Kallah Maguire is a clothes lover's best friend! She may be the most talented personal stylist to ever roam the planet -- or at least since the invention of the sewing machine. Kallah is not only fashion savvy, with her finger on the hot button pulse of what's on-trend in the world of fashion, but she's got a rare gift for knowing exactly what looks amazing on a girl...or guy! I once told Kallah what sort of dress I was looking for to wear to a black-tie affair, and within 10 seconds -- and I am not exaggerating -- she picked out the absolute most perfect dress...and at an insanely reasonable price! She literally saved me weeks of shlepping around to department stores and boutiques for ugly, broing, sub-par cocktail frocks. Kallah's styling services are worth their weight in gold! Book her now!

my boyfriend surprised me with some time with kallah for my christmas present last year and it couldn't have been better! we started with the closet audit and followed with a day long shopping extravaganza the following weekend. kallah really helped me see my body and my wardrobe and myself in a different light. i was in a serious rut and she pulled me right out! we got rid of clothes that i had been hanging on to for way too long and pieces that i thought made me look good but realized were making me look the opposite.
kallah is genuine and thoughtful and i could be totally honest with her about everything. she pulled clothes for me that i love and i now love wearing. shopping will definitely never be the same, i've learned things from her that will last a lifetime.

Kallah & The Emerald Scarab has been a huge asset for me! Her wealth of knowledge when it comes to fashion and style, to the industry, up-and-coming designers or under-the-radar boutiques is information I would now find it hard to live without.
The entire process, from the "Closet Audit" to the shopping and the styling is seamless and enjoyable and for someone who doesn't really enjoy shopping, Kallah has turned my entire perception around. Whether you're a shopper at heart or find the whole experience stressful (as I used to) Kallah and her team will blow you way. Imagine walking into a shop with a true professional who already knows what your personal style entails, what will fit you correctly, the current trends, etc... All you have to do is try on the clothes, get priceless styling tips and pay for the stuff you pick. It doesn't get much simpler or better than this!!
The sessions I've had with Kallah have already paid for themselves both by the amount of compliments and the ensuing self-esteem boost I've gotten :) (Thanks Kallah!!) as well as by not wasting money on over-priced designer items that I have no idea how to wear and they just waste away in my closet or by stupid impulse buys that also do nothing for me.
So to anyone who is considering the help of a knowledgable, fun, outgoing & super friendly stylist/shopper I highly recommend Kallah & The Emerald Scarab. Your sessions with her will be the most fun and informative shopping experiences you will ever have! -

This is an experience of a lifetime!!!
Honestly, Kallah helped me take charge of my wardrobe, and feel great in what I was wearing. I'm a female, in a male driven profession and really need to wear outfits that showed that I smart, successful, and savvy. Kallah really made sure I purchased key components to enhance my wardrobe that were still in my budget. I loved everything!
Kallah works with people with various spending options, I however had a very tight budget. Never once did she make me feel like I wouldn't be able to get much or have me try something on that was out of my allotted funds.
I had so much fun shopping with Kallah, I can't wait to go again! -

I had no idea what I was getting into when i first called Kallah. I gotta' say she surpassed all my expectations. Not only did we realize that everything I owned I didnt wear or really even like, but she helped me find an entirely new style. After getting rid of 10 bags of clothes and emptying my walk in closet, we refilled with new clothes I now wear and love, all within the budget I gave her. Even better, I now know what to look for when clothes shopping. Kallah rocks!

