about and not make eye contact with your brother who is looking at you like "this?  this is what you thought was so good?" as he eats his WAY overcooked skirt steak.

They've reworked the menu and it's just bad.  And the drink menu, wow.  Cognac and cranberry juice?  Are you messing with us?  Seeing how ridiculous things can get and yet Farm will still be packed every night?

Terrible meal, terrible drinks, and no one is sadder about it than I am.

Local, regional yadda yadda Brooklyn New American fare at this Ditmas Park hot spot. Great dishes like califlower pasta well seasoned with a little bit of kick, to fresh beet and hearty potato bacon soup.

There is an outside garden which will be amazing with warm weather and very friendly, helpful servers.

Many locals brews available too  - yum ommegang brewery!

P.S. It's Dine in Brooklyn - essentially restaurant week with 2 -3 course pre-fixe meals for $23. Adderley is doing lunch.

This is the official designated starting point for Sunday Funday.

The beau and I have resorted to spending all day trying to accomplish as little as possible other than pure, unrestricted enjoyment...hence the reason we begin here.  For brunch we usually opt for two non-brunch items, for me the Tuna Sandwich (although I love the Bibb salad too if my appetite is not ravenous), he goes for the burger, fries and curry mayo.  Curry mayo is an essential component mind you.  Only oddity: they refuse to put bacon on the burger itself.  Even the staff laments it as odd, but you must order an entire sopping greasy dish full of bacon for the two strips needed to complete the carnivorous delight.  Why?

We have become fixtures in the corner of the bar, the weekend bartender(s) are great-they know our routine (at least 1 beer before food will be ordered) and never rush us.  We have had table service once with visitors and the experience was equally as enjoyable although the wait can be lengthy.

Thank you Farm on Adderley for making Sunday Funday a drunken, full bellied and amazing day.  And thanks for playing Devotchka.  I just love Devotchka.

Wow, I really liked this place. A couple girlfriends and I headed over here last Friday around 8 p.m. It's relaxed and casual, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. As far as the long wait goes- there was one, but we gave our number to the girl at the desk and headed next door for a drink at another bar. The Farm's bar was packed. Only one drink down and we got a phone call that a table inside was ready, so we took it.

We actually had a chance to try three fish dishes- char, trout and Pollock. All of them were really great, although I had never had char before and thought it tasted strangely like salmon. Typically, I shy away from the freshwater taste of trout, but the Farm did it well because I actually liked the fresh grilled and filleted piece. The Pollock stood out as my favorite, as it was light and sweet and smothered in a pureed carrot sauce and topped with some sliced pea pods.

YUM!

What's one more review praising this gentrified establishment?

The fries, need no mention because it is just a known fact that they are the most beloved and treasured of all the carbs you could ruin your life with

I mainly come for brunch and get an egg meal. The eggs are always cooked to perfection. Perfect portions to be satisfied but not disgusted. Most meals are served with a delicious fresh boston lettuce side salad that tastes like it was just picked.

The service is really good, but you'll be expected to leave after your meals complete on the weekends because there's usually a wait

Please, please do yourself a favor (but your body NONE) and get the Cinnamon apple french toast. It is as close as french toast can come to an orgasm. Do it. It's like sleeping with your best friends ex. You shouldn't do it, but you know for a fact it's going to be amazing.

Only down sides are a) the wait; b) i can't frequent so much because they aren't exactly recession friendly with the prices and c) there are so many urban outfitters fedoras hiding last nights hair talking about intellectual idiocracy it might be hard to pay attention to your food

Never had a bad meal here. Always crowed ( a good sign ), always friendly. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Food is always top notch.

Only note; during a brunch recently I wanted an extra egg, apparently there is a strict no substitutions clause here. I was offered the egg but at $3. I rethought ordered from the menu and enjoyed.  Small kitchen, high volume, not a diner, I get it. Not a deal breaker for me.

Highly recommended.

I had a lovely, lovely evening here.

