Possibly the best Restaurant in Washington outside of the Seattle area.

A wonderful variety on their menu always insures there's something you are in the mood for.

Their Clam Chowder is easily the best I have ever had.  Ever.  Forever ever?  Forever.

Service is usually good, since there is only like 12 tables.

Cannot be beat on the peninsula.

Great, Great restaurant in Long Beach area.

I have had several amazing dinners here. Not only is the food incredible so is the service! And on Wednesdays in the Winter they have hamburger night.

Great fresh ground hamburgers.

Also, they give a real generous pour when you get a glass of wine. I think the best restaurant on the coast North of Astoria.

Wednesday burger night...

I was told that I'd have one of the best burgers of my life here. I don't know what it is lately, but I've been having some pretty mundane burgers. The last best burger I had was in Vegas, and I'm not sure if it was actually a phenomenal burger, or too many Coronas.

At any rate, the burger I had at The Depot was definitely better than what I've recently stuffed down my gullet. The best? Not really, but definitely worth going back for. Especially if you're in the Long Beach area.

The service is where this place really shined for me. We didn't have reservations, but they got us in anyway. Every server we saw was smiling and friendly. The beer arrived immediately, and the food found its way to us shortly thereafter.

If you're out that way, I'd absolutely recommend checking this place out--but it might be a good idea to make a reservation.

I won't let the waiter's somewhat lack of enthusiasm spoil the review overall.  The busser, Anika, more than made up for the waiter who was too easily distracted.  The food here was excellent.  Previous reviewer who said it was just over-priced bistro food was perhaps not appreciating the rarity of such a meal in these parts.  But really, I would happily pay what we paid for this meal any day of the week at home in Seattle.  In fact, I wish we could get a place like this near home.  Great food without a pretentious attitude or ambiance.  The portions were the perfect size too.  And be sure you plan for desert, the pot du creme was delicious, the cobbler very good but not as good as the pot du creme.

I had the grass raised and finished organic ribeye.  After watching Food Inc., I wasn't sure if I would be able to order beef again, but, thankfully, The Depot is on to the way food should be purchased and served.  My dining partners were blathering about their food as well.  We cleaned our plates of the generous portions and were delighted to know that restaurants this good could exist outside the metropolitan areas!  Just a marvelously good experience!  We'll go as often as we can....

Highly recommend.  The chef did a great job with the calamari dish we had (Thai style...quite fresh - not fried).  The scallops, clams, and fish were all just delicious.  Simple foods prepared to perfection.  Best place to eat on Long Beach as far as I'm concerned.  I'll go again when I'm in the area.

The Depot was used by the Clamshell Railroad and the Coast Guard. We enjoy dinning at the full length bar. Very quality food made fresh for you. This is not the place you would expect in a small town.

We took our family reunion to the Depot's Burger Night this spring because we heard it was so good.  I had the buffalo burger and added all the goodies I could choose from their tally sheet and it was the best burger ever and I loved their sweet potato fries. This place was great for kids and our whole group enjoyed! We liked the place so much my husband and I returned two nights later on our own and had an elegant meal from their "gourmet" menu.  Totally different feel, great service again, but felt more like a French Bistro.  Loved the house salad and their crab cakes.  My husband loved the wild boar gnocchi....and the flourless chocolate tart was to die for. Go there!

Came to Long Beach for a weekend getaway from Portland...wasn't expecting much in this tiny town but I was pleasantly suprised.  The Depot is a wonderful fine dining establishment up to par with the classy restaurants in any major city.  First off, it's freakin' cute!  It is a transformed old train depot, cozy but not crammed, with romantic track lighting and glowing grapes over the bar.  The food was excellent, I had crab stuffed sole with mushroom au jus and my companion had the filet.  Both were perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned.  The flourless chocolate torte we had for dessert was divine.  They had a decent wine list, and service was friendly and hospitable.  The Depot is a wonderful dining experience, not cheap but well worth the price because they are doing everything right.

Who would have ever guessed the Washington Coast had such a place such as this. I went in having very low expectations, and was blown away. This little restaurant can hang with the best of them. The food was served hot and fresh, and the service was fast and friendly. We ordered up the Thai calamari, fresh oysters, and the crab mac, for starters. Then I tapped in to a nice 14oz rib eye that was cooked to perfection served with the best wild mushroom concoction that I've ever had, and with Parmesan cheese mashed potato's. My buddy ordered up the wild boar gnocchi, and we finished dinner off with a pumpkin flan. This place is a bit pricey, and I'd image gets packed on busy weekends, but I'd definitely go back. Oh yeah, they don't open till 5PM.