A friend of mine with immaculate style referred me to Emerald Scarab to upgrade my look. When I found out how much personal styling cost, I was like, "No way, I'd rather spend the money on clothes." My friend pushed and I finally went for it.
Working with Kallah has been the bargain of my life, I'm serious -- in a very positive way, she has altered the way people perceive me; she has altered the way I feel about myself.
She has saved me a bundle by hooking me up with the clothes that work best for the unique "look" she and I created for me - this, as opposed to my usual habit of blowing money on mis-matched styles and wasteful bargains, has been a huge money saver.
Another money saver has been Kallah's rejuvenation of my existing wardrobe (the stuff that wasn't hideous.) She went through my closet and then set-out to find the best new clothes/accessories that would add style and energy to my current stuff. Shirts that I felt *blah* about now seem new and cool again when worn with Kallah's suggestions. This woman just knows how to make it work!
Here's some of the process behind her magic:
1. She asks me to email ideas about the styles I like.
2. We meet in person and she interviews me. She asks more questions about my favorite styles, varying needs for clothing (work, social, etc.), music tastes and even about my favorite type of coffee (you'll discover why when you work with her :)
3. She shows me a bunch of photos from various fashion books and magazines that she has bookmarked based on my email; we begin creating a new personal look.
4. She pre-shops for me.
5. Three days later we hit the stores. Upon arrival at each store, clothes are already hanging in the dressing room -- I feel like a rock star. 99% of what Kallah has chosen is BADASS and within my budget. 99% is stuff I'd never find by myself.
My only complaint is that didn't I do this years ago. -

I was really excited about having Kallah come and audit my closet, but I could have never guessed what an amazing experience it would turn out to be.
At the end of the audit, I had 14 bags of clothes and shoes to donate and it felt really liberating. I was excited about going shopping with her, but a bit anxious about whether or not she would understand what was appropriate for my life.
I am a stay at home mother of two toddlers, and over the last four years, I've lost myself a bit. I feel like Kallah has not only helped me reclaim myself, but she's enabled me to be the me I've wanted to be. For the first time, I feel put together, and stylish, but in a really effortless way. I don't feel like I've become too high maintenance or that I can't be the Mommy I want to be.
She was able to capture the simple casual, yet interesting style that I really was searching for. No more tired, sloppy Mommy! I can get ready in a snap, be out the door and look fabulous.
I would have never accomplished this on my own and I was amazed by how well Kallah was able to hear and see what I needed and provide that. And yet, she still was able to challenge me and she showed me pieces that I would never have otherwise tried.
She was funny and yet still sensitive to how daunting this process can be. I feel like I can now take care of myself and my children while being a good example for them. She's helped me find balance.
It was so much more than just shopping. -

Completely fun! Kallah made "starting over" a beautiful experience. We raided my closet and only kept the creme de la creme. While sipping tea and enjoying the yummiest treat from Figaro Bistro (check it out!), we discussed my fantasy wardrobe: colors, styles, what kind of clothing makes me feel good, sexy, confident, beautiful! We set a date for shopping and met the next week. Wow! Kallah had previewed pieces all over Los Angeles ... I tried things on and together we ooo'd and aaaah'd as I chose the pieces that fit my fantasy. I needed a lot of basics and Kallah found amazing pieces that somehow went together like magic. My time with Kallah was the most incredible birthday gift! Her fashion sense (and connections) and her sensitivity to my needs combined with my budget made shopping a breeze! Thank you, Kallah! Kallah took the time to understand what my needs are, and what my budget was, and then she went to work.
She located sales, she contacted stores, she researched shoes . . . basically, she did it all for me . . . all I had to do was show up, try things on (that were already set aside, in my size) and pay for the clothes.
People keep complimenting me on how sharp I look . . . I don't always tell them about the incredible sale prices I got it all for . . . but I always tell them about Kallah. -

Kallah is such a gift to busy women (and men!) who want to feel good about themselves and their image. She helped me weed through my closet that was cluttered with items from the 90s, bad colors and shapes that did not flatter me. Then thoughtfully prepared a day of shopping for me that ended with a new and improved wardrobe that fit my shape, my lifestyle and my budget. Best of all, I made a new friend!

I walked away my experience with Kallah in satisfaction, awe, excitement and best of all, in utter amusement at myself for having underestimated what a simple shopping trip could bring: the most productive, efficient and well-spent four hours worth of fun, high-energy, eye-opening adventure. The best part? She is thoroughly a wonderful being- passionate, thorough, meticulous, and talented- she has the ability to bring out your very best; pulling out pieces you'd never thought of but are simply jaw dropping! If I could sum up the tangible benefits, I would have say that the experience has more than paid for itself with the quality, unique pieces that she was able to procure at an "insider's" discounted rate (who knew?!). We walked in with all the preselected clothes that she had handpicked and went to town! I'm now thoroughly convinced that there is no better way to shop than to go through Kallah, who could not only work with your budget but ensure that every piece is timeless and valuable. This really is an experience of a lifetime- I can no longer imagine wasting valuable time, going through stores, plowing through racks of clothes only to find that I'd wear it once or twice. Kallah is truly an asset- I'm so happy to have found her!