I ended up just ordering a bunch of sides, which was awesome. The fries are good, but I don't know if they're worth as much hype as they get. The curry mayo that comes with them, however, is deserving of any and all praise.

They have an impressive menu, but I think sticking to the simpler homey dishes is the way to go. It's such a comforting space that I found myself wanting comforting food to match it.

I also was all about their alcohol selection. The savory horseradish martini is surprisingly delicious, though I might suggest splitting one with everyone at the table because downing a whole one is quite a feat. The Bard alum cocktail was INSANELY strong...My dinner companion literally thinks the drink gave him a fever. I think that is silly of him to think that something like that could happen with such a serious, brooding drink.

overall, the restaurants on Courtelyou street are just rocking it, with the farm on Adderley leading the way.

My girlfriend and I went here last night, the day before Valentine's day, cleverly beating the crowds that are sure to show up tonight.

Everything we had was delicious. Since this was our Valentine's dinner, we went all out. We started with the cheese plate, featuring four of the best cheeses I have ever tasted. For dinner, I had the orecchiette with lamb and butternut squash, and she had short rib ravioli, which was one of the night's specials. While both were delicous, there has perhaps never been a more ingenious plate than the rib ravioli. It was barbecued pork in ravioli, people! SO GOOD.

For dessert, we went with the chocolate panna cotta served candied hazelnuts and blood oranges. OH MAN. It was one of the tastiest flan-like desserts I had ever had.

But of course this review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the drinks. My lady friend had an interesting winter drink made with apple cider and bacon-flavored vodka (as good as it sounds - which might not be good if it doesn't sound good) and I had 12-yr Elijah Craig bourbon, which delightfully burned my lips throughout the entire night.

Great service, great atmosphere, a great place to have in the neighborhood (which is actually next to mine).

not many places have a drink special called the "Bard Alum" and you can be in on the joke. I am not a bourbon drinker though so this was sort of money down the drain.

I was hemming and hawing about what entree to get so i opted to make a meal of apps and sides. Cauliflower soup with an oyster fritter-creamy and yummy despite the fact that in its raw form I cannot stand cauliflower. The Bibb salad-has its namesake lettuce, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries and goat cheese fritters. Finally the french fries with curry mayo.

Then I opted for dessert which was Chocolate, Banana upside down cake-to die for.

This nice meal made it a little less bitter to return outside into the snow and a Q train issue getting home.

The Farm has the advantage of being in a fine dining desert. Our group of five was impressed in general with the quality of the food and the service.  Fries were good, mushroom fritters were weird. I had the chop which was OK but not really worth the price. Service was really great.

Not much to say that hasn't been said (blah blah) but they don't take reservations and at 7:30 on a Saturday we waited at least (at least) a half an hour.

I also think it is overpriced. But maybe I am just an unsophisticated rube from Chicago. Oh hell, I know I am.

I went here with some friends for brunch.  Everything was wonderful, and having such a fantastic restaurant in the neighborhood is pretty awesome.

I had the Farmer's Breakfast (scrambled eggs, swiss chard, home fries and brioche), which was absolutely delicious.  Some of the people I was with had the Fisherman's breakfast and the eggs & grits, all of which were great.  Bloody Mary was excellent, coffee was very good, and our waiter was attentive.

The decor of the place is very nice, and the space is very well used.  I plan to go back for brunch as soon as possible, and I also want to try dinner there.

I grew up in this area and when this restaurant popped up I was a bit skeptical, so it took some time before I decided to go in.

I'm not crazy about this place, but it is on my block so it gets an extra star for convenience. If I really wanted good food I would hop on the train and take a 20-30 min ride to the E. Vill.

I enjoyed the french fries and curry-mayo sauce as well as their roasted potatoes, but I was slightly annoyed when my hamburger came to me on an English muffin. I found that somewhat pretentious. I also found the prices to be a bit steep for the neighborhood. Cinco De Mayo, which has been in the neighborhood longer is much cheaper! However, service was very nice and friendly!

