The greatest Dive Bar in Denver, is actually in Lakewood. Come see our newly remodeled interior for a great atmosphere where you can be yourself and comfortable in your surroundings. Try our excellent brick oven pizzas, fresh burgers, and wings. The Dive Bar welcomes all who walk through the doors.

UPDATE:
So, this place is going thru some major upheaval!
Needless to say, our food and drinks were comp'd.
Out of most menu items. Food took too long, but what we got was acceptable bar fare.
Bartender was flying solo when we arrived. The cook was out shopping (at 5 pm), and then walked out mid- shift. An off-the-clock waitress was enjoying herself, but hopped in when the bartender got swamped.
Still recommend, but give them a few weeks to get their $h!+ together!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 17, 2019Previous reviewWell... came solely to see our friend play.
On the patio, nice atmosphere. No talking.
Ladies room was out of TP, so there is that...
Hope the food has merit. Fingers crossed... - Jan 15, 2017
FYI this place is now called Swig Bar now. Same sign out front.......but now it says Swig instead of Dive.
I had the burger. Medium rare. Very good! Cooked to perfection. Great fries too!
Even though the name changed, the management is the same.
The place is cozy and nice inside. A pool table an a few tables and a big bar to sit at.
Crazy deals for HH!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Eva M.Denver, CO11393351Mar 21, 2019Updated review

Oh, man. This place is definitely my new favorite hometown bar. Awesome, speedy service, catered just to us! My friends and I got here around 9pm on a Monday night, ready for a bite to eat and some cocktails. Unfortunately, we learned the kitchen was already closed. But when we described to the bartender how hungry we were, and that we'd need to go grab a bite to eat, then return for drinks, she called her boss over, had a quick word with him, then told us they'd reopened the kitchen just for us! Awesome!!
My 4 friends and I all ordered entrees and plenty of drinks, and no one left unsatisfied. The drinks were spot on, and the food was absolutely great. I mean delicious, levels above average bar food. Throughout our entire experience, our bartender, Shirlene, made sure we could ask for nothing. She even made sure to recall and refer to us each by our names every time she addressed us. Before, during, and after our visit, the owner made sure to physically check on us, introducing himself to us with a handshake and by name from the beginning. My friends and I decided right then and there, over a round of $3 happy hour shots, that this has become our new favorite spot!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Ashley P.Lakewood, CO7365Jun 25, 2017
Dive establishments have always been my favorite and buying a random Groupon to check Swig Tavern out was the way to go. My boyfriend and I frequent Lakewood Grill on Colfax but the service is less than stellar; Swig is a little further out but will be our new go to. The place is unassuming from the outside, used to be called The Dive Bar. The inside is clean and updated with a ton of fun signs, a pool table and an HD buck shooting arcade game. There were only about 7-8 other patrons but it was Sunday afternoon. Our bartender/ waitress- I believe her name was Kylie was nice and laid back and checked on us numerous times. She even told us about their happy hour specials and Tuesday bingo nights.
We were impressed with how many taps
they had for draught selection considering the size of the place. Also equally as excited to see green chiles on the menu! We both ordered the Swig burger- 1/2 pound patty topped with cheese, bacon and green chiles- nom!! The fries were hot, perfectly salted and I used the chipotle style ranch that came with the burger to dip them in. Hands down, the most flavorful burger I've had since moving to Denver. We'll be sure to be back, with friends next time!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 26, 2014
I would like to say this place is not without its charms, but that would be stretching the truth a tad. After seeing the generally positive reviews, I arranged to meet a couple friends here for a drink and possibly a bite. We had one drink and then left.
The Good: The bartender was friendly. She was on the ball and provided good service. The selection of craft beers was decent, but the list on the wall was out of date. Happy Hour pricing was not too shabby.
The Bad: No Air Conditioning (or if they had it, it was not running). I like it colder than most people, and I was dripping from the moment I entered at 6:30pm on a hot September day. My other friend keeps his house around 76 degrees (crazy hot) year round and even he was overly warm. It was somewhere in mid-80s by my sweaty estimate. The decor of painted cinder-blocks and worn furnishings left something to be desired (yes, I realize the word "dive" appears in the name of this joint).
The Ugly: My beer was warm. I don't think it was super cold coming out of the tap, but when it hit an 85 degree glass in an 85 degree room, it just gave up.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Maria H.Denver, CO1515Jan 20, 2017
Love! Great staff that are super friendly and delicious food!!! You would not expect such a great spot by the outside looks but it will be sure to leave you happy once you attend this "Dive Bar"! Enjoy!

Not happy with this place and have decided we will not be returning.
The late night bartender. Maybe her name is Erin? Well she's my biggest complaint. She is not a good bartender or even mediocre at that, she's down right bad. She freaks out under pressure when the bars barely filled. Forgets orders, and tells people rudely to "wait one second I'm busy" it's like hello you didn't even finish with my order and you're running off shushing me?! You're a bartender multitasking should be second nature. I also found her to be very unprofessional in her demeanor. When a customer asks how your night is going, don't tell us with a worried and anxious tone "it's okay" and shrug your shoulders like you're about to have a panic attack. My god!
I came here because my boyfriend swore it was worth it and begged me enough times after I refused for months. First time we came we ordered a few drinks and an order of onion rings. They were literally burnt to a dark brown and the onion had actually disintegrated into nothing. We asked Erin(?) for napkins because you know people use those and she did the whole "uh yeah one minute I'm busy" BS. 10 minutes later no napkins and oh guess what miss panic attack forgot again.
2nd and last time we will come in same thing happened with napkins, acted like it was a problem to get them and then oh guess what she forgot. Then I asked for some salsa for the gnarly looking quesadilla. She looks at me and is like "you know I have to call down for it" so!!!! again you're a bartender do your job. I don't care if you have to order it. That's what you're paid to do.
Anyways definitely not coming back. The food plain sucks, service sucks and I don't feel like wasting my time in there quite frankly.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

As the owner, I am genuinely concerned with this post. I have reached out to the customer and have had no luck in trying to remedy the situation.

So I decided to Dive on in to the Dive Bar. Not nearly as Divey as I would have hoped for since it's on good ole Colfax. Pretty new inside since they are remodeling. No hipsters or neck beards sipping mirco beers so that puts a lil spring in my shorts. If You Will....
Seems good ole Colfax is getting all polished up.... But still a turd.
Cheers.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
