For those in Cypress looking for something besides Starbucks, The Daily Brew (there are two locations) are great options. This one is my favorite: it's cozier and in a better location. The atmosphere is nice for chatting or studying (free wifi) and the employees are chill but really nice. But what I reeeeallly come to Daily Brew for is the white mocha. Hot, iced, blended... seriously, the combination of their espresso with the sweetness of white mocha is heaven. Add peppermint for a winter treat! The prices are decent too. The pastry selection is pretty generic, but I'll admit I'm a fan of the sugary Elephant Ear they have sometimes. I always stop by on my way back to Austin.

I'm always on the lookout for coffee shops that aren't Starbucks. There's nothing wrong with Starbucks and I'm not saying that I don't ever go to Starbucks, but I usually try to go to smaller coffee shops when I can. One day the boyfriend and I decided to go for a drive around the neighborhood...we were on a search for this one pizza place, but didn't find it. Instead we found The Daily Brew.
I would say the location threw me off, just cause it's on the corner of a small shopping center that has a liquor store and I forget what else next to it, but it just seemed out of place. We walked in and the person at the counter greeted us immediately and was very friendly..great on the customer service. The ambience was comforting. The lights weren't too bright that they would blind you nor were they too dim that you felt like you were in some mystery movie. The menu has a lot of variety to it and they even have some sandwiches to crave the hunger as well as pastries. I ordered a vanilla soy latte and was very happy when I received my drink. It was a good temperature and the amount of vanilla syrup was just enough that it didn't make it too sweet.
I would definitely go back...now I'm going to try their other items on the menu...what's next?Listed in: Caffeine Buzz is the word!

I meet my friend here every Sunday before church. There is a large variety of coffees, smoothies, and teas as well as a good variety of bagels and pastries. I love the ambiance of the local coffee house vs. the hustle and bustle of a normal Starbucks. It's definitely a place that I look forward to going to every week!

The Daily Brew is an excellent little java shop. The atmosphere is cozy and the variety is plentiful. The baristas are knowledgeable, more than compatent, and pleasingly pleasant. Why stop for the big guys when the small guys do it better?