I haven't been back there for food since the hamburger fiasco. I do occasionally meet up with my old friends from the neighborhood to get beers there. They have a decent beer menu. I have gotten very drunk many-a-time off the Porter. Decent price for the beer too.

This past year it has been getting insanely crowded, so I have been choosing less crowded places. Also, it's better in the summer because they have beautiful outdoor seating in the back.

If you like trendy neighborhood spots, this place is for you. However, if you're like me and prefer a quiet setting you might want to stay away in the evening and opt for a mid-day meal.

Let me first say that I am giving four stars for quality of food and price, and a whole nother star for service.  I have been coming to the Farm since it opened three years ago; when they had a Maker's Mark open bar to celebrate it's anniversary of several months.

I love the Farm.  The food here is never sub-par, and every bartender knows how to make excellent drinks.  They make one of the best burgers I have ever had; grass-fed beef (for those of you that care about that kind of thing).  The fries are pretty good too, and though my boyfriend hates the curry mayo, I love it.

That said about the burger, I ended a 13 year run as a vegetarian recently, so most of what I have had here has been of the ovo-lacto vegetarian variety.  This is a place that a vegetarian can feel comfortable that there will be at least one dinner entree option, as well as several salads that are interesting and tasty.  For those that lean towards pescetarianism, the tuna sandwich on the brunch/lunch menu is lovely, and I have heard only good things about the fish options at dinner.  I will say that I had pork tenderloin here recently that was only ok, but I think that's only because I don't really like pork unless it's bacon.

I agree, the mimosas here are not that great; I think the OJ they use is gross.  However, the bloody marys are AMAZING.

For a saturday evening I was expectting a long line based on the reviews but we were seated right away.  Place was very narrow but nicely decorated.  Staff was friendly. The crowd seemed to be mostly made  of locals who lived around the area.

I liked the variety of their menu. The salad appetizer's were delicious. Alright, I don't get all the fuss  for the fries. Frankly, they just taste like regular fries to me. curry mayo they came with just tasted my mayo. There I said it!.  My bf had the hamburger which was pretty tasty. I went for the steak...didn't find it that great. should've went with the fish. Dessert portions were small and tame.

Overall, nice dining experience. I was especially grateful for the small commute

Is it possible to be in love with a menu? To have a crush on a french fry?  To long for a dessert?

I moved to my neighborhood because of the Farm on Adderley.  There, I said it.  There have been times when I have needed the comfort of their garden.  Times when I craved their tuna or portobello sandwich (it helps to go with a friend so you can go half-half.)   but mostly I crave the feeling of comfort I get when I sit down at one of their rustic tables, order myself their stout on tap, and dip my first fry into their gloriously yellow curry mayo.

It is the first restaurant I take out of towners to, and always my go-to for nights I don't feel like cooking.

Their menu inspired,  the staff amiable, and the food always tasty.

Farm on Adderley, I love you.

This place is too good.

I've only gone for brunch but it is by far the best brunch within reasonable distance to my place. (I live in midwood, ugh.) I went with a friend after a night of heavy drinking -- we shared 3 plates and everything was insanely good.
Friendly help.
10 minute wait for 2 people, but it looked like it'd be a lot more if you're party is larger than that.

Best place for a burger and fries.  No joke, the fries are crispy and served with this curry concotion which is just adictive.  Warning, they tend to undercook there burgers.  Medium/well looked more like medium.  Tends to get really packed on the weekends.

Very cute and rustic inside with dark wood walls and a full glass back wall that opens into a lush outdoor patio when the weather is nice.
The fries really are to die for - they couldn't be more perfect in size and shape or more fresh, complete with skins and a side of delicious yellow curry sauce to dip them in. We also ordered a burger, brussel sprouts and an endive salad, all of which were extremely tasty.

The service was great as well. I think the menu changes seasonally so I can't wait to go back and try more.

Finger-licking good pork chops (locally grown and humanly cared for meat) with an indescribable smoky sauce and bean puree. PERFECT!