Awesome day of shopping! Kallah has several styling packages available or you can go a la carte. I talked with Kallah and decided on one day of shopping.
The day before shopping, Kallah visited many boutiques and set out clothing for me based on my style and price point.
We had been discussing via phone and email for several weeks before our shopping day regarding what I was looking for and what I wanted to get out of our shopping trip.
Our shopping trip took us to great little boutiques around the city. Typical LA boutiques are super expensive, but we were able to find some sale items for me as well as some non-sale items at really great price points. At one of the stores, I got some rad boots that Kallah talked them down 40%
We were greeted very kindly by all the shop owners/employees, some presented us with wine, cheese, crackers, etc. We did want to fit all the stores in by the end of our shopping day, but we had time to relax a bit, visited an amazing coffee shop, and have some snacks.
At the end of the day, not only was it a fun shopping experience, I was able to purchase some pieces that are a great complement to my existing wardrobe. Also, I will be able to return to those "new" stores!

Kallah really knows the in's and out's of LA and International fashion. I was incredibly impressed with her knowledge of fantastic unique boutiques and her ability to "get" my style immediately. Are you ever in a rush to get to an event? Do you search frantically though your closets to find that one outfit that will give the best first impression? Do you ever wonder where you are going to find clothes that not only fit and are in style, but more importantly clothes that fit your style? Kallah can take these worries away. Not only does Kallah knows fashion and style, but she always pays attention to what is your personal particular style and need. And then. You have your perfect wardrobe or outfit when you want it. Not two days later when you see it in a boutique after your special event has passed. Kallah is the one to call when you want to look your best.

I can't believe how long it's been since I wrote my first Chic Shopping review! So the hubb's did get the make-over package and boy was it amazing, I got a shiny, handsome and well dressed husband after two sessions! Going into the process he was excited but also worried that he would get bored before he could finish the task of going through his closet and then the day of shopping... He didn't need to worry though, Kallah was so quick that when they finished his closet he said "That's it, were already done!?" And then when they went shopping a few days later (I tagged along too) Kallah had every store mapped out, items put a side for him, and discounts all set up and ready to go! So in the end it was a long day, but we all three had fun, my hubby got an amazingly improved wardrobe, and best of all now his friends are subtly asking him what he's doing differently (aka how did you become so stylish so quickly) We've already referred a few of them to Chic Shopping! It's like our semi secret fashion weapon!
My 2nd update is about the Private Shopping Tour that Chic Shopping offers, we gifted it to my husbands parents when they were in town and they loved it. My inlaws always insist on staying at a hotel when the come to visit because they like the room service, massages, etc. We always try to find something unique and personalized to do for them when they are here and the Private shopping tour was their favorite so far! Kallah met them at their hotel with a private car and driver and proceeded to take them around LA to shop at boutiques and stores that I've not even heard of (even after two shopping days where I didn't know any of those stores!). They both got to pick up some great clothes for themselves as well as gifts for everyone back home, they were treated to coffee in the morning at the stores and champagne in the afternoon! Update! We did go shopping after the last post (closet edit), and it was great. Lots of fun, she really had an efficient system down for each of the stores we went to, and had actually preshopped each of the stores so there were things ready for me to try on when we got there. I got some business attire (very suave!) and a few casual things. Kallah is awesome!

Ok, getting tired of hassling with Yelp, third try is a charm posting reviews??? Geez... as I mentioned last time, I posted this before, and Yelp gave me trouble. Lets give it (yet) another go!
Well, I just wanted to say, I had a great experience with Emerald Scarab, Ms. Kallah Maguire provided excellent, patient and knowledgeable advice on colors, current styles, and classic looks. I was in dire need of a general update, including a wardrobe audit, and eventually a full day of shopping. I got a bunch of great casual / nice looks for my off days, and some sweet professional duds as well for my office 9-5.
I would definitely recommend this service to my friends, really to anyone who would like to take it up a notch. I think I might actually have Kallah work with my mom when she visits LA this summer...
