The team here are on the cutting edge of dog training techniques and very effective with their craft.  They are all very sweet, warm and kind individuals.

I came to them with a dog reactivity problem.  Sherry Boyer came to my home and worked with my dog and I for 5 hours.  She does not normally have house calls for that length of time, but she was determined to figure out my dog's mentality and the best techniques for her.

Sherry studied everything my dog did in a variety of situations to build up a clear behavior profile of my dog.  Then I could see the wheels turning in Sherry's head!  She was not going to just tell me some out-of-the-textbook technique, she wanted to devise a plan that could work with my individual dog.  Sherry finally had her "Ah Ha!" moment and we worked on the techniques together.  To end our session, we went into my house to sit at the kitchen table and go over everything we had just done.  We wrote down her suggestions and discussed them more thoroughly.  She explained the sources of her ideas, the theory behind the source, and the modifications she was making to them in order to best work with the situation my dog and I were in.

My dog felt no more stress than "worried" while with Sherry.  She was always conscious of what my dog was experiencing and explored my dog's comfort limits to make sure she worked within my dog's comfort zone.  This created an encouraging and stress-free environment for my dog to work in.

I was left with a feeling of hope and optimism.  I felt inspired and energized.  I have worked with 5 different dog training teams, and Sherry Boyer made me feel more empowered than all of the others combined.

I also enrolled in their leash monsters class lead by Sue.  This was a wonderful experience for my dog.  They did everything they could to set up environments to gradually expose the dogs to triggers.  They were able to engage with their community and bring in many calm, neutral dogs to be around our reactive dogs.

Sue and Sherry truly want to help you to the best of their abilities.  You can tell that they love what they do, and they enjoy working with dogs and engaging with the dogs' owners.

This place has been like manna from heaven for my Akita-Malamute mix Kody.  We rescued Kody, fell in love with him, and then quickly learned that the rescue had not been so forthcoming about many, many things (such as dog aggression and fear aggression towards humans penning him in).

Sherry, who owns Dog House Inn, is a great trainer.  She's patient and never makes you feel like you're in the wrong with the dog.  It's also nice because bad dogs don't scare her.  Dog House Inn is an extension of Sherry.  The staff are super helpful, and you can tell how much they love dogs.  They've been really accomodating on several occasions with drop offs and pick-ups.  Within a few hours, it seemed, they had my dog trusting them and letting them pet him.

I like how they split the dogs up.  There's a large area for dogs who are okay in large packs and smaller areas for dogs that are okay in small packs and individual spaces for dogs that don't like other dogs.

And unlike most dog boarding facilities of quality, this place is totally affordable.  If you need your dog boarded and you want a place that is completely trustworthy, I say bring your dog nowhere else.

Verbatim to what everyone else said.  These folks are obviously doing something right.  Don't risk the health and well-being of your pet to anywhere else when you need to travel.  Bring it here.  You won't be sorry.

    UPDATE!!!!

So I don't even know where to begin. Sherry is amazing.  It has been a while but we have gotten our monster back.  I was having some difficulty getting him to listen to me, so I contacted Sherry.... She went so far as to come to my house (and I live FAR from Gilroy) and spend the afternoon with me and my boyfriend and my dogs.

She walked with us, evaluated my lifestyle at home and left me with so much great information.  Having her presence has really helped and the fact that she came so out of her way and has dedicated so much to me and my dogs is unheard of in today's world.

She has just been amazing.  In the last three days, I have seen a big turnaround in my dog and couldn't have done it without her.

She is incredibly knowledgable and really knows how to control dogs so that the owner and the dog are happy.

I have also taken my dachshund there for boarding while I was away on vacation.  I just love the fascility and the training program.

I have only rave reviews for this place!

p.s... i am a REAL dog owner.....not some foo foo "i love pets" kind of owner....not a "oooh let me put my dog in my pocket and spoil them" kind of owner...but a real dog owner who spends a lot of time researching and reading about dog behavior and breed tendencies....so for Sherry to walk into my life; well, she has helped me tremendously!

I have an English Bulldog, Buster, who I adopted through the Northern CA Bulldog Rescue in 2004.  Without any prior history on him, I found out quickly that Buster was dog aggressive.  We spent many dollars on specialized classes through private trainers and the SF/SPCA.  None of the classes helped to control Buster's aggression.  After seeing an episode of The Dog Whisperer, I knew that I needed to find a trainer who utilized the same methods of "Dog Psychology" to help Buster, especially since his aggression was becoming worse and he was starting to bite people.  Doing a Google search, I was able to find Sherry Boyer and the Dog Behavior Rehab program.

Sherry and her staff (Rommey and Terry) all worked diligently and patiently with Buster for a month, then an extra 2 weeks at another time, in order to make sure Buster was going to be a good boy when he came home.  I saw remarkable results with Buster!  His aggression has really decreased, not just because they trained Buster, but Sherry and the staff mostly trained ME on how to deal with him!  Thanks Dog House Inn!!!

Dog House Inn cared for our puppy after he was rescued by a good samaritan.  He is calm, happy and well adjusted.

Terry is extremely nice and helpful, and although I haven't met Rommey, my husband has, and she was very helpful as well.

We plan to take advantage of the puppy training classes at the Inn as soon as Tuco is ready.  Their boarding fees are also extremely reasonable.

As first time dog parents, we were wondering how in the world we would be able to care for our bulldog pup while we were away at work.  When he was younger, he had health issues, and we were worried that we were the only ones who could care for him properly (yes, we are paranoid).  At the same time, we knew that we couldn't leave him home alone because we wanted him to be socialized and exercised on top of having fun.  We discovered The Dog House Inn.  This place is the best!  On top of their professionalism and friendliness, all the staff genuinely care for the dogs, ensuring that they are well cared for and safe.  In addition to their play yards that have swimming pools to splash around in, they do have an air conditioned room for the heat-sensitive dogs to relax in.  It is a clean environment.  I've never spotted nor smelled poop.  Irving is simply in heaven as soon as we arrive and reluctantly leaves the place at the end of the day (staff has to walk him out to my car as when he sees me, he knows that I will take him back home and away from his playground).  We have also utilized their boarding services, and would recommend, with the utmost confidence, any dog parents to try this business.

Great place for your dog to get away.  My dog always gets excited when I mention Dog House Inn.  The facility is very large.  Lots of room for your pup to run around.   The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.  You can tell that the staff truly care about your pet.  I definitely feel at ease and know my dog is in good hands.  I live in San Jose... I only wish they had a facility closer to me.  No Brainer!  I highly recommend this place!  Tell them that Diesel sent you :)

Update time.  I love the people at Dog House Inn.  All of the ladies working down there are top shelf, attentive, knowledgeable, and most important care about the dogs.  Chuy's development I attribute 100% to Dog House Inn and to Mary Cortani.  Please give these people your business.

The Dog House Inn was a great find.  We have been sending our English Bulldog (Bella) to the Inn for half a year.  We love it, she loves it.  The staff is top-notch and you can trust them from the first "hello".  These people love pets!  We recently moved from Hollister to San Jose and we will remain loyal Dog House Inn customers.