Farm-fresh brunch, nice garden area, attentive (but not fussy or pushy) service, good prices. Good coffee. Two of us had the farmer's breakfast, one had the french toast, and one had an omelet. All delicious. Had a really great time, will definitely be back.

My friend, who lives in the area, kept telling me that there's a great place by him if only I came out to his 'nabe to hang out more. I kept ignoring him, not believing that there could be anything more fruitful than middle-eastern fare ( no complaints).
Today at brunch I found out just how wrong I was! They only take reservations for groups of 5 or more so we 3 just walked in at 1 and were seated promptly. A larger group was waiting at the bar and the place seemed packed. To get a sense of the patronage: several tables were playing "pass the baby".  The front and middle of the restaurant was kind of dim but we were seated all the way in the back and it was nice and brite, if it wasn't drizzly the back patio would have been lovely. The service was good, not overly in your face but there to do their server thing when you need them.
We decided to go to this place over Dine in Brooklyn participants because the menu is not prohibitively expensive anyway.
Between us we had the Bloody Mary, Mimosa, Coffee as drinks; all yummy. I had the scrambled eggs with home fries chard and brioche, my friends had the croque monsiour and the fishermen's breakfast I think....poached eggs over smoked herring salad and potato pancake: very yummy. To polish off the meal we shared the dulce de leche cake. Perfect little treat, not too sweet and well flavored.

Honestly, the Farm on Adderley does not need any more good reviews. However, I just had lunch there and I'm still daydreaming about the portobello sandwich... so I figured I should join in on the Farm-praising on Yelp.

This restaurant is located on Cortelyou & Stratford Rds. in the Ditmas Park neighborhood. For someone coming from Staten Island, this is a wee bit out of the way. However, it is only 5-10 minutes by car from Brooklyn College (my alma mater and current place of work) and about 4 blocks from the Cortelyou Rd. stop on the Q train. The only parking available is on the street so it is sometimes difficult to find a spot. However, your appetite (and anticipation) only grows in the time you spend circling the neighborhood... so the Farm's exquisite cuisine tastes that much better once you're finally inside and seated.

As someone mentioned previously, the food has a very upscale presentation at a very reasonable price. We stopped in here for lunch today and paid $30 (+ $6 tip) for lunch for 3. Both my boyfriend and my friend ordered the tuna sandwich (with roasted tomatoes, capers, olives, and basil) on country bread (which is delectably soft on the inside and surprisingly crispy on the outside) for $8 apiece. I ordered the portobello sandwich (with mozzarella, sundried tomato, pesto, arugula, and red onion) on a baguette, also for $8. Each sandwich came with a side of mixed greens that complemented each sandwich perfectly. We also enjoyed a generous serving of French fries with curry mayonnaise for $4.

I'm seriously drooling as I'm writing this. I would sample their entire lunch menu if only it weren't for my decision to remove meat from my diet. Unfortunately, there are only a few items on their menu that are vegetarian-friendly: portobello sandwich (which I've tried and wholeheartedly recommend; see above), peas 'n lettuce (bibb lettuce, sweet peas, buttermilk dressing, and crispy leeks), bread & dip plate (assorted toasted breads, hummus, tabouli, and roasted eggplant), and the various toast options (ricotta & roasted garlic, grilled eggplant, roasted tomato & olive oil, and butternut squash & parmesan). However, my veggie sandwich filled me up. It is 5 hours later and I'm still quite content. (So content, in fact, that I cannot stop thinking about my lunch.)

I'm not big on alcohol (especially at 12 PM and right before work) so I cannot say anything about their selection. I just know that they have a full bar, as well as beer & wine lists that look reasonably priced. If you're ever unsure about what to order with your entree, you can ask the very helpful waitstaff.

Speaking of which, I love the Farm's waiters. They're friendly and upbeat, and never pretentious. They seem really eager to make sure that you're enjoying your stay.

I love the Farm on Adderley... and recommend it to everyone.
