After some difficulty scheduling my stay, I was finally able to make it to this Hotel my friends were all telling me about. Apparently it was recently renovated and I REALLY like the marble throughout the hotel.
I supposedly booked a suite, but the room was no larger (possibly smaller) than a typical room at another DC hotel. My door creaked so loundly, when I open the door to leave one morning, by neighboring hotel guests actually came out to scorn me for waking them. And I've got to say this place is just not designed well at all - uber long hallways made me wish I had rented a golf cart to haul my luggage to my room - no wonder the doorman would not help me take my luggage to my room!
Speaking of which, the service was very unexpectedly average in every aspect. The doorman who refused to help me with my luggage was only the tip of the iceberg.
I decided to have breakfast downstairs one morning and was pleasantly surprised. Their stuffed french toast was so good I hesitated to order another. I hear the bar is very happening but I unfortunately was not able to check it out.
All in all a nice hotel but very pricey for the room size and service provided.

I've stayed at the Jurys twice for business, and generally enjoyed my stays there. It's located in a decent spot for dinner & drinks, but Biddy Mulligan's within the hotel isn't a bad option either. It's easily accessible to the subway, and I found myself exploring more of DC because of the vicinity the hotel is to everything. There might be other hotels closer to the action, but this place does well enough and it has a bit of class to it as well.
I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay that doesn't mind learning the subway system.
Cute hotel... had a few issues but overall fairly decent.
It was really cheap on the weekend but the weekday rate was significantly higher, which I guess is pretty normal for hotels that are business appropriate.
We didn't try either, but their restaurants looked cute... One is the Dupont Grille, the other is Biddy's..
The location can't be beat--it's right on Dupont Circle... tons of bars/restaurants/cafes/convenience stores in the area... nice park space nearby. Across the street from the Metro.
Our bathroom was the sink/vanity/mirror on the outside, toilet/shower inside kinda thing... The actual bathroom wasn't cruddy or old but was starting to be slightly outdated as compared with other hotels.
Bed was comfortable enough.
It's nice that there's hotels out there that still let you crack windows open to get fresh air... One side of our window was really, really broken.
Didn't have any noise issues..
They totally didn't clean our room one day though? after returning to our room in the late afternoon or so we called to ask, and it was apparently too much work for them to get someone to come by, so we just got fresh towels. And I think they tried to say we requested it to not be cleaned, which of course we didn't?
Desk staff was pretty nice. The door men were helpful. Valet was a bit slow once, but then we just called ahead well ahead of time the rest of the time and were OK.
Had our rate been the higher weekday rate, I'd probably rate it lower... but for the price we paid it was probably a good choice even with the small issues we had.

Ok, I have stayed at my share of hotels, as well as worked in a few, so why is it so hard to write this review?
This hotel is not anything special on the exterior, but conveniently located near the Metro, shops, restaurants and bars.
The lobby is boutique like, with an active fireplace in a little lounge area, off to the right of the front desk. It is elegantly decorated and well maintained. Additionally, on the ground floor there are two restaurants, one casual and pub-like, while the other is more upscale.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and acknowledges every guest as they pass. There wasn't one time that I passed that a Bellman wasn't ready to assist with luggage, directions or hailing a cab.
The rooms are on the small side, but are clean, with updated decor and amenities. The only inconvenience is that the only mirrors are in the bathroom, which does not work well with two women sharing a room.
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in the area.

I've had many interactions with Jury's Dupont and I'm always pleased with the environment and service. I've attended a conference here, and the facilities are nice and, of course, in a convenient location. My 'rents stayed here for a week while in town and were able to get a reasonable rate, plus had a large room with a view of Dupont Circle, and breakfast (a large buffet breakfast) was included. The staff was always very warm, friendly, and helpful. They also have a pub, Biddy Milligan's that has an entrance into the lobby-- not that there is a lack of dining and drinking establishments in the area, but people actually go to Biddy's so it's not a depressing hotel bar!
All in all, I'd recommend staying at Jury's from my experience-- you couldn't ask for a better location right on Dupont and near a metro stop-- and definitely watch out for the internet specials for rooms.

I almost feel guilty writing a review based solely on their public restroom. But they're just hard to come by in Dupont.
Their bathroom is easily accessible to the general public. Just go through the front doors and turn right--the front desk people have never given me problems. And I refuse to ask the Starbucks people for a key and I refuse to ask the Kramerbooks people for a bathroom token.

Usually, I stay at the cramped, overpriced J.W. Marriott Pennsylvania Avenue when my company has a conference in D.C. But lucky me - it was sold out the day of the conference and I was forced elsewhere. Jurys was the only hotel in the Downtown area with rooms available. Overall, I rate it much higher than the J.W., although slightly lower than Marriott Metro Center.
This is a good place to stay if you want to be in a vibrant area with easy access to the Metro. The staff is courteous and quick to help you. However, if you plan to connect your laptop via Ethernet cable, bring your own - theirs was broken. And beware of the minibar - if you even open the door, the sensor may charge you. I didn't know I drank a bottle of Jack Daniels - but apparently, it was common enough a problem that they removed the charge in the blink of an eye.

I stayed her for 5 days as part of an executive MBA class in July 2006. The location is wonderful, except for the street music. The hotel claimed there was nothing they could do, but the music blared out the window until 11 pm along New Hampshire Ave.! (Other students with rooms facing P Street didn't hear it though.)
The rooms are very small compared to other hotels, but are very comfortable for a single person. My room was on the 5th floor and the A/C couldn't keep the room cool. Other students on my floor experienced the same problem. Students on the 6th floor experienced it more and a few changed rooms, but they were stuck on the same floor with the same problem. My group was over 50 people and those of us who were checked in last were given the higher floors. When we subsequently requested lower floors we were told they didn't have any available. I suspect the hotel recognizes the cooling problem.
Room service and the meeting facilities are quite good. When my wife joined me at the end of the program we went to the Omni and enjoyed it more. I would recommend if you choose this hotel during the summer, get a room no higher than the 4th floor and facing P street. The only other annoyance was an elevator constantly was not working and it changed shafts daily. Many of us found ourselves waiting for an elevator for quite some time and choose to take the stairs instead.

Excellent hotel for meeting purposes. I've held small group meetings here, as well as attended larger meetings. Excellent location right outside the metro. Close to National Airport (I'll NEVER call it "Reagan" National Airport), and nestled next to shops, restaurants, tourist sites, etc.
Agree with previous reviewer that if you're planning meeting with overnight guests, put in the contract to place people in block of rooms facing P street or New Hampshire Avenue, not Connecticut Avenue, esp. if they are on low floors.

I can't remember what the nicer restaurant in this hotel is called, but that's where I ate. I had a giant piece of grilled fish with some rice, and it was delicious, but then the waiter made a rude comment about how quickly I ate it, because I was done by the time he came to ask us how everything was. Why make snarky comments when I clearly enjoyed the food? That kind of thing makes me not want to go back! I also had this banana cheesecake cannoli conconction which was big on creativity but lame on taste.
I agree with the person above who complimented the hotel's restrooms. These are really, really nice restrooms, with lotion and everything, and the staff doesn't mind if the public uses them. When you enter, go to the right where the sign says the ballrooms are. Keep going down the (small) hall, and the bathrooms are on the end.

When I got married in October 2006, we used Jury's for our room blocks and for the morning-after brunch.
The hotel was wonderful with the room blocks. They extended the block and were able to deal with some complex arrangements with my suite, since we were moving in and out throughout the weekend as my husband and I headed to our wedding night hotel. The front desk staff was wonderfully responsive and the bellmen and valets were so kind.
On my wedding day, the hotel staff was able to efficiently deal with all of the cars leaving at once, in addition to our two limos parked out front.
The catering staff did a terrific job with brunch and, in general, things went off without a hitch. The hotel's recent renovation is lovely as well.

being a DCer it must be odd to find me yelping about a hotel, but i think that this is one to yelp about.. recently i got engaged and had an engagement party in the area.. so we were looking for a hotel that was clean, close to the metro, and of course attached to a kick butt bar.. ..
that led my search to the jury's washington hotel. Reasonably priced for the area ( around a 100 i think for the nite).. and with friendly concierge and a valet parking guy who knows the directions to EVERYTHING... this was definitely a great choice... the rooms were clean, and decently priced. the bathroom tub was huge and i'm sure lots of couples will take advantage of that! **wink wink**.

As an event planner I tend to be fairly critical of every aspect of each hotel I stay at. I know that if I notice a problem, I can guarantee that I will have at least one person in my group complain about it and expect me to fix it.
For the second year in a row I have planned a week-long professional development course at the Jury's and for the second year I have been happy. When we first arrived we had a lot of complaints about the cooling systems in the rooms and by the next day each unit was either changed or people we given another room. We were also given a discount for those two days.
The staff is uber friendly and the rates are not bad, especially for the DC area. The catering is really good as are the two restaurants in the hotel (Dupont Grille and Biddy Mulligans).
It is conveniently located right off the Dupon Metro and close to a CVS (a necessity for those who always get to a hotel and realize they forgot their toothbrush).
I can pretty much guarantee that we will return again next year.

Great location, but lousy hotel. Apparently, it's been renovated, but something happened along the way, and it feels half-done. Our first room's A/C didn't work - clicked throughout the night, heated floors didn't work, no fridge where there could be one, no iron, water lukewarm in the morning. Moved to new room because they couldn't fix the A/C unit; in new room, TV didn't work, windows looking out over Dupont Circle filthy. Conference rooms near room unfinished with doors open fall all to see the mess. Feels like staying in a third-world hotel -pretty on the outside, shambles on the inside.
We had such a great experience here. The Catering Manager took excellent care of us. My husband and I got married in one of their banquet rooms in October of 2003. At that time, they were renovating the patio off of the restaurant (Dupont Grille). The restaurant and hotel look even better now. The room rate can't be beat with their location - right off the circle. We took photos right on the fountain in the circle and they are awesome.

My mom loved this hotel for thanksgiving 2006. Her taste are pretty spartan, and she found in luxurious. I found it great to have her only 6 blocks from my house, but closer to the metro stop. Otherwise, the 'rental units might have gotten even more tired in the cultural oasis of DC. It was convenient to drop them off there. They felt like they were in the city. Oh, and they weren't staying with me (my brother and his fiancee were in the tiny guestroom instead).

I love Jurys Hotels but was not happy at the Jurys Washington Hotel. Our room was dirty with broken light fixtures and they came to clean the room at 5 pm! We also asked the front desk for a fork twice and it never came.
